They incorrectly diagnosed what was a simple fix on my gas cap door. I had to order the part ahead of time, waited more than a month until they could get the part in and schedule a time to fix it, and then on the day of repair they proceed to tell me they had originally misdiagnosed the issue and that I'd have to start from scratch and order a new, more expensive part, including a more costly repair job because of increased labor time. When I refused and said I wanted a complete refund of the money I'd already paid for the original part, the rep told me he'd have to consult with their accounting department to process the refund. No effort on their part to make it right by offering to pay the difference for the new part, discount the repair job, or even immediately credit my bank account for the incorrect part (they had no issues charging me immediately when I paid for the part funny enough)...nothing but a shrug and a vague promise that I'd get a call from them "in a few days" to process my refund. And guess what? I haven't heard from them since. The motto at the top of their invoices reads, "Every customer leaves with a smile." Certainly was NOT the experience I had. My advice? Take your vehicle to a trusted national brand like Caliber and don't waste your time with a local shop that is sloppy, poorly managed and values their bottom line over customer satisfaction. read more

Steve repaired the glass on my 2013 Ford fusion last week and he kept me updated and explained everything. I called the shop that night because my blower motor was really loud and it was not prior to my glass getting replaced. I figured it was a coincidence because I know Steve was very efficient but I called and left a message for Hayden in the office. Steve called me bright and early the next morning, (he knew I am an early bird, and remembered it from our conversation) and her came right over at the start of his day to check out my car. I came out to look as he explained that my glass did not shatter so it's unlikely that a piece would've fallen but in order to be sure, I was sent to the Burnsville shop. Mike, shop manager, had staff look at my car and they confirmed Steve's thoughts. Now I am going to schedule my mechanical work and replacement of 4 tires because of how much I trust Steve as well as his referral to Mike at the Burnsville LaMettry's Collision! I was in a Car accident in October 2021, and It was first brought to LaMettry;s New Brighton but then sent to Maplewood due to availability, orignally est date was 12/10/2021 and now its 12/22 and was told possibly get it done by Christmas as I have been using rentals and Ubers to get to sons and my dr appointments. then was told it would be done 12/21 not today 12/22 I am being told possible Monday 12/27, I get shipping issues and making sure its correct, but it has been in shop since 10/2021, and being a single mom and recovery from accident rentals and Ubers are expensive, I appreciate troy E wanting it to be a good job and not rushed , but I just wanted my truck back before Christmas to go see family now i cant after rentals are too expensive for that drive. just hate it keeps getting pushed back and back further. its just depressing over all since its the holidays read more

After over a year of having to take my vehicle back for collateral damage they say they didn't do, peeling paint, then noticing OEM replacements parts were not use as I clearly request, it just doesn't make sense! After I posted the description below, within 3 hours I recieved a call from a manager at LaMettry apologizing and acknowledging that they have a number of new employees due to growth. He was very gracious on the phone and I greatly appreciated their follow-up. It is always a good sign when companies are monitoring and responding to customer service issues on Yelp! ---------------- Totally a hassle with communication! Broken system. I thought this would be a smooth and easy process; after all the Carousel Audi dealership was the one that referred me after my wife's car was rear ended on a freeway exit ramp. It started out fine, meeting Chris from La Mettry at the Audi dealership where he is stationed most days from 9-3. Once they were able to track him down he was able to take the car and write up an estimate. A few days later once the insurance company claim came through, I got a call from a low end call center with someone who's first language was not English, to scheduled a drop off date. They also agreed to arrange a rental car that I wold pick up at LaMettry's On Thursday prior to the Monday appointment, there was a voice mail from Aaron at LaMettry's saying that one part had to come from Germany so we needed to reschedule. No problem, stuff happens, I thought. As I was unable to reach Aaron, I was able to reach Chris after several attempts who confirmed a delay and promised to inform the rental agency and get back to me when the part was available. Monday I had a voice mail late in the afternoon saying the part had arrived and we could get on the schedule for Tuesday if we wanted, just one day later than the original schedule. I tried several times to reach Chris to confirm but was again not able to reach him live so left a voice mail around 4:30. At 5:30 pm on Monday I got a call from the rental car company asking if I was still meeting up with them to drop off the car. No one from LaMettry's had gotten word to them about the schedule change. First thing Tuesday, I tried again to call Chris to determine if I was to drop off the car that morning or not. Again after several rings, it went to his voice mail. I called the main number and the phone was answered promptly and the receptionist asked if I wanted to be transferred to his direct line-I said "no, he never answers his phone." She was able to get him on the line and he confirmed that I could bring the car in whenever was convenient. I said that I would be there in 15 minutes since I live nearby. I arrived 12 minutes later but the receptionist couldn't find the paperwork for the repair. Word had gotten to the rental car agency and the agent was waiting and got me a car fairly promptly once LaMettry's reprinted everything. I'm hoping their repair work exceeds their ability to communicate and coordinate with customers. I guess if a big chunk of your money is coming from insurance companies paying the bill (in our case over $1600 for a scratched plastic bumper and bent tail pipe) maybe it's not so critical how you deal with the claimants. read more

I had been a huge fan boy of this shop for years, but the last two repairs have been excessively slow, to the point we had to repeatedly complain in order to shove them over the finish line. And, when you call for a status on how the work is going, they rely on platitudes and lies to shut you up and secure another week with your car. They actually told me they didn't yet know what parts were damaged two weeks AFTER they submitted the estimate. They said they were waiting to order parts until they had the full list. Isn't the estimate based on what parts of the car are damaged? A blatant lie. The second time I called they told me they couldn't find a bumper cover for a common GM model. Complete BS. That bumper cover is available everywhere, and I'm sure I could find a dozen of them in 20 minutes. I have done a dozen repairs with this shop, but I will never come again. I've recommended this shop to a dozen people, and I've contacted them all and retracted it. Never lie to a customer. read more

LaMettry's Collision needs to improve its project management and estimating procedures. We had to wait 5 weeks for a rear bumper repair. The estimate was not accurate because it did not include a hitch. It was totally obvious to even a novice myself, as the hitch was protruding out of the bumper upon inspection. The agent leading the project for us did not even make an appearance when we announced we were on the way to get our vehicle. Unnecessary stress and frustration during the entire process. This place is just not doing a very good job with customer service. My wife's car has been sitting at their shop for nearly 3 weeks now...they continue to promise us that it will be ready, then we find out that it is not. It seems like it is no big deal to them when it comes to getting paid by the insurance companies. We have had to rent a car on 2 separate occasions because they can't seem to finish things on time...with the first day of school for my son being messed up because we had to go over to their shop and get yet another rental because they couldn't deliver on time. Where does it end? They simply expect people to just get a rental, pay for it, and wait while they prioritize all the other cars and trucks in front of yours. I am filing a complaint with my insurance agent and asking to have LaMettry's removed from the preferred body shop options so that nobody else has to wait 3 weeks for a repair to happen. With so many other body shop options out there - I hope that you strongly consider how you want to be treated as a customer when you are looking for a shop. Shame on LaMettry's for not doing a better job taking care of your customers. read more

I will NEVER go back to this outfit. They quoted me $549.93 for glass and body work. I picked up my truck 2 days later and they said i owed $398 more. It took so long to iron out the situation i was late to the airport. Never again. I gave them a check for the $549.93 and they wanted more money. Had a chip in my windshield - Tried Lamettrys glass service. Unfortunately it did not fix the small chip and then turned into larger chip. Returned to Lamettry Eden Prairie, was told sometimes it does not take. I was told to call the Service to get my $50 back and the whole windshield should be replaced. The typical daily storage cost for a vehicle is $20-$30. There is even a place in Minneapolis that does it for $18/day! LaMettry's charged me $1,425 for 15 days $1,425/15 days = $95/day My insurance company only covers $50/day meaning I am on the line for the remaining $45/day. Which in this case is $675. I was never made aware of the daily storage charge. In fact a LaMettry's rep said I wouldn't be charged anything. Then when I went to release my vehicle I was lied to by a clerk who told me it's a flat rate of $50/day. Nope! All lies and have now been getting the runaround. Overall, unethical business practices, rude manager and would heavily recommend you don't bring your business here. Will be contacting the Federal Business Bureau on this matter. read more

Thank you to Brian Olson & the team at Lammetry's! On the first snowy day of the year I wrecked my car. I called and I was able to take my car in right away. I am a student so this type of situation is not only emotionally upsetting, but financially as well. Since I could not pay to fix the car I left it at Lammetry's until I could have it towed. My passenger side car window was smashed in a few nights ago and my purse was stolen. After reporting it and dealing with the cops I got home around 10:30pm and sent LaMettry's Collision an online appointment form. Allen called me right away the next morning and proceeded to guide me through the glass replacement process with kindness, patience, and efficiency. He found the last window for my dated car and got it to arrive on their morning run so my car could be fixed that same day. He also called my insurance company with me to make the whole process easier, and arranged for me to get a ride back home so I wouldn't have to wait at the shop for my car to be done. Everyone who helped me out at LaMettry's was so nice and accommodating. I couldn't believe it. Hopefully I won't need any glass replaced again in the near future, but if I do, I'm calling LaMettry's. read more

We had a car accident and Lamettry's is one of the recommended body shops by our insurance company. We highly recommend them!!! We worked with both the Lakeville and Eden Prairie shops. Unfortunately we were without a vehicle for 5 weeks. They called us at least twice a week to keep us informed of what parts they were waiting for and where they were in the repairs. We received our vehicle when promised. Although the majority of the work was internal, our vehicle is as good as new and looks great. They even helped us out with a great deal on new tires since one had to be replaced anyways due to the accident. As far as the customer service......TOP NOTCH. It seems as though everyone has taken a "kindness class". Everyone we worked with is very helpful, humble and kind. We definitely would use Lamettrys again! read more

I stopped at LaMettry's for an estimate for a damaged tailgate on my truck. They wrote an estimate and it was slightly higher than the competition. I thought I would keep the business with a locally owned company. I was told I needed to pay for the cost of parts before they would order them. Fine. I was told to bring my truck in on Tues., which was a week after placing the parts order. Fine. The Friday before the Tues drop off, I got a call that they wanted the truck on Monday to remove the gate. Fine. I went in Monday and the gate was removed. I was told I would be called two days before they wanted the truck back to install the tailgate. On Tues I got a call that I needed to drop the truck off to have the gate removed and the new one installed. I told the customer service rep that the gate was already removed and the new gate needed to be installed. Total confusion. She would get back to me. The next day I called to follow up since I hadn't received a call. I was told to drop the truck off on Thurs and it would be ready midday on Friday. Friday comes and no call. I call to follow up. Said they would get back to me shortly. Two hours later I decide to just show up and collect my truck. I arrive and am presented with a bill that was 20% more than the original estimate! Totally unacceptable. The CS didn't have the original estimate and asked me for mine which I produced. She was unable to reconcile the two. She gets a manager. He attempts to justify additional costs and why they were necessary. A 20% increase over the original estimate is not acceptable. I've been here almost an hour trying to get this resolved. I will not work with this company if I ever need auto body repair in the future. I try to work with the local guys and it just wasn't a good experience. Very unsatisfied. read more

Took my Tesla in since this is one of the only shops around approved to repair them. Parts took a few months (mostly Tesla's fault but when I went in physically to check on the parts they had magically arrived). So this didn't start out very good. Repair was estimated at 2 weeks and they were actually done 1 day early, so at least they were done on time. During the repair period I drove by the shop. My car was half completed and parked outside in the lot (Rear door still off and trunk ajar). There was some plastic taped across the door opening, but not very well. So, and wind/rain would easily get in both my trunk and back seat. NOT COOL! I promptly notified them and did notice through my cars Apps that it was parked indoors for the evening. Picked up my car (it wasn't in the regular shop so I had to drive to their tire place around the block). My car seemed to have been run through a car wash so relatively clean on the outside, but the inside was sloppy. The rear seats were folded down, the trunk cover was laying across the trunk and back seat area..it just wasn't put back together to be presentable. Took me 30 seconds to get it back in shape. That's just sloppy and made me on alert to really check the repairs. Repairs weren't what I'd have expected (except the paint job that actually does look like new). Paint was the bright spot. The gap between the trunk and rear quarter panel was not up to standards. Probably acceptable for a large wreck, but my car barely had damage and nothing was twisted. Thought they couldn't done better. Also, the trim replace around the window on this door was poorly done. This trim should be flush to the body panel and it sticks out about 3/8th of an inch. Enough to snag your hand really good if you rub it along the body. They have agreed to fix this and not the trunk/rear quarter gap so I'll see how that goes. Will be doing more research on what is acceptable quality on the rear quarter panel gap. Not sure where to take my car next time this happens. Maybe Wisconsin or Chicago if the approved Mpls shop can do a better job. read more

Because I'm an idiot and pulled into a gas station spot to quickly, I clipped and dented the lower rear right quarter of my car. It was a tricky repair because the wheel well is intersection of several curved, rounded and straight edges. They did a great job and I can't see any different between the repaired right side and the original detail on the driver side. They did order the wrong rocker board (or panel) which delayed the repair by a few days so that was really the only issue. read more

First al all you pay top dollar, this place is pricey. That would be ok if you received good service and highly quality work. Unfortunately, LaMettry did not deliver on either one. They took more than 2 weeks longer than promised, I had to bring it back twice and they still did not get it right. Even the manager apologized for the quality after brining it back the third time. The first time it was returned to me, I was told that the battery died, and without exaggeration, almost every warning light was lit on the dash. Watch out for this place. read more

My sons 2019 F150 was in Rush City hail storm this past July 2019. As a leased vehicle with the first payment not yet made,we called the dealer to seek advisement on a repair shop. LaMettry's in Inver Grove was suggested. After speaking to insurance day after the storm we had appraisal completed from insurance company. Called set up appointment at LaMettry's Inver Grove shop for August. Days before drop off, we received a call from Lamettry's stating they failed to notify their PDR department and therefor we had to reschedule. Next opening was in September. After dropping truck off now in September, week later we received another call, stating due to extent of damage and being aluminum, truck now needs to be moved to Lakeville location. Next opening was now October 29th. Seems they would known 2019 F150 was aluminum?? Dropped the truck off October 29th. Today is January 3/2020. To date follow up phone calls have been few and far between at best. repairs have hit over $12500.00. Lamettry's has filed now 4 separate claims for this incident. Taking a video of the truck after the incident, leaves only clear speculation to the extent of repairs when the video seems to show less. Insurance rental coverage expired mid November. Lamettry's refused to provide additional time. After repeated calls to which most have been saved all seem to be ongoing really no clarity as to when and why so long. Yesterday we were told truck would be ready. After contacting the insurance company, they stated they would go to Lakeville shop to complete needed documentation, and sign off on repairs to allow return of the truck. Upon arrival turns out the individual to follow up with was not in. After hearing this, we demanded a rental car to be provided. Finally after month and half we now have a rental. Would rather have the truck back. So as to anyone who would like to see the video of the truck after the storm then would like to discuss being in their shops now for nearly 75 days at a cost now over $12500, I would love to show and hear their experiences with this company. My X5 was rear-ended twice in a month. The first time the other driver left and I had to cover the expenses myself. The other time the driver gave me his insurance information. Both times Jeff Graen was the reason I brought the car in for repairs. He is very honest and tries always to give you a fair assessment of the situation. I went to another major place in Saint Paul and I just run out since they tried to replace half of the car. Jeff is a shiny example of what a good old-fashioned business should be. When there was problem with the repair, he told me not to worry and the he would make sure that the car would be like new. He is really a very trustworthy guy. Another person that I really liked and appreciated his directness is the general manager of the Eden Prairie store (Eric Johnson). When there was a problem with the first repair, he worked with Jeff to make sure that I would leave happy. He did not give me any excuses but simply said "Let me fix it to your satisfaction." I DO NOT recommend LaMettry's at all! They have had my vehicle for a month. When they have called me to say it's done and I get there, the work has not been totally completed. I have been there 4 times! There were still scratches, marks, buff marks and it's plain to see. Even the guy walking around the vehicle said he noticed it. Well, why did you call me to say it's completed and I can come get it?? Seriously, DO NOT go there! While I was there, another customer had to bring her vehicle back because it wasn't done right the first time. People beware!! read more

I cannot recommend this place enough. Our 13 year old suv decided to start leaking internally when it rained. Since it's an old car, we prioritize fixes on it of what really does need to get done. Obviously, you don't want to drive around with water streaming into your car, and you definitely don't want mold occurring in the fabric. So we needed this done, and since I am 9 months pregnant and it's currently our only car, we needed a quick fix. LeMettrys was recommended by our trusted auto shop, so I went in hesitantly. After all, most of the cars they work on are high end, and definitely not 13 years old. Although the check in system is a little screwy, the guys there are wonderful! The one that helped me ( km sorry, I forgot his name) said it was probably a clogged duct in the sunroof, so he checked it out and used compressed air to get rid of twigs and such. It took like 10 minutes tops once he met with me. He explained that this is the easiest fix, so they would try it (for free) first. Unfortunately, later that week we had pretty heavy storms and the leak actually got worse, spreading to other parts of the overhead area. I got an appointment online (great about that too, however the front desk lady had no idea I had an appt... But I'll chalk it up to their system being down.) and took the car in. After a short wait a different man came to ask what exactly was wrong with the car, and then went to check it out. He came back fairly soon after and said the blow out had pushed something into the way, causing a greater leak. So he fixed it and doused our car with water to make sure the leak was gone. Although that made the inside of our car temporarily soggy, it did the trick and they again didn't charge us anything. Obviously we would have paid something, but it's refreshing to go to a place that doesn't nickle and dime you, particularly when something they did caused a bigger issue. Because of that we will definitely keep them in mind for any future body issues. I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone. read more

Lamettrys is the best. Exceptional customer service and free on the spot estimates. They even are certified to work on Teslas. I took my brand new bmw there after being hit by someone on the way to work. 3 day repair and they kept in contact w me each day to update me on the repair process. They worked directly with the insurance company I claimed with and all was smooth. 3 months later i had issues sith thr repair. Nothing that was the fault of their work. Even though it wasnt because of that they still fixed it under warranty for free and treated me as if i were paying again. The girls at the front desk are friendly and professional and their GM goes above and beyond. read more

Be very thorough in your inspection after the repair. I had driven my car home and noticed some damage that they had missed. I returned and after being told that the damage wasn't part of the collision they finally placated me by telling me they would order the part after months of follow up, they win.
