Not recomendable, I ate the garlic chicken pasta and it was pretty bad. The chicken tasted like microwave chicken and the bell peppers in the pasta were in large uncooked chunks, also my wife ordered the Caesar salad and same bland chicken I could have got at AM PM. Wings are more than $1 a piece and the kids chicken tender plate only came with 2 pieces along with some undercooked steak fries. Good pizza, large space, plenty of tv's, and they brew their own beer. Sounds like a good combination to me. Come to hang and watch a game. They have seating outside to enjoy the view of the parking lot or have a smoke. This is one of the two Lampposts that we go to after softball, as do many teams that play in Irvine. We have been going to the location on Barranca for a while, but this season got placed at a field down the street from this shop. They have a special for one extra large pizza with one topping for $16.99. That's a fair price, but I recall that last year when we ended up here after games the same deal was much cheaper. Their pizza is pretty good and it's not too thick. Skip their sandwiches, but their salads are good and their wings are tasty too. Pitchers of their brews run you $14, but it's a big pitcher. This has been a consistently good place to hang out after a game (or maybe before a game) for our team for many many years. Just remember that they close at 11 and they'll stay open if you're sitting, but they stop serving food and beer at 11. read more

I like the fact that they have a microbrew on one side and a pizza place on the other. The best value is lunchtime (7 days a week)....you get a slice of pizza (pepperoni or cheese) with your choice of a pint of their microbrew (I got the house IPA which was pretty good). Both of these two together was $4.51....what a steal. The pizza was serviceable and the IPA was better than average. For the price, FANTASTIC! I'm usually a Pizza Port fan (there's one by me in San Clemente), but a slice (which is comparable to the one here) and usually a better pint (at least IPA's) will run $7. Would not eat here again. I saw that it has 3 stars and wanted to give it a shot. I was so disappointed. Even though it's a more commercial pizza joint, I knew not to be wowed by uniqueness or anything extravagant. The pizza here is pretty good, but the real reason to come is for the beer. Freshly brewed on site with a handful of standbys, along with a number of seasonal brews. Growlers are a great deal at just $14. I had the Rye Brown recently and it was a winner. The service here is very helpful and friendly. We came here at around 11:00 because there was nowhere else to eat in the area around that time. It was late so the place wasn't filled with baseball players like others have complained about. There was probably at most 4 groups at the time. I had the Taco Pizza and it was pretty damn good. I've never had anything like it and it was quite delicious. The pizza was loaded with toppings. I agree the price is a bit expensive for pizza but they did make it up for not skimming on the toppings. We ordered the small and it was big enough for 2-3 people. I'm going to start with the bad qualities first to get things out of the way. The pizza isn't anything special and damn near everything on the menu is overpriced. Parking can be a problem at times, it's an older shopping center near a bank, grocery store and other crap in the area. The layout in the restaurant is fine, they could go for some better games but I'm sure all the kids who show up and don't wash their hands will jam up the buttons anyways. I never go here during lunch because there's too many high school kids running around. It can get crowded inside, it seems like a spot people go to hang out with friends. Since it's usually busy and the workers are busy with multiple customers, I'll have to get up and find the condiments myself. They usually rush anything delivery or take-out, I rarely get enough sauce if I order spaghetti, if you don't eat the garlic bread right away it gets soggy and tastes terrible. These are all basically a ton of first world problems, this place is in Irvine, people in this city drive cars that are worth more than most houses in the US. Otherwise, I like this place. It's usually clean, the workers are far from lazy and they never screw up my order. The best thing to do is dine in, they've been much more generous with my orders and work for that tip. Nobody seems to be in a bad mood, and there's plenty of television screens that you can request to have the channel changed. The awesome part about this place is the wings and beer. They have their own brewery, and the more beers you order the better the wings get. It's a casual place, I've never had any problems or complaints about the workers and I can enjoy watching a few games as well. The atmosphere is pleasant, which is a rare thing to find in this city. I recommend this place if you want to have a few drinks with your friends, and the wings are obviously my favorite item on the menu. The pizza is fine and at least as good as RoundTables. The staff are hard working and kind and and there is a great lunch deal between 12 and 4. The beer is tasty whether it is from the microbrewery or Sierra Dark Ale or Heineken. The price is reasonable if you make good choices, e.g. eat a salad at dinner, or take advantage of the lunch special, or decline a beer when it is a good idea to do so. Seems like they have been serving Irvine for a long time and care about the community, youth sports, etc. Great place to watch a game, bring the family or bring your youth sports team after a match/game. Three stars because of their excellent beer selection. They carry a variety of specialty beers, I got the cream ale and it was crisp and refreshing. It was fair priced, $4 for a pint. The pizza is definitely over-priced, its good but unless I have a coupon or discount, no thanks. But then again, I'm not a huge fan of pizza so I could be wrong. I got the All-Star Chicken pizza--tomatoe slices, chicken, and avocado. Good quality pizza, but like I said...the price makes it not worth it. The wings are questionable. I've tried them at a different location in Fountain Valley and they were decent, but last night's wings were disgusting. It was slimy and bland. It tastes like the frozen packets that you get from the supermarket. Don't waste your money. Albertson's wings taste better than this. If you don't like kids, do not go here. There was a pack of them running around my table, spilling soda everywhere, shouting at the top of their lungs, wrestling eachother in the aisles. I know it's a family-styled restaurant, but learn how to control your children, its a public vicinity, not your living room. Tables were dirty. The servers just clean the plates and cups but do not wipe down the table or seats. The last person's crumbs were still chillin on the booth. Service...they were nice and polite. Big screen tvs left and right so it's a great place to catch a game with your friends. Its also under construction so you might miss it but it's next to Seattle's Best. I don't usually write reviews but I'm making an exception because this was probably my worst restaurant experience. I've been here and sat at the brewery a few times and have had excellent 5/5 service and delicious 5/5 pizza however tonight not only was my pizza cold because of the three 16 year old girls wasting all of our time chit chatting about the customers in the back but they left our pizza just sitting there for 40 minutes until they finally realized that it was our pizza. This used to be one of my favorite places for pizza. Haven't been here in a couple of years so decided to come in. The lady who took our order was friendly. We then looked for a table and there wasn't a clean one available, crumbs or food was on top a majority of the tables. We asked one of the employees if she could wipe off a table for us, she said okay but never returned to wipe off the table, so my husband ended up wiping off the table himself and we sat. Our entire time there no one cleaned off any tables or the employee never came back to wipe the table we asked. Then my husband ordered a beer but wasn't told he needed to go to the bar to get the drink. The overall decor is dated but I don't remember it being so dirty. The floors had crumbs, left over food, and trash. The soda dispensers needed to be wiped down as they had soda syrup residue left on and it was pretty gross. Service was overall poor, the young workers there could care less about the cleanliness. When my husband went to order another beer, the bar tender was eating a plate of pasta. If he's on his lunch he shouldn't be eating at the bar. Lastly to top off my experience, when I went to get a box to go, there were about 3 or 4 employees standing at the entrance to the back area and no one came to help or ask if I needed anything. I waited for about 5 mins before I just left and my husband went to ask. Wow, this place really surprised me. When you first enter in, it looks really cafeteria-ish, with the bench style seating. WiFi is a plus. Also looks like they have an onsite brewery. I have had pizza from many places, but I have to say that Lampost has some of the best pizza I have ever had. The cheese and topping just ooze off each slice, The pizza melts in your mouth and explodes with flavor. I absolutely love Lampost and their pizza. The toppings are amazing as well, they are so fresh and tasty. But I think my favorite part about this place is the wings. A lot of places have wings, but they are so dinky and tiny that eating 5 is equivalent to having 1. The wings here are nothing like that, they are big, tasty, and amazing. Our soccer team comes here every week after our games. I already consider the food and beer to be overpriced, but I don't mind spending the extra bucks for a good experience with my friends. Last night was not a good experience. The empty tables were covered with dirty dishes and glasses and I did not see one employee making an attempt to clean them. I paid $30 for a large 2 topping pizza and it looked despicable (see photo). I worked for pizza parlors when I was young and took pride in my parlors cleanliness and food quality. I came here after getting a Groupon for $40 worth of pizza and beer. I got the Garlic Chicken pizza and the hefeweizen for my beer. The beer was good, not outstanding, but still good. The pizza was also good, not the best pizza ever, but still good. Had I paid $40 for it all I would have been upset, but $20 was a fair price. The service was friendly and the place was fairly clean. Really disappointing, somebody is going to get really sick if it hasn't happened already. I visited Lampost Pizza in the Heritage Plaza in Irvine located on Culver and Walnut for the first time in many years. I remember them having great service and great pizza in a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately times have changed. Let's start from the beginning. We walked in around 2pm on a Sunday. The place was maybe 30% full, which isn't that busy. We stood at the order counter for at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We were the only people standing there. There were a bunch of kids running this place, which seemed odd. A young man with long hair finally arrives to take our order, which I had to repeat a few times before he got it right. He told us our order would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We returned in 20 minutes only to be told a large party had arrived so they were now behind and my order wasn't even started yet. We placed our order before the large party arrived, so that made little sense to me. We waited outside, as nobody in the building was wearing masks. We came back in another 10 minutes only to be told, "sorry I was on the phone taking orders this whole time, I'll get your order started now". At this point we stood off to the side with a clear view of the kitchen. This is where it gets disgusting.....not one person in the kitchen was wearing a mask or gloves. Two individuals had long hair without any type of hair net or hat, so the chances of getting hair in your food is pretty good. I watched them wipe sweat from their face and foreheads. Then they were grabbing all the ingredients with bare hands that I'm sure hadn't been washed in some time. The young man with long hair who was working the order desk, handling money, working the cash register, talking on the phone, and opening doors to deliver food to the patio now grabs a container for our antipasto salad. He reaches into the lettuce with his bare, unwashed hands that had been handling everything mentioned above and throws a handful of lettuce into the container. He then proceeds to grab the meat for our salad with the same dirty unwashed hands. He turns and notices I'm watching him and says "we're working on your order right now". Keep in mind, we placed our order about 40 minutes ago. I signaled for him to come over to me where I said to him "no need, I'll be canceling my order, I just watched you grab my salad ingredients with your unwashed, bare hands, that is disgusting". I couldn't believe it when he said, "do you want me to make it again". I said no, just give me my money back, I won't be coming here again. While waiting for my return, I continued to look around the restaurant a little closer, only to notice tables were not cleaned or wiped off, the floor was not clean, and even the video games had trash on them, including empty drink bottles, plastic utensils and condiment cups, and fingerprints all over the glass. It is obvious there is little thought put into pandemic safety, very little care taken when it comes to food safety, no appropriate protective gear advised by the CDC (masks, gloves, hair nets) & even proper hygiene in the kitchen is seemingly overlooked. At the time I was writing this review, I happened to read a couple other reviews on this location only to see similar experiences had been documented. I wish I had read them before visiting this location. All of this being said, I highly recommend finding someplace else to enjoy your pizza. There are plenty of them out there. read more

The pizza is always great! I have to say though I am very pleased with their customer service. My family have gone to this location multiple time because of the fun environment. My wife and I had recently experimented and ordered through an app for pick up. We had scheduled a specific time; however a technical glitch happened. The food was not ready, we had experienced something like that at a different restaurant before however the way their team rallied to get our food ready was impressive. I've been to Lamppost Pizza a couple of times to watch the 49ers' games. (Overall grade: B) I've eaten a small pizza and a slice. Both were not great, but were pretty good. If I remember correctly, the portions were average. They have quite a few TV's, maybe 6-8.?. I don't like the bench seating at all. It makes my back tired when there is no back-rest. I think the booths have back-rests, but it is harder to see some of the TV's because they are on the wall that your table is next to. Also, they should open by at least 9:45 am for the early NFL games. Instead, they open the doors at 10am or sometimes a couple of minutes after. read more

This Lamppost is definitely a cut above. Though the pizzas are more than pizza hut, the quality of the cheese and toppings is worth it. Honestly, I will drive FROM Long Beach TO the Irvine Lamppost location. There is NOT a better place to get your beer around here nor there, and there is definitely nowhere to get your quality selection of changing kegs and have your pizza, too. The pizza is not my favorite of all time, but the beer most soitenly is! It's such a cozy little place to drink, too. You can kick back in a booth and watch some sports, or talk shit at the bar and sample every fucking beer on tap between pinball games. I have loved every bartenter there, but my favorite is Molly! She always takes care of my boyfriend and I, even when we're rowdy. The service is always super quick there, too, almost to a fault! (Think, "Hey, I was planning on finishing this beer before the pizza came out so I could have that other beer with the pizza, but it came out so fast I didn't have time!") So really, even though there is better pizza on this planet, in this county, this is the best place to have you pizza and beer. I just can't stress it enough. My husband and I frequent this establishment 4/5 times a week. Love the outside (smoking) patio. They have specials all the time. I believe Monday's are 1/2 off pasta. Tuesday's are 2 for 1 beer and Wednesday's are 1/2 off wine. Can't beat it. Also specials during the games, and Happy hour through the week until 6:30. Staff is always friendly and seem happy to be there. I understand it's a pizza place, but especially for the 'regulars' menu should be changed up once a year...add Cobb salad (pretty sure you have everything but the eggs and blue cheese crumbles) maybe burgers?
