I just bought a Red Dodge Challenger Scat Pack from Lampe dodge and it was a great experience. Everyone from the internet sales rep to the finance manager were very helpful. No high pressure. No markups. When we went into the office to sign the contract the finance manager mentioned the extended warranty, but there was no pressure. Did I mention I also saved $13,000 dollars? **Terrible Service Department** Do not go here for repairs. We brought in our 2024 Chrysler Pacifica for a braking issue. The first time, they kept it for five days, couldn't figure it out, charged me $100, and made no repairs. I also had to pay for five days of rental car costs. When the same issue happened again, we took it back and rented another car. Even with a scheduled appointment, it took them two days just to decide they needed a part they did not have. The communication was terrible. Calls went to voicemail, I did not get callbacks, and I had to keep chasing people down just to get updates. When I asked for the service manager, I was basically told they were busy and that diagnosis takes time. What made it worse was that they did not even run the diagnostic in a timely fashion. Then, after finally figuring out they needed a part, they just waited to hear back from THEIR OWN IN HOUSE PARTS department while my rental charges kept adding up. If you want your vehicle to sit without being worked on, even with an appointment, this is the place. If you want poor communication and a lax attitude, this is also the place. We took our Ford F150 Lightning EV on it's first cross country road trip. This was supposedly one of the charging station stops on the way up the central valley. Needless to say, The folks at the Lampe dealership said they couldn't let us use it and they didn't even have the key and that it was only for their drivers and that other people stop here and have the same problem. We were on low charge at this point and there was only one other fast charger open within distance, the EVgo inside downtown parking garage (regular charger would take up to 10 hours). So we went to the EVgo downtown but all chargers were in use, so we waited there. All in all, we waited about 5 hours in Visalia for a charge to get back on the road. It's kind of Ford's fault to put non Ford network chargers in the computer But that was my first experience cross country. Word of advice traveling with Ford EVs. Save yourself some headache and steer towards Electrify America chargers when at all possible. There is also an app called PlugShare that lists chargers of all types in the area which you can narrow down by search criteria and community ranking. Some might find that helpful. So I took my truck cause my scanner read the shift solenoid was bad so I replaced it and the problem proceeded, my truck still kept locking in 4th gear and would jump and before it shifted. I took it to this dealer ram dealer in goshen and turns out it was just some twisted peeled wires. Shout out to Bryan Coffey he is honest and told me exactly what was wrong and what could be done and got the job done quick and charged $200! Definitely earned himself a client for being honest and letting me know what can be done, dealership labor is not cheap and neither are the parts but they repaired the wire because it's discontinued and can't be purchased new but regardless they got the job done correctly and unexpectedly cheap. read more

I took my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee the beginning of August 2025 first very hard to talk to someone, never received calls back when leaving my messages. Second, they told me they added nitrogen and sealed some leaks and after charging me $1,600 I took it off the lot and started to hear a leak. I took it back and they said they checked everything and found it needed a new compressor and they made sure no more leaks. I paid $1,500 for that, as soon as I took it off the lot again I started to hear a slow leak again! I immediately called back and they had me take it back AGAIN! Now they are telling me it needs new front struts! They are back ordered and because of that I have to wait approx 4 months and I cannot take my car out of their lot. I have left several messages to the manager and he has not returned my calls and I have also tried calling the General Manager Ked Sleener also have not heard from him! This place is a joke! My vehicle has been in the service department since November 9, 2023 and well first the parts needed to arrive then the parts arrived and mechanic working on my wrangler left early then he was off due to illness and today is December 4th 2023. However dealership wont give me a curtesy call to update me on status so i have to call to find out whats going on i get no answer i constantly leave messages i never get a call back i been having to physically go to dealership twice to only find out my vehicle is not ready. And today i called three(3) times and still have not response or even gotten a curtesy call to update. I have never had a car stay at a shop for so long. I really dont even know what to call this. I had no idea this dealership service department has one of the worst reviews i have ever seen. Well the final outcome of my review is i finally got. My vehicle fixed and refurned to me on Friday December 15, 2023 it took alot more than what i expected. Although it was low on antifreeze and it had a small leak which i fixed my self. However due to the inconvenience that was caused all that the service rep could do to help out was give me a discount on the oil change and offered to give me a free wash since it was sitting inthe shop for that long it was somewhat dusty. On a side note the delay was due to the dealership service department being sort on employees. And because of this i was forced to rent a vehicle while my vehicle was sitting waiting on a mechanic. Pretty poor customer service at the service station. I brought my 2015 wrangler in for an engine noise and overheat issue and after about a week of not receiving any word, I called them and was told it was just a thermostat issue and they went ahead and changed it. When it came to the engine noise I was told they couldn't find the problem. The issue with the thermostat confused me since there was smoke coming out of the engine when it overheated but I trusted their opinions. Sure enough, it overheated about a month later driving in the mountains. When I returned with that overheat issue (which clearly wasn't the thermostat) I was told it was because I put a load on the engine. When we have are Jeep serviced wee always have to call to find out what is wrong and when we do..outrageous amount of work has to be done, I understand the whys but I do not understand the customer service-not good. We had to call to be told that they are ordering the parts-Jeep has been in since the 19th of September and it is now the 26th with no updates. Well, I have a big problem with my 2022 Ram 3500 dually that I bought new in July 2022 from Lampe Dodge in Visalia for 86K. Not cheap for sure. Everything was good with it until mid June 2024, when Lampe contacted me to get the Y43 recall done to it. In early July, I went to smog it because it was due registration and found that engine monitors were not cleared. I learned that the PCM had to be re-flashed for the recall and this is what made the engine monitors needing to be cleared again. Lampe did not share that part with me and so I wasted $60 on a smog that failed. I did some research and read where others who encountered similar issue, asked if Y43 recall was done. It does state in the recall' " Do not interrupt the software update process in any way once it has begun. It may cause permanent damage to the PCM which will require replacement." That was not all I found. I also learned that Ram was heavily fined (1.6B) for emissions tampering in order to pass smog. Contacted Lampe the next day who said to drive the truck to get the monitors to clear. I drove it everyday (not my commuter car) and cleared all but one monitor right away except for the EGR monitor. I drove for 3 weeks and put 2505 miles on it but still did not clear the EGR monitor. BY the way, this is one of the easier monitors to clear. I finally took it in to Lampe who has now had my truck for 5 weeks and still not able to clear the EGR monitor. At the 3 week mark, I asked for the service manager, who in our discussion, told me it was beyond my comprehension. That did not go over well since I work on something a bit more complicated. I also brought up the statement about the PCM in the recall procedure. He said he can't just replace the PCM. I finally reported the issue to Dodge Corporate 3 weeks ago. What I have learned from corporate is they just talk a big game but do little to nothing to help. A rep called me last Friday saying he could not reach Lampe service department. I told him I have no problem and get through to them and gave him the number and names. To date, there have been 3684 miles put on my truck trying to clear the EGR monitor. I called the corporate rep today who told me again that he has not been able to reach Lampe Dodge. I will update this fiasco as it goes forward. UPDATE SEPT 2: I got my truck from Lampe Dodge to use over the weekend to use pulling the trailer to the races in Ventura on Saturday and Santa Maria on Sunday. I thought that would be a time to help clear emission monitors that the dealership and Dodge are working to get fixed. After 5 weeks at the dealership and around 5000 miles, the EGR monitor is still not cleared. We raced Saturday and stayed in Ojai and headed to Santa Maria Sunday morning. We got to Santa Barbra and traffic was at a creep speed. After about 20 minutes of that, I smelled diesel fumes which I thought was from a truck in front of us. A few seconds later shouts that the truck is smoking. I saw all the smoke coming from the right side wheel well area and pulled over on that cramped highway. I popped the hood but didn't see anything. Started down the road again and happened again so I pulled off the highway at an exit and the same thing, I saw nothing. I looked at the coolant temp which was 204. At that temp the smoke appeared again but when it went down to the 190's, it stopped smoking. My daughter was researching while I drove on and she found an article speaking to the same issue. Apparently it was the EGR system cycling causing the smoke. This morning, I inspected under the hood and found a ground wire loose. The nut was almost all the way backed off. That in itself could cause issues with a bad ground from vibration. I then went under the truck and found the down tube area and inside the wheel well covered in soot. I inspected further and found the clamp holding the down tube and cat cockeyed leaving a gap allowing the exhaust leak. When I first took the truck in, I was told they have their best mechanic on it. If this is the best mechanic, I would fire him. I am taking my truck back tomorrow and already printed the pics out for them when I talk to them about the great job they are not doing. Update: 6 Sept. I called Lampe Dodge about my truck and what is being done. They could not tell me if the items they left undone had been fixed and that they still need to drive my truck to clear the monitors. I fully regret buying my Ram 3500 at this point. read more

My Jeep was diagnosed needing repairs of over 2200 by a local tire company. This seemed a little stepp so I called the service department to get a 2nd opinion I spoke to Joann who asked if I could bring it in at 9am on Friday. I got there promptly at 9 and was referred to a service advisor. I explained the story to him but he said the since I didn't have an appointment they couldn't see me vehicle. I reiterated that I was called on Wednesday to bring it in, and hie stated he didn't believe me. he asked me to wait so while I was waiting I talked to Joann who arranged for me to leave the car and got me a ride home. At 11;30 my service advisor called and said they had finished the inspection and told me the shuttle drivers were at lunch and I wouldn't be picked up until around 1 which was fine. To make a long story short, the ride never showed up. I have to pick my daughter up from school and the time was nearing. So I called and asked about my ride. I was told the service advisor had left for the day and they had no information for my ride So I made arrangements to get my car and ironically while driving it home I got a call asking if I needed a ride So, it was the best of times (Joann and her assistance) and the worst of times (My service advisor) read more

I was given an appointment for 8:30am for an oil change and inspection. They called me the day prior to confirm for 7:30am. Whatever, I took it in at 7:30 instead. Keep in mind I set this appointment a week and a half ago. They said it could take all day, but they would make sure it was the first one looked at in the morning. Just found out, they didn't even start the oil change until "just before lunch". It's now 1:30pm (6 hours later). The inspection is supposed to take 30 min to 2 hours and I need my truck back. If they had actually started when they said, they would have had it done well before lunch and I'd be driving home right now. Instead I'm sitting in a gas station waiting for them to maybe call me before I have to leave and not have a truck until tomorrow. Do better! Other note: -the receptionists have no idea what hours maintenance works so they will send you to a line that just rings into eternity if you call during lunch hour(s??) I live in Bakersfield and saw that their prices online were way better than here in town. They had the car I wanted at a very good price. On top of that, they weren't pushy. Alex helped us and went to great lengths to make sure we were comfortable, even buying my mom and I some food while we waited for my trade in to be brought to the dealership. I also forgot my garage door opener in my old car, fortunately they called me a few days later to make sure everything went well. My goal is to do business with local companies whenever possible. I've given up using Lampe for service needs on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Too many instances of air cleaner housing clips left unfastened (2x), regular oil fill instead of the requested (and charged for) full synthetic, misquoted oil change price, and the most recent air filter housing clip AND engine cover left unfastened and laying on top of the engine. I caught those two things only because they've trained me to double-check their work! This is simple stuff and shouldn't happen. Good luck if your vehicle needs something complicated! So I'm done. Next stop: Manning in Dinuba if I stick with a Jeep dealer (they have 1 star more than Lampe, lol) or Frank's Automotive in Tulare which will be my first choice. read more

I have had nonstop issues with my vehicle that I bought brand new from here. Every time I try to take it in I end up having to call my warranty company to have them verify the warranty with Lampe. Lampe also judges distance by as the crow flies and not by driving distance, which makes absolutely no sense. So, even though I live 57 miles away from this dealership via roads, I can't take it to my local dealer to be serviced because "as the crow flies" it shows that I'm only 27 miles away... Also, The last time I took my vehicle in, the issue was not fixed. I called and left 2 messages with the service department and never got a return call so the issue was never fixed and no other place will touch it because of the distance issue stated previously. There are multiple other unsavory experiences with this dealer since I bought the car in 2015. I'm very frustrated and disappointed to say the least. I have also talked to multiple friends/acquaintances who have had similar experiences. One even had a 3 way call with Lampe and the Better Business Bureau where they were treated very unprofessionally by Lampe. I wish I could have my Friday night back...Car buying is literally worse than getting a root canal. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY? They start you out with a nice salesperson who tells you all the right things and then when it's time to "talk numbers" they send up the guys who literally sit up on an elevated platform and look down ready to pounce. "Closer guy" comes down covered in gaudy gold rings and watch to ruin your freaking day, (I seriously wish I was making this up but he was 100% a man with multiple gold rings and a ginormous gold watch.) I think that they need to have a picture up in the break room that says "this is HOW NOT TO DRESS if you are selling cars today" and put giant red x's over said creeptastic rings and jewelry. Closerman then proceeds to sit there with that awful "grid" form that they all use while talking numbers and proceeds to make absolutely no sense while the "friendly" salesperson stands next to him saying NOTHING as he sits there and ruins all their hard work. I think I would appreciate it more if they were just like "look, the advertised price you saw is total BS, we use those to get you through the door, but this is what we can actually do for you. They might as well advertise using a $111 lease sales sticker that includes a picture of the tooth fairy and Santa Claus as to say "come on guys we all know what this is right?" Not to mention the Florida based Southern rock music blaring from the speakers which makes me question what I've done with my life that my auto tastes might actually somehow line up with this type of music. I don't think I've ever been to a car dealership that didn't even ask you if you would like a cup of water first before they start kicking your ass. I Took my ram 1500 to get looked at and then fixed because it was having a misfire on cylinder 4. I payed the $$ to get a diagnostic test done. The Mechanic or whoever was in charge assumed he knew what my issue was based of the information I told him. I then told them I want the test done first because I don't want to end up paying for a simple ignition coil trade out because I've already tired the spark plugs and ignition coil. There was gasoline flooding the spark plug area. I told them I didn't know what to do beyond this because it was something internal that was happening and just the basic fix it mechanics were not working for me. That's why I took it there. The guy later calls me and tells me that they fixed it and it was just the ignition coil after all. He asked if I wanted him to proceed with service $$$$$. I said yes because I thought maybe I was doing something wrong or it was something I missed. That alone cost me $1500 for the ignition coil switch and that spark plug replacement plus the diagnostics. I wasn't to upset because I'm not a mechanic and this the official dodge dealership. It has to be the best and they must know what they're doing right? No I was wrong. I call the next day because oddly they hadn't called me for pick up yet and the service manager tells me that they have a bigger problem and now my engine is misfiring on a few different cylinders and that there're going to do a "free" diagnostics test again to see what's going on. They end up opening the engine up and then see that one of my shafts are bent to hell. They then call me back and suggest I buy a whole new engine and my new total would be $$$$$17,000.00 + if I wanted to continue. I told them no that worth more then my truck alone and I wasn't interested. They then asked me when would I be picking up the truck and I told them I'd be there soon but i expect a refund because what I paid for and asked for wasn't done. I told them The truck was not properly diagnosed and that they had literally done what i had already done and told them it was not working still and that's why I wanted the diagnostics done in the first place! They ended up giving me 10% and a good luck making home good bye because according to them my truck was now dangerous to drive and a fire risk. My truck was still running decent before hand. Truck was not operable or safe after there "work" was completed. Never will be going back to them again. I will be in contact with corporate about the issue, and will update after that. read more

I was a little leery of this dealership based upon prior Yelp reviews, however the listed discount on their website made it at least worth while for me to drive up from Bakersfield to investigate. I was fully prepared to just walk away, however after going back and forth with Eddie via email, getting most of my questions answered we decided to drive up. Eddie came out and introduced himself along with my salesperson Juan Torres. Took a test drive and then asked them to evaluate my trade in. Afterwards they gave me a very fair offer, actually $1K over what I was expecting to get, for my trade. With the offer made on my trade in, the discount that was already almost $5K under the MSRP, my negotiating sails were deflated. I actually found it hard to find myself negotiating any more off since their already discounted price was so much lower than my local dealers and the extra money I was offered for my trade it I just agreed to sign the papers. They started prepping the paperwork. I came prepared with my own financing, which they came close to on terms, so I asked them to make sure they only run my credit once. Richard the finance guy was nice and didn't push any of their extras (huge dealer profits) that I was not interested in. Shortly after the truck was ready to go. Said our good byes and was on our way home. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat if you are interested in purchasing a new vehicle. On a side note... I did confirm the guy that wears a lot of gold watches and rings described in prior reviews does actually exist. I was sad to hear he was not working on that day as I really wanted to see this... Got TOTALLY screwed. I negotiated a price for the vehicle I wanted, confirmed an appointment for pickup, and was promised the car would be reserved as I acquired a cashier's check that day. A half hour after I purchased the cashier's check, I got a call from Lampe salesman Mike informing me that the vehicle I was promised had already been sold. The excuse given to me for the mix-up was that vehicles can only be promised to customers who are "already driving over to pick up the car." Notwithstanding the fact that this rule was never explained or mentioned during our negotiations, no dealership should ever lie about guaranteeing a vehicle to you and then sell it to a different buyer, especially AFTER you've already lined up your payment. Unfortunately, I've seen other Yelp reviews about very similar experiences with this same dealership at Lampe, with the very same salesman Mike. Left incredibly frustrated and disappointed, do not want to give this dealership any further business after this horrible experience. read more
