My husband and I stayed here recently and we really enjoyed it. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays! Check in was quick. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in the downtown area and close to a variety or restaurants and bars. I would definitely return!

Checked in after a long drive from New York City.

Centrally located in the downtown area. Walking distance to historical landmarks and restaurants especially Penn Square located across the street from the main entrance. The hotel is extravagant from it's historically famed architecture from the face of the hotel as they kept the old Watt and Shand building facade intact. When you walk in you can feel how grand and regal this place is. It's also a convention center and can cater huge gatherings. The rooms are clean and furnishings modern. A quick 411 on the rooms and hotel: PROS: 1. Clean rooms 2. Safe box and refrigerator provided 3. Huge walk in shower 4. Coffee machine, coffee and tea provided. No creamer though 5. Integrated Console station to interface electronic devices to display on the TV. 6. Plenty of TV channels to choose from. 7. Plenty of storage space. 8. Elevators have added security- room key required to activate elevator. 9. Fitness and pool center 10. A Restaurant or two located in hotel 11. Starbucks- but they don't accept the Starbucks app. 12. Vending machines - beverages only 13. HVAC works well 14. Small business center CONS: 1. 32 inch TV considered by today's standard too small, well at least for me it is. 2. No complimentary bottled water in room 3. No free WiFi unless you are a Marriott Bonvoy member 4. No Pen or paper in room 5. Water in bathroom basin difficult to set water temperature. When hot water selected a simple 1/8 of a turn on the cold water handle and the hot water completely turns cold, probably requires adjustment. 6. No USB charging slots. 7. Daily Parking fee to use garage In a nutshell the Pros outweigh the cons. The staff here is super friendly. The shops and restaurants are all centrally located which makes for a really easy commute by foot. A great place to stay if you plan to visit the Downtown Lancaster area.

Likely one of the best if not the best in Lancaster. It feels grand. Friendly professional customer service. Amazing location to walk to different areas in downtown Lancaster. The whole hotel is kept very clean and it is next to great bars and restaurants. Aside from having his own. Another review on those. Good value price and awesome amenities and facility all together.

I injured myself slightly today when walking for local Food by tripping on a sidewalk and thank goodness it wasn't a lot worse. Some gauze started to heal with the injury but an acquaintance helped me get the gauze out properly. Then I cleaned my hands with soap and water to make sure all the dirt was out and then bandaged it up properly. Thank you Lancaster Marriott Penn Square for the band-aids and ointment!!

(4.8) The Marriot at Penn Square, located at the very center of Lancaster City is clean, welcoming, and convenient. The hotel withholds the exact standards that you expect a Marriot to have from the lobby, front desk, and rooms. This time around I stayed within a block of rooms reserved for a wedding and the prices were definitely reasonable. Although the wedding itself was at the Excelsior (approximately 3 very walkable blocks away), it did seem like there were 2-3 other weddings held at the Marriot over the course of the weekend. This tells me that it is a very popular place to get married and must come highly recommended. The restaurant itself has a breakfast restaurant, Two Kings, a dinner restaurant, The Plough, and a rooftop lounge. The Exchange. The night before the wedding we had a very large family dinner of approximately 24 people in a private room with great views of the town. The service was great and the food did not lack in quality, despite the quantities needed to serve us. The Two Kings breakfast spot was a bit lackluster for my taste. It looked as if it would be a great spot for brunch but essentially it was an overpriced continental breakfast ($18/pp) if I did not get it complimentary from a little mishap at check-in I don't know that I would have eaten there. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-maintained. The bed is comfortable, the linens are soft and the desk has several AV accommodations if you need to work in your room. When reserving your room be sure to request a room with a city view, you won't regret it. Great hotel, with tons to see and eat close by! Definitely will be back!

We put the air on to mask the smell. I turned down the sheets and the bottom bed sheet it looked slept in. We ate at the restaurant the same evening...food was good. In the morning we asked them to clean the room. They said "okay, just don't hang the sign on door knob and they'll clean it". We got back that evening and the room was not made and still smelled of mold. We brought it to the front desk's attention and they didn't seem to care. The woman at the front desk has no business nor people skills. Since the food at the hotel was good the night before, we went back. The arrogant hostess with a superior attitude would not give us the middle table because she claimed there was 5:30 reservation so she sat us behind the hotel entrance door. We were finished our meal around 6:30ish and yet noone had sat at that middle table. We ordered our food, I had the veal scaloppini over angel hair pasta. It tasted rancid but I convinced myself that it was the overwhelming amount of capers that they put on it. I should have returned it, because of my Italian-born heritage, I have never in my life had homemade pasta with capers that tasted like vinegar. Instead I ate it because I was hungry. BIG MISTAKE! That night I the worst stomach ache and a brutal headache the entire night into the morning. Eventually it got so bad that I THREW IT ALL UP! i'm quite certain the headache was due to my mold allergies and the stomach ache from the bad rancid pasta. The arrogance exhibited by restaurant hostess, front desk manager's indifference and the overall lack of attention to guests was akin to the personality of a prison wardons as seen in some movies. Lack of hospitality skills aside, the bad pasta and the dirty smelly, moldy room my complaint should really be brought to the attention of the Pensylvania BOARD OF HEALTH DEPARTMENT. THIS HOTEL SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. It should return to being a cork factory. They don't clean the rooms, the handicap room where we stayed smelled of mold, sheets were dirty that I had to sleep on top of the top sheet. They did not clean our room even when we requested. The place is a dump! They should have comped our entire stay!! I was too ill to go to check out with my husband when we checked out, but when my husband said that I was physically ill from the moldy smell and the rancid angel hair pasta with disgusting capers they did not offer anything comp or discount on anything. It's a horrible place!!!

PART 1 My family…read morewas on vacation at the Eden Resort in Lancaster, PA to celebrate our daughter's 10th birthday. Our stay was cut short just one day after arriving. My 2 daughters enjoyed the pool multiple times from Thursday afternoon until Friday evening with no issues and no concerns. Friday evening 02/06/2026 around 5:35pm while my daughters were swimming with their father. ( I was in the hotel room which is accessed from the pool area) Their father and multiple other guests witnessed the assistant night manager take a photo in the pool area in the direction of my 11 year old daughter. The assistant night manager then left the pool area within seconds of doing so. My children's father called me immediately to come watch over the kids while he went to confront the assistant night manager or to speak to someone if he couldn't find him. I checked my kids, walked to their father and 2 other guests that were speaking about the incident. Stating they without a doubt saw the assistant night manager take a photo with my daughter in it. At this point the assistant night manager enters the pool area again. The girls father and I approached him and asked if he took a photo of our child. He denied taking a photo with my daughter in the picture. His reaction spoke volume he was shaking when approached and tried to walk away. He stated he was "doing his job" and then stepped into a closed area with his phone in his hand. There was a woman in the hot tub next to us who said "I saw everything don't let him delete anything without you seeing!" But that was already my plan! I stepped into the doorway of the area the manager stepped into. I said let's clear this up please show me the photo. After pushing his way out and finally bringing up the photos, I saw my daughter in the photo as he tried to delete them. I grabbed his phone as soon as I saw him trying to delete the photo of my daughter. She was bent over outside of the pool. He tensed up with two fists like he was going to hit me until my girls father got involved. The assistant night manager was shaking even more while my girls father deleted the photos checking his text/emails to make sure they weren't sent to someone.( at this point the asst manager allowed the kids father to have his phone) Everyone in the pool area is still watching. Things got heated verbally. He stated his photos were for work. For safety precautions since there was a tarp/door open in the area. ( there was 2 photos on the asst manager phone from this incident. ONE blurry of the overall area as if taken quickly and the SECOND photo with my daughter in it and the tarp in the background). I called the police. The police interviewed my girls father before interviewing the assistant night manager. They had found a photo with our daughter in his recently deleted section on his android that he told us his android did not have. They also checked his outgoing messages and entire phone to confirm that there was nothing containing our child still on his phone. In between the police being called and speaking with the general manager this man was MIA for at least 10-15 minutes. The GM's response and reaction was beyond disappointing. Along with all staff at the front desk as if we (along with other guests) were wrong for being concerned about this incident which made this more aggravating due to the type of situation. The GM kept a smile on his face and was dismissive, even when the police arrived. He stated that the assist manager did nothing wrong and will have no repercussions. The GM also stated that I was wrong to step into the staff area. (The police reminded him that any parent would have done the same!) I was not combative or threatening. I clearly stated I wanted, NEEDED to see the photo ( what parent wouldn't in this situation? If the asst manager did nothing wrong and had a clear conscience why did the situation go as it did? Why not handle it professionally, show the photo, apologize ect.) After the night manager was questioned by the police, the police determined that there was NO charges that are able to be filed. Staff confirmed that there are protocols and regulations in place for staff to take photos for safety or other reasons. Which would not allow a minor to be photographed. Given the circumstances and how the situation played out we were angry upset and wanted to make our daughters feel safe and comfortable. We left the Eden resort.

Secondly, the provided breakfast was very disappointing. So much so that we went shopping for breakfast items to keep in our room as we had no interest in dining out each morning. Also, our suite did lack robes which made it much harder to remain comfortable while we relaxed after soaking in our hot tub and during our morning breakfasts in room. That being said, if you'd prefer prepared breakfasts, there is a great couple cafes just on the other side of the parking garage that open fairly early. Just don't expect this hotel to satisfy any real hunger in the morning. To summarize what was available: Overly lemon juice coated fruits Plain white bread products with a toaster Scrambled powdered eggs and bacon so thin it doesn't even taste like bacon Cereal/milk Oatmeal Overcooked hard boiled eggs (green ring around yolks) I think I saw yogurt on people's tables but it was gone when we arrived. Lastly, the tables in the breakfast room are very wobbly. We moved once and it was still an issue at the next so that was about the time we left. That being said, here are the things we loved: -Great ambiance in the lobby with a couple games and sketchbooks to pass time. -Friendly front desk staff -charming suite with spacious hot tub and powerful shower -comfortable couches, bed, and chairs -in suite table was sturdy and did not wobble -proximity to cafes and shops -free parking -restaurant on site; for dinner only. -nearby park/trail decent for jogging/walking
