I stopped by last night with some friends at this location inside North Market Bridge Park. We ordered just after 7 pm and had our food in just a matter of minutes. This was my first time trying a bahn mi, I ordered the steak. It was very good! I'm not a fan of mayo but I didn't notice it on the sandwich. The brunch of the vegetables was a great texture. And everything had good flavor too! My friends had tried Lan Viet before and they both ordered rice bowls that looked good. Service? Excellent! Atmosphere? Great if you love an indoor world market vibe that is North Market. Food? It is legitimately one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my entire life. I have never eaten a banh mi, but I have wanted to for years. I ordered the traditional banh mi, which was on an amazing sesame seed baguette. Wanted a quick but good lunch. Worried this would be crazy at noon, and there was a short line, but it moved quickly and the food was up in 5-10 minutes. I got the steak noodles. Tons of tender, tasty steak, perfectly cooked noodles, rice under the steak so it absorbed some flavorful goodness, super fresh veggies. Yum. Yum yum yum. Filling, tasty, healthy. Also got a summer roll- huge, with noodles and lettuce and shrimp, held together surprisingly well, even dipping into the sauce. Also got Vietnamese coffee, because why not have the good stuff? Strong and sweet. Friendly, fast service. Plenty of menu choices so I had a hard time deciding. The usual pho and banh mi, plus noodles and a few other things, not just the usual items you see at Vietnamese places. Excellent quality for the price. Parking in the free lots, or some free street parking- found a nearby spot at noon on a weekday, though they were rare. Definitely returning. read more

Outstanding bahn mi's here -- probably the best in Columbus. We have tried LAN Viet a few times and never been disappointed. I tried Lan Viet for the first time for lunch on a Saturday and enjoyed the food. I ordered the shrimp rice and noodle bowl. The shrimp was delicious. The bowl could've used more spice and flavor. It's not horrible, but it's not anything crazy. $15 for a bowl of Momma Lan's Pho Dac Biet is pretty steep. The pho flavor is there, but the noodles are too mushy and overcooked sometimes. I tried the summer rolls also and again, I get it if I'm craving it and in the area. The summer rolls seem pretty fresh with a typical peanut sauce. Nothing that "wows" me. However I find that the locations are not the same when it comes to customer service . I have never been charged 0.75-$1.00 for packets of Hoisin and sriracha in all the years I had been going downtown including my most recent visit last week . The pork slices were so tender and flavorful. I liked the pickled vegetables as well. A great blend of savory, sour, sweet and umami~ Salt & pepper shrimp: one of their special dishes. Tried Lan Viet for the first time today and would definitely recommend. The staff were super friendly and nice and the food came out super quick! It is also very affordable. For less than $10 you get a delicious and filling meal. I ordered he garlic noodles with chicken. I expected them so be a little more souplike based upon some pictures I saw but they were still extremely enjoyable. The chicken was tender and flavorful with noodles and scallions that were equally tasty. It was so good that I finished my entire bowl! Which is saying something because I the leftover queen. There are plenty of other amazing looking items on the menu I would like to try but the Pho and egg rolls will have to wait until next time! Lan Viet is one of my favorite vendors at Bridge Park's North Market. They are located towards the middle of the building and their stall has a lovely modern touch to it. There are several seats available at the bar area but they seem to be unavailable for patron use due to Covid. In terms of food, their garlic noodles are AMAZING. They are chock full of flavor and just delicious. I generally get a bahn mi and the garlic noodles if it is very hot out and I don't want to eat a steaming bowl of noodles. So excited the new North Market in Bridge Park is up and running! I was so excited to learn that Lan Viet was going to have a stall. Dublin doesn't have a shortage of pho spots, but Lan Viet is one of my favorites! Everything you love from the downtown North Market location is carried over to this brighter, brand new space and there's nothing not to love! The Pho broth is flavorful and the portion size is perfect. My dad tried the Banh Mi and really liked it. The prices are a little higher than the og location, but I'm sure rent is higher here too and it's worth it! I love the feel of the North Market locations, it's so easy for everyone to find something they like. The tables are open for use by all patrons, and there is someone who walks around and cleans them after they are used (see the placard in the pictures). Overall, we're so happy to welcome the new North Market and new Lan Viet locations to the neighborhood!! read more

Great stop on our most recent visit to the new North Market in Bridge Park Dublin. This is one of several food vendors that has recently opened, and we really enjoyed the noodle and rice bowl with chicken. I will say that you do need to jazz it up with the sweet sauce that comes with it and something spicy for flavor (ie rooster sauce). The pho bowls looked amazing, and almost everything on the menu is gluten free if that matters to you. Love this North Market in the suburbs and so looking forward to when it is fully opened with all the vendors. A welcome addition to Dublin. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Lan Viet, but I was near by so thought why not. I hope I just happened to be there on a off day. The only words I thought of while eating the phõ were "bare minimum". Was it warm? Sure. Was it in a bowl, sure. Was there beef? Sure. But it just felt like a shopping mall food court effort. The beef "slices" could only resemble little bits of beef that falls off the side from a Philly steak sandwich. The soup was bland with no more flavor than simply buying a can of broth. Noodles were over cooked, same texture as somethings that's been sitting in a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup, for a very long time. It probably didn't help seeing employees playing soccer behind the counter with an empty water bottle. But that's just ambiance. I do have fond memories of going to Lan Viet downtown years ago. This was not it. I hope it was just an off day. The summer roll was freshly made. read more

Really delicious pho! Flavorful broth, standard toppings (basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, hoisin, sriracha). I got the flash fried steak special pho and it was very flavorful. I think I'll always prefer the rare steak, because of its tender texture. But I was not disappointed by the cooked steak they put in this one. I love this place. The garlic noodles and tofu banh mi are great. However, I really wish they'd have more vegetarian and vegan options. The only broth that is available is chicken and beef, which makes the vegetable pho not even vegetarian. They also use Maggi (I'm assuming this is the chicken stock/seasoning) but it's unclear if they use it in the garlic noodles (which would make even this non-vegetarian). This past Saturday was my first visit to the new North Market at Bridgepark and we were there around lunch. After perusing my options I settled on Lan Viet as I'm always seeking out a good Bahn Mi. Went to the Lan Viet at the bridge park north market. The cashier was really helpful in letting me know how the tofu banh mi could be modified to make it vegetarian (no pate). It was delicious! The tofu is a softer style tofu that is fried and seasoned very well. The pickled veggies were zippy and crunchy. They were the perfect contrast to the rich dressing and fried tofu. The bread was sturdy enough to hold the filling but not so crusty that it's difficult to eat. I wish there was one more piece of tofu for the sandwich. I think it would make the perfect. If you haven't visit the North Market in Bridge Park, make sure you put that in your bucket list. Even though not all the stall is open up just yet, there is pretty of food and vendor for you to explore. Lan Viet is in both downtown and Bridge Park North Market location. The storefront in Bridge Park is bigger that the one in downtown. Beside the typical Vietnamese food items, such as Pho, Banh Mi or Rice and Noodle bowl, there are some special items that trigger my attention [Garlic Noodles, Chicken Curry and Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings]. I definitely have a hard time to decide what to get. I end up getting the basic Pho and Banh Mi combo as a try out. I really like the Mama Lan's Pho Dac Biet. The broth looks thin, however, it packs with in depth flavor. My favorite is the beef slices, which is extremely soft and tender. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi is not too far off either. Definitely can tell the well marinated pork, as the taste is infused with flavor, especially with lemongrass. The only small minus point is the pork is coated with a generous amount of oil, which make it tastes over oily. To be bias, I really like this new Bridge Park location more than the Downtown one. Well traveled readers would agree, there are some significant Asian communities in these here United States. "Chinatown" in the common vernacular, delivers some of the most sought after awesome-ness as only Umami can deliver. Chicago, LA, Seattle, Dallas (yes Dallas especially SE Asia) are templed troughs of gingery-lemon grassy-garlicky goodness. But these keystrokes are New York centric. For that reason, we turn to the dirty streets behind NYC's tombs, the Dept of Corrections and Criminal Courts in lower Manhattan. '84 was probably my first Vietnamese restaurant visit, after treading deep paths onto Mott St and the like. Pho Pasteur was its name and it was so different from the Chinese fare I`d grown up on. Mote specifically, it was so light and fresh different. Back then, few knew what lemon grass was. Then there was the rice thing, initially I thought it was cut rate because there wasn't a single whole grain in the serving. How was I to know broken rice was a thing? Regardless, Pho Pasteur on Baxter Street spawned other Vietnamese spots, some as close as right next door. And now some years later, CMH has their own share of Pho shops and Vietnamese cuisine. In the case of Lan Viet, it's come far from its humble beginnings in the North Market - downtown, not Dublin (has it been almost 20 yrs!?!?!). If I'm honest, I liked the their old downtown NM stall better. Today's version in NM Dublin seems blander, not as exotic as its predecessor and here's why; OLD Pho at Lan Viet was littered with cilantro, Thai basil, sprouts, pools of chicken and or beef fat (Pho phat), lots of lime and those awesome crisp fried shallots & garlic - dope stuff. This newer interpretation lacks the stuffs that made the original special, and memorable too! Lastly, the bone broth`s alleged 24 hr cook time, well, it still tastes like allspice. Before I begin my review of your food, I would like to preface this with the fact that I have extensive experience in the field of Vietnamese cuisine. I purchased the steak pho for the price of $13 (tax and gratuity not included). For a simple food court pho, the meal was roughly average in terms of quality, even though it was somewhat overpriced. However, if we are to judge this pho against a somewhat authentic version, this dish was subpar in nearly every way. The color and aroma of the broth appeared to be satisfactory, though the lack of depth of flavor was quite disappointing. The stock retained a murky beef flavor, and I was unable to detect any clear notes of the bone stock, if it was even used. Though this may be difficult to implement when taking economic feasibility into account, let the broth cook for longer to allow the flavor to develop better. It would also be beneficial to skim the broth of excess fat that dulls the clarity of said broth. The noodles were especially disappointing to my palate. I could taste residual starch that results from improperly rinsed noodles. Though this should be obvious, the noodles should be rinsed twice in a cold water bath, and properly shaken out each time. I believe you may find further instruction on the multimedia platform YouTube if this is too difficult to understand. As a result of these improperly prepared noodles, the noodles tasted thick and bland, further dulling a flavorless broth. The provided meat was around average in terms of flavor and texture. It is also supposed to be placed into the broth in a rare state; this is one of the unique characteristics of meat in a bowl of pho. The meat was a tad chewy (I assume from pre-cooking the meat to avoid salmonella contamination) and shriveled, but it was overall not horrible due to the thinness. My one recommendation is that the meat should be slightly larger and flatter, the thinness and flavor were appropriate as it currently stands. The provided vegetables were satisfactory in terms of freshness and variety. I saw the appropriate herbs were provided in the proper manner. However, the bean sprouts seemed oddly fresh. In many other establishments, the bean sprouts are shriveled and inedible. This was surprisingly not the case when I received my meal. Props to you. This brings me to the conclusion of my review. The quality of the food is not horrible when considering this establishment provides a food court-esque experience. Though it may be overpriced, this is acceptable when considering the fact that rent in Bridge Park is quite high. Is the pho authentic? Most definitely not. Will I come back for more food (and potentially another scathing review)? Most likely, as this is one of a few places I have access to (being a car-less high school student). Though the food may have disappointed me in nearly every way, I suppose it would be acceptable to the common plebeian. read more
