First time I've ever been to this establishment, located on the Ewa side of Maunakea Street at the corner of Pauahi Street. My primary reason to go is because I was in need of some won ton noodle soup and I knew they made it here. It was a bit busy (it's a small place) so I was able to put in my order (I asked for gai lan & the gentleman behind the counter said they may have won bok, but asked the kitchen & they only had cabbage). Only had to wait about 5 minutes and was on my way home. The noodles were Hong Kong style (skinny but firm), the won ton delicious and the broth delicious. They included a small container of hot chili oil which I added to the soup for a bit of heat. This place will become my go-to for this soup from now on. After I had finished eating at a Vietnamese restaurant on Maunakea Street, I noticed a line outside Lam's Kitchen made up of elderly Chinese people. I love this place! Food is consistently fast and delish! So glad they have an online ordering system--ordered when I parked my car, did my chinatown shopping, then picked up my take out on the way back to my car. Perfect! The broth is so flavorful and the duck is so tender, but the real star of the show is their chili oil. It's garlicky and packs a little punch and is my favorite chili oil I've ever had. This place sells handmade noodle. The quality can compare to what you can get from Hong Kong. Our group ordered the fish one and the beef tendon one. We also tried the wonton noodle soup as well. Definitely recommend the beef tenden one. VERY TENDER and SOFT. You can skip the wonton noodle soup as the wonton only had a little shrimp and the egg noodle was the same as the one you can get from supermarket. The Handmade flat noodle on the other hand was amazing. We had lunch at this place with some friends (3-4-2026). This restaurant is located in a small strip mall and somewhat hidden in a corner of the mall. The interior of the restaurant is neat and clean. We ordered the wonton soup, beef chow fun, chicken wings, and the giant shrimp chips. The food was delicious and tasty. The portions were not huge but adequate. Service was quick. Bathroom was neat. This restaurant is a hidden gem among the "locals" in Honolulu. A very good place to try some very good Chinese food. I finally got a table with no waiting on a Saturday about 10:30, which was fine because I didn't have breakfast yet. After checking out Lam's on Yelp I was intent on ordering beef and tendon, one of my favorite dishes at Chinese restaurants. I opted for rice because the weather was too hot for soup noodles. The dish was delicious but I was disappointed in the amount of tendon in it and the portion I got did not resemble the pictures that I had seen on Yelp. The pictures I've seen had quite a bit of tendon in it and the portions were noticeably bigger. Oh well. Came to Chinatown on the weekend to support some businesses after they had to close for three days due power outages. Li Y suggested we have lunch here, for their look fun and chow fun. It was an education in rice noodles in an intimate setting with so much character. We ate family style, selecting two dishes to share: bittermelon and pork, and beef flank and beef tendon chow fun with an order of wontons to go with. One of my favorite restaurants here in Honolulu. It is authentic well priced and the food here is just absolutely amazing. Came here with my girlfriend when we visited Oahu and would definitely come back. We ordered the Braised duck egg noodle soup and the beef tendon look fun. The texture of the noodles were great. The soup was unreal how much depth the broth had. Food came out quickly. Usually not the biggest fan of wider noodles but this one here changed my mind. Restaurant is a little small there might've been eight or 10 tables max so you can expect to wait a little sometimes depending on the day. We waited maybe like 10 minutes. It is an authentic cantonese style restaurant which also means that the waiter may be not the most hospitable compared to other restaurants but that is part of the experience and when I see that, I know I'm getting good food. Everything was fresh and left fully satisfied and ready to start the day. Would 100% come back. I still dream about the broth and the flavor of the beef tendon and noodles. read more

My order was their famous beef tendon with look fun soup, plus an order of soft won ton to share. The food soon arrived, piping hot! The beef tendon soup was delicious and so savory, especially the broth! I'm probably doing it a disservice, but the taste reminded me of pho. And the soft won ton was a great palate cleanser that prompted to eat more! Still it was enough for a leftover meal. Total with tax before tip was under $50, average these days still very enjoyable. Ventured down to Chinatown for some ingredients for some Thai, Vietnamese and Filipino dishes I'm making. Went into Lam's for fresh, wide rice noodles for Pad kee mao and the place was packed out. We decided we'd come back after shopping and grab a bite here. Came back Lams an hour before they closed up. Samantha ordered Wonton soup and I had Beef and Choy Sum Chow Fun. Samantha enjoyed that the wonton broth was not salty but it was also very bland. Mine, on the other hand was extremely salty and bland with a capital B. The sauce was more like a gravy. I couldn't finish it, friends. I took a video of the noodles. It seems like they were cooked in a large portion, and then set aside to serve later, there was no separation to them at all. I'm really at a loss and can't reconcile how busy they were with the bland but salty dish food I received. Sometimes you can find a Hidden gem, but this one didn't work out, at least for us. read more
