I'm down 80$ and stuck with a bra that doesn't fit. I'm here to warn you to not take off the tags on anything because they will refuse to process a refund. I had a brand new item never worn or washed (per their return policy) that was refused today. 2 years ago I wrote this review. I couldn't disagree more with how the Tempe location store has changed! To be honest, I absolutely hate going into the store now. I am considering completely deleting my account permanently with Lane Bryant just because I have had such negative experiences at the Tempe Lane Bryant. They hired a new manager Lucy and the entire energy of the store is night and day different. There are no greetings, no smiles, no assistance with anything and heaven forbid do not ask a question or ever interrupt the manager from working on displays or setting up the store. You will annoy her & get "the look" ! Every associate looks so unhappy since the new changes of management took place. I refuse to go to this store ever again and will drive to the other end of town just to avoid shopping in Tempe. I don't care how neat and tidy a store is kept, how perfectly you design your displays. If the customer doesn't get acknowledged and feels the way I do shopping there you have completely lost the entire point of owning and operating a store business. If I was a secret shopper I would give this store a ZERO! Find people that "like people" to manager your stores and it will make an enormous difference. What a difference 2 years can make! Stopped to get my mom a gift for her birthday and it was pretty slow around noon. We were quickly greeted by which seemed like the manager and she nicely informed us about all the sales they were having. My mom had a coupon she wanted to use and so the manager told us we could use it on anything we wanted. We quickly found something nice and so my mom asked for a fitting room. She kindly took us to the back and offered ya her help. Our experience was great. The store was clean and very organized. Thank you! read more

I bought a blazer at full price ($70) but realized I got the wrong size. Brought it in for an even exchange, they didn't have my size so they wouldn't exchange it, even for a different blazer at same value. Their solution was to return it but the blazer was at a discounted price so they could only return for the discounted price ($30). Then of course I didn't have my receipt, so they told me they could only return it for $9. So because they didn't have the same blazer in a different size they thought it was fair for me to lose out on $61! All I want to do is scream and tell them to go F themselves! I officially hate Lane Bryant and their terrible company return policies. They are, as a company, just absolutely terrible to their customers and they think they can get away with it because there isn't a lot of competition in the plus sized fashion world. Times are changing and if they want to stay competitive they better start cleaning up their act. read more

For all of my life, as I remember back to childhood, I have had issues of not being happy with the process of getting clothes. As with, I imagine, all women, I could tell you many many stories of clothing issues and situations that were unhappy. The team of Cindy and Jana at the Lane Bryant at the Tempe Marketplace location is the best best experience I have ever had in a clothing store. I went to that store a long time ago and it was not even something I remember being inside... I just know I was there once. I have not had a lot of luck with Lane Bryants in the past (i.e. a complaint of mine was when they had "Venezia" on items I wanted and as I stated then, "My name is not Venezia!". To this day I have a comfy white sweatshirt that announces to the world that I am Venezia or from Venezia or whatever...) Last week, out of sheer desperation, I went into that Lane Bryant seeking blue jeans. (I had no luck with finding jeans at Catherines (the ones I tried on for my size, literally stink, chemically) and The Avenue in Chandler ("Jeans are out of season now, that's why we don't have many". They had maybe 25 pair TOTAL ). The Avenue suggested that I try Macy's or Ross. I haven't shopped in a dept store for decades, so that was even more daunting since it's over 100 degrees outside and what are the chances that they have my size and shape? I don't want to go from mall to mall for just stupid jeans! I am a t-shirt and jean woman... this should not be hard. SOOOO, I HAD TO go to Lane Bryant. Cindy was the sales associate that first approached me at the Tempe location. She was very helpful, listened to me and showed me the available selections in my size. Her interactions with me were delightful. I tried on various styles and sizes. She also mentioned that Jana (supervisor?) was a similar build, as I had described myself, and she might be of assistance. So, Jana helped me too! She was just as accommodating and caring as Cindy was. After a half hour of trying this and that, I ended up taking notes on my size/fit saying I appreciated their attention and help but I was going to go for now.... not really knowing what I was going to do since they did not have "petite" on hand in the size/style I wanted. So, I went to Lane Bryant again yesterday. I went in and to my very very happy surprise, Cindy and Jana were there to help me again!!!! This time I had such a great time because they were so compassionate, understanding and wanting to help me however I needed with getting my new jeans. I chose to order them, through the website, with Jana's help, at the checkout. I soooo appreciated their kindness, professionalism and understanding that when it comes to sales and service, one needs to connect at whatever level the client is at. They exemplify the best best best. Thank you to the management for allowing that to happen. I really really needed to feel comfortable in that situation and environment. Clothes shopping is mostly stressful for me, and I'm not a picky person... just get me jeans and a t-shirt! Thank you again to Cindy and Jana. read more

I highly suggest hiring people who will actually be helpful to your customers, and not ignored. The store is pricey and I was prepared to drop significant money but I couldn't get anyone to pay attention to me to help me find what I needed. I've been to other locations, where I felt comfortable in the store and with asking staff for help with bras. There was absolutely no way I was going to ask any of those stone cold faced employees to help me with something that intimate. read more

I am not a woman, but my wife is. So this review is for her and our experiences with this store. Their customer service is absolutely superb. Treat my wife with respect and acknowledge her. Say hello or acknowledge me. A lot of places in Phoenix fail to do this and get knocked down several points because of this short coming. Because this place sells quality clothing, it lasts. I rather not give the specific scenario encase it happens again, but lets just say we were taken care of and in hopes that in the future it will never happen again. I was really surprised with the outcome. I don't think this review was setup for the quality of clothes lane Bryant sells, but more for their customer service. If you don't know already lane Bryant sells awesome clothing for tall and plus sized women. It's like the big and tall store for women. I'm almost tempted to say to stay away from the online store and stick with a local store. Every time we buy online, there seems to be a complication. Unsure what you consider Tempe marketplace as far as parking? Street? Private lot I guess would make sense.. read more

Their customer service has much improved so I had to raise them up a star. It is great that you can order online and have it shipped to the store for free. And, as I learned today, if they don't have your size they can also order it in the store and then ship it to your house for free. read more

I have visited this clothing store today to find the perfect bra. It's always a dreaded event and the stress levels always high before I even go to the store. Overall I was pretty happy with my first visit to Lane Bryant. They have a variety of styles for casual, work, athletic and lingerie, and I was very happy that I could find my size in pretty much every item I wanted to try on. The service was decent - not overbearing, but they were able to assist with my questions and were friendly. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Phoenix. read more

Just dropped a small fortune on bras and panties at this location. Yolanda was helpful but seemed to be the only one actually assisting customers. At the time there was another short brown haired woman on staff. I was searching through the racks of bras... which let me tell you, is a mission, they are disorganized and overstocked. Trying to find your size is like searching for a needle in a haystack. I noticed a sign for buy 1 get one 50% off for bras. However it was awkwardly placed and difficult to determine what it was actually referencing. I asked the other woman about the sign and she told me "just the cotton bras down there"... didn't offer to help show me, help find a size, clarify... it was very awkward almost like I was inconveniencing her. Fortunately, I was able to find what I'm looking for. Stores like Lane Bryant are such a motivator to lose weight, as they are so unbelievably over priced. read more

Went back to Lane Bryant to return the dress. It was too big. And, thank God, the staff was much friendlier today. I think from now on, I will go on a weekday evening. The staff was very helpful, although they did talk me into buying $120 worth of more stuff. Oh, well, I feel pretty and isn't that what counts? Worst customer service ever. Not only did I have to ask for a room but the girl who opened it up for me didn't take the pile of product from me so I can shop the shoes in the back, but instead just stood and watched as if I took up her time. I did purchase a really nice evening dress and the other girl checking me out was about to toss the dress in the bag, no folding, nothing. I actually took it from her and folded it so I wouldn't put on a big wrinkled mess later. As a retail manager myself, I would never give such horrible service. I will never shop this location again and the fact their store manager was there as well makes it even worse. read more
