This place is class! Had an unexpected overnight in Jamestown, N.Y. last night and stayed downtown at the Best Western. Asked the front desk about who might make a good steak within walking distance and he recommended the Landmark Restaurant, "but it's a bit pricey." "No problem, work is paying" lol. From the moment you walk in until the time you leave, you're treated with kindness and respect. The atmosphere is like something from a better time. I chose to sit at the bar since I was alone. The bartender was just right on with everything and the food, drinks and service were all top notch. I really enjoyed being here and hope to visit again. read more

As an out of towner from NYC, this restaurant blew me away with customer service. Seems like restaurants these days do not understand the value of providing a great experience in all key aspects of the service industry. Moving forward... From the moment I walked in I was kindly greeted by what seemed to be the host/manager (or maybe he just knew everyone there for a long time). We did not have reservations and they seemed pretty formal, however we were able to be seated immediately and to our liking. Our host could tell that we were not from this part of town and had a welcoming conversation that made us feel right at home. The wine choices were amazing, and they also had the option to have an eight or five ounce, which I feel many restaurants don't offer that choice. And the wines were a great price point. We were constantly check in on the entire night by all staff not just our server. He was great too by the way. I highly recommend the mussels, calamari, and chicken Alfredo. From beginning to end I couldn't ask for a better experience. This restaurant is definitely one of a kind and if I pass through this part of town again, there would be no doubt in my mind to eat here. read more

My wife and I ate here on our anniversary. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The service, atmosphere and food were all amazing. We both had a scallop and shrimp dish that was out of this world. I would have thought we were in NYC, Boston or Miami vs Jamestown. The prices were very reasonable. I will go back every time we visit Jamestown! Well done... you should be proud! read more

Service was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable server. It was my husbands birthday so I wanted to take him to a nice restaurant in town. This was a popular choice and I'm glad we went. We were seated in the main dining area, nicely decorated and roomy. We both had steaks which were amazing and the prices were not too high. The salad is served family style with bread and it was so good. Dessert was awesome, I had the carrot cake and he had a peanut butter pie. We will go back for sure next time we are in town. The past two times we went here(Christmas 2021 and March 16, 2022) we had the same experience. Both times we were at the restaurant a total of 3+ hours for a simple meal. Both times we had the same waiter "Tony" and he seemed to be the only one waiting tables. He was always swamped and took forever to come back to our table. The food both times arrived lukewarm like it had been sitting around in back. In order to get his attention a person at our table had to get up and chase him down. The restaurant both times was not full- several tables were empty. So needless to say we are terribly disappointed and will not be making plans to visit anymore. read more

Out of towners looking for something good. We celebrated my mother in law's birthday (Jamestown native) this week and were quite surprised at the excellent experience. First, we were dressed casually and the host smoothly let us view their white tablecloth room and the casual bar/tavern room, which we selected. Second-drinks ordered and served quickly. My son had a drambuie that was giant! If you like cocktails, better come here. Third-food-excellent. My sea bass was buttery delicious and had perfect texture. "Old school elegance" is the best way I can describe this place. It's the kind of place I can picture a big Italian family coming for dinner after High Mass on Sunday afternoon. They have a nice range of menu items that includes steaks, seafood and pastas. There's a pretty broad price range, too, making it affordable for just about any budget. To say we were pleased, would be an understatement. Calling ahead to inquire about the menus diversity, and learning that there are two menus to choose from, I was encouraged as I was trying to accommodate our (large) group's varied tastes, and dietary restrictions. When we arrived, and stepped into the foyer, I was instantly charmed. A very friendly woman greeted us with a genuine smile, and upon asking if we had a reservation, recalled my inquiry as to our groups size, reservations, and the menu. We enjoyed varied cocktails, which the bar tender poured perfectly, and were shown our table, but not rushed into our seats. Our server was friendly, attentive and thorough. He offered us the special, describing the ingredients, and part of its preparation, and allowed us to review the menu leisurely before taking our order. Our salads were served family style, with baskets of mixed rolls. Water service was promptly delivered, and beverages refilled. When our meals all had arrived, we were delighted by both the aromas as well as the presentation. Each of us wound up commenting through happy cooing how delectable our first bites were; praise which carried throughout the meal. I don't think even one of us felt like we'd missed dessert as our meals were impeccable. For the chef to satiate a table of sweet lovers with the main entree, (especially those within our group,) it is a major feat. This location in Jamestown is known best for its wonderful seafood dishes as well as their steak choices. Their reputation does not meet expectations unfortunately. Parking is limited. If you have a reservation be prepared to wait additional time before being seated. If walking in, best of luck to you. This location is not child friendly. Difficult to even consider it an ideal location for a prom dinner. Decor is like walking into a museum. It's attempt to remind us of the glory days of Jamestown is more geared towards the older crowd. My party was by far the youngest by 40 years easily. Perhaps the fact that they do cater to an older generation more often is the reason a meal would take about 4 hours. Prepare for a marathon of stories. Bring some cards even to stave off the dull drum. When our drinks finally arrived, my wife found some additional beard hair in her drink. I was served the wrong drink. Our waiter never noticed my untouched glass, nor my wife's. It was only after he returned after about a 30 min lull that we were able to bring it to his attention. Our drinks stayed on the table for another 30 minutes. My wife and I stuck with water for the rest of the meal. The appetizer we chose was the fried calamari. Calamari was done nicely however we were not aware nor impressed with the fried jalapeños. The presentation of the calamari left much to be desired. A ridiculous taco shell bowel accompanied the calamari and jalapeños. The salad was nothing exceptional except that it was a salad that was edible. My wife's entree arrived at the 3 hour mark. Mine arrived at the same time. She ordered the chicken parmigiana and I had the beef Wellington. Her entree was what to be expected. I ordered a medium rare Wellington and unfortunately was served something that was medium well done. This restaurant has so much potential but just like the city it's located in, fails to deliver. Went to Landmark with a party of 6 and had a wonderful night. Ask for Barb, she was amazing! Food was fantastic. We got everything from Sea Bass and Scallops to steaks and lasagna. Everything was on point and if it wasn't, they fixed it immediately. The menu has a great variety, something for everyone and every palate. We have been here before and have always had a great experience. We chose this place to celebrate our 45 th wedding anniversary. Arrived for our 7 pm reservation.. long line ahead of us, also 7 pm reservations. Waited about 10 minutes. Our waitress was pleasant but obviously in a hurry. Food was brought out in short order, tasted great but we felt very rushed to finish. Our waitress was always running by and stopping to say if there was anything else we wanted. I had called ahead to make a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday. The gentleman who sat us acknowledged his birthday. Started out impressed with the beautiful decor and attention to detail. The waitress was not informed that it was his birthday. 2 other tables had cake brought out with candles. Nothing. Not even asked. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and were let down. They were very small. For the price, I had expected gulf shrimp or more than 8 small ones. I order the Tuscan Bowl. It was ok, not sure the value matched the price. My boyfriend's filet was amazing. Came into town Friday July 1st and had no reservations anywhere, but wanted to try a local place. The staff at The Hampton Inn recommended this place and so glad they did! The host may have been the best host experience we've ever had. So charming. I am upset I didn't get his name, but he's a retired gentleman who works a couple days per week. Being an older establishment in a town like this I expected good, but got great. Wine quality and pour was good, calamari app was fresh and crispy with an unexpected spice from the jalapeño and chutney. Sea bass with risotto perfect, and eggplant roulette was yummy. I really wanted to like this place . Came here with my parents and girlfriend . The service was incredibly slow . I waited for a second beer for almost 10 minutes I almost went to order at the bar . The rest of the table waited the same for another bottle of wine . My filet was excellent but the Wellington was doughy and tasteless . The special today , striped bass with a mushroom pudding was equally bad . The fish was under seasoned , dry and none of the flavors worked together . There was also a rack of lamb ordered at the table that was seasoned and cooked perfectly but the accompanying mint pea Risotto was way under cooked. Usually , awful service and the entree shortcomings can be over looked, but for the price this was a huge letdown . We will definitely not be back . Also all entrees came with a salad . We were served a "family style" salad bowl that was barely enough for 2 people. We asked for another bowl and the server , obviously overwhelmed from her other tables, put her finger up and said I'll be back with the ranch . Although she did forget the ranch; We wanted another beer , another bottle of wine, another bowl of salad, water refills and the ranch . Service was awful as was the Food besides the filet . My husband brought me here for my birthday and all I can say is WOW!! I started with the Stuffed Dates as my appetizer and they were delicious.. my husband had the mussels which were steamed perfectly. My main course was the Pesto Scallops on Sweet Pea Risotto and it was amazing! Scallops were cooked to perfection. My husband had the Lamb Lollipops which were scrumptious and also cooked perfectly..he's fussy about his lamb and could not say enough about them. On to dessert which are house made. Coconut Cream Tart and Carrot Cake, both were outstanding. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress did a fantastic job!! We will definitely be back. The kind of presentation you'd expect in kitchen nightmares. People like to compliment the decor, as well. We all enjoyed dinner at the Landmark. Our server, Darlene, was friendly and attentive. She recommended that I get the Landmark Royale and it was absolutely amazing. Scallops, shrimp, and seafood risotto made for a decadent meal that was accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus. My grandmother got the filet and was able to cut it with a butter knife. I tried a bite and it was truly the best steak I have ever had in my life. My mother had the ribeye and raved about it. We started with the scallops appetizer and everyone enjoyed it. I didn't drink but the two of them enjoyed their alcoholic beverages and I was impressed with the prices. Everyone left feeling like this was the best way to end our trip. (I picked up the tab and felt that the food was WELL worth what we paid.) We will definitely be back! read more

As a local, this is one of my favorite restaurants to take family to for a nice dinner. The coconut shrimp appetizer is great! super crispy and the Pina Colada dipping sauce is awesome. Probably one of the best dishes in the entire restaurant is the Pepper Bacon Wrapped Dates. My family usually orders multiple of these dishes since they go so fast! I haven't had bacon wrapped dates at other restaurants that even come close. I have had to send my steak back to the kitchen, but I usually order my steak well-done. I have had the chicken Alfredo and mushroom stuffed ravioli a few times, and they were always excellent! highly recommended! They decorate this restaurant very nice for christmas. read more

Recently celebrated my dear friend's birthday. We had a wonderful experience with a grilled pork chop (my friend's choice) and the broiled haddock (my choice). Oh my, so good. Everything you want in a restaurant, nice atmosphere, wonderful food, great service and good prices for what you get. While visiting Jamestown, we stumbled upon this restaurant. It's a little old school and could use a little "freshening up" in its decor, but it's lovely nonetheless and has a relaxing, warm atmosphere. For starters, we tried the lovely bisque soup and a stuffed date appetizer. The bisque was one of the best tasting I've had but personal preference always likes it a bit thicker with some noticeable pieces of lobster but I still loved it. The date appetizer was amazing and highly recommended. For dinner, I had the scallops and shrimp over lobster risotto and my husband had the Tenderloin Au Poivre. The tenderloin melted in your mouth. The wine choices were great and one of the few places that made a perfectly "dirty" martini and then there was the desert. I don't even talk about it - just make sure you leave room for desert. All the servers seemed great but we lucked out with Quinn as our server. You never had to look for him and yet he never hovered around or made you feel rushed. On point throughout the entire night. If you're in or near Jamestown, this has got to be on your agenda. read more

I've eaten here twice, and both times I've enjoyed the ambience (yes, it's quiet, as another reviewer complained, but that means you can actually hear the conversation at your table.) The food was good and I loved the salmon piccata with risotto, although my dinner companion was not as happy with the plain pasta accompanying her veal. The second time we ate in the bar area since we weren't sure what we wanted to have and the service was friendly but slow. Our server needed a helper, but then we were late arrivals. The first time, in the restaurant proper, service was everything we could have asked for. Loved the caesar dressing on my regular salad, had a great glass of wine. All in all this is now our go-to restaurant because it's quiet, dependable, and the menu is large and varied enough for almost anybody. Neither dependability nor a place to talk are easy to find in this area, and my fingers are crossed that Landmark is a big success . read more
