What an amazing little find!! Best of both New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ. There are wonderful shops and a number of restaurants within walking distance. The Delaware River is within sight of the hotel. Very clean and elegant rooms. The fireplace kept us nice and toasty while it's freezing outside! It's really, sadly, gone downhill. We have been staying at Lambertville House at least once a year for nine years, but in our 10th we'll stay elsewhere. There used to be a sizable breakfast downstairs, then it went to just a few muffins and coffee. Fine. But now it's just coffee. Nothing else. Even the bottled water in the room used to be included for the high nightly price but a couple years ago they started charging for it. My fiancé drinks tea rather than coffee, but asking for some hot water was like asking for fresh caviar on demand at 8am. I went to the coffee shop across the street in the freezing cold and paid for hot water because the hotel staff couldn't seem to figure out how to come up with some. Two days in a row. We also started staying two nights instead of one a few years back when they added a two-night minimum requirement. So we now spend quite a bit to spend our weekend at LH. Which we were happy to do as long as it felt worth it. We usually have a drink in the bar during our trips and this time we opted to stay and have dinner as well. Our server may have just been having an off night but the service was horrible. I had to get up and go ask the bartender for ice water because our waitress never filled it or checked on us. She wouldn't tell us what was on the charcuterie plate until we pushed (politely) for her to find out. She thought we'd just order it not knowing what meat or cheese we would get. It's a special place to us since we've been going for so long but, for the money, in the future I guess we'll stay somewhere with better amenities and more hospitable staff. The valet guys are always super nice! The building is historic and full of character. The room we always stay in has a fireplace, balcony and large jetted tub, which are some of the pros. The bar is cozy and adorable. The location is perfect! But the all-so-important customer service has dramatically declined over the years, unfortunately. read more

I don't know if it's just because I haven't been to a restaurant in a while or if it's because I had just spent 2 hours taking engagement pictures with my wonderful fiance and was starving, but this place is FANTASTIC. Stopped in for a drink and stayed for appetizers. Nicely appointed bar and lounge. No fireplace but also no annoying music. Excellent service and I got a generous pour of JW Black. Our appetizer was a plate of pita hummus and another spread for $20. A few olives and pickled red peppers. read more

Significant problems in service, food was OK to good. Made a reservation for 16 people to dine in back courtyard. Our group dines regularly at restaurants throughout the area. The woman I spoke to gave me an affirmative for this. When we arrived we were told that they could not serve ousoutside. No reason for the discrepancy but we had planned to eat outside on a beautiful evening. Clearly, they were no prepared to serve our group. Service was slow, overworked and not especially gracious. Some items never arrived. Several people left before their desert. This was 2 1/2 hours after we started.. Of the 16 people at dinner over half said they would not return. If a restaurant cannot handle a reservation they should not take it. read more

Just returned from our much needed getaway from the Lambertville House. We have been to the New Hope area a few times over the years. Sadly we will not be back to this Inn. No one at the front desk to greet arrivals. Waited 15 minutes for a young woman to arrive and was briskly handed a key after being told to pay in full upfront. There was a staff member when we arrived but she would not come out front the desk behind the reception area after calling out "is anyone here". No warm greeting, no communication, not a glass of water to be seen. As I got settled in the small but okay room with dirty windows, stains on curtains....my husband had to make an important business call and went downstairs to find a quiet space as it was pouring rain outside. He was rudely told he must leave the empty restaurant area immediately. Sat. after dinner we walked onto the Inn's porch to finish our ice cream cones about 8:30 PM. My husband cleaned off the dirty dishes/glasses from previous guest and a young waiter walks over and rudely says "you cannot sit here, there is a res for this table. As I look into Inn's restaurant area that is wide open as is there other tables on the porch one. Did I miss some sign that says guests cannot sit on outdoor porch only in their rooms??? Last but not the least.....Sat. night was awakened at approx. 4:30 AM to a horrific screaming fight that sounded like furniture was being thrown around the room above on the fourth floor. Really??? In all our 35 years of travel I have never had such an experience. This establishment could be so special given its history and local. The management has no clue about the hospitality business and could def use the help of Robert Irvine and his Restaurant:Impossible!!! P.S. The second star is for the location!! read more

My husband and I ate there last night for dinner. I have never ever written a review like this but our food was horrible. Our waitress was sweet and attentive but my salmon came out drenched in some type of yellow, extremely salty sauce with rice that tasted hard and old. My husband ordered the Mediterranean chicken that looked so bad the table next to us had to adjust their order once they saw his. His also came out barely warm like it had been sitting there. We've never had dinner here before and were enticed to sit on the porch and have a drink. The atmosphere is great. But I would not recommend the food - absolutely nothing to write home about. We were here today for a late lunch. The waitress was doing the best she could but she was taking care of way too many tables by herself. The service was very slow. The food was only average at best and was barely temperature adequate so I expect the kitchen staff was just as overworked. The table salt and pepper shakers are only for show. They are all empty. We have stayed here every year for 7 years. This year has been so brutal. They raised the cost of the room while taking away all amenities. We were expected to park our car 2 blocks from the hotel and shlep our shit to the hotel. We arrived at our room to discover the tv doesn't work. I picked up the phone to call the front desk and guess what?!? The phone doesn't work!!! This will be our last year here. The experience is beyond awful. So so disappointed at how much this place has gone down hill. Before you say covid- i get it but don't upcharge people dramatically while lessen the service. Mission Impossible: Escape from the Big City! With stress meters in the red zone, I knew it was time for us to get a little R&R. Sure you can take a day or two off and just lounge around on your sofa, watching reruns of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and ordering take out, but sometimes the only way to get back to your old self is to leave the hustle and bustle entirely, and stay some place nice and comfortable. A place you have to drive to, where you don't have to clean up after your self. A place with free parking. A place with complimentary bottled water, breakfast and coffee and tea. A place with a fireplace and a two-person jacuzzi tub and a flat-screen TV and a nice woman who will make your dinner reservations for you. The Lambertville House has all of these things and is quaintly nestled on an adorable little street in Lambertville, NJ, which is only a hop, skip and a jump from New Hope, PA. There are tiny little locally owned coffee shops, vintage clothing stores, tons of art showrooms and galleries, restaurants, cafes and even a brewery! It's the stuff that postcards are made of! The room itself was gorgeous, comfortable and immaculate. The bed was super comfortable, with tons of pillows and blankets...not that you'd need them with the fireplace cranking, and on our floor, there was a complimentary coffee and tea station, where you can help yourself at any time of the day or night. The bathroom was stocked Aveda products, fluffy towels and cozy robes for lounging around...and lounge around we did! Breakfast in the AM runs till 10:30, and featured Belgian waffles, hard-boiled eggs, orange juice and coffee. We ate ours in bed! The service was also exceptional! We were delightfully welcomed and immediately asked if we'd had dinner reservations for the evening. I asked for a 7-8pm reservation at Marsha Brown's and as soon as we got to our room, the phone was ringing with our reservation confirmation. They even happily arranged a late check out for us! A stay at the Lamberville House will surely rejuvenate you! Though you could get a room for less money in Lambertville or New Hope, the home-away-from-home (but still far enough away from home) feel, attentive staff and charming amenities are worth spending a little more! read more

We stayed in a Friday night at the end of the season and right off the bat on the phone they said they'd allow parking before we check in. Loved that, but when we showed up the receptionist actually checked and found our room was ready!!!! Classy act, we went up and checked out the room. Pretty and clean, however it had a jacuzzi tub so there was the expected light mildew smell... but you cannot have a tub like that without it!!! So we were very happy with the room. So that being said, and this is small stuff but for $400 a night I expect posh. Towels. A couple were threadbare on the edge... Just not thick or what I expected. Bathrobes were just dressing gowns.... they need to visit a Cape Resort property. Fireplace. Off for the season, and according to them would be on sept 1st. We stayed sept 2nd. No fireplace. Bathroom heat lamp. Broken control... and housekeeping should have caught it. No biggie but still. TV. Ok it wasn't a CRT or anything but again, $400 a night warrants more than 25". So it was beautiful, but they need to research some of the better groups out there to really shine. read more

What a cute bar and restaurant area! We stopped by the Lambertville House when walking around town. We sat at the bar which had about 10 stools and quickly made friends with the other patrons and the bartenders. The view out on to the street was nice and there were seats on the covered porch and out back there was a nice patio. The inside was quaint. The Lambertville House is a beautiful boutique hotel centrally located on Bridge Street in Lambertville, NJ and only a minute walk to the Delaware River and the bridge to New Hope PA. It is decorated with period looking furniture but all of the modern convinces and luxuries. There is a large off street parking lot but it does get filled on busy nights. The hotel houses a fine restaurant and cocktail lounge. It also facilitates banquets and meetings. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and inviting. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom featured a whirlpool tub and beautiful tile and granite. The wallpaper was peeling off but that wasn't a bother. The room had a gas fireplace which kept us warm and the setting romantic. We had a great night's sleep. I will certain stay at The Lambertville House again and highly recommend this lovely hotel. read more

This adorable, quaint inn is perfectly situated on bridge street in the middle of town, is reasonably priced for the area--and the high quality--and has some of the nicest staff. We booked a Sunday night stay off-season to go check out the rooms to ensure the quality for a wedding block we're booking. We got a king with a fireplace and two-person jacuzzi tub for $215 plus tax, which included continental breakfast. We opted for the carriage house as we like the idea of our own entrance and privacy. The site described it as behind the inn in/off the lot but we didn't realize that meant a parking space abutted our window, meaning a car was literally five feet from our bed. Our bad for not asking exactly what that meant. Luckily this was only an issue when the parked car outside our window left at 11pm and it's engine and lights disturbed us. That only happened once so not a big deal. I'd say Off-season, the location was fine. On season I'd advise against the king carriage suite for noise reasons. That said we enjoyed the amenities, the bed was super comfy, the jacuzzi was awesome, the tv offered 200 channels, and we had a mini fridge. Other pluses: the inn does not require two-night stays, which is great for a wedding block; the bar serves up amazing drinks in a cozy atmosphere; you get free bottled water--key after a night of carousing in town; and had that intimate feeling you want in lambertville. After our stay we determined we will book this for our wedding and that our guests will be delighted to stay here. As for us, we can't wait to come back & stay in a king room in the inn and enjoy more sidecars on the front porch in the nice weather. read more

Now the bad - the food was average and bland. We had the chefs choice cheese plate and the alpine cheese flatbread. They were some of the blandest cheeses we've ever had and the flatbread tasted old. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Valerie helped me book the perfect room with a gas fireplace & jetted tub. There was endless hot water to fill the tub & it stayed warm for 45 min. Very clean & room looked just liked the pictures. Parking on site & you can walk the main drag from the hotel. Aveda products in the room & lots of natural sun light from the large windows. The bed was so comfortable & had good support. I felt so relaxed & rejuvenated after my stay. read more

First I have to say we've stayed here a few times and the rooms are beautiful and spotless, this past Saturday we were unable to get a room here and booked another place from a booking site, needless to say once we drove in and went to the porch of the place we booked it was closed for renovations!! Horrible right, there were other couples too with their bags and now wondering what to do. We drove over to the Lambertville House just in case there may have been a cancellation, there wasn't but the manager and girl working the front desk went over and above to help us, they called other Inns and found one for us in town with similar rate. I can't tell you how considerate that was and saved the day so we had a room for the night!! The Lambertville house was an amazing experience, the food was incredible. Glen our server, was very helpful and informative. We arrived around noon midweek and enjoyed a table on the front porch. We ordered mimosas and they were delicious. We had a light lunch which included a cheese platter that Glenn had suggested and we got a delicious chocolate mousse dessert. The servings are small and the price was high, but it was a very nice experience to sit on the porch and watch the busyness and hustle and bustle of the Lambertville shoppers. We as locals for three yrs and a local worker wanted to try this place so on a local week night with $5 drinks and apps we stoped took us over 15 mins to get drinks then and we ordered three apps then hour later server never came back one other young server kept asking us if she could help even though off duty we ask her to ask if apps where coming out if not cancel order as our friends where at a table next to us she came back said we told buy kitchen that looks like food won't come out we said then cancel and we not paying anything and we out then they had nerve to charge our friends the tab and then came out with the food after we left they took food off still charge for two cocktails and $5 for a coke and $5 for ice tea we will never go back read more

It's probably one of the better choices in Lambertville of course there aren't too many choices here. Their parking lot is minuscule so be prepared to park two blocks away and schlep all your luggage. Also do not expect anyone to help you with anything you're on your own. Think B&B. The rooms are fairly clean, the decor it is a mish mash of antiques...think great grandma's bedroom. Definitely I wouldn't come back unless there are no other choices. read more

OK, This review is for the actual stay at their "bed and breakfast". Let me start by saying my overall experience was not good. The staff was super friendly and nice. The place overall was nice but for my taste i would rather stay at a toned down bed and breakfast were your stay is a bit more on the intimate side. That being said this place almost felt like a regular hotel. They are part of the "select registry" which is why I stayed to begin with. We had an issue with the bed more specifically the legs of the bed frame gave in while we were watching tv. I sold beds and frame for a living in the past so based on the knowledge I had I can tell you the bed frame was the cheapest I have ever seen. plus one of the cross support was missing. To make a long story short they "made it right" by removing the bed frame and putting the bed on the floor and refunding my money. But this didn't happen easily I had to talk to the owner who was not on site and tell him that a 20% discount wouldn't do. this took time and unfortunately added stress to the trip. I didn't give it one star because of the fantastic employees working there including the Bartender who went to my room to get the bed off the frame and headboard and the restaurant manager who assisted. Not to mention Claudette the front desk person who took care of me. The owner is very lucky to have people like this working for him. As for Mr. Mason the owner, he really shouldn't be in the hospitality business because he knows nothing about being hospitable. Breakfast was run of the mill crap. Nothing special and I guess because I'm accustomed to traditional B&Bs this was sub par. The rooms were super clean and nice. The place itself was nice but overall I would not stay here because the owner didn't make it right quick enough. he was trying to see if he can get away minimal comps. read more

As a trained chef, I was incredibly disappointed in this place. My husband and I went for lunch on Sunday 10/16. We had the escargot with Brie and bacon, the escargot were like rubber balls and there was entirely too much rind left on the cheese. My husband had a special, the knock wurst which really was 2 1/4 lb hot dogs with a few potatoes for $17.50. I had chosen to do a cheese plate... The chorizo tasted like truck exhaust smells, the "toast points" tasted like 3 day old clarified butter and was way too hard and over powering to pair with cheeses. All of that plus the service was horrible, it was 30 minutes before we even saw our waitress and it took 2 1/2 hours for us to get simple things.
