Happy Hour menu
Helana J.

Finally got the opportunity to stop at Lamberts Rear bar the bartenders were cool and gave good recommendations. We ordered old bay wings(baked), steamed shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops, catfish bites (swai) with hush puppies and fries. While overall we enjoyed ourselves and the company that was around us, I was really disappointed that my catfish wasn't really catfish and yes I'm one of those people that can tell the difference!!!

Honey old bay wings

This is a cool spot located in Lanham in the cut. I stopped by for happy hour to grab some wings and a drink. I ordered honey old bay wings and they tasted so fresh and were cooked to perfection. They have $8 wings from 4-7. I ordered a margarita which was made by Jessica, she did her thing--yum. I promise she made that drink in less than a minute. The bar was close to full but people were moving along and not holding chairs for hours. The vibe was nice, seemed to be a mixed crowd. I've seen reviewers say that the service was slow here, however I didn't experience the same service. My chicken arrived about 10 minutes after k placed my order and as I said above, my drink was made in a minute or less. There is a restaurant section to this place, however it was closed during my visit. They also had really good music.I would return again.

I've been a couple times before but I came specifically for happy hour to grab a few drinks. I love the atmosphere and the drinks are always strong.

Garlic Parmesan x Buffalo Wings
Kyle W.

Saw their garlic Parmesan wings on TikTok and decided to go try. Got a half and half order of GP and buffalo. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. The wings were overall too large for my liking and the flavor just wasn't totally there. The people who work there are extremely nice and accommodating though. Still a great place to hang out at the bar and have a few small bites.

This review is for the food not the service…read more The interior gives off a nice vibe and they have a set up for a live band. I'm sure when it's peak time it's live in there so I'll have to come back for an event. Went around noon on a Sunday and it was fairly empty so we sat at the bar and were serviced immediately. Strawberry lemon drop - 10/10 - I love a good lemon drop but a I'll never pass up a flavored one. No notes. Shrimp & Grits - 5/10 - don't get me wrong it was GOOD but it was too rich/cheesy to me. I don't know what I was expecting in terms of cheese but I've never had soooooo much cheese in an order of shrimp and grits. I legit pulled a mound of cheese off the top and it was still too much. I couldn't finish this unfortunately, even taking them home for another day didn't work because I couldn't take the richness. Not a slight to them, just a no for me. There was a great amount of shrimp in the dish and the consistency of the grifts were amazing. Just need something to cut through the richness. My friend had: Omelette - 10/10 - said they enjoyed it and would get it again Side of bacon - 10/10 - you got 6 pieces with the order and that was solid to me. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their brunch menu if given the chance. It's a bit out the way so I couldn't see myself traveling for it but if I was in the area I definitely would come back.

Just one other group of me, maybe some jazz music in the background, while we watched Basketball on the screen Best part about SOBEs was Mrs. Elaine, the bartendar. I would rate the food a 2.5/5. I had the shrimp tacos, which lacked flavor. The shrimp was bland. The Bang Bang shrimp was lacked flavor also. We barely touched these, so disappointing. People started showing up @ 7pm. which was $20 to get in. An AMAZING live cover band played at 9pm. By 7:45 pm, there was also a live DJ playing classic hip hop and RnB. That was such a VIBE! The crowd got really thick for the band, you literally had to push your way to the bathrooms. Bathrooms also need napkins to dry your hands with, instead of the nasty air hand dryers

Based on my previous experience, I didn't really know how it would be or if I would enjoy myself, but I want it to be open and give it a chance. There was a DJ, and since the last time I came, the booth moved! The afro beats were going strong. It was pretty busy in there, but there was space to sit at the bar. We just got a round of rails and we're satisfied for the night. The Vibes were pretty awesome and both the patrons and the staff were very nice. Now, if I ever want to go anywhere randomly late at night, I can get here in 10 minutes. I should give the food another shot. I wonder if it is improved over time?

There's a small pool hall attached, which could be a plus for some, but it didn't really change my overall impression of the space. We stayed for maybe five minutes max before deciding to leave. The wings were delicious. I tried the sweet and spicy sesame flavor. It leaned more sweet than spicy, but the flavor was so good. The salad was incredibly fresh. The sweet potato fries had the perfect amount of crunch. We visited on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. Food was also served quickly . It was wasn't o packed or even busy as time of our dinner, but waiter was nowhere to be found half the time. Had to wait for probably 20 minutes after players were cleared for the tab. Bartender was walking around with Birkenstocks on, no socks. All things considered those are his toes that are going to be hurt should something happen but odd nonetheless. Another waiter was wearing AirPods while working/serving. Food was mid at best. I don't recall the last time I ate at a restaurant that proudly served a cheese sauce in their nachos in this year of 2026. I hope they turn it around so the neighborhood has a place to go to.

"I did not have one complaint at Remington's," is an understated way of saying, "I could grow to…read morelove this place." Remington's sits on a long stretch of road with two major towns at each end: College Park and Laurel. There have been nights in bad weather, over the years, driving along this dark road where nothing else in the densely built suburban landscape to the left and right of it was open. But Remington's faithfully was and still is with its lit sign. Sort of like a true outpost in an old Western. Remington's is all bar stools, bar and high-top tables unless you are eating at the picnic tables or smoking cigars and sipping whiskey on the covered outdoor patio. But if you want to eat indoors, I think there are only 4 standard tables in the restaurant. This is a clean and comfortable bar atmosphere with tv monitors for sports. Yelp asked if Remington's was intimate, and yes, because it is, 'dive cozy.' I wonder if Remington's hasn't gotten a fancier menu over the years to keep pace with the not-so-distant University of Maryland students. Since I've never been inside, I wouldn't know how the menu used to be. I was surprised to find - in the outpost-like atmosphere Remington's has always been located in - most burgers are over $18. But this is one place where I'm not complaining because the food was darn good. Our crowd appeared as locals, less elite and middle-aged gathered for the FIFA cup. Let's start with the mussels. If I were a Belgian chef I do not think that I could have made these mussels - and their glorious broth - better. The mussels were tender and flavorful. The cream broth was the best. This broth was the most creamy and simultaneously ultra-garlicky that I've enjoyed. I loved the tomatoes seasoned with a spicy kick. This is a culinary refinement because if they are actually cooked into the broth, the tomatoes would change the color of the white broth, and its taste. These tomatoes were a welcome touch. I don't know if this is a Maryland style of broth but sign me up. I'm talking a mussel broth love affair over here. The cheesesteak was better than most in this area. I wasn't hallelujah-ing in the aisles but I liked that the meat actually wasn't flimsy. It tasted like a thinly-chopped ribeye, a bit chewy with a sear. I liked the size of the strips. Was it actually steak vs. frozen beef paper slices? I think I can say, "yes," it's actually a cheese steak." The Reuben sandwich was well seasoned. I think it was thousand island, but whatever it was had a nice flavor. It's not easy to find Reubens these days. I had a friend who used to go and pick up tamales at Remington's, decades ago, and share them. Now their menu is more American with no tamales. On Yelp, however, I saw an Indian Butter Chicken pizza but I didn't find it this visit. I wonder if it could be requested. They have many varieties of pizza combos. I'm just taking a wild guess and thinking their pizzas are as equally flavorful. I ordered a cranberry crush. Yum! I don't know if it was juice added to another orange, fruity mixture but I loved it. It was sweet at first and then strong: all in the first sip. Sampled beers: 1. The Main Beer Company's "Lunch" IPA. This is straight grapefruit hops on the palette. A characteristic strong body. Bitter as should be for a New England IPA. 2. Bells Two-Hearted IPA (ABV 7.0%): this one was very drinkable and by that I mean I really enjoyed it. It is brewed with centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest. Yes. It is described as having, "hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit." 3. Elysian's Space Dust (ABV 8.2%) is pure IPA. Strong likely from the chinook. It's from Michigan. It's described as a "Great Western premium two row with c-15 and Dextri-pils." Not a beer snob but I appreciate the geeking-out and Dr. Seuss-inspired branding. New England IPA fans will love this one. I'm only a fan of West Coast-style IPA's. 4. RaR Grove City Hefeweisen (ABV 5.3%) is a clear and light hefeweizen. Easy to drink. Highly recommended, with a few added oranges. A half of a ripe white peach would be interesting in this beer, if the bar happened to have them. Remington's markets Whiskey Flights as a way to taste rare bottles. They do not list the prices on these flights. I guess it's an, "if they have to ask ..." scenario. I am intrigued about these whiskey flight prices. I didn't catch the times of happy hour but there is also a golden hour. I also saw daily weekday prices from 7pm and onward. Maybe this is the golden hour. Like the one restaurant open through rain, wind, sleet and snow, serving up its magic faithfully for decades. Whatever the case, this is one dive bar that over-delivers in food and beverage quality and taste. Applause for Remington's! #localtastebyjenny

I asked for a less spicy version of the Alfredo and they made the spice level perfectly! The buffalo chicken dip was the star of the show. It had amazing cheezy flavor with a slight kick and lumps of chicken of the perfect size. I will definitely return!
