The team of 2 men would visit for approximately 30 minutes twice a month, but sometimes much less (today 10 mins). Essentially, they charge over $110 per man per hour - crazy overpriced. I contacted Sergio first on Yelp to schedule a first visit. Responding was slow and when he suggested a few times for the first visit and I replied back, I didn't get any more responses. But then he politely let me know that he was busy with other projects so I scheduled another time after calling his number. He showed up on time, visited the backyard and told me he will send me his estimate for initial cleaning and maintenance via email. I didn't hear back and I followed up once. Very late review but finally remember to write one! Sergio and his team are great and super responsive! I've used their services twice and would want to have a more regular cadence with them. However, we don't have a big yard and just happen to not need gardening every 2 weeks. When we first moved in, it was a mess; all the weeds were super overgrown that it masked all the beautiful succulents and plants. Sergio and his team tirelessly cleaned up both the front yard and the little garden in the path and it was a complete 180. They did such a good job that it maintained itself for another 6 months before we called for their services again. Planning tree removal and trimming for four of our large trees was easy and we scheduled the work for less than one week out and the work was done in less than a day. The service is very pricey, but I wanted to good good service, since my last gardener was $#!t too. Life Gardens started off good, however their service deteriorated to point of useless! They let dead leaves build up around the house and decks, which triggered a bug infestation. I had to get Orkin's out several times to get rid of it! These guys are absolutely fantastic. Sergio, the owner, provided excellent customer service - super polite, patient, friendly, and helpful in figuring out exactly what needed to be done - and his workers did absolutely perfect work. Life Gardens did a wonderful job on our yard! We moved in four years ago. We basically neglected our garden, did not do anything to it and turned all the sprinklers off. Lots of overgrown shrubs, trees, weeds and dead leaves and dead plants everywhere, all on a steep slope. Sergio and his crew cleared, cleaned and pruned and did some small tree removals all in one day, and everything now looks better than I could have imagined. If I offered them coffee or water and they always washed the cups and placed them out of the way on a shelf near the house. It's a little thing, but who washes cups before returning them? When I went looking to hire someone to trim and shape a number of overgrown trees on our property, I learned that many tree-trimming services do not handle palm trees. It's messy, dangerous work, and it's considered a specialty. So I hired a very good tree trimming service to do our non-palm trees, and went looking for another service to handle the palms. Sanchez Home and Garden have been maintaining my front and back yard since May 2013 and I could not be happier with their work. We are very pleased with the way our front yard and backyard look, the workers do not try to cut corners and I feel they treat my back yard the same way they would treat their own. If I have a question or request and send email at night someone usually answers by the next morning, even on weekends, so I do not have play the phone tag game. If they promised to show up at 7:45 in the morning, I can be sure that they will be there. I contacted 3 other landscaping companies and they could not come out to look at my yard for 2-3 weeks. Sergio was able to make it there in couple of days. He explained me what we are going to get, how much it will cost, we settled when they will come and I was very impressed with their work on the first day. They took a great care of front lawn, plants in the front and in the back, even trimmed neighbor's plants overhanging my fence - everything looks very nice. They also detected and fixed a nasty leak in my failing automatic sprinkler system and replaced leaky old valves. On Sergio's advice we converted regular sprinklers to drip and mini sprinklers in flower beds and kids had a great time tinkering with the system. TL;DR version: you may find someone cheaper, but I doubt that you find someone doing better work. This is update to my review couple of months back. They do our regular maintenance of the lawn and garden (just recently seeding the lawn and aerating it) and also help when we need larger projects - tree trimming, tree removal, ivy trimming and removal.
