First let me say Lakeview Grocery has two pages. This one seems to be geared towards the deli and the other page for general grocery shopping. The deli area was clean and easy to navigate. So my 5 stars come from the the gentleman who assisted me and took the time to explain the hot food bar after I told him it was my first visit. Next time I return I will get his name and update the review. The 2nd reason for 5 stars was I watched him bring out a FRESH batch of baked chicken about an hour before they closed! Do you know how rare that is? I expected to be picking over leftovers. The gentleman informed me that they cook a fresh batch of all the meats with in two hours of closing! The last reason why I'm giving three stars is because the food tasted GOOD. $9.99/lb and worth it. I spent $27 for two plates for me and my kids and a cup of soup. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. We will be back. read more

What a cool concept. This pint sized restaurant is located inside of the Lakeview Grocery and is our go to spot when we do not want to cook. On steak nights, you can get a rib eye steak cooked anyway you like with a loaded baked potato for approximately $10.00. And I'm not talking about some 6 ounce petite portion. This is a huge boneless steak probably weighing in at 12 ounces or more. For $10.00, there's really no better deal around. I'm also a fan of "burger nights", where you can get a huge (maybe 1/2 lb) burger and a loaded baked potato for approximately $10.00. Although not quite on par with Port-O-Call, Snug Harbor or Lakeview Harbor; this burger holds its own taste wise and is a great value. The Cove will also cook any steak bought inside their store to order, and I think the same holds true for some of the fish fillets. There is ample seating inside for approximately 20 people and I have yet to see the small dining room filled to capacity. However, it seems that most people, including myself, opt to take our food home; especially if you live in the Lakeview area and can get home prior to the food getting cold. This place is a win/win matter how you slice it. You can choose to eat in or take home one of the menu items or eat in or take home a steak that you just picked out from the meat department. You just can't go wrong, especially when you factor in the level of convenience. read more

Love this place. Not only do they have an extensive selection of wine and dairy products (different brands of oat milk), but their prepared foods are out of this world. I haven't seen their tortellini salad anywhere else and I'm definitely addicted. It's right next to my workout studio and I can't imagine having a better place to pick up groceries on the way home. read more

This is a perfectly good spot to eat in Lakeview. Good portions, good food, cheap prices and a family atmosphere. Staff is helpful and friendly. I'm the Duchess! Time to review. So my dad and I have been working on my house renovation in Lakeview for almost a year now. Almost every day that we work, we eat here. We eat at the soup, salad and hot dish bars which are open for breakfast lunch and dinner. All bars are $4.99 per lb. The highlights are: fried chicken fried catfish vegetable soup baked potato soup tuna salad fresh fruit fresh veggies pasta lasagna burritos the list goes on and the selections rotate. Good concept, terrible execution and management. This was the first time I've been here. I really just wanted some lunch. This is really just a lunch counter in a grocery store that they tried to separate from the actually grocery store. The menu board had muffulettas listed, which I ordered. I was then told by the girl working the counter that I would have to go inside and get my sandwich from the refrigerated deli case and ask them to heat it up. Albeit odd, that is what I did. The ONE girl working the counter inside the store on a SATURDAY DURING LUNCH has to ring up customers buying things from the deli, salad bar, burrito bar, pre-packaged deli food cases, heat up sandwiches on the panini press, AND make coffee at the PJ's Coffee counter which is connected. Well, let's just say that it's no surprise the she wound up burning my quarter muffuletta since she got too busy and forgot about it. I had to ask her after 20 minutes of standing at the counter waiting, if my sandwich was ready yet. I watched her go to the panini press and pull out a burnt quarter muffuletta. She then had to go get another one out of the cold case. That is when I told her to just refund my money and forget about it. She was very apologetic and said that it would probably be faster to just heat up another sandwich than waiting on the "manager" to come do the refund. She was pleasant and nice throughout, just clearly overworked and having to work with the management's inefficient processes. Apparently the cashiers have no authority to void off items. I noticed as she was ringing up another customer, she accidentally scanned an item twice. She had to call the "manager", and I use that word loosely, to come do an override on the register. She also had to call this so-called "manager" to refund my $3.25 quarter muffuletta. It's a bit ridiculous that their cashiers aren't empowered to give a $3.25 refund. My biggest surprise was that this "manager" came to the register, and she told him that she accidentally burnt my sandwich. The guy didn't even look at me, and didn't say a word. He just turned his little key, typed in his numbers and walked away. How sad. As busy as that girl was, he couldn't step in and help her in any way? Or offer me an apology? Let me just say that there is WAY too much going on at Harrison Cove with poor management and execution. I am in the customer service business for a living. It's a shame, because if operated efficiently, this place could really do well. Now I know why there was barely anyone eating there at 12:30pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. No, I will not be back or recommend to anyone; even though I am in the neighborhood all the time. read more

I had to run in to grab some breakfast items. Little cute grocery store tucked away in Lakeview. Nice staff and clean environment! I grabbed some eggs from their hot breakfast bar and some milk. Would go again if needed when in Lakeview area!! read more

Service so rude it's difficult not to take it personally. I witnessed the cook standing outside smoking, not a big deal. However, he didn't wash his hands and went straight back to handling food. They were out of unsweetened tea at 6:30pm. I mentioned this to the employee and she stared blankly and asked what I would like her to do about it. I passed on the lemon slices for my tea because it looked like the 100 or so fruit flies had already staked their claim on the lemons. Also, provolone cheese is not an option for the meatball poboy but they have provolone on the muffulettas. I didn't want cheddar or Swiss on the meatball, seeing that they had provolone, I asked if it was possible to get and the girl taking our order rolled her eyes and said that it wasn't an option. My meatball poboy was served COLD. The cheese fries tasted like the oil was really dirty. My son had the hamburger poboy and the patties were so overcooked that they were inedible. No manager in sight and the employees didn't care. I had high hopes for this place because it looks great, the location is great and the menu is very reasonably priced. Great concept--wine by the glass as you shop, they cook the meat you buy, also. Ordered fried oyster or shrimp po-boy to go: it was so oversalted that my mouth burned. I don't remember throwing away a po-boy til theirs. Talked to staff and they said that, unfortunately, their breading is so over salted that they can't make any fried shellfish not uber salty. I can't see buying food for them to cook because the place is so poorly managed. The staffers are so nice but I feel genuinely bad for them--they are not even provided with a metal wine opener! The plastic one they have is dangerous -- a lawsuit waiting to happen. I asked to borrow it during a festival night when I bought their wine and got a seriously painful injury when it malfunctioned. The staff is ordered to put already boiled seafood (crawfish) into hot water to make you think its fresh like Seither's Seafood! read more

This restaurant is routinely out of items listed on their menu. Service is rude and slow. The final straw was waiting 45 min for 2 deli meat po boys and fries before canceling the order. I have learned my lesson and will not be eating here in the future. read more
