I've been coming to Lamppost Pizza for as long as I could remember (40+ years at various locations). I was really happy when I moved to the South Bay that there was a location close by. This is an order at the counter and they bring it to your table kind of place. The service was nice. This place has self seating. It has both booths and indoor picnic tables. I have multiple sports on TV playing at the same time. Normally, I'm a big fan of their pizza. However, this last time, I found the pizza to be a little doughy and a a bit skimpy on the cheese and toppings. For $35 for a medium three topping pizza, I felt the value was not there tonight. Maybe it was an off night. Bottom line: will I be back? I will probably try them again (just out of some semblance of loyalty to a chain, which is mostly given me good pizza, memories), but if the quality is the same, I'm just gonna have to find another pizza place. read more

Lamppost pizza is a great pizza spot! We got their Caesar salad & it was yummy. Their medium pizza is big. I love their variety of toppings here-- we got olives, artichoke hearts, & pepperoni. I have a fond memory of pizza joints and video games when I was growing up and this place is the epitome of that. Everything about it screams a fun time for kids and I think all the kids are going to definitely remember this place. It's going to be legendary I'm really glad this is still available and alive even after covid. The workers are super nice. The pizza is actually really good too. The barbecue chicken pizza is awesome. The salad is okay but it's just a salad. Chicken wings actually were really good. I expected them to be kind of soggy or bland but they were a little spicy and crispy and they look like actual drumsticks instead of small chicken wings Would come back here again. Well this place falls at a zero on the scale of value - which most would commonly define as a function of cost and quality. Why waste your time with an establishment that literally brings no value to the dinner table? The national average cost of a pizza is $17-$18 right now. The cost of a great specialty local Southern California pizza is about $25. The after tax cost of a lamppost cheese pizza is north of $30. It tastes well below average when compared to numerous other restaurants within 2 miles. I am inclined to speculate that this place might even the MOST expensive cheese pizza in the PV/ Torrance area. If you are going to charge the most, shouldn't you be able to boast the highest quality ingredients, something unique about your flavor or at the very least, a pizza that is worth the price? The below average quality of the pizza is matched by the subpar customer service and lack of general cleanliness of the establishment. I will not be returning to this restaurant, nor will I recommend this venue for post season parties moving forward. I would assume that this trend will grow and continue as I'm certain others will share the same common experience. My family and I really enjoy pizza. Used to live right behind Lamppost and was a regular growing up back 1990s and 2000s. Stopped by neighborhood and decided to try the large whole 9 yards. Took it to friend's house and was very disappointed due to the minimal toppings on that pizza. I don't mind paying $40+ for a pizza but when you get a pizza with minimal toppings, that is disappointing. Expected a whole 9 yards but got maybe 3-4 yards on that pizza. Very mediocre pizza. My husband and I walk around the neighborhood by this location often and the pizza smells great so we finally caved and ordered it. The first thing we noticed is that it is overpriced. We got a create your own pizza, cheese with two toppings (pepperoni and sausage) and that was almost $25 for a small, which is still less expensive than a small of their specialty pizzas. If you look at competitors in the area, $25 is usually a medium or a large, not a small, we also got a side of ranch, $1.50 for a tiny cup, again totally overpriced. For the pizza itself, too much bread, the sauce is average, not enough cheese, but the meat was tasty. In my picture you see veggies and that is because once we got the pizza home, my husband added veggies and re-baked it to make it a little more crispy. If this place was fairly priced I would have it again but the price onto of the mediocrity makes it a no go for our household! read more

During an AYSO soccer event (which I was not part of I was just having dinner with my family) at Lampost Pizza, I placed an order consisting of two large pizzas and one large salad, totaling $80. I was given a table number to display, and while supervising the children as they played video games and chased the baby, I lost track of the delivery of our food. When I approached the front cashier to inquire about the status of our order, I was informed that it had already been delivered. Upon investigation, I discovered that our food had been placed on a table occupied by another party, who had proceeded to consume it. I explained the situation to the cashier and clarified that we were not part of the other party. However, the cashier responded dismissively, stating that it was not his problem. When I asked if the other party had placed their own order and suggested swapping two of their pizzas for the ones they had consumed, the cashier refused. He also declined to replace the salad, leaving us without a solution. The cashier's tone and attitude were unprofessional and unnecessarily rude, exacerbating an already frustrating situation. My kids fave pizza spot, and I love their salad and baked wings. Their pizza is good too from the bread/sauce/cheese ratio.

I'm starting to feel like this place is either careless or just plain prejudice. They messed up my order (gave me a large instead of a small), then told me I could either wait 12 more minutes or just take half the large THEY messed up. Make it make sense. And this isn't the first time. I once asked for the smallest pizza and was told it was a 12" small-turns out they have a mini size. Why lie or leave that out? Every visit feels like l'm being talked down to or misled. Do better. I'm tired of being treated like I don't matter. read more

Great little local pizza place in Rolling Hills. It's frequented by families post juvenile sporting practices so expect lots of little legs scampering around with the occasional yelling and screaming. They have a 2 for 1 wine night on Wednesdays, but it's a house wine that's not very good. Sandwiches are great, pizza isn't bad either. It's Labor Day ,September 1,2025 and we just ordered a pizza- Large one topping pepperoni from Lamppost Pizza on Rolling Hills Road Simple , nothing special or extra. I had surgery so I had someone else pick it up or I would have checked it before leaving the restaurant- not that I should HAVE to do that. The pizza is totally burnt all over and it is so frustrating.- THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, what gets me is whoever baked this pizza MUST have seen it was BURNT , but decided to slice it and box it and hand it to us to take home anyway! We are talking BLACK , top and bottom. Unbelievable! The best part is I took photos immediately upon discovering it when we got home and called the restaurant- no apologies, nothing. I wanted to send the photos but was told there was no way to do that by the manager Cheryl. However, I was told that I could drive all the way back to the restaurant and , return the burnt inedible pizza and pick up another - I said no - not an option. I was thinking 1/2 hour there , 10 minutes in restaurant , 1/2 hour back was not going to happen. The manager didn't say anything else so I asked if there was another option please. I was then put on hold for about 10 minutes- then Cheryl returned to the phone and tops off the ridiculous situation by telling me that I "can come back and have a fresh pizza made ON THE HOUSE " Really ??? I had to remind her that the pizza wasn't free and I had paid for it so making me another one topping pepperoni to replace the inedible one was definitely not "on the house ". In fact , now we are an hour plus later and having to figure out what to do about dinner, again ! I will end this with the statement that I used to love this place, great memories of little league baseball celebrations but the attitude from management with this experience and the one before has left me feeling that Lamppost really doesn't care anymore about the customer experience at all.
