Very beautiful building and gray interior. The staff was very friendly. We were seated at a dirty table but one of the waiter was got it cleaned up asap. The soups were flavorful and spot in. They had a nice selection of cornbread and regular bread. Both were good. The wings were ok. They are fried a bit too long leading it to being a bit dry and tough. The disco fries were ok. Nothing too special, very cheesy and some decent gravy. The crab cakes were good. Fresh, nicely cool and crispy! Overall great. The veal parmigiana was disappointing sadly. The veal itself was very tough and besides the taste it was basically a over cooked meat patty. The seafood ciopinno was overall good. Great flavors, decent amount of seafood. The shrimps really shined in the dish. The mussels were subpar. The worst was the scallops. They were closer to mush. Overall an alright place, averaging about $20-$30 per person. I'm not a breakfast person, but this place has me wanting breakfast food ever since I stopped by. They have a large menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch food with daily and weekly specials to choose from. As well as free refills on hot coffee and fresh orange juice to pair with your meal. The staff are hardworking and I honestly had a great experience when I visited. I'd recommend trying their Granola Parfait French Toast or anything off of their Crepe, Pancake, French Toast menu! This is one of the nicer diners in the area. Most of the family ordered breakfast but we did get a few lunch items as well. Breakfast was solid. Nothing to complain about. Eggs and omlette cooked properly with tons of homefries. The French onion soup was delicious and the seafood bisque had a lot of seafood in it. My fries were good and coated in a seasoning. The only thing I found odd was the wings were seasoned and then tossed in your sauce of choice. Wasnt bad just different and the wings were large. My son and I stopped in for lunch after we got done bowling. It was very busy and packed, but we had no wait and there was plenty of parking. Our waitress was nice and quick to take our order. She constantly checked on us to see if we needed any refills, which was good. Although, some of the other wait staff were very unprofessional and cursing and yelling. My son had breakfast and said it was good. He had scrambled eggs, bacon, and short stack pancakes. I had the French onion soup and the post burger with sweet potato fries. My food was just ok. The French onion soup had great flavor, but some of the onions weren't soft and were tough. I had to spit them out. The portion was big, I took half of my burger and fries home. Thank you to the chef who actually served real "Fried onions" on my husband's fried potatoes. These were nice brown fried onions not white/tan sauté onions. We arrived Saturday night and put our name in for a table. We observed that everyone had masks on and all the tables were seating socially distant. It was huge inside! Our waitress came right away and took our drink orders. The chef specialties looked delicious! We both ordered the chicken parmigiana which came with soup or salad and bread. I had the salad which was great and my friend had the chicken tuscan soup which she said was great! The chicken parmigiana was delicious!! Yesterday was my first visit, but I'm not 100% sure that I'd return. The food was decent (the home fries needed some seasoning, seemed like they cooked them separately from the onions and peppers adding them to the top after frying), but the service wasn't that great. First, waiting to be seated the hostess asked if we'd like a table or booth; we asked for a booth. She looked around as if it would be a struggle to seat us as I looked around at so many empty booths. She looked so confused about what to do then she called for someone's assistance, but decided to walk us to a booth near a larger party off to the side. The party was pleasant, it was their Grandmother's Birthday and it was truly beautiful seeing the family together, having a grand ol time. The waitress waited on them perfectly, asking questions, assuring they had what they needed and offering more than requested... When it came to us, her performance was lackluster. She didn't seem as enthused when it came to serving us, and it felt like it was tasking for her to assist us. However, I'm glad granny was able to enjoy her birthday, maybe we should ask to join them next time so we can experience the same high level of service and enthusiasm. read more

Let me first start by saying that I'm not usually a fan of diners, but this is my dad's favorite place so we go here often and our server is always Michelle B-she makes the entire experience so special-she knows our preferences, she's happy to give recommendations, and she just takes that extra second or two to make us feel valued as customers. My dad tries different meals all of the time, but I have now found that my favorite over these last few months has been the Jersey Shore Salad-it is so good and the portions are phenomenal-I always bring half home for my lunch the next day. The plate is piled high with lettuce, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, avocado, strawberries slices, mandarin oranges, and feta (I ask for that instead of bleu cheese and it's never a problem). Always clean and nicely decorated. Service was good and friendly. My meal was steak fajitas that was really good, but I should have asked for a separate dish to make them on. My husband had the English style fish and chips. He said he couldn't eat the fish as it tasted like there was a full salt shaker dumped on them. His chips were mostly burnt. Btw. The chips are not fries they are fresh made potatoe chips and the ones not burnt were good. We had a burnt meal there in 2022 but someone told us they were good again so we tried them. This is only my second visit to the Lampost Diner.My wife and I were NOT disapointed. This diner met all expections a diner can provide, namely, great service, fantastic food, and a low price. Our server was Debbie who was very friendly and attentive stopping by to see if we needed anythine, She got our order precise as we ordered it. The place is quite clean and very spacious. All the servers wore masks and gloves which is important during the pandemic. The food was plentiful and great tasting. I had the fried seafood diner which about half of it I took home because it was so much and I enjoyes it the next day. My baked potato was hot and prefectly made with sour cream on the side. After seeing these I know that they or a similar pancake specialty will be my choice for next time. My avocado and tomato omelet was very good as well. I opted for Am cheese to meld the flavors and was glad I did. I enjoyed the hash browns which were nicely grilled and crispy on the top and bottom. I was appreciative that this restaurant goes easy on the sodium. I prefer to add my own for dishes like this, and just put a dash on both. My meal came with toast, juice, and Java or tea. The food came out super quickly, and the waitress was attentive to our needs. It's the first diner I've been to in this area, but it compares very favorably to the better ones in my area. Me and my wife showed up to try this place for the first time, we got there at about 9:20pm and mind you they close at 10pm.
