Lambs Farm has been around since 1961 and could use some upkeep. There is plenty of parking and there was a small line of people waiting to get in on a Sunday morning. The entrance fee was nominal and included a dismal miniature golf course. We also bought a bag of hay to give to the animals, a ride on the carousel and a ride on the tractor pull. It was fun to feed the animals and all the kids giggled as they did it, which was hilarious. The miniature golf course is in total disrepair and needs help. The greens are torn up and any obstacle is about to fall over. This would be a good fundraiser project by the Boy Scouts or several companies. The carousel could also use a paint job, but the kids still loved it. The tractor pull was also enjoyable for the kiddos, but not the smoothest ride for adults. read more

I have been going to Lambs Farm for YEARS. I used to bring the children that I nannied for at least once a month, and now I get to bring my own little tot. The train ride is almost always broken down, it has been for a solid 10 years. The wooden carousel is getting a little janky, but it's only $2, and standing parents are free. Admission is $5/person and includes mini golf, 2 and under are free. And a bag of hay is only $1. So if you're on a budget, this is a solid farm to visit and a great learning experience. There's also a cute little playground on the opposite side by the farm stand and cafe. I've also been to various puppy yoga sessions hosted by local studios, and those are always a blast and benefit the farm as well. I will say that the last time I was here, one of the teenagers in the barn that houses the snakes was intentionally squirting the cats with water guns to upset them, and I didn't find that very entertaining. USDA Animal Welfare Violations: Lambs Farm received an Official Warning from the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) in April 2022 for an alleged violation of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). The alleged violation on March 21, 2022, was related to the handling of animals in a manner that "does not cause trauma, overheating, excessive cooling, behavioral stress, physical harm, or unnecessary discomfort". OSHA and Health Department (Bed Bugs): In 2015, the organization battled a bed bug infestation. At the time, an ABC7 report noted that OSHA and the Illinois Department of Public Health had inspectors at the facility, and Lambs Farm stated they had complied with all recommendations. Legal Settlements (Discrimination): Lambs Farm was sued in 2005 for allegedly violating federal rehabilitation, fair housing, and disability acts after turning away a man who was HIV positive. The lawsuit was later settled, but reports indicated the organization had its own rule regarding individuals with communicable diseases, which a state public health spokeswoman clarified was intended to ensure proper medical care, not to exclude people from group housing. read more

I have heard some great stories about this farm, so I decided to give it a visit. The farm is family friendly and had some wonderful animals residing at it. We are allowed to feed the animals hay and pet them. The goats were especially greedy and grabbed a whole bag of hay from us with their teeth. But, they were funny and energetic. The horses were so friendly and allowed us to come pet them. Each animal had a fun story to read that tells everyone a little about who they are and how many years they have been on the planet. The farm closes at 4, so we did no get to sit down at their restaurant but we got a chance to purchase to go salads that were delicious! The homemade baked goods are scrumptious as well. read more

When in the neighborhood, no matter your age, be sure and stop by for a visit!!!!! Five dollars to tour the animal farm where the animals are beyond friendly...one dollar for a sack of hay to feed the entertaining beasts, a little extra for a relaxin train ride and a trip around on the carousel...it all adds up to $$ and time well spent!!! When you're finished at the farm, wash your hands well and head on over to the cafe for a delicious sandwich served up by some of the sweetest staff! The chips and fries are all freshly made. The sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had! Don't eat and run; take a stroll through the thrift store and country market...bring yourself home a scrumptious treat. Got the kiddos with you? Let them play just outside on the playground while you shop. Run mostly by those who have been met with challenges in life but have pushed themselves to be overcomers; they are preciously sweet and friendly and eager to serve. Visiting Lamb's Farm was one of my fall highlights this year. I had previously heard about how wonderful a place it was but after all of these years living in the south suburbs, I had never gotten up to visit. I was lucky enough to get to tour Lamb's farm and then spend some time afterwards in the Country Store and Bakery. The first thing I noticed on my way in is that you can see the baking/confectioners process through the windows and you get to see everyone at work! It was neat to get an inside look into the behind-the-scenes process. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with the wonderful smell of baked goods as well as a WALL of different kind of butters and jams - my personal dream (I ended up getting pumpkin and pear butter and both were delicious). All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly while we were shopping and they told us about the process of making a few of the treats. It was really wonderful to hear personal accounts about how happy the staff were to work and live at Lamb's Farm. Visiting Lamb's Farm was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the community and get some great treats! I'll definitely be back to visit the country store again as well as the pet shop to pet the puppies. (: read more

Visited Lambs Farm yesterday with my son's family and g kids - 3 and 4 year olds ! Wonderful day for these kids! And adults as well !!They loved the train ride ,feeding the goats and horses,and the free miniature golf was a big hit ! We actually enjoyed a delicious lunch -we had a Cobb salad ,the portobello sandwich , seasoned homemade kettle chips -so yummy ! We've lived in Libertyville for many years and will certainly be back for lunch again soon ! It was a very inexpensive treat for the kids and adults ! read more

This quaint shop is located within the perrimiters of this idyllic setting (except that it's right next to the highway overpass and exit). They offer jams, pastrys, juices and alot of hand made gift items. Visiting the Farm is a wonderful treat for children of all ages. I had a really relaxing time. But you can't not visit this store before leaving. I recommend picking up some homemade jams they sell here. I believe they will be open for the holidays. You could burn this store to the ground and the only thing I would miss would be the candy selection and the homade cookies , that's more than enough for me. Oh my god was the peanut butter cookie good , bordering on orgasmic. I didn't partake of the candy , but from the looks of things , I got the feeling they were just as good. I give a crap about nick knacks , preserves and pepper infused oils ,but the sweets are the stuff. read more
