My only complaint is I wish I knew about this place sooner! Habe lived in Dublin for 10 years and have been going here for about 4. They have two menus one very authentic and one more "Americanized". Both have numerous delicious options to satisfy everyone's palate. We always look forward to seeing Eddie, he is amazing, always so welcoming and has the best suggestions on what to get. The Crab Rangoon is a go to (sauce is always tasty) as are the lettuce wraps, but I can't say enough positive things about the salt and pepper wings and the firecracker shrimp! Getting hungry just thinking about them. I suggest you try everything! One of our favorites is also the Sizzling Black Sea, they know how to cook scallops. I'm updating my review here. As mentioned before, this is not an authentic Chinese restaurant, but does serve a wide variety of fresh food. The ambiance is nice and the service is always friendly. I like their various flat noodle dishes -- a bit on the greasy side, but tasty. Some of their larger soups are also quite good. If you want authentic Chinese, there are much better Chinese restaurants from various regions in China, but for what it offers, Sesame Sea Asia Bistro delivers a solid product. read more

This was my first visit at an Asian restaurant and I loved it!!! I have a whole new craving now for Asian food after the experience I had here. (I have a peanut allergy and tend to stay away from certain Chinese and Thai dishes because some of them do contain nuts, but we called ahead and got the green light! The employee who we spoke with told us the two ingredients that have peanuts in them, and said they only cook in sesame oil!) Inside was small but cozy, and we were seated immediately as there were no other guests. The waitress brought our drink orders quickly and kept refilling them throughout my meal. She was on top of things!! Our portion sizes were HUGE and the servers check on us atleast 3 times making sure everything was correct and tasting great, which it was!! Excellent customer service here, everyone was so understanding of my allergy and very kind! I wish I got their names. One thing I find interesting is that the servers had a little table in the corner where they seemed to be eating lunch. Not sure if it was their lunch break, but I found it refreshing for the employees to be allowed to eat out in the public like that and not have to punch in/out of a break to grab a bite to eat. The food didn't distract them either, as they noticed once we were looking around ready to order (after we asked for another minute to decide) and came running over!! We had dinner here because our first choice restaurants were full. The menu had many options, mostly your traditional Asian fare. I had the Hong Kong pan fried noodles with shrimp, and started with the sizzling rice soup. Was disappointed that the rice didn't sizzle when put into the soup and wasn't that crunchy. The soup had a brown rather than white color and I didn't love the sour flavor. I asked for the pan fried noodles to come with less sauce, but the dish was drowning when it came. So, the noodles were soft. Ask for the sauce on the side instead. Decor was a bit bland and food came out slow, but service was friendly. read more

This was a place that I accidentally stumbled upon and I'm so glad that I did. The staff was so friendly and very on top of everything! It was my first time trying egg drop soup, i thought it was okay. It was a little too thick for me but had good flavor. For appetizers, we ordered spring rolls and steamed dumplings. I usually get my dumplings pan fried but decided to switch it up. It was definitely a nice change of pace. The spring rolls were very delicious. I especially enjoyed the plum sauce that came with it. My main course was general tso chicken with rice. The portion was very generous, I couldn't finish all of it! Flavor was on point for the general tso. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The next course of wonton soup was disappointing. (Frozen wontons + water = Bland Sesame Sea Bistro wonton soup) The wonton soup lacked any hint of chicken flavor and was underseasoned. Dont waste your time or $$ ordering. Unfortunately, our entrees were another let down. I enjoy a good pad thai with the spicy, sweet, salty flavors but this pad thai had only one flavor...burnt wok. Ugghh! The hong king noodles were disappointing as well. I love garlic, but the garlic overpowered the entire dish and had too much oil. The place was empty but still took about five minutes for someone to come over and get drink orders. Kids ordered a couple of sesame dishes, I got the Hong Kong noodles with chicken and the wife got the hunan chicken. Lunch comes with soup and we all got wonton soup. A bit spicier than I expected but pretty good. The sesame dishes were fine, exactly what to expect. Very Pei Wei like. The hunan chicken came with a bit of spice and was decent. During last years Memorial tournament, I ate here on my last night in Dublin and it was Fire .....I just got in town yesterday for the Memorial and they were my first request and they didn't disappoint! We had lettuce wraps, fried dumplings, calamari and crab wraps to start, which were all delicious!
