I am a Pakistani girl who was grown up with the meals that were served in this buffet and it was just utterly horrible. I had gone there a couple years back and the food was just purely disgusting, my own cousin said that the employees were eating better meals from elsewhere than where they were serving. I had gone again recently after years and decided to give the place another shot and again I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The food is tastless, absolutely nothing like how Paki food tastes like. And let me tell you about the infestation problem..This restaurant has more bugs I have ever seen in my life. I was up getting some rice, one thing I actually seemed like kind of teach myself to like at the place, and BOOM out comes a one inch cockroach from the rice. I COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT. I took it to the manager and complained how there was a bug in the rice and even showed her the video my little brother made of it and also complained about the flies that were everywhere and his response was "Ma'am there are kids here that tend to pick up bugs and drop them in the food." after that he ordered one employee to change the rice. I couldn't trust the place anymore I up and left and trashed the $13.50 I had paid for my buffet. Overall, worse place I have been too. Tasteless food, bug infestation, and lack of professionalism. Really did not enjoy the food here at all. They have tons of buffet options, each lesser quality than the next. The South Asian dishes were either too spicy or had no taste at all. The meat was either overcooked/dry or undercooked/smelly. The dessert options were the only somewhat redeeming factor, but would I come back again just for them? Definitely not. read more

Let us start with the lady at the entrance who took more than a minute to turn around and realize there were customers behind her. Next, as we sat down with our food, I notice something huge behind my husband and when it started to move, I realized it was a huge cockroach so we moved to another table. Some lady who was eating was looking at us in a funny way so I asked if she worked there and she said yes so i told her about the roach and she went over and killed it with a napkin. That was the worse food I ever had really bad ... half of the pans are empty no desert no salads the food was old and no flavor at all very disappointing... we drove 20 miles to try it. Go there just for food as that is the only good thing there...if you care for ambiance, opt out! The food is nice, especially their bbq. It's fresh and hot from the grill. Over all Pakistani variety of food is good. They have items like halwa poori, qormas, haleem, nihari, biryani and usually some vegetable and daal dishes too. Chinese variety is extensive too, and we go there due to its being 'halal'. Desserts lack variety, they have fresh fruit and kheer most of the days. Since the new management has taken over, their staff is uncourteous and waiter service is just zero and hopeless. One feels ashamed with his guests tobe there. During my recent visit to this place, I was very very disappointed with my seven guests. The counter associate is just concerned to charge the per person plus tax plus their own originated 15% service charges. Their waitress and the waiters were wearing dirty and stinky cloth, un professional and didn't pay attention to the customers despite of complaint at the counter even to the owner. Their so called service for which customers are charged an hidden 15% as service charges, the limited table service of cutlery and water-pot/glasses extremely worst. We wanted to try it for so long. Finally got a chance this weekend. The food was okay but the lady behind the front desk " Aneesa" takes all the credit for hospitality and customer service. We were their last customers and she personally made sure that we were well adjusted and well fed. She went in the kitchen to make sure there was enough food for us. Got us fresh bread and what not. We went there on wednesday around 8.30pm from a 1 hour drive in rain. When we got there, only 2 families were eating. There was literally no good food, only 2,3 chicken tikkas and 3,4 kababs . First we thought to go somewhere else but my brother paid before even checking the food. This was not our first time there . There was no waiter, the front desk person was doing the waiter job though. I asked him there is no food, the lady owner heard me and came to me telling that she ordered not to make too much food if there is less people. If I could I would I have given negative star!!! But the waiter was nice to us. First of all the food tasted really bad and on the top of that it tasted old rather than fresh at least a day old! They have a variety of indian food as well as chinese foods. I went on a friday night. Their buffet was $11.49 per person. I mainly went for the indian foods. They had many rows of food. The vegetable pakora and the chicken tandoori were really fresh and tasty. Most of the other indian dishes i tasted were ok except palak and chicken curry. They din't taste that fresh plus it was cold. If u like going for ambience, this restaurant will surely disappoint you. It looks like the restaurant needs a makeover. I like this place because of their large selection. I have family members with particular tastes (this one doesn't like Chinese food and this one does like Indian food, etc.) and everyone can find something there. Unfortunately, I found the Indian food to be a little too spicy for my tastes. The wait staff is always very nice. Some of the reviews have commented negatively about the desserts. Personally, I'm not usually a fan of desserts at restaurants that serve non-American cuisine because my palate is just not used to them. So, going into Lal Qila, I expected not to like their desserts. I was pleasantly surprised. It's no Cheesecake Factory or Ben and Jerry's, but their desserts are not bad. I am sadden to see this place fall apart after seeing them grow for years. From my understanding the previous manager sold the business which has resulted to new management. This place use to be amazing for the versatile food, service and sanitation. Now it has changed drastically in all aspects. The scent of the bathroom lingers to the dining area. The food sits out for hours. Macaroni and cheese was hard and dark yellow showing that it was old, the server came by to mix the food routinely instead of replacing it with fresh food which is of concern. People come here for great food, service and sanitation...if you take that away then you take away the loyalty of your customers. My entire family were loyal customers, this place use to be packed and now due to these changes there is very limited amount of customers. The waitresses didn't know how to talk or understand. For example, I had to tell one of the waitresses 5 times what I want to drink. The tables are so small. How do you expect to have a fancy restaurant when you cant even come up with an idea to have bigger tables and reasonable room for bigger crowd? Also the mall closes at 9 and you say your closed at midnight? I checked this place out as a possible venue for an upcoming reception. I was not impressed with the decor. In fact, there really is no decor. Simply tables, chairs, and a rather lackluster collection of steam tables. I would overlook the drabness if the food was good and I have to say it was pretty good. However, I lost my appetite when a cockroach crawled out from under my husband's plate. He immediately killed it and called the hostess over to tell her what happened. Her reaction was incredible. I have been in Washington metropolitan and baltimore area for almost 25 yrs, I have seen lots of restaurants opining and closing. We went there yesterday, and we will never return again. First of all food is ridiculous,taste less and expensive and then very nasty and rude management. My kids were standing near serving area and they were not even touching the food, the guy named Tayyab came and yelled at my 6 year old daughter, telling her not to put her finger in the food. Then she started crying, I asked her if she touching the food with her finger,my daughter denied, my kids don't lie, I was trying to calm my daughter down, the guy tayyab came back to argue with me, when I questioned him and told him to be polite with kids, he told me to leave the place. We went to that place to have some good time, not to get insulted. We did not even finish our food and we had to leave. I will get in touch with my bank for refund. (This was yesterday's incident ) We went to that place about a month ago, there was some party going on and it was busy, we asked the girl with glasses at front if she could help us, she did not pay any attention to us, she was busy eating sweets which was sitting at front counter uncovered, grabbing it with her hands ( She was touching it with her hands ) and flirting with a guy. Restaurant employ ( The skinny girl with glasses ) can touch food with her hands and no one says nothing to her, But my 6 rear old shy daughter who wasn't even touching food got yelled. I will never ever go there again and I do not recommend that place to any one. I civilized world usually problems like this can be avoided by saying, I am sorry, I didn't mean to do that.
