My wife and I went here on a Friday evening. We had reservations for 730 but finished our other items early. We asked the very nice young lady at hostess desk if she could accommodate us early. She quickly checked with her servers and got us a table. She was very helpful. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice. There were nice art work on the walls. There was also a very nice patio with heaters that liked very nice. Our waitress Abbe was very nice helpful. She gave us some great suggestions on what was good. Keep up the great work Abbe!! We started with the spicy tuna tartare and spring rolls. The tartare was very good. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be but had a small kick. I really liked it. The spring rolls were great. Wow, this place was PACKED! Even though we weren't able to get a table in the main dining area upstairs, my boyfriend and I still got a cool spot at the mini sushi bar downstairs. We didn't mind at all, especially since we were able to watch the sushi chefs make our rolls in front of us. We felt bad that our server had to run between both floors, but she was very nice about it! For such a packed restaurant and the arrangement of our seats, our food came at a decent time. We had a delicious dinner at Nozumo last evening. Food was very good and service was attentive. Sushi is fresh and well presented. I agree with other reviewers that the spicy rice tots were a real treat for an appetizer. I do have one complaint - the vegetable dumplings were terrible. Never experienced an asian restuarant that could not turn out a delicious dumpling, but these were poorly done. Just dough with about a quarter of a teaspoon of what tasted and looked like cabbage. Very cute trendy place. I was psyched to try this place. Six of us had a great table on the second floor. Actually it looked as though the sushi bar and a few seats at that sushi bar only were on the first floor...the rest of the dining was on the second floor. I like that it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation without having to shout. Our server, Rose, quickly greeted us, brought us water and an ice bucket for our wine as we waited for our other guests to arrive. Gotta love a good BYOB! Rose was very efficient, friendly, and timely throughout our entire meal. She was excellent and I appreciated her excellent service. We all ordered sushi except one ordered the teriyaki chicken. The sushi was delicious. The winner was the new Hope roll. I ordered sushi from the specials of the night...the new hope roll was better. Unfortunately, the teriyaki chicken was burnt, dried out and not good. Three of us tasted it and we all agreed it was something not to be ordered again. Sad to say it was a waste. Probably should have sent it back but hate to send food back as it throws off the whole dinner. Parking in New Hope is quite challenging especially on a beautiful fall Saturday night...leave extra time for that. Overall, the sushi was fresh and good, but I was not blown away. I come to New Hope Pennsylvania several times a year. Great place to visit, great retail stores and restaurants. I gave them a solid 5 stars, despite one small hiccup. The restaurant is cozy, nice decor, small sushi bar downstairs, upstairs has two dining spaces and an outdoor area as well. They have a great atmosphere, everything is clean including the bathrooms, courteous, attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere, fair price's, not rushed at all, our server Abby was AWESOME!, the food was great except for 1 dish. We started with edemami which came out steaming hot and was fresh. We also had the steamed veggie dumplings, you get 6 pieces. They are BYOB as well. We also had the candle roll which was a special and the New Hope roll which was spicy tuna, avocado and crunch topped with salmon, tobiko, scallions, kabayaki sauce and house spicy sauce. Really awesome roll. The Kalbi- Korean marinated Short Ribs were disappointing. Amanda one of the owners came over after our server asked how everything was. We felt bad complaining the short ribs, although they were very thin, lots of bone and tough. Amanda was genuinely concerned, offered desert on the house. We just had tea, as we know everything else was great. Amanda and their entire staff understand what great customer service looks like. The menu has a great variety to choose from. I would recommend they revamp the entrees as there are only 4 of them. What a lovely spot in New Hope! The restaurant itself has a really cool, industrial look to it, and the staff is so so nice. Not pictured is the tuna tartare appetizer that was *chef's kiss!* Our favorite roll was the Ragin Cajun followed closely by the special Mango Explosion; so definitely go try it while it's still available! The salmon belly was also fantastic. Some of the rolls left a bit to be desired but overall VERY fresh tasting ingredients. The mochi ice cream was a lovely treat to end the meal. Although the sashimi was well crafted and presented, the Miso soup tasted the same as any other place, and the lack of interesting options on the menu left us hungry afterwards. The food tasted great...everything was flavorful and it was nice to see some new/different rolls that aren't standard on the typical sushi menu. The only down side (while not affecting the flavor) but still a bit disappointing was the knife skills on the fish/rolls. We had several pieces of fish that we practically falling apart, had slices through their centers or the rolls simply weren't created well and fell apart when touched by our chopsticks. Went last nite w friends. Service and atmosphere were fine. I mistakenly ordered the chicken teriyaki. It was terrible! Over cooked and poorly prepared. The others, who ordered sushi dishes were pleased though. My wife said hers was on a par with Oishi in Newtown but she felt that Oishi had better pricing. Certainly the parking situation in Newtown is far superior to that in New Hope. On a plus side though Nozomu is a BYOB. Oishi is not. I was sadly disappointed but perhaps that's evidence that when you go to a sushi restaurant you are better off ordering sushi. Oh, and BTW, the owner game over after the meal to speak w one of the couples we were with .. they have been patrons for years. She managed to ignore the others. Very nice Japanese restaurant in New Hope. Cool street frontage design and a simple yet nice atmosphere inside. I think this is the best Japanese restaurant available in the Lambertville / New Hope area. The servers were nice and prompt. The menu was mostly a sushi / sashimi menu which was fine. There is an outdoor dining area, however it was 100% humidity the night we went so we sat inside. :). I think table seating is the choice to go with here. Very important to note that it is a BYOB restaurant so bring a bottle of sake if you desire. The liquor & wine store across the street sells chilled sake. Enjoy. :) read more

Four of us had dinner at Nozomu. We tried 3 appetizers - tuna tartare (not very flavorful), edamame (squishy) and spring rolls (they were ok). For dinner we tried the sushi sashimi platter - which included white tuna to our disappointment since it isn't tuna: dragon and New Hope rolls - both of which had minimal flavor. Excellent sushi for the 'burbs with a great atmosphere and higher quality sushi than its competitors in the area. Service is exceptional very present pleasant and cool as well as skilled. There is a friendliness to the staff that has me wanting to patronize the establishment again and to become a regular! Fish was very good with a few standout options such as salmon belly, amaebi (raw shrimp with fried heads) and perfectly formed not shriveled ikura (salmon roe). Rice was good as well with a nice form, stickiness and a pleasant temperature. Maybe could have used a touch more vinegar but still much more interesting than other so-called sushi restaurants in the area. Presentation was stand out and their sashimi cuts generous and again nicely planted. Ginger was decent quality although the wasabi is the faux variety. I could have done with fewer of the weird Americanized rolls and they had a couple specials in that vein that I promptly ignored. Sometimes they have toro and uni which is another reason to return! It is a bit loud but that might be a good thing because it gives the restaurant a dynamic energy. Good service; fish is fresh; sushi chefs are friendly, imaginative, and have high attention to detail. Waitstaff is friendly and helpful, and one of them is even Japanese (like me). It finally happened. New Hope got a high quality Sushi Bar and Restaurant! And a BYO as well - awesome. A visit to Nozomu one week after they opened found a very professional operation with a staff that has worked together in the past handling the Saturday night crowd. The menu offers a large variety of specialty rolls, Nigiri, Sashimi and fun apps on the sushi theme. Also on the menu, ceviche and fried oysters. I sat at the sushi bar downstairs, there is a large sit down dining space upstairs. I am a raw sushi fan so at the chefs recommendation I gave the sushi deluxe a try. Despite the crowd I was served in a reasonable time, first a Miso Soup (fine, with modest amounts of seaweed) and then the sushi tray. Excellent quality fish at just the right temperature, with very lightly seasoned rice. Real grated wasabi root was a very nice touch. Friendly, casual atmosphere and great service from the host and other waitstaff. I'm excited to visit again soon with a bigger group. read more

Porch and indoor seating area make for a unique vibe upstairs. Indoor gets loud between music and the slight echo from the high ceilings/hard surroundings. Clean menu layout that was easy to read, with clearly marked gluten free alteration options. Service was very friendly and attentive, which was not expected given the trendy feel and young servers. The rice tots were an interesting app. Sushi was expensive and tasty, but not above average in terms of taste or presentation- same with the salmon teriyaki (just average). My husband and I dined here for our 20th anniversary together Saturday night and I couldn't have been more pleased with our experience and our food! We ordered Pork Dumplings, a Sushi Regular, Ikura Nigiri, Naruto roll, Sweet heart roll, Salmon poppers, Philly roll and a Dynamite roll. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to sushi but I absolutely LOVED The Sweet Heart roll, My fave of the night when I usually steer away from spicy tuna. My husband's favorite was the salmon poppers and dynamite roll. although not my cup of tea to have tasted myself, he enjoyed the savory, sweet, and heat! The ambience of the place was also really cool with the sushi bar down on the 1st floor and tables on the 2nd it was a unique experience from what we're used to, perfectly suited for this cozy town. for a small dinning area it was quite loud with patrons enjoying themselves which we love that it didn't feel quiet and stuffy but for folks with Auditory disabilities like us it may be difficult to communicate with each other just a heads up for anyone else with disabilities. Towards the end of our meal things did quiet down, Our server was fantastic very well timed in checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed, Zach is a gem, and Amanda was there as well and stopped in to see how everything was too, she had me in stitches ribbing my shy husband a bit, a very light hearted friendly experience you can see just how much she cares about her patrons New Hope is truly blessed to have Nozomu in their community. I found these guys on here over a year ago and routinely pop in. The place has got to be one of the best spots for sushi in the area. Their food is always delicious, consistent, and there is always something new to try. The staff & owners are always happy and fantastic, they strive to give a one-of-one experience and deliver on that every time! Tried this place twice. We are sushi nuts, so had high expectations. Cool space. Apps were great and fish is always fresh. Our consistent complaint is the rice. While we love properly mixed rice (with rice vinegar), it's either overdressed here, or uses an off tasting rice vinegar (much too sweet) that overtakes the fish. This may seem picky but the rice is a close second to the fish in terms of importance. The other item is the back patio. During cold months servers are in/out, which is to be expected but the frigid air overtakes the upper seating area causing for a very uncomfortable experience. I'd add a vestibule and ceiling heater in the vestibule to counter the air flow. read more

It was clear she wanted us to dine there. I don't always get that feeling when I call places around here. When I arrived, I was greeted by more helpful and kind associates. The food was great and the food was prepared wonderfully. I was impressed with the service and quality of food. I noticed some people mentioned the food is expensive. Most dining options in this area are above market price and I didn't think it was crazy. I am proud to say Nozomu is in my hometown and I hope they are here to stay.
