I give it four stars cause its hella convenient! Came here with some friends after seeing the fb post about crabs being available on a Sunday afternoon. We had nothing else really planned sooooo why not. I can't say the decor is the best or the flavor was popping on these crabs but I can confirm I got alllllll my monies worth plus some. It was decent at best with much room for improvement. I appreciate the bartender being from the area. I have been served by her at other bars in the area. Stopped by on the way home and the service wasn't up to par. There are hardly any prices on the menu and it only says "market price" for everything including side orders which is ridiculous. We were told that crabs would take 20 min to come out and it took 45 minutes. The server was trying to wait tables and run the bar on the other side of the building which didn't leave time to check on his tables. I had to get up and look for him to get the check. I was there today. The food is not as good as it used to be - fried oysters and crab cake. Too much batter on the oysters and lots of filler in the crab cake. Worse, there was a woman, who I think worked there, who was in the empty back room, right next to our booth (there is no glass between the 2 rooms) on an apparent Zoom call on speaker. It was LOUD and so unbelievably rude. She started about 15 minutes after we arrived and was still on the call when we left. We mostly had to listen to the person on her phone drone and on and on. I said something to the waitress who did nothing which is why I think the woman on the phone worked there. The Manager maybe? There was no reason for her to be there. Go outside. I went to Lamberts after work on Friday looking forward to getting the Lambert's Lump (which USED TO BE DELICIOUS). I don't know what happened Friday but what I got was disgusting. The crab meat was overcooked and therefore dry and bitter tasting. The whole top half of it was not even edible and for almost $30 that was unacceptable. I am sooooo disappointed. The Lambe Lump used to be my favorite so I really hate that it no longer is. read more

I went to Lamberts on May 27th & I was so disappointed when I got home. I ordered the seafood platter- crab cake, scallops, shrimp, fish, hush puppies & cole slaw. I did a carry out because I was finishing my errands to head home (DC) to put my feet up & relax. When I got settled at home I opened my carry out meal & I could not believe what I was looking at. The scallops were so brown from being fried in old grease & when I tasted one I had to spit it out. The taste was nothing like what a scallop should taste like. The crabs cake was under cooked on the inside & overcooked on the outside. Man you talking about tough shrimp, they were rubbery & tasted horrible. The hush puppies were very dry inside & the fish what can I say. This meal was cooked in old grease so nothing looked good nor tasted like what it was suppose to be. Lamberts I have eaten here before so maybe this was just a bad day for you but it was a miserable experience for me. Glad I had some PP& J at home. It didn't take the place of me wanting to have a pleasant seafood meal Saturday so it did not make my day. This is a nice place to have a meal with a few friends. The atmosphere inside is happy people eating, talking & enjoying a good meal. I don't know if the cook was just what the hell I can get one more meal cooked in this oil before I throw it out or I'll finish out Saturday's meals & change it out later for Sunday. FOOD IS AMAZING!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL AND COMBO PLATTER -- Starting with that in case you're in a hurry... What follows is an honest review... I found this place while talking with a stranger at the bar of my hotel (Double Tree by Hilton in Largo, MD). We walked into the establishment and to be honest, were a little concerned because it wasn't your normal restaurant setting, single building, nice landscaping, professional signage, large parking lot; you know, like any large food chain. It's in kind of a rundown strip type shopping center with a car wash right next door, and parking wasn't that great. We walked in, stood around for a minute, then were told we could seat ourselves. The three of us sat there with only two menus, I was able to look at the menu after my co-workers decided, then someone showed up, took our drink and food order, soft drinks are free refills which we got ourselves from the fountain machine; my one co-worker ordered the Orange Crush bucket, which is an actual drink in a bucket, it was awesome, the other co-worker ended up driving because there was a lot of alcohol.. I was in my own car and I didn't partake, just a sip to try it. Anyway, on to the food, two of us ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, which came with horse radish, vinegar, cocktail sauce and Tabasco by request. The Oysters were nothing short of AMAZING!!! I literally could have eaten two more dozen, but we also ordered the Combo Platter fried, which came with a large piece of Cod, Scallops, Shrimp, and a nice size Crab Cake, plus two sides, the third co-worker ordered a plate full of fried shrimp. We were all pleasantly surprised, the food was soooo good, the batter they dipped the seafood in was light, crispy, with great flavor. The fried shrimp were excellent, and the cocktail sauce had just enough kick. If you're in the mood for GREAT SEAFOOD, you won't be disappointed!!! The only thing that may sound bad is, we didn't really have a dedicated server, it was more like, whoever was near us would ask if we were good, and they were so busy that we waited a little longer than we would have at your normal large chain restaurant, I say that loosely because I've had slow service in large chain restaurant before, and just to clarify, I'm not saying it was bad service, just not as dedicated as I'm use too. With that said, I didn't care that we didn't have a dedicated server, the food was so good, I'd go back without hesitation. We'd forgotten about Lambert's during the COVID era, but have popped in several times on Friday/Saturday nights, inevitably an hour or two before closing (we wish y'all'd stay open later!). Folks are friendly, always room to squeeze in at the bar (or a table), sports blaring on the big screens all around, and the service is attentive. Beer selection is good and reasonably priced, appetizers/small plates menu is excellent. No place has better raw oysters on half shell--big, fresh, served with horse radish and red sauce... and cheaper than anyone else. Parking is easy. The first time I went to Lamberts, I had just returned from picking up my nephew from his Army AIT at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. He was wearing his dress green uniform ( Class A's ). We weren't quite ready to head home and were hungry. I picked this little hole in the wall on our way home. It was our first time visiting. The owner Steve and Co-Owner Danny both came to tell my nephew that anything he ordered was on the house. We both ate and drank very, very well that night. True to their word, the owners of this long time locally owned establishment really rolled out the red carpet for my young on his way overseas nephew. Well, it's been about 5 years since my first visit. I go once or twice a week now. As much for the people and owners as for the food and drink. There are two sections to the restaurant ( all non-smoking of course ). The back of the restaurant is a small town style tavern where after a couple of visits, don't be surprised if you'll have a conversation with someone who will remember your name. Ok, all that soft and cozy stuff is fine, but what keeps you coming back is the food. All of it is good. For people local to the area, you get 'Jerry's Seafood' quality for a fair price. Seriously folks, order Oysters Lambert and the Lambert Lump. Order Spice shrimp ( splurge for the large, it's worth it and affordable ). Order the chicken cheese steak supreme. The catering menu is always on my holiday ordering list and supplies the front-end to my house parties. Go visit Lambert's. Yes, it's in a strip mall and a little out of the way unless you work at NASA or some job close to Bowie. Just don't be shy, walk in the back, grab a table or a seat at the bar and get ready for some locally owned and operated character. I would love to hear some yelper feedback. We waited for OVER AN HOUR! 45 minutes into the wait... we were told that they ran out of soft shell crab... so we decided on crab cakes. We had crab cakes and fried shrimp. ALL of it was HORRIBLE! NO FLAVOR! The lady taking the orders at the front was very nice! She told us what was good and what wasn't. I asked if the clams were fresh ... she was honest and said that they were frozen. Although he opinion on the other food being good was not accurate... she was very nice. I will not be back. I am so mad that I wasted over an hour waiting for this food. And also wasted calories and time consuming the food.... well, half of it because the other half went right into the trash! Yuck. I went to Lamberts for takeout this past Friday, I had not been here since before Covid-19. I did not realize that it turns into a hangout club like spot on Friday. Trying to get parking just to pick up my food was horrible. I also had my daughter with me, and if I had known I probably would not have placed an order. The food was pretty good for the price. I ordered the seafood combo, which included a crabcake. My daughter had the steamed shrimp. The hush puppies were really good, and I would order them again. We finally tried Lamberts today. We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and were seated quickly. The seafood was good, and I will return to try other things on the menu. I got the crab balls as an appetizer. They came out steaming hot, fresh out of the broiler. My husband got the jalapeno poppers; they were fine, but a little over-fried. For the main meal, I got the steamed shrimp and my husband got the broiled bacon-wrapped scallops. We really enjoyed the crab balls, shrimp, and bacon-wrapped scallops. We each got fries and the salad bar as our sides. The salad bar is limited (typical salad items, cole slaw, potato salad), but sufficient, so I will get it again. Pros: - Seafood is delicious - Server was friendly. She brought the wrong beer on accident, so let us keep it on the house and then brought us the one that we actually ordered - Food preparation was quick, food was served piping hot - Great specials, including discounted appetizers on Saturdays, 3/4 pound of steamed shrimp for $7.99 on Thursdays, half price margaritas on Fridays, Happy hour from 3-6, 10 oz steak for $10 on Wednesdays. Cons: - My only gripe is that the menu prices on the website don't match the menu in the restaurant; they're all a little lower online than what's on the menu in the restaurant. For example, on the online menu, the scallops wrapped in bacon are listed as 10.99, but they were actually 14.99 on the menu in the restaurant. Tips: This is a seafood restaurant, so stick with seafood. The french fries were definitely the frozen and deep-fried kind, I suspect that the jalapeno poppers are, too. Wanted to try something new and should've trusted the reviews. The "online ordering" option was down on their website so we had to call. She told us our order would be ready at the bar in about 25 minutes. When my bf went to pick it up, he said the customer service was awful. He mentioned the bar was full of people, so maybe they only care about their regulars. I wasn't impressed with my food when he brought it home. Being as though yesterday (04/18) was Good Friday & the last day of the Lenten season I went to Lamberts for dinner....by all the great pictures/reviews I thought the experience would have been better but I got PLAYED! APP: I ordered a bowl of cream of crab soup...very salty & lacked the lump crab meat that I was used to from other seafood restaurants in the area. ENTREE: I ordered a crab cake sandwich...now please go back to the picture if the crab cake, this is not what was plated for me...I ordered it broiled & it was soggy and left much to be desired. Side note: sandwiches do come with fixings & cold slaw but all other sides are a la carte A LA CARTE: French fries were AMAZING...they were cooked perfectly! My parents ordered the crab cake with shrimp...the crab cake was the same but I asked to taste a shrimp which was steamed to perfection. I would have taken pics but of course my phone DIED and no charger Now I wouldn't say that I wouldn't go back...I'm just in no hurry. I was in the mood for crabcakes and I've heard about Lambert's for a while. I placed a phone order for the Crabcake platter with hush puppies and onion rings. I got to the restaurant about 20min after I placed my order and it was ready. They gave me french fries instead of hush puppies, but were apologetic about it. Not a big deal... but my crabcakes were straight up breading with a few pieces of crab in it. I only wish I took pictures. It looked nothing like the ones people posted on yelp. I was so perplexed as to how they felt comfortable selling these for $23. I have never seen crabcakes like these before and I can only assume that they ran out of crab meat that night. Lamberts hosted us for 24 folks after a GSFC all day meeting and the folks from out of the area wanted to experience crabs. Lamberts did not disappoint. All U can eat and Jumbos were packed and spectacular. The group RAVED about the hush puppies. The seafood combo platter was amazing too. Shrimp was on point with that perfect pop. I was looking for a neighborhood restaurant to hang out with my sister and stumbled across Lamberts. It was near a car wash and a few other tiny stores but please don't let the area deter you. We went in and was greeted friendly by two guys hanging a huge tv. They said we could sit anywhere so we took our seats at the bar. Anthony the bar tender was very courteous and informative with the menu. My sister ordered the crabcakes and I ordered the seafood platter. Both were delicious. Our cocktails were spot on and the other patrons were respectfully sociable. Although the decor is somewhat outdated, I would certainly return again!! I mean who wouldn't? My friend and I returned for another visit to Lamberts since we were fairly close by, and both love the place. The food was great and the beer was cold, as usual. Now, as to why only 4 stars. I'm in a wheelchair and usually just scoot under a restaurant table or transfer to a booth. For some unknown reason Lamberts has installed towering tables and stools in the back bar which I could not navigate. We were exiled to the deserted front room, away from the good cheer and socializing. Kudos to Solomon, who was very empathetic to my complaint, and to our server, Jennifer. She is a peach. Lambert's is in the cut but it's really good! Our waitress was a bit off lol but when we received our food it was hot and well seasoned. On Saturdays it's 30% off appetizers so we ordered crap dip, sautéed mussels, and crab balls. I didn't try the mussels ( I was scared ) but they said they were good. I enjoyed the dip and crab balls. The crab dip reminded me of a knock of one from Jerry's seafood but still amazing! My son hated his chicken strips I don't blame him they weren't seasoned but I expect that from a seafood place. My lunch dates ordered the seafood sandwiches and had to ask for the lettuce tomato and condiments which was kind of weird. But they did eat all of it. I ordered the broiled crab cakes not the best but far from the worst. Not as filling and flavorful as I like. I will most def come back for the steamed crabs and crab legs. This place was pretty entertaining. It's like stepping back in time to old-time Prince George's. Some of the clientele was a little rough around the edges, like the tough-looking old lady who flossed at the table and left her used dental floss on the center of the table...gross! We had a really nice waiter, but one of the nearby waitresses was pretty flustered and kept messing up orders. Listening to her grumble under her breath and the complaining diners made for good dinnertime entertainment. We were one of only maybe 5 tables dining in, but apparently there's a big bar in the back, and we were later told that there's only two deep fryers, so be prepared to wait. It took 30 minutes to get appetizers and over an hour for entrees, but our waiter was very apologetic. Food was pretty good - maybe not as good as Jerry's down the road, but good and a fraction of the price. The cream of crab soup was delicious. I had a fried platter that was massive. Some of the scallops were over-battered and still doughy, but the shrimp and crab cake were really good. Crab cake was surprisingly good if not a tad salty. Once you enter you will not believe you were in Prince George's County. This place has a deep deep DEEP South hole in the wall feel. The staff was quite friendly and the food was surprisingly good. Decided to check this place out because Jerry's was closed and remembered hearing some good things about it. It reminds me of the bar that they'd hang out at on 'Roseanne' or maybe even Moe's. Lambert's is absolutely dated, so if you're not open to that sort of thing (dim lighting, wood everywhere, "old" smell), you might not want to go here. It was pretty empty on a Monday and the few patrons were obviously regulars as we were eventually referred to as "new people" later during the evening. Employees were friendly and it's a down-to-earth spot overall. We tried the crab cakes, steamed shrimp and crab dip. All were solid, if not overwhelming. I'm big on spice and Lambert's seems big on preserving the integrity of the crab, so the crab cake was all lump, but very light on any seasoning. The same goes for the spiced shrimp, but they get points because those suckers were large. The sides were all pretty good - hush puppies, onion rings, cole slaw - but none stood out . Beers are cheap here. Drafts run about $2.50-$3.00 and bottles were $3.50 and while I didn't order a mixed drink, they serve them in soda glasses so you get your money's worth. Some of the specials that are available on certain days seem like real steals: Thursday is 1 lb. of spiced shrimp for $6.99 and all-you-can-eat crabs (Friday?) for $24.99. All in all, it didn't wow me enough to drive out of my way to visit and I'm still partial to Jerry's, but Lambert's seems a pretty cool place to grab a beer & talk sh!t at. read more

Was in Maryland for the first time & wanted to try my first crab cake. Read reviews close to my hotel & ventured to Lamberts. Server was incredibly helpful for this Midwestern. I went with the combo so I could try a couple other things besides the crab cake. The fish was flaky & flawless, the battered fried shrimp was really good & the hush puppies (as a side) may have been the best thing on the plate. I don't know how to judge the crab, having never eaten it before. I didn't love it but didn't hate it. I don't know how it relates to other places, so not much help here. Could mostly just be I'm not a crab lover. I found out, too, I do not like scallops at all. Environment was pretty low key. Was invited out to Lamberts for a friend's birthday party. Being from DC, this was a hike for drinks and bar food, but hey, I'm up for an adventure. The first thing I noticed, is that I really miss neighborhood joints like this living in DC. The place is definitely filled with locals from the area, so I felt a bit out of place...until Trinity saved the day with her great cocktails! Soon, the group that was throwing the bday party arrived, the DJ started, and the placed started jumping! I know the regulars are not used to this kind of party crowd, but they were real troopers, and served up a great spread of seafood, and great beverages. In my initial review, I had an OK experience that was impacted by a large party's presence. I've since been back (several times) and can say that Lambert's has found its way into my favorite restaurant list. In fact, I've made it my duty to put anyone I can onto this place. It's worth it! First - go on a Saturday. Preferably early to mid-afternoon. You can walk right in and get a table, without waiting on hordes of people. Also, (and more importantly) all their apps are half-price on Saturday! Woo hooo!! I tend to make a meal of the apps because they're that inexpensive and are good portion sizes. I've tried quiet a few things, but have definitely settled into my favorites. First, I love the sauteed mussels. They are plentiful and are made with onion slices and mushroom. They're are tender and flavorful - you really can't miss. The hush puppies are a requirement for me. They are served with butter, but you won't need it. I also enjoy the oysters on the half shell, which have always been fresh and delicious. Honestly, I usually make a meal of the apps, but I highly recommend the fried oyster dinner. Oh. Em. Gee. The crispy, light batter coupled with the robust seasoning of the oysters? Do yourself a favor and order it immediately. Admittedly, the service isn't 100%, but it's not bad either. This is definitely a hidden jewel, and it has a very casual, down-home feel to it. The waitresses are friendly, laid-back and I think they balance the customer load well. Every once in a while, they may get backlogged if there are a lot of people, but it's a rare occurrence. You can tell they're working at Lambert's because they want to be there and I appreciate that. It's Jerry's seafood without the price and unlike Jerry's, does not try to be an upscale seafood place in Lanham. (Not hating, I grew up in Lanham :) ) When my family hosts out-of-towners, we bring them here to appreciate real, Maryland seafood. This place uses the good stuff. Crab dip is a must. You will want to dip everything in it. I ordered the sauteed mussels as an appetizer. The price was $8 so I was imagining a small amount of mussels. The waitress brought out a heaping pile of mussels covered in Parmesan cheese and onion sitting in a pool of wine sauce. SO GOOD. I would've paid $15 for it and I was never a big bivalve-eater.. Apparently it's only $5 on Saturday in the bar. Just about anything is delicious on the menu. My boyfriend loves the cheese steak, and he lived in Philly for a year. I took him here for lunch and was completely surprised by the amount of food you get for the price. The steamed shrimp is perfect. Hands down, the best. When I dream of shrimp, I picture Lambert's.
