We loved this place. In town to visit friends and popped in to get some caffeine on the way out. It's in a good spot and easy to find. We ordered two lattes, which were both very nice. A little heavy on the foam maybe, but the coffee was really good. Had a couple of donuts which were very fresh and tasted great, too. The server was super nice and had the drinks out fast. The place is cute. Eclectic odds and ends are hanging around everywhere and the music was good. Liked it well enough to pick up a t-shirt too :-) Looking forward to our next visit! read more

A quaint and cozy coffee shop in the Bay View neighborhood. It's almost like stepping back in time, with some rustic bicycle decor, old bookshelves, crates, tables and comfy chairs to lounge. There is a little free library and boardgames you can play while you enjoy your coffee or sandwich. They use Anodyne beans for their coffee and they make simple, fresh sandwiches. I went with the Trike - Deli style chicken, pepper jack cheese, with a spicy aioli chipotle sauce on a ciabatta bun. Simple and delicious. Service was good as well. A nice homey cafe where you can post up and work, catch up with a friend or come alone and cozy up with a book for awhile. read more

Used to love this place but as I never see the owner anymore; things have gone down hill. I've heard other grumbling about this place online and was hoping it was outlier experiences but this morning let me down. I ordered my food and patiently waited. Then a couple minutes later, some guy comes in and prefers, is promptly served, and leaves with his order. While I'm still waiting. WTF. The last few times my wife has been she had said the service was lacking and even described one employee as disgruntled. Plus, on a more petty note, they used to carry voodoo chips but those are long gone too. Running out of reasons to support this place which sucks because I much prefer a local spot close to home. Going back won't be so enticing. read more

Cute small coffee shop. They have a special blend of coffee made by Anodyne. The baristas were nice and also offered recommendations. They have plenty of syrups to choose from and specials throughout the week. It was a little pricey as they charged 75 cents for each single pump of syrup and extra for ice as you can see from the receipt. It was still great coffee but just a little pricey. read more

I live a few blocks away. Coffee and food are 10/10. Vibes are immaculate. Love the cake lady cake and jalapeño cheddar bagel is soooo good. That said, the service here is never great. Baristas almost always have negative energy and act irritated even when it's slow or no one else is in there. Basic requests like asking for no onion bc I have GERD and yet there's onion. Running out of ice frequently. Between all the cons, It's to the point where I don't go here even nearly as much and go the extra couple blocks down the road to Anodyne. Same coffee, better service. It's just a bummer because the actual atmosphere, food and drink are great. read more

Just love how cozy Sprocket cafe is! It's one of my favorite spots to come and work at on gloomy days. The cafe gives off such homey vibes. I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I usually stick to tea or some mixed drink but they do serve their own toast from Anodyne. If you're looking for a local spot that really knows their customers this might be the spot. And there's some variety of bagels, donuts, sandwiches and baked goods to choose from. It's a smaller cafe so it can hard to find seating if you're looking to be with a group but we were lucky. The atmosphere was cute and homey and I enjoyed the coffee there. Stopped by for a breakfast sandwich. I ended up ordering a plain bagel, cream cheese, capers, red onion, and boiled egg. This was so good, I wasn't sure how I felt about the capers, but they added the perfect bit of saltiness and the red onion added the perfect amount of crunch. Definitely one of the best bagel sandwiches I've ever had! I also ordered a lavender latte with oat milk - delicious! So smooth. I'd definitely come back here in a heart beat. Sprocket Cafe is a quaint, quirky little coffee shop on KK serving up coffee made with Anodyne beans. They also serve up cakes from The Cake Lady as well as a variety of sandwiches and breakfast/lunch bites. When I've gone, however, it was mainly for coffee, which as I mentioned is made with Anodyne beans and definitely solid. I like to enjoy my coffee in-house as their space is decorated with an eclectic variety of vintage items (including a black & white tube TV!). It truly is a charming little coffee shop. It is small, so might not be the best spot if you're wanting to have a somewhat confidential business meeting. It also probably wouldn't be the best spot for large groups looking to stay and sip. The service when I've been in is a skosh on the slower side, but it's a small spot and while I've been there, there was only one person working. So, if you're wanting quick in and out kind of coffee, probably not your spot. If, however, you're wanting to leisure over a cup of steaming Anodyne coffee in a delightful environment? This cafe is a hidden gem and I wonder why I haven't found it sooner! If you're into the moody maximalism aesthetics, this place is it. It has a cozy atmosphere to it. Although very limited seating, it's still a nice and cute place to have a quick catch up sesh, or get some work done here. They also have free secondhand books up for grabs; a huge plus. We had their Eggs Sam bagels, caramel latte and mocha with a shot of espresso. Worth the $22 breakfast, in my opinion. Service was friendly and helpful, too! I came here for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised! The sandwich I ordered was amazing! The bread is freshly baked at a local bakery. The outside had a nice toast and the inside was nice and light. The sriracha mayo had the perfect amount of kick to it. The onions and mixed greens on top were very fresh. The sliced chicken was very thing and only about 3-4 slices, so it should have a little more. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is a small coffee shop style. Haven't been here for a while - covid seriously cut into my coffee shop experiences! This is a great little coffee place, cozy, interesting and delich coffee and food! What better than a nice generous slice of "Cake Lady" cake and your favorite style of coffee?! I must admit that other than the cake, I have only ever had the bagel Sarnie with hummus, and cucumber - because I love it! This is a great little laid-back neighborhood coffee shop. The decor is mid-century disorganized. ;-) Random 1950's kitchen tables and chairs are the seating, as well as a well-worn couch. There are vintage bicycles, parts, and signs on the walls to add visual interest. The mugs are mismatched and interesting too. They have a partnership with Sprocket antique shops next door, so perhaps the decor will rotate (hint hint to owner). There are a few baked selections from East Side Overstock nibble on. And they have Gelato! Try the Affogato, a shot of espresso over a tiny scoop of vanilla, chocolate, or espresso flavor ice cream. Coming here feels more like visiting my grandma's kitchen than coming to a commercial establishment. And that's a good thing! Stop in for a quiet cup of joe! read more

I gotta adjust from 5 to 4 stars. I still love a LOT of things about Sprocket, and they've added beautiful cakes from The Cake Lady as well as some yummy sandwiches and snacks. They showed the World Cup on their black and white TV which is so rad. Unfortunately the one item that has frustrated me enough to change my rating is the lack of ice. At least 5 times in the last few months when I or my husband have visited to get an iced beverage, they've been out of ice. Once I can understand, not having coffee cubes I can understand, but how do you not have any ice at all? I drink iced coffee almost all year round so when that's not an option, it's really frustrating. I don't mean to be harsh, but that seriously needs to be straightened out. I've been walking/driving the extra few steps to other coffee shops because I can't reliably get an iced coffee at Sprocket. :( read more

I didn't even know about this place until a fellow Yelper, Carrie G., mentioned this place was close to me. It happens to be right next to the antique shop by the same name on K.K. and Morgan. I have given up on our local Starbucks. I was pleasantly surprised by the drink choices and prices. $3.00 for a 16 oz. chai latte is amazing. My hubby and I also ordered the breakfast bagel which came with ham or turkey and a spiced mayo. It was pretty good. I recognized the barista as one of my Walgreen's customers. He is always friendly. many of my fans are constantly asking me "dara, where's the best place to find a nice cuppa joe and a toasty bagel!?!" and i reply with "oh jeez, do i have the place for you!!" i had a lovely experience at sprocket cafe. from the minute i parked in the right turn lane, i knew this place was going to be something special. the woman taking my order was so lovely and was extremely apologetic due to their lack of tomato (which would have put the sandwich from a 10 to a cool 12). i especially lost my mind when they said they had COFFEE ICE CUBES?!?!?! AYO!?!? i ordered the egg sandwich on a sesame bagel which consisted of some hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, capers and red onion on, you guessed it, a sesame bagel. first of all, the toast on that bagel was POIFECt. they have truly mastered the art of toasting. that bagel hit so hard. the rest of the sandwich was well balanced, however, i wish they cream-cheesed both sides of that magnificent bagel. sprocket cafe if you are reading this, i request more cream cheese. it also needed just a wee bit of salt on those cucumbers. a little twist from the salt grinder next to my table and i was good to go. i was also a big fan of the atmosphere. a great place to discuss the meaning of life. i personally was discussing some extremely important matters with my peers such as hot takes about food, and what the best pasta shape is (it's the short and fat rigatoni. obviously). in conclusion, i would highly recommend the sprocket cafe and i shall be back. read more

Cute shop, great ambiance and friendly service were definitely had at this little coffee shop. I also enjoyed a slice of fresh, tasty cake from The Cake Lady. The main gig though [ c o f f e e ] was rather disappointing. The cappuccino was declared not good and my chai latte was one of the worst I've had. I feel terrible saying so and I did drink it all since it wasn't too terrible tasting. I'm not nearly as picky as my cappuccino-loving boyfriend, I'm very forgiving actually, but my issues were that it was boiling hot (no reason to make drinks too hot to drink) and it had no chai flavor. So boiling hot steamed milk with perhaps a hint of chai. Eh. While this was my first try, it wasn't his and he said the last cappuccino he had there was also not very good. I'm sure their regular coffee drinks are just fine but I can't recommend a drink that uses the espresso machine/steamer. Worthy of a visit if you are in the neighborhood though! read more

Such a cute little cafe. The food was delicious. I ordered the turkey and swiss sandwich on a jalapeño and cheddar bagel. I also had the white hot chocolate with an apple strudel. This is the cutest coffee shop, barista is super kind and will strike up a conversation with you about anything! My friend had decided to drag me here after school. After hearing a mouth full about it I had to stop by! They have cold brew, coffee, doughnuts, cookies, cakes! Just about anything you could imagine in a coffee shop. This place is really neat! My girlfriend and I stumbled in here on a lazy Saturday morning for a cup of coffee. The first thing you notice is the vintage items such as a TV that looks like it came from the 60s or 70s and still works. Basically has the feel of drinking coffee in someone's basement. This place is only a short walk from our home, so we wandered over a few weeks back. The ambiance was a little strange for me, but after talking with the guy working here, we found that the place is owned by the same people that run the adjacent antique store. That being said, the ambiance makes sense! The coffee was good, and it definitely feels good to support local business, instead of going to a politically charged mega-giant, like Starbucks! Great little cafe! I found one tasty vegan item on the menu, a bagel, hummus and cucumber sandwich (I hope the bagel was vegan!) and had a nice cup of chai tea with almond milk, my boyfriend had an item that he thought was pretty good (I don't remember what it was). The decor and vibe are mostly what I like best about this place. The staff was friendly although he did have to ask me three times if I had wanted red onions on my sandwich, and he did get my boyfriend's Iced Mocha drink wrong, he made it hot. But so what? Vegans and weirdos like us are used to getting our orders wrong, we just have to wait until the rest of the world catches up to us. :) We noticed a stack of coloring books and word puzzle books on the counter so we played a word search game while there and it was fun!
