After growing up in East Haven, Wallace relocated to the Los Angeles area for a change of pace to live with friends. Over the years there, he held jobs in security management and sales, worked for the fast-casual chain MOD Pizza and pursued a stand-up comedy career in Los Angeles. Taylor became friends with Wallace in college. He visited Wallace often before deciding to relocate to L.A. himself. When COVID hit, Wallace began experimenting with New Haven-style pies in his home kitchen. He and Taylor began to do a series of pizza pop-ups. Wallace named his pizzeria "Ozzy's" after his pet chihuahua. Before long, the business took off. A second location opened at East Rock Market in New Haven (CT) in August 2024. A new flagship location opened in North Hollywood in October 2024, the Glendale location relocated in October 2025, and a delivery kitchen opened in Beverly Hills in January 2026. My son and I recently had lunch at Ozzy's New Haven outpost at East Rock Market. I had heard a lot of great things about them since they opened. This location is run by co-owner Craig Taylor while Wallace runs things on the West Coast. After looking over the menu, my son and I decided to order and share "The Ozzarita" (fresh mozzarella made locally from Liuzzi, fresh basil, and housemade red sauce) and "The Mikey Rabbit" (housemade garlic ricotta cream sauce, freshly ground Italian sausage, baby spinach, pecorino, and mozzarella). Holy cow! These pies were excellent! Crispy crust with the perfect amount of New Haven char, excellent sauces, and very fresh tasting toppings!
