Ordered two matching ceiling fans and had them professionally installed on May 5th. The next day one stopped working. Called cust svc and they made us go through tech support who said remote and receiver were bad. Received 2nd receiver in a week, fan still did not work. Called tech support, said receiver was bad. A week later received 3rd receiver, fan still did not work. Called tech support, Juan said it was a prob in light assembly and I needed a new fan. Waited a week and nothing, called cust svc and they said they don't know of a Juan in tech support. Sent a 4th receiver saying it was installed incorrectly and the we had to use a different electrician to install and have them call tech support while installing. Spent 165.00 to have electrician verify the fan was faulty. They sent another fan, went to put it up and the down rod does not screw into motor because it is too big. It is now July 8th and have been without light for over 2 months. Don't waste your time with this company, they do not honor your business. Everything is good if you don't have a problem, but if you do.....good luck! I'm officially cutting my losses and will never buy from them again. read more

I love it here!! If I had the money I would seriously decorate my house with everything here. The crystal chandeliers, they are so pretty. If I had high ceilings I would have to spend a lot of money here. To top it off, the customer service here is excellent. There was a chandelier I was interested in, but I wanted to see how it looks when the lights are off, so I asked for them to turn it off for me. They went out of their way to find the right one and turn it off. While I was waiting I even saw another sales man giving decorative advice. I love when they give their input. Anyhow, with the help of the sales person I did choose two of my favorite. She did have to order it because they were sold out, but she said it would take 3-7 days at the most. I can't wait until I get to have them installed. They also have an installation service here. I don't know how much it costs, but if I didn't have a contractor in my family it would have been very convenient. read more

Needing better lighting for my elderly Mom, but with me not living in the area, Bryan personally went to my Mom's apartment and did an assessment of the situation. OK I updated the review since the LP Citrus Heights store heard our explanation and provided a full refund rather than charging us a return fee like the Lamps Plus call center said we would be charged. Qudos to the staff at the Citrus Heights store for doing the right thing. Think twice before buying from these people, their return policy is misleading. With the two big box stores they will allow returns no matter the reason. The wife bought a lamp from Lamps plus and it came in a plain box without a picture so I didn't know what is was supposed to look like. The instructions were pitiful without clear illustrations, and no parts list. So once I assembled and installed the lamp the wife says it doesn't look right and is supposed to hang lower. We go over the instructions and look through the box and do not see any more parts. Finally after pulling the last styrofoam out of the box we find a couple of rods taped to the bottom. At this point wires are cut to length and we cannot put these rods on to extend the lamp. We call the Lamps Plus phone number and explain the problem with the packing and poor instructions and they are telling us that sorry were out of luck and it's going to cost us $50.00 dollars to return or exchange this product. With the poor directions and hidden parts this was a loser from the start and we will never buy from this company again and will stick with stores that stand behind their products and really to mean it when they say customer satisfaction. read more

I like this store, and the manager is very nice. Good staff. But word of caution, buy from the store not the website! I have bought things from the store and the service has been good. Products are all working great. They also take returns as long as you don't install and use the light. But of the few times I have tried purchasing from the website, the shipping often causes damage to the product (such as shattered bulbs). read more

I have had the absolute worst customer service with this lighting company. An integral part of the lighting fixture was missing from my order. I called the company several times to ask for a replacement part and got nothing but, the run around. Worst customer service, I would not use the company again. We purchased $200 worth of outdoor lighting and the cable to connect the lights which was on my order and paid for was not included in the shipment. Bought James Moder light fixture. Really liked the design, but the crystal ball hanging from the bottom did not screw in properly to attach to center column. Two of us tried several times but couldn't screw past 2-3 threads. Requested replacement for defective parts two times, but each time received defective items which appeared to be used. Very disappointed with James Moder and Lamps Plus lack of quality especially on such an expensive product. I've purchased lighting at Lamps Plus and very frequently have issues with quality. Need to research different sources since too much time spent returning and replacing products. read more

I actually went back and purchased two chairs after a conversation with the Mgr and was assured everything would go smoothly, I got some Russian dude (or whatever he is) I think his name begins with an S (like Suri-or something)BEWARE-he is as rude as they get-these chairs also did not work out and I had my employees return them to the store and he told my employees that I should be banned fromn the store because I returned the chairs-THE NERVE-REALLY? He should be FIRED-I will not go back there as he is still there-if he was my employee he would have been long gone-BEWARE of him-he is only nice when you purchase something, try to return it and you will see a very different side of him. read more

The only good thing about this company was that there was a brick-and-mortar store we could visit and see the lamps in person. After that, everything went downhill. The lamp was not in stock so they had to ship it, but it came defective with the stand obviously bent. So we exchanged it for another one, but that one arrived with a defective shade. We had to combine pieces from the two lamps to end up with an acceptable lamp. If the story stopped here, we wouldn't have complained. But the experience kept getting worse still. Customer service set up a FedEx pickup for the return, but they never came to pick it up, despite the daily calls for over a week. They kept reissuing the call tag, and finally admitted today that FedEx never received the request. I spoke with multiple representatives in their customer service department, some of whom were extremely frustrating to talk with - they were condescending and refused to transfer the call to their manager or someone else who could help. We had to hang up to call back with the hope that we would get a different person on the phone. They refused to issue a refund until the item arrived at their warehouse and could not guarantee that FedEx would pick it up next time, saying that FedEx will attempt the pick up three times, which is exactly where I was the first time I called. If we hadn't spent $400+ on the lamp, we would have just donated it instead of wasting time and energy trying to deal with something that should have been a simple return. This is the first time we are posting a negative review on yelp, just because our frustration seemed to go in one ear and out the other whenever we called customer service. read more

Unfortunately they have a policy that they do not require a signature when delivery is made. The delivery was made and I was charged for the item. I spent 30 minutes in line on a Sunday to pay for a $30 lampshade. The salesman said that the line had been like that all day. They are very short-staffed. However, they are willing to spend a lot of time with you once you make it to the head of the line. I didn't need any personal attention so I just found the long line annoying. read more

Chris, the manager, rescued me after I was stuck with a well-beyond-return-date lamp from the lampsplus.com website that the website customer support people could not help me with since our remodeling project had taken so long. I was about to write a very disappointed review but I talked to him first. I am so happy he did. He had me come in with the lamp, and allowed me to exchange it to another from store stock. He was cheerful even when a small piece of metal left on the outer box from our construction work cut his hand as he reached in to check the product and drew blood. He cleaned up and patched himself up and continued to help me. He checked the new item was complete and intact and good and sent me off on my way. If only I had come to the store in the first place I never would have bought a lamp that was too big. read more

I dread going into this store. Today, with a RMA in hand, I went up to the counter to hand the box to the cashier. It took ten minutes to get processed. He asked me twice if I was aware that I had ordered it in September. It has taken four months for the lamp to be delivered and irrelevant question if approved for RMA. My electrician recommended this place to shop for materials. The staff that I talked to were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what they're selling. I love how they greet their customers with a warm smile and an attitude to assist. Great selections both in store and online. I've got some ordered online and pick them up at the store. I bought two ceiling fixtures to replace some old ones and arranged to have their installers install them. When the installers came to install they said the first fixture needed a `support box' installed first. This is a $5:00 small metal box that would be screwed onto the beam with four screws. The installer said it would take about 2 minutes and they normally charge $80 to do this (but he would give me a special deal of $60)!! When I indicated I thought that was a ridiculous amount to charge for screwing a $5 box on the beam he said `well, there is liability involved'. Lol. In order to install the actual lamps, they would be working on ladders-in the case of the second fixture they would be on a ladder in the staircase- and dealing with electrical wires...that sounds like some real liability there, but screwing a small box onto a beam with four screws? His claim of `liability' smelled of more b.s. so I told them to pack up. I reported my experience to the sales person and he said the installation company they use is an independent company but he would let the manager of LampsPlus know. A week later, after not hearing from the manager, I emailed the sales person about their return policy. That was four days ago and no response. I feel that LampsPlus has both the capability and the responsibility to make sure their installers are not attempting to extort exorbitant fees from customers, and they, in any case, should respond to a customer's concerns and questions. And the salesperson Joseph B., while very helpful during the initial sale, was dismissive, at best, when informed of this problem, and non-responsive in the end. read more

I bought a 56" Possini Vengeance #8482;LED Chrome Ceiling Fan and Handy Ceiling Fan Installation. The delivery was fine. The installation never happened. On November 1st.the professional left me waiting for hours. When I called they said they could not find out why the professional wasnt in my house. They reschedule for November 2nd. The professional did not showed up again. No follow up, no notices, nothing! When I called (several times) they did not know what to say and offer to reschedule again. I cancel the professional installation and requested the money back for the installation ($150). They asked for 5-7 business day. When I called again on 11/13 they told me that they never processed the refund (could not explain why either). The person on the phone processed my refund and asked me for 5-7 business day. Today 8 days later still no refund. No calls, no follow up, no feedback, no one answers the emails. Completely disrespect read more

I have to agree with all the users who say that the service here is horrible. Like a lot of other people, I've shopped here multiple times despite the service being lukewarm at best because of the selection. The final straw though was when a desk lamp I bought (not cheap at $120) stopped working after 11 months. Despite having their complimentary 1 year extended warranty, I was told I needed to keep a copy of the 'warranty' because that's not stored on their computer. Despite that, they'd 'do me a favor' and take a look at it. After promising several times to call back (each time with a different reason--busy in the back, repair person is on vacation ,etc.) and never calling back each time, I ended up going to the store and picking up my lamp. In store purchases were great. On line was AWFUL. The lamp was described as having a glass shade and it was plastic. I tried to communicate with customer service and got a non response. I could not return it because it arrived in packing that had to be torn apart to access the lamp. It was damaged, which I fixed it with super glue on the lamp stand, and I now of course will put up with the plastic shade. Not what was promised or described. read more

I spent 2 hours there looking at different light fixtures, trying to imagine what would they look like in my room. bought one eventually. After that, I went to a hardware store and was able to spot good, tasteful and not nearly as eccentric lights there for approximately half the price. If you can't decide what lamp do you want, definitely go to this store, educate yourself, develop your taste. After that, you'll make much better choices. read more

My kitchen remodeling project was delayed and by the time my contractor saw the under cabinets lights I purchased were not hard-wired and instead were plugins, it was already out of 60 days return period. I called the LampPlus return phone number and was told to go into store for an exchange.
