We used Landsberg at my last company. The service started off pretty good but when it eventually dwindled, we had no choice but to go elsewhere for our corrugate needs. My new company had a need for a new packaging configuration for one of our products. I thought it would be nice to give Landsberg another chance. I contacted Gilbert (Inside Sales) at the end of December of 2010. It took about a couple weeks for me to convince him to hand me over to the Outside Sales Rep that I had done business with previously, David Rhoads.
David had some good suggestions that would work for us but he had no sense of urgency. Today, almost 2 months after my original inquiry, we still did not have correct samples or pricing. I had no choice but to terminate Landberg's business relationship with us. If it was that difficult trying to get some samples and pricing, I can only imagine how laid back they would be with getting us the actual product when we needed it.
I have a feeling that David disregarded our needs due to volume of product we planned on ordering. I get it, it's sales, you gotta make that money! I think some sales people need to take a moment and look at the big picture. Yeah, we're a small start up company that will only order 50 products a month. But our sales are rapidly growing; that 50 will soon be 5000 and other products could have easily be streamlined to Landsberg if they just would have taken us seriously.
We will be giving our business to a company that wants it. read more
