My 3 cats came from Lange Foundation and they are the greatest! I adopted in 2014, 2018, and 2019. Each one was a kitten that was rescued from the local city shelters as "singletons." They made their way into Lange Foundation's care and received the necessary veterinary care. One of my cats had a particularly sharp tooth that was digging into his gums and it needed to be fixed in order to keep him mouth from developing a sore. They made sure he had received the necessary dental work before he was adopted - plus all 3 were neutered, dewormed, given flea meds, and microchipped before adoption. They were lucky enough to have some socialization with other kittens which definitely helped them accept one another as each joined my home. The "kitten room" is a great way for them to learn, socialize, and have fun while they wait for their forever homes. A wonderful rescue overall! read more

It's really sad to hear that shelter animals only get 72 hours to live. Lange has different rooms for kittens and cats. I like that you can walk in and interact with them to see which one you'd like to adopt. Seeing animals in cages breaks my heart. There is also an atrium where a bunch of cats can hang out and chill in the sun. If you love cats and dogs but can't adopt one for some reason, you can volunteer to play with, feed them and walk them. Dogs are kept in the back in a separate area. I'm more of a cat lover and I highly recommend getting a kitty from here. So many of them are just adorable. read more

We just adopted two of the sweetest cats from Lange. It was an easy process: filled out the application, came in to pick out our cats, and came back a few days later to take them home. Lange provided food and toys to get us started. One of our cats is on blood pressure medicine, and when we went to get the prescription refilled it was free because we adopted through Lange. The cats are all in big rooms or enclosures, so it's not a sad experience to visit with them. The volunteers are super nice and take great care of all the animals. read more

You do need to qualify to adopt which I really like. They do not just adopt out their animals without making sure it will be a good fit. All of the animals are well cared for and looked after. This rescue is wonderful. I adopted my kitty in March of 2020 from the St. Bonnie's Sanctuary after losing my 18-year old shelter rescue. I also went to the Lange Foundation West Los Angeles location to meet some of the cats there. Nikki and Marbeth at St. Bonnie's were so understanding and kind, and extremely patient in answering my questions about various cats I had seen on their webpage. I went out to the sanctuary twice before deciding which cat to adopt, and these women could not have been more amazing. First I would like to say that I write this not from a place of anger, but of pure disappointment. Our daughters have wanted a cat for a long time, but we always told them not until they were both old enough to help take care of them. They proved this is so we decided to get them two cats old enough where they were able to play but young enough to grow together. We came to "Lang Foundation" 4 days before Christmas to make this dream come true. We were there for over 3 hrs, playing with all of the cats, and found two amazing kittens to adopt. I filled out the application and was told it would take 1-2 days maximum, as the "Founder needs to review the application and call your landlord". I asked them to please make sure to let us know as we want to make this happen before Christmas. Not only did we never get a call back, but our landlord not was called either. When I called twice they told me they knew nothing and would contact the "founder" and get back to us. I don't see how this organization operates, I thought the whole goal is to put the rescue animals into the hands of loving families no? If you want disappoint yourself and others then go to the Lange foundation. read more

We adopted our little boy Sam (formerly known as Duncan) from the Lange Foundation today and we could not be happier with our pup or with the outstanding experience we had from start to finish in the adoption process. Every employee we worked with at the Lange Foundation was friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable about Sam and his specific needs. We finalized the adoption and got our little baby home! The entire process was really easy....once we knew what dog we wanted to adopt, we filled an application on site. Christina was really nice and called me back in a day saying the board had approved my application.
