I went there to fix my mistake of cutting my own hair. It was choppy and bold tips horrible! Came in and got an awesome girl. She listen and showed her a picture of why I was hoping for. She LISTENED to me and knew just what I wanted. Got a deep conditioning treatment and she massaged my head it was heaven. And when she went to cutting she asked the make sure how I wanted it cut again just be sure. She was truly amazing and cut my bangs perfectly! I love my hair now and it's all thanks to Brintey! I've gone to this beauty school since 2002. The talent in this place is amazing but you can tell the owners have no intentions of upgrading or providing their students with an upgraded learning environment. They literally have the same vending machines and water fountain that they did since 2002 nothing has changed. I think this is wonderful for the students to be able to practice with their clientele. They get to experience all kinds of customers, and deal with chaos. All the students are taught very well. They are monitored by their instructors so they are able to ask questions and get any help they may need. If you ask for something that the student doesn't know how to do, French braids for example. They will pair you with someone who knows how to do them very well. read more

Went in yesterday (June 9, 2018) for a trim. Erica was my stylist and she did an amazing job. She did exactly what I asked which was a trim to get rid of all the dead ends and bangs. I'm not gonna lie, I was very scared to let a student cut my bangs but she didn't disappoint at all. It had been about 2 years since I had a haircut or trim. I just got a facial at the skin care side of the beauty school today. It was AWESOME!!! The young lady Camille was so good!! She was gentle when doing the cleansing . She let you know each step as she was doing it. My face looked so nice with a glow when I finished. I get facials all the time , I have my beautification monthly taking care of me routine, my favorite esthetician was a girl at Massage Envy. She does a wonderful job but today Ashley got competition from Camille. I even learned a couple of things that I didn't know about taking care of my hands from Camille when she did the after-facial briefing. I am so excited I am making another appointment. It was such a great experience. I highly recommend it. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, the bed was soft and nice-I dozed off a little during the facial!! Really nice experience. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences every time I come in, I bring my daughter to get her nail polish done and son to get haircuts.

This place is a great deal !! I went there to get a very simple haircut (long hair, very slightly layered, long straight-across bangs) and the lady who worked on me did a very serviceable job. I think it cost, like, $3.50, and then I tipped her $3.00. So it's a lot cheaper than even Supercuts or other chains. It did take a loooong time, I think because she was being ultra-cautious, so I wouldn't go here if I were in a hurry. I was told that the technicians/beauticians/students there have already finished all the classes required to get a license, and they just work in the school's salon to accumulate the necessary practical hours to get that license. This takes many months...so you might get someone who's fresh out of class (and has basically no real-world experience) or you might get someone who's just days from graduating, and has been working in there for many months. I definitely would stay away if the haircut I wanted was very technically difficult, or if I were very picky about my hair, but if you aren't, give it a try! I think I'll try it again for a pedicure some day... read more

I came in a couple of weeks ago to get my boys' hair cut...the Youngin was fine except I forgot Mom didn't want it that short on the top...at least I remembered the "No Line-Ups" Rule...but his Big Bro was giving me a hard time...he didn't want to cut his shag but Mom insisted something be done...and what Mom wants...well, you know the rest...the barber we were assigned, Ted, was very helpful with the situation and gave his expert opinion as to what he heard me saying and what The Boy wanted, exacting a fair compromise...The Barber went to work, not only cutting hair but talking with The Boy...in the end, everyone left happy...now I won't let any other barber cut The Boy's hair...my son learned a few important things that day...and one of them was the relationship between a Man and his Barber...if he keeps it up and stays local after finishing his program here, we will probably follow Ted to whichever Barber Shop is lucky enough to hire him...and that is one way my Son will learn about #Loyalty... read more

The kids in this beauty school are good. Some are learning & doing great & will succeed when they graduate. Some are m-m ok but with a bad attitude. I have been going there since 2013. I'm writing this review based on actually choosing the school to pursue your cosmetology career. The salon and the student stylist, well it is just that. Their students in their learning so it's a hit or miss. I went to complete my cosmetology training after dealing with Marinello school of beauty. Lancaster beauty school is far more reasonably priced and it's definitely more hands-on training there. My instructor, Mrs. Fisher was actually a testing proctor for the cosmetology state board so with her one-on-one I was able to pass my state board. The admissions staff and the director all very friendly. There was no hidden surprises when I came to tuition or cost. I would have saved about $10-$15,000 if I would've just came here instead of that other beauty school. You always have supplies, there's always product and the school is impeccably clean. There's also barbers an actual nail technician students there. So if you need help with that particular type of. Service and they will be a teacher and her student there that could help you. Keep in mind when you go there, these are people who probably have very little real experience, so whatever service you request might be done slowly. That said, the prices are always right, and the girls who have cut my hair, done pedicures, and I think I got a manicure there once have always been careful, friendly, and did the job to my satisfaction. I have never had a complaint with them, while most actual salons have done some major screw ups at least once! So I went to the salon today and got a trim, a full set of tips with acrylic overlay, and a pedicure. I was there for 3 hours and paid $34 including tip for everything. Keeping in mind the cheap price and that these are students working for experience and no pay, I knew not to expect perfection. Even so, I thought the trim was perfect. I asked her to cut off the dead ends and she did it in about 20 minutes. Easy and quick and SUPER cheap ($3.50). The acrylics were next and took about an hour and a half. I expected longer because they're students, but she didn't take very long. But she didn't pay super close attention to the details either. My nails ended up being uneven and a little bumpy. She also forgot to buff before polishing so they looked scratchy. I got home and shaved them down so they were all even, shaved the top so they weren't bumpy, and then buffed and polished. They look awesome now and they were only $17.50. With the work she did and the extra work I did, they look like the normal $35-$40 set but for much less. I'm happy with my nails and I think if I went back to the salon I would just make sure that they knew exactly what I wanted before starting and wouldn't be hesitant to ask for changes during. I think, as students, they need more of that because they really don't have 100% confidence and want to know that the customer is getting what they want. I give the trim 5 stars and the acrylic manicure 3, but the pedicure gets 1 star. It took a half an hour for her to get everything for the pedicure ready, which was fine, but then she spent the next half hour talking to friends so it took a while and then rushed through the end of it. I had nail polish on my skin and the french tip was not straight at all. She didn't put a top coat over it either. I basically redid them when I got home. However, she trimmed my toes and cuticles very well and gave me a good foot rub with very nice smelling lotion. Just getting my toenails looking nice before the polish was put on was worth the 8 bucks. I think I would go back to to get a pedicure and just make sure to be more vocal, just like with the acrylic nails. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the salon because it's veeeery cheap, the students are very nice, it's really clean, and I didn't wait more than 5 minutes to get started. I had an appointment because I went yesterday and they didn't have anyone there willing to do the acrylics. I can see why! Everyone was so curious about her doing my nails. I don't think many people come to ask for them because people can be very picky about their nails. I happen to be pretty easy going and wanted a cheap pamper day. I don't regret it. :) Tip and just a few things to know: - Lines can be long so I recommend making an appointment or going right when they open. - It's cash only but you can use a card if it's over $25. - It will take a while to get your stuff done, so plan for the time. - Be vocal about what you want. - Remember that they're young students and that this is like class to them. They are cautious with their work, but can also overlook details due to lack of experience. Also, it's not the most professional place (which I liked because it made it fun), so if you expect stoic boringness, then don't go to this salon. And lastly, if you expect perfection or have an important event coming up that you need to look your best for, don't take your chances with this place. You can get any student and, if you've ever been to any kind of school, you know that some are just better than others and you should not expect to get the best. read more

My main complaint is if i am going to make an appointment with someone in particular, i think it would be nice if that someone is actually there. this is the 3rd time i have made an appointment with one particular gal and she has not been there. I went to the Lancaster Beauty school for a full set of acrylics and was very disappointed in my experience there. As soon as I stepped into the place I knew I had made a mistake. The ambiance is horrible, to say the least and the place just screams YUCK. I put my prejudgements aside and went through with my appointment. The gal that did my nails was very nice, which is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. She seemed to know what she was doing and took her time to make my nails look somewhat decent. The only complaint I had about her abilities is that she didn't push the acrylic all the way up to my cuticles so it kind of looked like I had press on nails with some grow out. For $17 I really wasn't going to be picky...until I got home and a couple days later the acrylic started pulling away from my nails. My nails have barely lasted a week and i did have 1 casualty while opening a bottle top my nail popped off. I have NEVER had an acrylic nail pop off, especially after having them put on less than a week prior. If you are looking to have a set of nails put on for an evening out and you don't need them to last more than that, don't waste your money at a salon, go here. I for one, will not be returning to the Lancaster Beauty School...EVER. read more
