    Cream cheese wonton
    Jenn D.

Great food portions! Great flavor. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and nice! The only thing was the food was only lighly warm bordering on room temperature. I can reheat it once home but I did eat it there but left with a lot of left overs as they give big portions. The cream cheese wonton were also very good and the house made sauce was delicious

Hit the spot!! I was craving some tofu and decided to order from Lantern Garden. I ordered the country style tofu, and a couple other meals for the week. I got the shrimp fried rice, country style tofu, and kung pao shrimp. I skipped the appetizers and just went with entrees. The country style tofu was good. I love the firm tofu! Yummy. I enjoyed the shrimp fried rice too. That was really good and the shrimps in that were cooked perfectly. The kung pao shrimp definitely had some heat to it, but it was still good. Overall, all 4 of the entrees I ordered came out good. I love that they have a happy hour special on door dash!

I could have sworn I already did a review of this place, since I am such a huge fan. The food here is delicious. The broccoli beef is some of the best I've had. I also love the orange chicken and green bean chicken. The fried rice is tasty and also the chow mein. The egg rolls are fresh and crunchy. The won ton soup is also great. Service is always wonderful. The ambiance is simple and casual. There are a few tables, but it's more of a take out spot. One box of food can feed two people or be 2 meals.

I was craving chow mein and orange chicken and wanted to try something different than the chain restaurants. Unfortunately Lantern Garden fell short of my expectations for the quality of their food. Their chow mein noodles were oily and didn't have a ton of veggies in them. The chicken, both orange and mushroom, had several gnarly pieces that made you question whether or not to continue eating them.. overall was not for me. Pros: portion size and friendliness of the staff

    Korin T.

Relatively cheap for the area, the staff is nice and the portions are massive for what you pay! Really good authentic food as well. Unfortunately there are no free refills but that doesn't take away from the experience

Delivery order seemed to hold up well. Portions very large. Good price for quality and size.

Parking was easy, no wait to be seated on a Thursday evening and service was prompt and also checked up on us throughout the meal. Szechuan eggplant - so yum, arrived piping hot, it was coated in a super thin breading first before being fried and then coated in the Szechuan sauce. Slightly spicy, tangy and sweet, the classic Szechuan eggplant. Fish with veggies - loved how light but flavorful this dish was. Tender fish filet with garlic and a bunch of veggies, doesn't look very flavorful but it was very good! Would get again as a lighter dish compared to the others. Garlic pork - 魚香肉絲 this is typically my favorite dish in Chinese restaurants and saw it titled similarly in the menu but realized it's not cut into 絲 and it included celery, which the dish typically does not include. Not complaining though, the flavor was still great and I loved the dish, just different than what I expected. Sesame chicken - similar to orange chicken but without the orange flavor. Came piping hot and had good pieces of chicken within the breading. Sweet and sour, liked the flavor alot. The dishes came with rice! Would totally come back again to try the other dishes. Happy to find a local spot where I can get Chinese food as there are not too many options around here.

We haven't been year for years so we ended up ordering more than what 3 adults and 2 kids could handle. The price point per dish was fair for the portion size you receive. We used it to dip our green onion pie. Tasted like an Asian version of "consume" that normally comes with your birria tacos. Also, the green onion lamb. Delicious lamb meat well paired with a ton of green onions. *don't forget your gum or oral hygiene before going on a hot date. I'm wheelchair bound and it makes it awkward to get around at times, I was thinking I'd see if they had outdoor seating. Kevin was so observant of my presence in the restraunt and had a chair pulled out for me at a table when I came out. I was so touched that he noticed me come in and was ready to seat me. It made me feel welcome, and I decided I didn't want to eat outside anymore. I was there with my dad. Kevin helped give us good recommendations since it was our first time ordering. He smiled and was so friendly to us. The food was good, but the service was outstanding! Kevin made sure our jasmine tea had fresh refills at appropriate moments. He didn't hover, but he was sensitive to the right times to check in. We received really good service because of him. Makes me want to bring friends back here for lunch or dinner. Everything we ordered was good, but I personally recommend the Sautéed Fish Fillet with veggies! Very tasty!

I ordered the black pepper beef ($14.95), which also came with fried rice, hot and sour soup, a vegetable egg roll, and a chicken wonton. The beef slices were tender and thin with juices remaining in the meat. However, the dish overall seemed a little too oily for my palate. The fried rice was good and didn't have an overpowering flavor. The side dishes accompanying the weekend special were adequate. However, the vegetable egg roll was oily, and I had to wipe my fingers each time I picked it up. The little chicken wonton was wrapped in a greasy aluminum foil that wasn't very pleasant to open. I found the hot and sour soup adequate, but I've eaten better elsewhere. Despite some minor disfavors with the food, the weekend special is still cost effective, allowing you to get a big lunch for under $15. There wasn't a wait, and we got immediately seated. We got our food relatively quickly, and our server came back to ask if I needed more water. The ambience is relaxed and quiet with peaceful piano music in the background. Bathrooms are toward the back, and parts of the walls and plumbing inside looked dirty and stained.

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?
