I had some trouble with my sprinkler system wiring and a couple sprinkler heads needing adjusted. Genaro called early and showed up in a timely manner after I contacted him. He fixed the issues fast and was friendly and very informative and told me how to keep my lawn from dying and getting weeds He made sure all areas of my lawn got wet so the yellowing spots will turn green again. Genaro was super quick to respond and come out to give me a quote. Our front and back yard looked like they came out of a scene from Jumanji and needed a huge cleanup. Once we received our quote, Genaro scheduled his crew to come out shortly after. We were on a time crunch due to a party we were planning and he was able to accommodate us. Once the crew arrived they asked additional questions regarding specific trees and areas of the yard. They went above and beyond doing the cleanup. I cannot recommend Mr. Genaro Solorio or landscapingbayarea.com, based on his disappointing performance in fixing sprinklers and installing sod. There are better landscapers out there who understand the difference between PVC and CPVC, who will think twice about screwing with the water lines to your house, and might actually do the things they write into their contract. I regret choosing him and hope to serve as a warning to others. The PVC endcap he put on a copper pipe broke apart that night and sprayed water with the full force of the water main. Although the contract included removing inches of dirt before laying new sod, no dirt was removed and the new sod is several inches higher now so the sprinklers no longer pop up above the grass. Furthermore, according to Mr. Solorio he both DID remove the dirt AND I told him "it was ok," both untrue and very disappointing to hear. Knowing what I do now about Mr. Solorio's honesty and workmanship I do not trust him and would not hire him again. read more

I can only comment on the fact that Genaro came out about two weeks ago to meet with me and to give me a bid for some work we need done. He seemed nice and knowledgeable. Was hoping to hire him. I messaged him a week later to ask where the bid was. He said he's working on it. About a week later now and still no bid or contact from him. Guess I'll be hiring someone else. read more

Our communication started off really well. They came by and quoted us quickly and we determined they would come every other week. They seemed to be very professional. I was very excited and eager to have them start working when they cancelled the morning of the first day on the job. They apologized and offered to start the following day and come back the following week though we had already settled they would come every other week. I'm not the most prolific of yelp reviewers, but Genaro and team have so moved me to post. We are away when they are working, so it's like a glorious scavenger hunt to track down all the incredible work that they accomplish every other week. Our yard is pretty wild without the traditional things to maintain ie no grass, leaves are find where they are on the ground, very needy plants. Instead we have a medium sized tree that we tragically lost (bad humans) during this summer, and lots of dead wood at challenging heights. I had requested this stuff get slowly chipped away at (pun not intended) during the bimonthly visits, but I expected that this would happen over many months, and probably the dead tree would require a special visit. Wrong: 1 month in and the deadwood that has been out of reach since 2012 is gone. The dead tree is gone, the hard is more lovely than ever! Thank you Genaro and team!! read more

Genaro and his crew are the best gardeners we have had over the years by far at our home in San Carlos. They are consciencious, on time, and regularly go beyond the call of duty. Before he does something extra, he always asks and I am surprised at how little it ends up costing. One of his workers fixed a broken sprinkler - he went to Home Depot to pick up the parts and everything, and it cost surprisingly little. I hired Genaro and his crew to do a whole yard clean-up mid-Spring since I was not able to keep up this year with the weeding and pruning and general maintenance. We have multiple veggie beds, fig, plum, pear, lemon and lime trees, roses, and lots of flowers and herbs. But it was all hidden in knee-high weeds and rampant overgrowth. Genaro's crew did in one day what would have taken me a month of weekends to do. My garden looks neat and tidy and cared-for. His crew was prompt, courteous, very efficient. With all of the gardeners/landscapers out there, it becomes a little overwhelming to find a good person when you need one. Today I needed one to repair a leaky sprinkler. I called Genaro and luckily he happened to be in the area. When he said he could stop by in a few minutes, I was worried that "a few minutes" would turn into an hour or longer, which is something I've experienced before (as we probably all have) with other service providers. But Genaro was true to his word and showed up about five minutes later. He quickly assessed my sprinkler problem and fixed it within a matter of minutes. There was one valve that was not working, but Genaro said it probably wasn't worth fixing because the existing valves were providing ample coverage for my lawn. How's that for honesty? When he could've very easily convinced me to replace the broken valve, he actually cost himself money by being honest. That made me a fan for life, and I will definitely call Genaro for any future sprinkler, tree trimming, and landscaping work. I asked him about his costs for various services, and his rates are extremely reasonable. I will not lose his number!!! You don't run across someone as honest as Genaro very often so I highly recommend him. read more
