My friends ordered gluten free bread and pasta, but they def still had something with gluten in it and it was probably the sauce :( Had the crespelle and it was very good (basically a crepe drenched in sauce). The sauce is creamy but very tangy, almost sour. Would have liked it to be even cheesier inside, but solid dish overall, very soft, good amount of spinach and mushrooms inside, can cut with fork. I wouldn't get it again just because it wasn't a good match for my taste preference (not huge on tangy), but it was good! The saltimbocca alla romana was really good, I would get that one again. Very creamy sauce, the chicken was nice and tender, flavorful and juicy. The polenta was soft but still had a thick almost bready texture, like if you soaked cornbread (but tastes like plain polenta, not like sweet cornbread). If you've never had polenta before, it's sort of a thick grainy oatmeal-like texture. The semifreddo was like if you took tiramisu, added more espresso, and condensed it down into a singular flat slice of cake / bread pudding (soft mushy texture). Delicious sauce, very strong on the whiskey/caramel flavor. Would definitely get that one again. Service was great, and the garlic bread was surprisingly soft and delicious.

A bit kitschy in the decor but pleasant, spacious and very nice. The service was extraordinarily friendly, attentive and helpful. We felt like family were waiting on us. As we got menus right away there's a good variety of choices. Since the essence of the restaurant is Maltese I was particularly intrigued as I know nothing of that cuisine. We started with a cup of the soup of the day, a Tuscan bean soup, that was delightful. It was full of beans and fresh vegetables in a hearty soup base. Although a few choices in the salads and sandwiches sounded appealing I instead chose the Lamb Maltese pasta. On a bed of farfalle (bowtie) pasta it comes with lamb pieces and a slightly spicy red sauce. All very delicious and I found it to be a very tasty dish. The only downside was the lamb chunks were not the usual, long and oddly sized, plus very chewy. Overall it didn't really diminish the dish. While we all were quite content and full our server brought out an incredible array of amazing looking desserts that would wow anyone. Unfortunately there just wasn't an appetite left for it. However, I will remember that for next time. I will definitely go back to try other things. This is a wonderful place for a pleasant meal.

Both sides were excellent--the crust had just the right balance of crisp and chew, and the toppings were fresh and thoughtfully put together. The real surprise, though, was the Caprese salad with peaches. It was so unbelievably good that we completely forgot to take a picture before it disappeared. Honestly, it's one of the best salads I've ever had. The peaches added just the right amount of sweetness, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced. By the time we finished, I was completely stuffed, but my boyfriend still found room for the homemade Oreo and mint ice cream. I was too full to try it, but judging by how quickly it vanished, I'm guessing it was just as good as everything else we ordered. The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere that feels welcoming without trying too hard, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. Bicycle Thief is absolutely worth the drive to Grass Valley, and we'll be making it a point to come back.

One of our two pizzas was well-past overdone, but they were gracious in replacing it. May have been an off-day, but the service was slow and it seemed like we were ignored, waiting 20 minutes (after we were seated) before being acknowledged. Probably won't be back for the pizza, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it an awful experience. The place was cozy and clean, and the seat was comfortable. They have a gluten-free crust option for those who shun gluten.

They have great food- I always find something delicious. The people who work there are very friendly and it seems like they love their job. The prices are very reasonable and they have an outdoor patio for summer or winter. Dogs are allowed on the patio and they make sure the dogs have a water bowl. There are very few dog-friendly restaurants in the area and I love them for that. The owner is incredible. She is sincere, welcoming, conscientious and funny! She welcomes feedback from the customers. I have been there many times and have never been disappointed. They are are so professional and accommodating, plus attentive. They are the best. Even though it was early brunch I decided to try a Bloody Mary. It was disappointing. Tasting watered down it had absolutely no liquor punch at all, just a watery drink without much tomato juice. I'm always amazed to look over the 100+ omelet items on the menu but decided on a Cajun Benedict instead. It comes with long sliced sausage (Andouille?) between the eggs and muffin. Overall, it wasn't that spicy so I covered it with hot sauce, Cajun country Tabasco. The poached eggs and sauce were good, but that's where it ended. The muffins were way too small for the dish and got lost in the other stuff. I didn't find the sausage to be all that flavorful either, and definitely not spicy. I got it with hash browns which weren't anything special. Very ordinary. I may have hit an off day but I left feeling very underwhelmed. Fortunately the service and ambiance overshadowed the food by a mile. Perhaps next time I need to try an omelet!

The heat lamps were on in the enclosed area out front and they have cushions for the wrought iron chains and a shelf of blankets for customers to use. Complimentary Chilean bread rolls brought to the table right away with garlic herb butter, salsa verde sauce (chimicuri like) so good, made the old fashioned way with pork fat. Calamari Frito, Cajun seasoning, light and crunchy with a house made tarter sauce (excellent server brought us an additional tarter) Crab stuffed chili Relleno was a creative version of this meal I've eaten dozens of times, feta and a sweet sauce with the rock crab was delicious. Panqueque especial ,chorizo had a little kick but was cooled off by the pineapple and sweetness of the crepe. I'll reserve judgment on the vegetarian entre options until we have tried more. First try was a bit bland even with ordering extra hot peppers. It is unfortunate that it feels like an afterthought.

We arrived a little early for our reservation and were taken to the bar to wait until our table was ready. Word to the wise, make a reservation as the place gets packed! My only small nit is that I wish the bread was warm. *Stonefruit salad - this was delicious and very fresh *Scallops - absolutely delicious and perfectly seared and cooked! One thing I'll note is that the scallops are very very pricey at over $60 for 5-6 of them. I know it's super fresh and delicious, but this felt like it was overpriced. *Blintzes - we decided to finish with the blitzes for dessert, and these were delicious.
