This spa receives five stars because if I ever go back to Hawai'i I would go again. The price of some of the treatments are expensive, but i don't regret spending the money on a treat for myself. The ambience is a beautiful mix of natural elements (water features, stone work and wood) and flows well with the resort theme. I suggest arriving earlier than the 60 mins they recommend for your treatment. It was not long enough for me to enjoy the showers, tubs and steam room (bring your swimsuit). Just as I was getting relaxed they called me for my treatment. Sure you can go back, but once i was done with my treatment I didn't want to wash off the body butter. I was comfortable with being naked for my treatment, but to each his own. They provide a comfortable robe that is so soft and cozy, to walk around the facility in. I received the KiliKili treatment. The treatment consisted of a exfoliation and massage under warm rain water (front and back). I will get the exact same treatment if I ever find myself in Hawai'i. After the treatment you are brought back to the relaxation room and I was brought hot tea. I grabbed my book and relaxed while drinking my tea. No one was in a hurry to kick me out, so I stayed for about 45 mins just relaxing. So, if you are planning a trip book your Laniwai spa experience now! You deserve to spoil yourself! read more

Stayed at Aulani a few days ago and just enjoyed it! The resort is so welcoming and maintains a South Pacific Islands theme. Once in a while you may see Mikey Mouse or Donald Duck walking around in their Aloha wear. But, you cannot stop them to take a quick photo as they're always on a mission. The hotel room was so nice! We stayed in the Ewa Tower with a view from our lanai of the Luau garden and the lagoon and ocean. After playing in the lazy river in the afternoon, we walked across the street to the ABC Store and got our food for dinner and enjoyed in our room. Today, we returned to Aulani to enjoy the Lani Vai Spa and Garden. Wow!!! So wonderful to enjoy the different showers and jetted warm and cool water spas before the massage. As you enjoy an hour prior to your massage, you just relax and prepare your body with relaxation. Then, someone comes to get you so that you can prepare for your massage. You wear your comfy brown robe and wait for your massage therapist to call you and escorts uiu to your room. Afterwards, you can enjoy water, juice and snacks to get hydrated and refreshed. For review 600, I thought i would review a special place such as Laniwai spa. My family and very close friends traveled to Honolulu this past October and stayed at Aulani for a couple of days. For one of the mornings, we decided to do a girls day at the spa. It was amazing and it was nice to get a morning all to ourselves sans kiddos. Laniwai is a tranquil getaway and I love the many amenities they have. Once we checked in, our group of girls was offered tea and water. A spa representative then picked up our group for a tour. She had us select a stone which we would throw back in a small pond of water at the entrance to our spa experience. I selected "dream" which was great and perfect for the trip. I made a wish when I dropped my stone in the little pond. We were then given a tour of the spa which was great. I have been to over a hundred or so spas and this ranks pretty high up there. They had nice amenities which included a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, out door shower etc. You are also given the option of making your own scrub for you to take home. When we visited, they had 4 different scents. I ended up choosing the "Maile" scent. They provide you with slippers and robes after the end of your tour. You can opt to wait in their relaxation room or in their outdoor area and your therapist will find you. They had a great selection of snacks in the relaxation room. We arrived about half an hour prior to our appointment since we booked an early morning appointment so we decided to use the amenities after our services. My massage was great and she was so great to talk to. After our services, the girls and I hung out in the spa and used their steam room, sauna etc. I can definitely stay here all day but we had to get back to our families and spend the rest of the afternoon with them. The absolute most fabulous experience I have ever had in a spa! I booked a couples massage for my husband and me. It was only a 1 hour massage, but we were able to experience the spa as if we had a full day package. From welcoming to finish, the entire day was incredible. Everything you could possible need was provided. From a variety of hydrating water, snacks, robes, slippers/sandals, hair and grooming accessories, even q-tips! You are encouraged to arrive early, at least an hour early, to explore the entire botanical garden. Filled with a variety of temperature spa tubs, lounge chairs, and my personal favorite, the 8 different shower heads. From high pressure or low pressure but all warm water, it is so relaxing and refreshing. Then the actual appointment you had been waiting for, the massage. Phenomenal! The bed is heated and adjusts mechanically so you are always in a comfortable position. Everything was fantastic. Got a Brazilian and underarm wax. First wax EVER. Beatriz made me feel so comfortable. It was inevitably awkward, but all of my anxiety soon eased because she was truly professional and made the perfect amount of small talk. I was pleased with how she wanted to make sure I was perfectly content with the results before she ended the wax. Nobody wants to be handed a mirror and reminded of when they were 13... "Take a look at yourself... You're becoming a woman..." But it was necessary and she somehow made it all a breeze. Because this was my first wax, I had a few hairs that were too short to have been pulled. She went further to explain how often I should continue waxing and how to get the best result. The second service we paid for was a birthday Minnie Mouse makeover for our three-year-old. What a perfect gift and experience it was. Pascal did an amazing job with our little girl who usually gets very anxious around men. They include gratuity in your final bill at 20%. I understand and was completely OK with this. The massage was amazing but I think I enjoyed lounging and relaxing in the kula wai and locker areas just as much, if not more. We spent at least 6 hours here and I honestly could have stayed much longer but we went off in search of food since we didnt want to pay for lunch there. The lunch menu items are limited and although they look decent, they just weren't calling to us. The prices overall are comparable to other higher end spas and the service, amenities and experience were above and beyond at laniwai. I do recommend showing up at least 1.5 hours early and staying as long as you want after the service. read more

One of the best spas I've ever been to. It was my boyfriends first professional spa experience and I was so happy they had so many co-ed amenities. They have you pay when you first get there, which is nice so you don't have to think about it when you leave , and they validate parking for 4 hours. From the moment we walked in everyone that worked there was so welcoming. We walked down the hallway and each picked a stone out of a basket, mine was "listen" and my boyfriend got "strength' . We were told to focus on this word all day during our treatments and to make a wish as we put our stones back into the pond. We were then escorted to our respective locker rooms and were giving a tour. The amenities were amazing. Woman's steam room and sauna and rest room and shower and vanity with all the products you would need. I even got complimentary body scrub in mango and plumeria scents. And then I was escorted to the outdoor hydrotherapy garden..... AMAZING!!! It wss like being transported into a relaxing spa jungle. Rest area with cozy lounger chairs, blankets, flavored water and snacks . Two Vitality pools, coold plunge pool, jacuzzi, reflexology pathway and a bunch of different outdoor showers that had different streams a pressures . We spent about an hour using the amenities and then we had our treatments. We got the couples Honihoni "Sealed with a Kiss" Duet 50min massage. It was wonderful. I have gotten a lot of massages and I've never had such a cool bed, the therapist moved the bed up and down into different positions for get the best angle for the massage. At the end we were rubbed down with body butter kisses , my scent was plumeria, my boy friend get mango. After our massages we spent another almost 2 hours using the amenities, relaxing and having little snacks and drinks. I definitely want to come back every time I'm in Hawaii. read more

This is my go to place on the island when I just want to Relax. I've been here about 4-5 times and I just love the ambiance and the service. I've only gotten their massages so I can't comment on their other services. The reason I love this place so much is the perks that you get in addition to the service you purchase. For the massages they have you check in about 40 min prior just to make sure everything is in order and so they can give you a tour of the place AND so you can start enjoying the amenities. Once you check in you're greeted by friendly faces. You wait in the waiting area until they call you. Once you get called they have you pick a stone with a word on it. On one side it has the English word and on the other side it's the Hawaiian translation. The stone you pick is what you're going to focus on for the day. For example one of my visits I got Listen. When I got that my husband was LOLing. They walk you down this hallway that has water streaming down the walls (very calming sound) until you get to this tranquil circle of water that has water trickling down from the ceiling. It's here that you return your stone to join the others, teaching you that what we take from the land we must give back. But of course before you throw it in, you make a wish! I've done this multiple times but I still enjoy doing it! hahaha. There are separate bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, changing stations, steam rooms, and sanas for men and women. The relaxation room and the outdoor amenities are coed. In your locker you will find a glorious robe that you can use while you are there as well as slippers or for you mainlanders...flip flops. Make sure to bring or wear your bathing suite so you can use the laniwai healing showers, baths and jacuzzi. For the lockers you just input a 4 digit code to lock and unlock so you don't have to worry about carrying around a key. The showers have shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and there's a vanity area that has q-tips, cotton balls, hair spray and deodorant along with hair brushes and hair dryers so you can just get ready there if you have to go somewhere afterwards. Next to the steam room and the sauna they have chilled towels and water so you can make sure to stay cool and hydrated. When I go into either room I'm usually alone or there's 2-3 people in there with me. The relaxation room usually has fresh fruits like apples and bananas as well as mini muffins with a macaroon on top and/or cookies. They always have water infused with fruits. This past visit they had Pure hydration (Pineapple coconut water) and Wellness (cranberry & elderberry) infused refreshments. I enjoyed both but liked the taste of the Wellness water better. The outdoor amenities include a jacuzzi, ice bath, different showers with different strengths (for example one feels like you're under a water fall and another has jet streams that come from both sides), a warm bath and a cold bath. There are bungalows that you can just sit and relax under. TMy husband usually meet in the relaxation room then go to the outdoor area together. The massages I've gotten from Aulani are usually great and I feel so relaxed afterwards. I did have one massage (this past one) where I felt that my masseuse wasn't giving enough pressure (even after I asked for heavier pressure). If I go with my husband we do the couples massage and those rooms usually have a private bathroom that you can use. They use a body butter and they have three scents you can chose from. I believe they are pikake, maile and mango. Before you go they give you a cute bag of bath salts that you can use to relax when you're home and they also give you a body scrub. You can use the amenities before and after your service and you can stay there until they close but once you leave you can't go back in. It's pricey but I love this place! This was probably the most luxurious spa I have ever been to. My husband and I booked a couples massage here because he wanted to see the Disney hotel. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I didn't see one child during my time at the spa and it was AWESOME. They encourage you to come early because they have this incredible outdoor spa that you are free to use all day. Reflexology paths, hot tub, cold tub, showers, lounge chairs, cabanas etc. We definitely got our monies worth! The massage was wonderful. The technicians were very sweet in explaining how the treatment would go. The room was spotless and beautiful. Very relaxing. I'm relaxed just thinking about it! Best spa on the island...easily! My mom and two sister in laws and I went as mother's day present. Disney did not skimp. It was all in the details. They took us of a tour of all the amenities. We took a dip in the jacuzzi, drank 4 flavors of infused water, and ate zucchini muffins before they came and found us for our massage. We chose a pikake or maile sugar scrub to take home. We got 50 min signature Lomi lomi massages. The massage was $205 after tax and tip, which is included. It's so worth it to get the signature Lomi lomi over the regular. It was the best massage I've ever had! The hot stones were AMAZING. They hold the stones in their hands and rub them firmly in a smooth motion. I want hot stones in all my massages! The table was heated and it adjusted to make me more comfortable. Robes were super soft. They give you comfy spa slippers. The massage rooms were really really nice. You can sample and choosewhich scented lotion you want. You can even choose which music you want! I chose Hawaiian to feel like I was on vacation. The massage was divine and the therapist was great. I wish we had come 1.5 or 2 hours earlier to enjoy the amenities. After the massage we went in the eucalyptus steam room, out to the reflexology foot path, got more infused tea, then enjoyed the various automatic outdoor showers! Then I jumped in the ice bath (invigorating!) Then into the hot tub. There was also a sauna but we had to get going to lunch at Ama Ama. We took showers, and they had lotionsand brushed and deodorant. There's even a machine that quick dries your swimsuit! They also gave us bath salt to take home. All in all, super impressed. Wow. I would give this spa 10 stars is I could. My family and I went to Aulani mid January and I surprised them with the signature Lomi Lomi massage. We were showed outside and immediately got changed to go to the outside pools. The only downside was that there was construction being done next door so that was a little annoying but we still enjoyed our time. My brother met my mom and I outside and we enjoyed the different "rain" inspired showers. When we were called for our massage we were sent with different people. My brother had a massage with a male masseuse which was cool. He felt comfortable with them. Overall this was one of the best experiences we've ever had. This place is amazing. I've been coming since the Aulani first opened. The facilities, to be honest, vary in quality. Sometimes they're clean and flawless, sometimes there are leaves all over the floor of the steam room. If you prefer cleaner facilities, aim for the earliest appointments, but it seems there are less people closer to closing time. The downside of being closer to closing time is that the facilities are a little messier and they stop putting out those amazing muffins with half a macaroon on top. Those are so tasty. Definitely go early so you can enjoy the hydro garden. The different showers are a blast and the hot tubs are delightful. I love that you have the option to have a still hot tub or get the bubbling jacuzzi. The still hot tubs also have two pools with one being a little hotter than the other. While the massage may seem stupid expensive, and it really is, the facilities and quality of the massage make it 100% worth it. I just had the best massage of my life here. On top of an excellent massage I got to play in the showers, lounge in a hot tub, kick back in the relaxation room, and indulge in the steam room and sauna. I've gone to the Ihilani as well. Although the massages there are also great, the facilities simply don't compare and the massage is more expensive. I highly recommend Maka, she's amazing. Great pressure, great method. I feel like I've had all of my worries rubbed away. Half way through the massage I could just feel this peaceful little smile stealing across my face and it lasted well into the night. I Looooooove this place! Even though I live not too far from Aulani, I finally had the chance to go to Laniwai for our anniversary and it was amazing. We booked the Pili Aloha package later in the afternoon so we could enjoy all of what Laniwai had to offer. We enjoyed lounging around in the each hot tub, they all had different temperatures. My husband even enjoyed doing the cold plunge (I chickened out after sticking my foot in and realizing how cold it was.) We tried each different water pressure at the showers, spent some time in the eucalyptus steam room, and lounged around in the co-ed relaxation room where we drank their pineapple infused water, coconut water, and blueberry infused white tea. My husband even fell asleep for a bit because it was so relaxing. Our Pili Aloha package included a facial, a body scrub, and a massage. We did the facial first, usually it's done last, but there were some scheduling conflicts. I enjoyed the lady who did mine. She was very thorough and gentle. Then came the body scrub and massage. The body scrub was nice, my husband didnt enjoy it so much "cause it hurt." Lol. They had us enter the shower in the private massage room to rinse off. The bathroom is huge btw! After rinsing we started our massage. It was really relaxing and I was sad when it ended. I'll definitely be back again! read more

Do you have children? No? Strapped on cash, yes? Then don't bother going to Aulani. Spend the day at Laniwai because that is exactly where you will enjoy yourself most at Aulani. On the first floor of the waianae side of the property, Laniwai is not just a day spa. It is an experience on the island. Arrive at least an hour early for your treatment with swimsuit in tow. An employee will have you pick an intention rock while providing your pineapple water. As they explain the point of letting go as you walk down the dimly lit hallway, you reach a pond where you can return your intention back to the earth. They then will give you a tour of the facilities. Each gender has its own locker room with showers, sauna, steam room, and relaxation room. The Steam room has always been a little too intense for me. The eucalyptus was overwhelming. Next to the steam room there is iced tea and rose water towels to keep you cool. The female only relaxation room has ergonomic loungers, overhead lighting for reading, water, muffins and fruit. I've heard the men's side has a TV in it. The co-ed area includes Kula Wai, the water garden. They have soaking pools. I forgot what the cooler one did, but the warmer one has eucalyptus to soothe sore muscles. Their signature offer is their motion sensored showers, which I can best describe as a human car wash. They have reflexology paths, hot tubs and cold plunges as well. If you are there with your significant other, there is also a co-ed relaxation room with chocolate, nuts, and pretzels as well. With all the crazines going on outside in Aulani, I'd much rather be in the quiet environment of Laniwai. You can even order food and drinks here! The treatment itself was average. There is nothing really to note about it except you have an option of what scent lotion you'd like them to use on you. After your treatment, enjoy a nice shower and prepare yourself for the day with the hair and shower products they provide. Lastly, dry off your swimsuit before you stash it back in your bag with their spin dryer. They have a separate salon and a gift shop if you'd like to take anything home. We haven't yet, but we've thought about it. You are provided a sugar scrub and bathing salts that represent your intention you picked at the beginning of the experience. The sugar scrub is based on your choice of scent again. There is nothing better than a day spa who gets it right. Here take my money! I want to go back! read more

Probably one of the better spa experiences I've had. (I'll spare the deets on the tour of the place bc it's probably something that should be experienced first-hand.) LOMILOMI I made an appointment for a 50 minute lomilomi massage, which incorporates medium to firm pressure, rubbing, kneading and pressing. Having recently had foot surgery, my foot (scar) was tender. My massage therapist paid special attention to my bodily needs, worked out some of the scar tissue in my foot, and gave me pointers (re: my foot) at the end of the massage. I will definitely be back for another massage. KULA WAI One of my favorite things about the Kula Wai Garden was the reflexology path. It's nothing extravagant or anything, I just thought it was pretty neat. I walked back and forth numerous times bc it felt so good on my feet! Next time I'll definitely take full advantage of ALL the facilities, especially the hydrotherapy tubs and rain showers. VERDICT Overall, my experience was excellent! Being short on time, I made a desperate call to Laniwai for eyebrow waxing. Now I bet you're thinking, "why on earth would you spend $$$ for an eyebrow wax at a resort spa?!" Again, short on time, and my regular gal in town was booked for the week and I was all the way in Kapolei! Appointment booking was a breeze, just called the Aulani number then was transferred to a friendly cast member at the spa. If you've never been to the Disney Aulani, make sure you have time to explore and find your way around! It is a huge hotel with many corridors and passages that lead to unfamiliar places. I was lucky enough to locate some cast members who were nice enough to escort me to Laniwai. Upon entering, the luxurious, relaxing ambiance is obvious. With high ceilings and smooth decor, it was refreshing to be there. Pay before you have your service done! $23 for the wax, plus taxes and tip. It seemed weird to give my tip to the cashier at the front instead of my waxer, but I trust they actually get the cash. With purchase of any service, they have a bunch of amazing amenities to help you relax, steam room, sauna room to name the usuals. Waxing: I forgot my waxer's name, but she was a doll! Mother of 2 from Kaneohe. Her level of small talk was perfect, its like she was readying my mood and mind. She was also a little confused at why I was getting an eyebrow waxing at this spa, but understood once I explained. Finished brows were amazing! Im glad I chose to spend the moolah to get my brows cleaned up here. I appreciated that even with a cheaper service, my attendant was very accomodating and made sure she knew how I wanted my brows shaped. Next time, real spa day! Their amenities looked sooooo nice! I've been coming to this spa since it opened. Over time, the amenities offered have declined (no razors, hair bands, offer for hot tea trio, hot eye/neck pillow during wait). If you're waiting for or relaxing after a treatment, don't be surprised if several cast members approach you to ask your name/time of treatment a few times within an hour. The services offered being described as "GREAT!" to "Uhhh, average??" all depend on the practitioners. I will never book a massage unless is it with Derrick and will only book facials with Julie. It's not that other practitioners aren't good, but they are my favorites and make it worth the money. Derrick and Julie-FIVE STARS!!! Some cast members have stayed with the spa since its opening and are always very friendly and go out of there way to make you feel at home. The spa gets so busy over the summer, so my preference is to go during the winter...less hectic all the way around. Overall, this is a good spa, but I have noticed a decline in amenities offered over time. I hope that trend doesn't continue. read more

Knocking it down a star-- I was able to return to Laniwai this year and was disappointed when I found out they've scaled down the amenities. Not that it's a terrible thing... the service is still pretty great, but they've removed a lot of what made Laniwai a high-class spa experience in the first place! No more razors, shaving cream, offer for a tea trio, etc. The two separate aromatherapy tubs are now just regular soaking hot tubs (presumably because of the chlorine they must use that must kill the scented oils.) In any case, the massages were great and they do ask you what gender masseuse you want, which is nice. I got a great massage from my female therapist, and my mom seemed to have a nice massage (and a nice soak in the hot tubs.) My mom enjoyed the services and slept it off after, but I was disappointed that the quality deteriorated from before. read more

I decided to treat my bridesmaids and mom to a spa day at Laniwai the day before I got married. Since I was getting married at the Aulani, the Laniwai seemed like a perfect choice before the big day. We were supposed to be there at least an hour before our massage appointment time, but we were running late from wedding errands. So we got there only 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment. (I suggest you arrive at least an hour before your appointment time so they can take you around the spa and explain in detail the amenities. I wish we had more time because we were rushed through it.) When we got there, we were greeted by a staff member and they gave us a little gift. I won't tell you so you can experience it for yourself! The massage itself was amazing. My body felt incredible right after! I had the 50 minute lomi lomi massage, which was the cheapest at $150. After we were all finished with our massages, we went outside to the spa jacuzzi area. There were a few jacuzzis, including one that had green seaweed water in it and another one that had blue spa water in it (good for muscle relaxation). There was also an outdoor shower which had several different types of water that streamed from the faucets and at different temperatures. Some were warm water, some were cold, some were hot. It was awesome going to the different water "stations" and feeling the variety of water temps and pressures! There is also a waiting/relaxation room. There was yummy spa water, delicious zucchini & carrot muffins, candied fruits, and gummy bears. I've been to the Ihilani spa before, but this was definitely a better experience! Laniwai is the only spa to have outdoor pools/jacuzzis. It is simply beautiful being outdoors while enjoying the gorgeous scenery and weather. I will definitely be going back to enjoy the spa again...and I'll probably take my husband with me to enjoy it too since he missed out the first time! read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because all my treatments were AMAZING. My husband and I got the "love story for two" which was 80 minutes of a body scrub and lomi limi massage finished off with applying a choice of body butter. My husband then retreated to the relaxing room and I headed off for a wonderful facial enhanced with an ultrasonic exfoliation. After your treatment you're treated with a guava gum-drop-jelly treat that's delicious. They are made there and unfortunately aren't for sale. Everyone is extremely friendly. The grounds are beautiful (have been lucky enough to experience even better). It's not cheap, but if you can swing it, indulge! Both hubby and I slept well that night. read more

I haven't had a proper massage since 2008 and finally splurged for a relaxation day to celebrate a friend's birthday. I've heard so many great things about Laniwai, but for the first time in a while, my expectations were profoundly exceeded. My massage therapist was excellent. He understood the human anatomy better than any physical therapist or doctor I've seen in my lifetime. Throughout the session, he offered helpful suggestions and answered all of my questions on how to be less of an intense stressball. It was the most rejuvenating experience. I felt like a new person after my massage. The only downfall is that I'll never be able to go anywhere else. All future Hawaii-based massage sessions will be scheduled at Laniwai. While the prices are steep, it was well-worth the investment. I felt as if I had spent a week away on holiday. Disney has a beautiful reputation of ensuring their guests feel special. Every detail is well-thought and I really enjoyed all of the amenities. In addition to the amazing lomilomi, my friend and I were invited to spend the rest of the afternoon in their spa area. We got to experience a variety of shower pressures, hot tubs, steam room (which turned out to be a little scary--bring in a chilled rosewater towel!) and sauna. Overall, it was a truly beautiful experience. I left refreshed and happy that my friend had a great start to her birthday. I still keep the maile-scented bath salts in my desk draw whenever I want to reminisce. I can't wait to go back! read more

As many reviews have already highlighted, this place is unique experience. Go if you have the ability to splurge on yourself, but there are better options out there (I just haven't been able to afford it yet to find out.) So why isn't this place 5 stars..? The Disney facade has scripted hospitality. At least they're consistent about it the entire day.. The water circuit was out of service during the morning. Their facilities need small upgrades..for example my shower faucet kept going back to cool because the handle was loose. The dining menu is operated by the hotel, separate from the spa. You'll need to use the service phone to place an order and food is ready by 45 minutes. Once they deliver the order you have to pay by credit card if you're not Aulani guest, so you'll have to head back into the lockers to fetch your card. Then they have to go back to the kitchen to scan your card and have you sign the receipt. FYI it's a $4 delivery fee and 20% gratuity included. I accidentally tipped again with cash. They didn't even say anything to me. (I also waited forever for them to return my card because their "system was down". FYI the kitchen does not serve beverages. So ordered their smoothie through the spa, which took longer than the kitchen because they "didn't know where the lids were." You have to do so much research to figure out what type of service is the one you want. Just call them and ask a bunch of questions. But like other reviews it's confusing and can sound inconsistent because they are similar. Snacks are unpeeled whole fruits. Not practical at all. Most accessible water is plain, the other spa waters were weak, the tastiest is all the way out in the lobby. I don't think my therapist used lomi sticks, just her hands. read more

Let me tell you "freshwater heaven" or Laniwai totally lives up to it's name. It's like paying to enjoy a little bit of heaven and worth every dollar. My bestie is getting married and because she loves Disney we decided to do a day at Aulani. We started with a character breakfast at the Makahiki and then headed straight to the spa. If it wasn't so expensive I would do it once a month. that's how much I enjoyed it. It is recommended that you arrive one hour prior to your appointment and to bring your swim suit. Follow those two instructions. We look a long time at breakfast so we didn't have as much time before our appointment. It worked out ok because they allow you to still enjoy the hydrotherapy garden (like a garden of Eden!) after your appointment. :) major + They take you on a tour of the spa and show you around. I didn't read too many reviews because I wanted to experience first hand and you really should. It's pretty neat even for a local. I love the outdoor jacuzzis set at a perfect 74 degrees. They also have a 50 degree mini pool, and about 6 different showers that are so neat. They have two saunas (hot!). They also have several relaxing rooms (Female, Male, Co-ed). I chose the 50 minute lomilomi and it was so nice. This was my first spa and massage so I wasn't sure what to expect. My massage therapist was so nice and so good. She came to get me from the relaxing room and took me to the massage room. It was private with a heated table. :) She allowed me to pick which scent of massage lotion and the music to be played. It's a nice way to get away. It's definitely a must if you're staying at Aulani or just need a day to your self. FYI: 20% tip is added on. Tip: There's no real big sign so be on the look out for the entrance. Self parking is just as you enter. +Parking validations: Makahiki provides four free hours of validation. Enjoy, Eat and Beach! Holy moly. This place is A. MAZING. I had an entire spa day today. An 80 min hot rock massage, an 80 min organic facial, eyebrow waxing, and a classic pedicure. All of it, ALL OF IT, was SUBLIME. Fan-bloody-tastic. It's clean. It's quiet. The staff is amazing. The facilities are top of the line. The robes are the best I've ever had in a spa. The snacks and tea? DELICIOUS. My massage was the best I've ever had. Hands down. She was sweet as can be, didn't mind that I talked her ear off, and truly was an artisan of her craft. I've had massages all over the world and this one was it. I'm hooked. I'm going back next month. Totally blown away. The facial was wonderful. I nearly fell asleep. She was also the one do did my eyebrows. Such attention to detail!! Amazing. Again, best I've ever had. My skin is like a baby's butt. And my eyebrows look great too! Ok, confession: I've never had a pedicure. I know, I know. I'm a freak. But I was an athlete and a military girl and my feet are pretty jacked up. Plus a nice case of jungle rot in Iraq? Yeah. You get the picture. It was great though!! Aaaaaand I'm hooked. Plus they don't use razor blades! Bonus points! The steam room and relaxation rooms are wonderful. Totally spotless. I never even saw a towel out of place. It was pretty busy in there so it got a little crowded, but a sweet gal working there told me they're working on that; they're thinking of ways to expand to make more space. Just for comparison I did a similar day at the neighbor resort, the JW Marriott a few years ago. Disney blew them so out of the park they're not even visible anymore. I'll never go back there. Ever. If Disney is a 10, JW Marriott is a 3. Disney, you've outdone yourself. I didn't even know that was possible! I'm hooked. And totally, completely, endlessly impressed. Is it pricey? Yes.
