This is one of our fav spots on the Cape. A place to rub elbows with locals and have some chowdah. It is ALWAYS crowded so if you don't mind bellying up to the bar for a spell till a table is ready then come on in. The food runs from good to OH, MY GAWD amazing and there is plenty of it. My fav thing to get is a turkey club with a cape red. Nothing better. My sister is a big fan of the burgers, and spends the rest of the night asking why she ate the whole thing...but in a good way. My mom this time got the muscles and was speechless with eating them. It's a fun place with signs for local businesses hanging as decoration with some visitors adding out of state license plates. Then a different waitress asked for a drink order some of our party started to order but we said can we have a minute and were ignored. Wow what a POOR experience today was! I was so excited to bring my family in for lunch as I have gone for quite some time and my family loves to look at all the license plates. The waitress was SO miserable, to the point it was uncomfortable. So cold, so quick, so non welcoming. I have been in the restaurant business for over twenty years and you should be ashamed you have an employee on the floor with this demeanor. Also, during our experience she was rude to an older woman with a service dog. She then proceeded to say how she called her out and then went to the other waitress and laughed about it. Stopped into Land Ho after the Independence Day parade. The place was packed with many of the parade participants and parade goers. It seemed as though this place was an Orleans staple for locals. The bar offered many local brews along with some great tasting Guinness. Drinks were served quickly and cold. We were seated in a modest patio which was perfect for us. Had dinner here last night and it was a very good experience, had the fish and chips and it was fantastic cooked perfectly, had fish the other night at another establishment and it was too soft breading wise and fell apart like sand. This food was really good it was flavorful and the tartar tasted like it was made in house very flavorful... and yeah tartar matters some taste horrible, French fries were also really good surprisingly, but what was amazing was the seafood cakes i highly reccomend them was the perfect appetizer... only thing i wish this place had was a seafood platter but otherwise i was impressed, service was also good would def come again read more

First stop on our 2025 trip to Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Beer hit the spot after a full day of plane travel. But the star of the show is always the clam chowder -- thick and creamy, loads of clams -- and the Fried Clams. The clams are fried to perfection, soft and crispy. Went to meet a friend for lunch and she picked 3 Fools. I yelped it and I saw it was takeout only. She then suggested Sunbird and I get there and they are only doing takeout, so she recommend Land Ho and it was perfect. There's a stand outside that asks you to wait for someone to come out. The waitress came out and I went inside and ordered a glass of wine as I waited for my friend. The place is quite large inside and they had a door open for better ventilation. We started off with chicken wings but you know, girls yack, yack, yack so we just talked and never ate the chicken wings. I overheard the bartender telling a patron that the cheeseburger club was great so I ended up ordering that and it was great and the presentation was nice too, unfortunately I didn't get a photo of it. I did get a photo of the chicken wings. I ended up having one but that was long after they were cold. It was still good! I brought the other 3 sections of my cheeseburger club home and half of the fries because there were a ton and my husband really enjoyed the leftover cheeseburger club. It's nice to know that some places in Orleans you can still sit inside. I know it's a risk but it's late fall here and it's way to cold to eat outside, so sitting inside of a restaurant with a door open - is the best we can do. Am spending 2 weeks on the Cape, I love that so many established restaurants offer Portuguese kale soup. I always spend my vacation trying them out. I went here last night and I can truthfully say that in 20 years of coming up to the cape this is without a doubt the worst kale soup I have had on the cape. They did switch it out for chowder which was okay. My baked potato was less than okay, not fluffy with damp skin. I will say the people in the table next to me seem to be enjoying their meal. But I see no reason to go back. I'm giving two stars because the people and the table next to me not only really enjoyed their meal but ordered extra food to take home. Didn't have high expectations for food beyond standard dive bar fare, and that's what it was, but the prices were outrageous. Bad kale soup with pepperonis in it? (Orleans should be embarrassed) and soggy damp potato skins. $3 for soda water! Lol. However, what compelled me to leave a one star review was the RUDENESS of the waitress with dark hair and long pony tail that we had. A previous reviewer mentioned they felt treated like she "had insulted her in a past life" - and that's exactly how she made me/us feel. Immediate resentment from her the moment we arrived. We walked in on a late Sunday afternoon in early December. Not exactly the height of the season! The bar was packed but the restaurant area was not. The first thing you see at the host stand is a big sign that you can't be seated until your whole party is there. So welcoming. There were 3 tables free, we were a party of 4 waiting for the other 2 to arrive who were 5 minutes behind us. She rudely told us to go to the bar or wait outside (bar was packed, nowhere to sit). When we sat down, she was just pushy and rushed us the entire time; it just felt like she was trying to turn over the table as fast as she could (but why, there wasn't anyone else to be seated, it wasn't even busy in the restaurant area). She banged into me and bent over me BOTH times she came to serve the food on the table, and said "oh sorry" the second time. I think she was doing it on purpose. I stopped making eye contact with her. She asked people to please put their forks and knives on their plates when it came time to clear the plates, rather than pick them up herself. We were seated next to the dirty plate station, she crashed the plates in there loudly the entire dining experience. No water was ever put on the table. When the bill came and I saw the $3 charge for club soda and how pricey all the bad food was, I just laughed. This place would greatly benefit from some less salty service and some therapy. Being treated like your some kind of second class citizen the moment you walk into the door to a place where you're going to overpay for bad dive bar food is a bad experience and warrants Yelp reviews like this. It isn't a trip on Cape without a stop for lunch here. The hostess and management have the best hospitality even during the busiest hours! We put our name in (party of 4) and they were spot on with how long our wait would be. We sat at the bar and I'm not a Bloody Mary fan, but after watching the bartender make a few we all had to see what the hype was about. He knows what he's doing- Gets the job done and wicked good...even got another round after! Bartender was appreciative we told him in advance we were only grabbing appetizers. Love this place. I have been there a half dozen times. Food is consistently good and a great selection of beers.

Their clam chowder is delicious. Baked seafood cakes were good. Service was good and the food came out quickly and hot.

Definitely the best clam chowder on the Cape!! It was my fourth bowl of the day! The winner!! Captain Parkers a distant second!
