The customer service I received when there for the first time in years recently was fantastic, that's what will keep me coming back. Yeah. This is place is pretty great. Pizza is wonderful, and it's wonderful to get a pizza that is nice. I like toppings on my pizza so this place is perfect for me. You can get toppings to go directly on top of your pizza, or if you want you can pick a topping to put underneath other toppings you would get. The toppings underneath are usually a kind of sauce. They have a few different kinds. Try to taste them all. You will like them. The toppings are numerous in amount. Ranging from bacon to canadian bacon, and everything in between. Even avocado. This place is hit or miss. My ratio is about every third time I have it it is 'good', but never excellent . . . so after tonight's two 1 star pizzas. I am done with this place for good. Top that off with waits that are always longer than the quoted times. I was told 35 minutes and it ended up being an hour and 10 minutes and honestly they were busy, but not that busy. New to the area. One of my husband's coworkers recommended Lamppost. We went there as last minute dinner idea. The pizza parlor is old and outdated, in need of an update. I can appreciate the vintage sports displays they have but the rest of the place needs some serious cleaning and updating. We ordered a large pizza. We ordered two beers while we waited. We overheard the manager yelling at an employee in the kitchen which I found very unprofessional (that's why they lost a star). Fortunately as we finished up our beers the pizza was ready. I noticed the "we deliver" on their take out menu and inquired if they deliver to Lime Kiln area. The manager was quick to tell me no, it's too far down the hill. A little disappointing. The pizza was very vibrant and fresh. Once we began eating all of us agreed it was our new favorite. I have been coming here since the late 1990s, whenever I am in the area. The sauce here is what does it for me. I like NYC pizza pie styles better than Lamppost and most California pizza places, but this Lamppost is much better than Round Table and the big chains. If you need to take a break mid-meal to smoke another, the parking lot is usually pretty chill and nobody around like "in town" in GV, or NC where there are usually always some lame street kids coming around. read more

I got the Gourmet Chicken Pizza on the pizza was chicken, white sauce ,garlic, bacon , red onions and artichoke hearts. It's one of the best pizzas I've ever had and I've eaten pizza all over New York and Chicago. The chicken on it was super tender and high quality best chicken on a pizza I've had hands down. Was going to come in for a pizza for dinner after my dogs vet appointment that was next door until an employee came out to yell at me for my dog peeing in the grass by their restaurant. The pizza is ok not bad but not great. I was going to get it because it wasn't as pricey as some of the other pizza places, although the more expensive is usually better pizza. Anyway, it wasn't the pizza that is giving a one star, it was the customer service. I called in two pizzas, one cheese and one vegetarian, I went to ask the guy what all came on that particular vegetarian because they have more than one and he hung up on me. I called back and someone else answered I asked him the question he told me, I let him know i had just made an order so to make sure that the one I am getting is not a duplicate, well as normal with most customer service these days, nobody really listens, so of course it got doubled. I ended up deciding to go to another place within minutes of calling and called back to speak to a manager. He was rude too. he said "well you made two orders" I told him what happened and it is like they have high school kids running this place. I will never go back again, even the second guy was not polite. Food is to expensive to have this kind of service. If I were the owner, I would fire the whole crew and start over even if I had to pay more wages it would be worth it. One of the better places I've EVER been too- Normally go to places in Winnemucca, or Empire-Gerlach, Nv because they have it down to a true science - you can even get a named after my Ranch Pizza "The Rockin' Lazy 2J" (Ranch) because a bunch of us invented the ultimate Pizza. But when I'm in the area I eat here (even if they don't have a REAL BRICK OVEN!). Over the years I've become a master at how to layer pizza so the layers 'marry' each other - and these guys not only put them on in the right order, they also know enough to know that with all the toppings I put on, it CAN'T be cooked with only one pass through the oven. The second pass is now (after two or three tries over as many visits) perfect - I get cooked tomatoes AND 'warm' FRESH tomatoes since they put them on just prior to the second pass which only warms them. These guys are MASTERS at pizza makeing. The ONLY trouble I've had is the OWNER, and he has HIS way. But when it's just the staff and I, it's PERFECT and they get their hefty tip for their knowledge! The smoky flavor (even without a fire driven brick oven), the veggies not cooked to soggy, the crust not soggy - the workers are near Zen Masters at their art. The owner isn't UNKNOWING, he's just not as 'understanding' as his staff -- and I've NEVER had trouble with the staff or the owner. It's that the owner won't let you 'mix' the base-layer 'paste' - so it's EITHER red OR green but not half and half, or (god forbid) MIXED tomato and basil! Or tomato, garlic AND basil! The concept is simply beyond is ability to understand the way flavors mix and compliment each other. Like some people have a hard time reading, the owner has a hard time understanding how tomatoes, basil and garlic CAN go together if mixed properly. But even that doesn't keep it from a five-star rating! AND after a cold freezing drive in February from Paradise Valley, Nevada (call it 5-6 hours of STORMING snowy, icy roadways) these guys even DELIVER to my friends house!!!! BTW ---- the workers make barely minimum wage - give them a break and tip them well, they don't even have health insurance - so help them out - they bust butt for you - show a little thanks for them too! -- LAMP POST ROCKS! read more

Let this be clear: Their pizza is good. I am from the East Coast and its thicker than I'd like, but it is fresh and tasty. So far, my favorite pizza in the area. However, their customer service is not great. Went for pickup and waited forever before anyone even acknowledged my existence, and in the end the wait was their mistake. Tonight, I called to order delivery and the person on the phone made me feel like I was privileged to even talk to him. He put me on hold at least five times while placing my order. Not a very friendly place and certainly not one that cares about gaining or keeping good customers. The below average rating is because even though I like their product, I don't ever want to have to order from them again. They'd have four stars from me if they would even pretend to appreciate my patronage. Update: Very seldom do I post reviews and I didn't look at previous reviews before posting this. I am a contractor that wanted to get a delivery to a spec house. The manager said because I didn't have a land line they would not deliver to the house. He also so that I could not set up a delivery unless I was the permanent resident of the house. He yelled at me and hung up the phone. Won't go back. Toppings were flavorful but the crust is gummy and there was a lot of crust. Staff is indifferent. It's drab, dark, dingy, not a happy place you want to go back to again and again. I enjoy the pizza but the cost and delivery is very disappointing. We always ask how long because it can take a while. Tonight was "a bit over an hour". Ok we weren't starving and were cool with the wait. An hour and 45 minutes later still no delivery. At the 2 hour mark is when we got the pizza. When I called this evening to order for the first time, the phone was answered by a guy that was more than likely very busy, and didn't even try to hide his irritation. I attempted to place an order from the menu that I had seen online, and he told me that they don't follow the corporate menu. By this point in the conversation, I can hear him exhaling loudly, and imagined him rolling his eyes along with it. I said, "you know what?
