5 STARS, I don't usually take the time to write a review, but I learned today that Lakeway AC actually deserves all these great reviews you see on YELP. In my case, I took my neighbor's recommendation and hired Lakeway AC to fix a drainage issue on 2 separate units. The Lakeway AC techs took the time to blow out both lines, but more importantly, they re-angled the PVC pipe to prevent any future blockages. (something that the prior company we called failed to fix) Then within a day after work was done, my third AC unit had issues. With 100 degree heat expected, I called Lakeway right way the next morning and within 15 minutes, Chris their service delivery manager was at our house and fixed what turned out to be a failed capacitor on the condenser unit. He even waived the service charge since they had just been out. It's rare to find a company like this - so wanted to make sure I acknowledge the great service! read more

I have used Lakeway a couple of times. Last year when I was on a campout with my son my wife called telling me that lightning had hit our house. And both Units where not working and one had just replaced. John and his staff where there before I got home and had one unit back up and running since it was about 100 degrees that day. We have had several folks from Lakeway AC come to the house over the years and they are always professional. They even say hi when they see me In one of the local stores. Just nice people. read more

The rebate on Lennox products was "difficult" because there were no simple instructions on what info to enter. Once you know the info, the Lennox rebate claim is easy & very fast to complete. Lakeway AC & Heating-Miguel said they would complete the rebate paperwork. The woman in Lakeway AC office said no-they aren't allowed to complete the Lennox rebate for customers per Lennox. I spoke to Chris & he said Lennox wants customers to complete the rebate request. Other than the rebate issues, all else on the install & service was great. It seems like Lennox & their business partners need to coordinate better customer service for people like me who have difficulty with rebate requests. read more

We've had these folks out to fix our AC three times in the last 4 years because our 15 year old AC unit is slowly giving up the ghost. Their response to our service calls have, without fail, been prompt, reliable and trustworthy and always had us up and running quickly. The technicians have been professional, courteous and efficient and their fees are very reasonable--especially around Lakeway (we don't live IN Lakeway, just near there, and we aren't rich by any stretch of the imagination). I recommend them without reservation. Today is Sunday. I called at 8:30 a.m. and Emilio was here by 10:00 a.m., and the job was complete by about 11:00 a.m. Cool air is once again making life better. read more

Wednesday I was at home when my AC went out, and about an hour after it went out, I decided to call Lakeway AC & Heating. I had never tried their service before but was hoping if I called someone local that I could get someone out quickly. Well, about 15 minutes later, Chris was at my house to look at the AC! I guess I lucked out...he was already in the neighborhood completing another job. He diagnosed the problem (bad capacitor), fixed the AC unit, and had it back running in about 20 minutes. After the work was completed, he took the time to talk to me about my unit and how it worked with the different control zones in my house. I can't say enough good things about Chris and the service he provided. I was so impressed I asked about a service contract. He informed me they don't do them anymore. He said they still have some customers that have them, but he said they were down two technicians and were having trouble trying to do all the maintenance calls on top of service calls. I really appreciated the honest from Chris....as well as the service he provided, and the time he spent educating me on my AC unit. Lakeway AC & Heating has made a new customer with me...hopefully I won't have any AC problems, but if I do, I feel comfortable Lakeway AC & Heating will be there to fix it quickly and professional. read more

Our A/C went down over Memorial Day weekend. Not only did they answer right away, they told me they would be here that day to assess the problem. With how busy they were, they told me around 5pm, but they were here early and fixed the problem right away. If you ever have heating or A/C problems I highly recommend this company!! read more

Called on Dec 19, freezing temperatures, diagnosis: need to replace the blower motor; ok... we had this replaced three years ago for $230. They call us a couple days later, trying to charge $800 for the *part* plus service, I asked them to do a bit more research and get us a price closer to the actual cost (you can find the part in several places online between $200 and $400) and they said they would but they simply disappeared, leaving us without heat for Christmas with a house full of guests in freezing temperatures. The guy was downright abusive when I called back today December 27, to ask if they had found a part that was closer to the actual price; he was simply infuriating. I'm a builder and I know what things cost. It's not ok to try to gauge people and let them freeze during Christmas, and to take this long to provide service. If they are not going to do the job they need to tell you. Funny how they lie several times on their reply below, they clearly quoted $800 for the part alone, *not including service*, now they say it included service, not what they told me, whatsoever. Yes, I mentioned "refurbished" citing the old repair, that was then; now, anyone can find the part online for half to a third of the price they quoted me. (The part number so you can look it up and see if what it actually costs: MAA100NR5R Blower Motor. I just got off the phone with a perfectly reputable house in Illinois that can have it Fedexed to me in 24 hrs for $299) The bit about us having heat by now if we had paid their gauging prices, is bullocks, they said it would take 5 days to get the part, so I would definitely still be without heat. The bit about me calling him sweetheart is true! I was being me, I say that, I'm from another country and we are sweet and warm, not sarcastic, it was at the beginning of the conversation and I was civil all the way through. Here in Yelp, they use it to make me look bad, on top of things! Ugly. I am thoroughly disgusted, feel free to message me. PS: THE KICKER???? I have another guy here and the blower motor WORKS JUST FINE. The heat is fixed in one hour and a half! Cost? Under $200 Really? How come this does not even surprise me? I am writing another high recommendation for Lakeway AC and Heating because we just had another great experience with them. I came home Friday at 2 PM to discover that the upstairs was hot. I called Lakeway AC and Heating to get some relief. They said, "Mr. Fowler, I'll have a tech call you as soon as I can". In two minutes Miguel call me and said he could be here in five minutes. Miguel showed up and took all of 15 minutes to find the problem. He went to the shop found the part, came back, installed it and cool air came out the vents. These guys were excellent. The previous contractor told me that I needed to have the entire coil replaced. The cost of the job was estimated at $1,200. Lakeway said that I was down a half pound of freon and didn't charge me. The system works great as it had before. I'm so glad that I got a second opinion with Lakeway. read more

I needed a new system 2 years ago and consulted with several suppliers. John from Lakeway A/C really impressed me with his knowledge and patience in explaining what all the technical terms meant. His crew did a great job on the installation, even cleaning up after themselves. However, what has really been impressive is the way Lakeway A/C has stood behind their work. I've only had 2 problems since the install but both times John has responded immediately and technicians were sent out to quickly fix the issues. Our A/C unit was not cooling as well as it should. I called Lakeway A/C and Heating and within an hour Jason was at our house. He is a very competent and most important very polite and humble person. He checked and replaced the inflow register and filled a couple of pounds of freon. The work was done within an hour. he also told us that he would be willing to come back in case the cooling does not improve, and most importantly , that he would not charge for the house call. They are fantastic! Superior service! My house was not heating properly and after 3 visits with the other company that installed my heat pump, it still wasn't fixed and the other company told me it would take 2500 to fix it. I called Lakeway AC&Heating because I wanted a second opinion. They found the problem within 10 minutes and DID NOT CHARGE ME for the visit. They were careful not to do anything that would void my warranty and fixed the issue so it was heating, not cooling. I am very grateful for their help and they saved me a lot of money. I would have paid 2500 and the problem would not have gone away. I will use them for all my regular maintenance from now on. read more

Can't say enough good about my experience with Lakeway AC & Heating. Our system went out after-hours in high-90's weather and it was difficult to sleep that night as the temperatures indoors continued to rise. Called early the next morning, and was pleasantly surprised when the office answered even before opening time (I was hoping just to leave a message to get in the service queue ASAP). They told me their schedule and that I would get a warning call from the tech when he was on his way so I could drive home from work. Got the call, Dalton was right on time, and couldn't have been nicer during the whole visit, despite being up in a 130-degee attic. He figured out and fixed the problem in minutes, and I was charged a very fair price. System worked like a charm immediately. A couple days later, the cooling stopped again, although this time the fan was still moving air. Called them back, Dalton came out again, and immediately discovered that the float switch on our drain pan had gone off because in playing "catch up," the system had run near-continuously and generated a lot of condensation which filled the pan with water. He pumped it empty, the system was back on, and he didn't charge me a cent for the repeat stop, even though it wasn't due to any flaw in his first fix. Wow! So far, so good on continued operation, even with all 98-101 degree days since then. They'll be my go-to repair team from here on, and when our system finally gives up, my first bidder on the replacement. read more

Horrible service and very unprofessional! My A/C unit stopped working three days ago, so I called Lake Travis A/C because they have been doing my A/C servicing and bi-annual routine maintenance for over five years. Their technician showed me where the freon was leaking at the solenoid, but said that he didn't have the part on his truck to fix it. He quickly shifted to a sales pitch and said because my unit was over 20 years old that I should just go ahead and buy a new A/C unit and air handler rather than repair the A/C unit because I would have to replace it before year 2020 anyway due to federal regulations (which I found out later was not accurate). He said he would have the office call and send me a proposal immediately, that he would go on to his next service call, and he would then come back after that call, patch the leak, and inject more freon into my system to tide me over for a few days until the unit was replaced. Further, he said that I should insist that he do the installation because the company is having a lot of internal turmoil and turnover, and the other technicians are not as experienced and qualified as he is to do the work. And, he said that if he doesn't do the installation work that I should consider having another company do it. As a matter of fact, my A/C is a 2004 model and not over 20 years old as the tech tried to convince me. Thinking that I would have to replace my system within 3 years due to federal regulations, when I received the replacement proposal, I signed and returned it. A few hours later, the General Manager, Chris, called me to say they have "an issue" with my signed proposal. He then went on to say that the Office Manager had misquoted the proposal and that I would need to agree to sign and send back a new proposal with a price that was 10% higher before they could order the new A/C unit and proceed with getting the permit for the work through the city of Lakeway. I conveyed that as a matter of good business practice they should honor their proposal because it was their mistake and because I have been a long-term customer and have paid them a lot of money over time. I even suggested that we compromise and meet halfway on the difference, to which Chris responded that they were not going to do that and that they did not need my business. I told Chris I was surprised by his comments and that I would need to think about how I wanted to proceed. I then called the owner, John, and told him what had happened and what had been said by his General Manager. He said he would call me back when he got back to his office. He called back and said that they had made an honest mistake and that because it is the peak of the summer, because they are short-staffed, and because he is having to pay a lot of overtime expense to his technicians, he could not afford to honor the original signed proposal. Feeling like I was being held over the barrel because we needed our air conditioning to work immediately, I said that I would sign the new proposal and give it to their technician when he returned that day. Their technician never showed up at my house to pick up the new signed proposal and to temporarily fix and put my system back together like he said he would. I called their office yesterday morning and they said they would contact him and have him come out that morning. I never heard from him and he never showed up again. So, I called another locally owned A/C company around noon yesterday and the owner of the company came out within an hour, confirmed that my unit was a 2004 model and not over 20 years old, that the unit would not need to be replaced by 2020, and that the unit could be repaired and did not need to be replaced. I asked him to proceed, and he completed the repair work and got my system up and running within two hours. I called Lakeway A/C again this morning to ask why their technician never came back or contacted me. The Office Manager said that the technician told her he tried to call me several times to arrange to come back but that I didn't answer or return his phone call -- a bold-faced lie -- he did no such thing. Needless to say, I will not do business with Lakeway A/C again. read more
