We were out house hunting visiting open houses in the area with my infant niece when I got a craving for breakfast food. Looked up the nearest diner and Lamp Post was 4 minutes away from our last open house. When I go to diners I only order breakfast food and since you can get it all day I expect it to be on point. This was our first time here and I have to say we will be making this a frequent spot for breakfast food. The servers Courtney and Monique were amazing. I guess they don't get a lot of infants in there because every single one of them stopped at our table for conversation and to see the baby. I ordered French Toast with a side of Turkey Bacon and my partner had an Omelet. Our food was cooked to perfection, hot and flavorful. The food is good but the bathroom is NOT handicapped accessible. I cannot get in and make the tight necessary turn and my wheelchair cannot fit in the handicapped stall without me being unable to shut the door AND I'm facing the corner away from the toilet and since I can't walk I can't climb over my wheelchair to get to the toilet. Also, I need my husband to push me in and there's always a lot of women in there that don't want a man in there. I think they should make a separate bathroom just for handicap people, a single toilet type of bathroom. In the meantime I've had to stop going to the restaurant because of this problem. read more

Just opened last Monday. This was a Charlie Brown's. I do not remember what it was like before. Very comfy large diner with various rooms, nice size booths and tables. Upon entrance, granite top counter for seating. Nice aroma of coffee. My husband and I frequent diners. We came for breakfast. We always order an appetizer (crab cakes and calamari) which were both outstanding. I ordered a large fruit plate which was fresh and tasty. My husband got a cheeseburger with crispy fries. He gave it a thumbs up also. The service was excellent. Our waitress Amanda was very sweet and accommodating. I'm sure we will be back again soon. read more

My first time here with my daughter here today. Parking lot was crowded but there was no wait to be seated. Hostess was nice. Restaurant was clean. Food was decent. I had the banana nut pancakes and the daughter had obsessed with chocolate pancakes. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. Service was good. The two ladies at checkout ruined it though. Never looked up at me and never said what my total was. I already knew what it was from the receipt. They just kept chatting between the two of them about gossip and how their weekend was going. If anyone from management is reading this, please retrain the woman with the blue wave tattoo on her right hand in the proper ways of acknowledging a customer. Bottome line: Mediocre food, great service from waitstaff, terrible checkout experience. Will I return?? Maybe but only to pick up one of what looked to be delicious desserts. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this diner - which is a shame because I have been a loyal customer since they opened. The food is decent and the price is right where is should be. However - I had service issues last night and when I went to speak with the owner (Andy), he basically called me a liar and told me to go "F*** myself" He told me that he everything on camera. I asked him if he could hear the conversation since his whole defense was "I have everything on camera" and he refused to answer. And when I mentioned that I would put this on Yelp, he said he didn't care. That no one believes anything posted here anyway. Again - i would have no issues recommending this place if the owner took a little bit better care of my service issues. But, I work to hard to earn my money to give it to someone who basically said they don't care about their customer. read more

Me and my girlfriend have been coming here for the past couple of months, and we love it. Food is delicious, good portions for the price, the staff is phenomenal, and the diner is always clean. Stopped by after a great lecture at Camden County College, husband wanted a toasted cinnamon bun and to waiter's credit he said they were a day old and to try something else so hubby had Cream of Crab soup that was good and Apple Pie that was average. I had Chocolate Cream Pie that was horrible. It came in a individual pie plate, it had a cardboard crust, at least that's what it tasted like, it had a white fluffy topping that was way to sweet and made of something artificial, the filling was colored beige, made of same stuff. Totally inedible. How hard is it to make this pie? Pie crust, chocolate pudding filling and whipped cream on top! Not sure what I was served was even food! Took a few bites and left the rest. Ugh! First time here, both my husband and I really enjoyed our dinners and at $9.99 each it was a good deal. He had a chopped steak with onion and fresh mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and peas/carrots. This is a great recent addition to my area. It is probably 2 miles from my house. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. I walked in this last Saturday night to eat at the counter and there was a wait for table/booth seating. This was at 7:30pm. That should tell you how popular it is because this place does not have a liquor license. This is a diner that is run by a Greek family and they know what they are doing. Went here on Mother's Day for breakfast for the past two years and got immediate seating at the counter which I actually enjoy. The service is always great. Food is good, I got french toast, home fries, and bacon which were all cooked well. The only issue I had was what I think was the manager chastising an employee in front of everyone who was sitting there. I used to work in a restaurant and I know how overwhelming it can get on a crazy, busy morning like Mother's Day, however that does not constitute embarrassing someone in front of people. Their latte machine broke and when one of the ladies went to fix it she spilled water all over the floor. They brought out a sign and put it against the wall but I do not see how anyone in a rush would notice it. A young kid (not sure if he was a bus boy or server) came behind the counter and slipped on the water but didn't fall. The older man in a blue tie spoke loudly to him asking "Did you not see the sign???" "That is why you're supposed to wear non-slip shoes!!" The poor kid was mortified and in a rush and respectfully nodded his head and went back to his work. I just really didn't like that the manager (I'm really just guessing that's who it was but I have no clue) felt so compelled to make a comment when people were sitting right there. I ordered food and was in happy with it just the side of "turkey bacon" and did not eat it and they refused to take it of my bill. They refused to taste it so our whole table which spent about 100$ on food rated it in front of them and it doesn't taste right. they said oh now you ate most of it we can't refund you a couple dollars! For a diner, the atmosphere and appearance is great. The service is quick and friendly. I have had issues in the past with my food which is why I gave it three stars, but they always resolve the problem. I ordered a veggie omelette with fries. It was my first time here tonight. My fiancé and I arrived shortly after 9pm. The place wasn't very crowded at all so we were seated immediately. We were greeted by the hostess and the manager as soon as we walked in which was very nice. I wish I could remember our servers name but she was an older woman with black hair. My fiancé ordered chicken parm and got the New England clam chowder soup. He took 1 spoonful of soup and pushed it aside. He told me to taste it, so I did. Holy cow, it was like the entire salt box was poured into that single cup. Neither of us could even bare to eat it. The server didn't ask how it was, so we didn't say anything. He didn't mind his chicken parm but he said he had better. His only complaint was that there was too much breading. I got the Signature burger and it was great. It was huge! For dessert we both got a slice of cheesecake - he got pumpkin and I got the brownie one. Both were delish. If we come back I'd like to try more of the desserts. The menu was huge. The reason for 3 stars was because of the inedible soup and also the fact that the service was terribly slow for being so dead. We were in there for almost 2 hours. read more

Breakfast is by far the easiest and simplest meal to make. The renovation and location is great just wished the food matched. Nothing says good morning like a hot cup of coffee. Unfortunately I was served lukewarm coffee that got cold the moment it hit the table. Tried one of the breakfast specials and everything was ok except my sausage. I'm a big fan of Lamp Post Diner but one thing I'm going to mention is if you go there after 11am on sat or Sun their breakfast prices go up. On a sat or Sun you will pay $8 for a short stack of blueberry pancakes. That comes to $4 a pancake. Not sure what the price is prior to 11am bit this kind of ridiculous. We eat there at least once or twice a week and when eating breakfast this really amazes me every time i see it on the bill. I'll still frequent Lamp Post but when I want breakfast I may think twice when ordering the pancakes. read more

Recently moved back to Gloucester Township and was looking for a new diner. (Phily diner is a definite no go) and stumbled upon this diner. Went in for breakfast and was extremely pleased all around. Service was super friendly from the people at the hostess stand to our server. Our server was very nice and attentive. Food came out so fast which was a bonus.
