Dinner at Lapeer was delicious! As a vegetarian, I found the perfect warm, cozy dish -- and ended the night with the BEST espresso martini. Pro tip: always ask... they sometimes run out!

    Grand Style Plateux. Caviar slider.

4.5/5 (Yelp doesn't allow half stars) Great experience overall. The seafood platter had oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab salad, salmon crudo, and stone crab. Everything was extremely fresh. The stone crab claws were in a mayo based sauce that was delicious. Only complaint was that the crab salad had too much red onion in it. I love onion, and even this was too much. It took away from the crab taste. The salmon crudo needed a touch of salt. When I scooped it on one of the salted homemade crackers for the oysters, it was much better. The rest of the plateux was good. I enjoyed the caviar slider, but I tasted more of bacon than the caviar. My skirt steak au poivre was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and delicious. My wife's burger was tasty and we both loved the dipping sauces adjoining the side of fries. The steak jus and aioli combination was tough to beat. Cocktails were tasty and service at the bar was strong.

I took an out of town friend here, and we had a great dinner. I liked the decor in there, and it throws off a coastal vibe. It's upscale, but also feels laid back. The drinks were innovative, and I like that they are often updating their original drink list. The honey bread with butter was a tasty table bread. We both started with wedge salads. They weren't as huge as a typical steakhouse wedge, but still very good. I had the salmon with shrimp entree, and my friend had the small filet. We shared the au gratin potatoes. Everything was really good, and we were both happy with our picks. I ended with the coffee toffee budino, which was huge and very good. Service was top notch. The meal wasn't cheap, but it's an ideal place for a nice dinner out.

    Anniversary dinner!

Excellent service and the ambience is vibrant with a gorgeous bar with delish craft cocktails, beer and wine. The food is phenomenal with excellent presentation and the seafood is fresh. If you come at opening and catch daylight in the solarium type room you'll experience a quieter meal with a Scandinavian vibe-bright and airy. My favorite restaurant for all our celebrations!

The food was delicious. We got the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly. Could not say anything negative about any of the sides either. Our waitress Jules was great. She answered anything we had questions about and made sure we had everything we needed. The space was beautiful and unique for Alpharetta.

Made a reservation for Mother's Day. I enjoyed my experience. The menu was pre-set with 4 courses. The portions aren't big but because of the way they spread them out, you will get full due to your food settling between every course. I'd dine here again. Great food, great experience, cool vibe.

Food was great. I had the ribeye, crispy broccolini and my wife had the filet. Everything tasted great. Service was good. The only problem was the atmosphere. Hard backcracker wicker chairs and cramped tables were uncomfortable and claustrophobic. This is a high price point restaurant- I expected a lot more in terms of comfort. We finished off with the billionaire sundae which tasted good but didn't have much brownie in it. Appetizer selection left a lot to be desired

The food was excellent! The service was a 10. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a wonderful meal and time ! First the bread was delicious !!! Appetizers we shared calamari and shrimp cocktail. Main meal some had the trout, the salmon and scallops all were great! Dessert we shared the 10 layer chocolate cake which was very moist and yummy! I would give this restaurant a 10!

This place is definitely for a nice romantic dine in experience . My fav thing here was the fresh oysters . The shrimp toast is nice but definitely not heart healthy . I would suggest lesser butter on toast cauz the shrimp is soo good that the bread doesn't need much . I also love the wine selection and service is definitely good . The place is a big tight if you sit on table for 2.

Food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. This place has the best beef tartare!!! The seafood scampi was a little flavorless but everything else on the menu was really good. I do not remember how many cocktails we ordered but they even made some special ones not on the menu that were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was amazing too. Probably one of the best waitresses I have ever had dining at a restaurant. The fig cocktail is pretty amazing. Love this place!!

That didn't take away from the overall experience though. The elk carpaccio was amazing! Our Caesar salad was good but just a standard Caesar, we could've done without it to make room for all the other yummy things! We ended up getting the steak dinner for two which included A5 Wagyu, filet and spinalis. The wagyu was melt in your mouth! Outside the Wagyu, I preferred the filet and my husband preferred the spinalis. The restaurant is a typical upscale steakhouse vibe. Very classy place with good mood lighting and casual music. The bar area was also really nice. It's located in a shopping center so not somewhere you would think you would find a nice restaurant!

Note that the salsas had a kick to them. - Blue Fin Tuna Crudo ($28): Nothing to write home about. The chili was spicy. - French Onion Soup ($15): Just as good as we remembered it from last time. - Tasting for Two ($209): The filet and spinalis were delicious. The first time we went to Bask, the wagyu was exceptional. This time, it was the fattier part of the cut and sadly didn't live up to the hype. Disappointed. - Scallops ($50): Absolutely delicious. The arroz verde cremosa was soo good. Decent portion too. - Seafood Mac & Cheese ($20): Came with lobster and shrimp. Suuuuper good, cheesy, and creamy. - Broiled Asparagus ($15): Seriously amazing. The best asparagus I've ever had. We were celebrating an anniversary and they let us choose a dessert on the house. We got the Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding (normally $14). Sadly, it was just meh. We got the Colossal Cosmonaut Cookie last time, which was out of this world. Definitely get the cookie and skip the bread pudding.

We were surprised with a birthday card signed by staff and fresh flowers, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was our first time dining at Oak, and our server, Zuri, was fantastic. He took the time to explain the different cuts of steak and recommend some of the most popular sides, which we really appreciated. We started with the bread service. I loved the touch of salt on top of the roll--it was actually my favorite part. For our appetizer, we ordered the calamari, which came with artichokes, cherry peppers, garlic butter, and sweet chili sauce. As someone who loves artichokes, I especially enjoyed those bites, and the overall flavor was good. That said, the sweet chili became a bit overwhelming toward the end of the dish. One additional detail I loved about the calamari was the cheesecloth wrapped around the lemon. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it's the kind of small detail that really elevates the dining experience. For our entrée, we shared the 12 oz. Filet Mignon cooked medium, along with the mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower (without the red onion, cilantro, or sweet chili). The chef kindly sliced the steak for us, but it arrived a little too rare for my preference. The staff quickly corrected it, and to make up for it, they also brought us a side of cream corn, which was absolutely delicious. Overall, everything tasted great. For dessert, we were treated to a complimentary panna cotta, which was a lovely surprise. We also ordered the S'mores Baked Alaska--a brownie topped with graham cracker and ice cream, covered in meringue, then set ablaze with bourbon. The presentation was amazing and definitely a highlight of the evening. The flavor was good, although it was a bit difficult to cut into, which made it slightly less enjoyable for me. My boyfriend, however, loved it. The ambiance was wonderful. The booth seating felt intimate and comfortable, and I enjoyed the open-kitchen concept. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. The staff was incredibly kind, the food was delicious, and the thoughtful birthday touches made the evening memorable. I will definitely be back!

We also ordered a bottle of Cabernet sauvignon, which was good. We ordered the mussels appetizer, which was very tasty and served with French fries, also tasty. My husband ordered the steak au poivre, which was full of gristle, so he sent it back. I ordered the Morel pasta dish, which our waitress recommended. This dish was not good at all. The mushrooms were diced tiny with some strange flavor, which I couldn't eat, so I sent this back! My husband then ordered the scallops, which were very good. I ordered the Baratta which came with sourdough bread. The Baratta was good, but there was about a half cup of chopped parsley on the plate, which was very odd. It was like a parsley salad, which is inedible. Parsley should be used as a garnish or a sprinkle as a flavoring, not as a main component like a salad. I didn't say anything to the waitress, because I was tired of complaining. We were very disappointed in this restaurant and will not be returning.

Save room for dessert!…read more The food at Foundation Eatery was exceptional. As a self-described foodie, I'm always searching for restaurants that offer creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes with plenty of variety. Foundation exceeded every expectation. I ordered every dish the staff recommended, and each one was outstanding. Julio provided attentive, knowledgeable service, and you can tell Chef Mel and his wife, Sandy, have poured their hearts into every aspect of the dining experience. Their attention to detail is remarkable--they genuinely care that every bite is exactly as it should be, and it shows. We started with the Crisp Spanish Octopus and the mushroom ravioli. Julio also suggested adding an order of bread to soak up the incredible sauces, and I'm so glad he did--not a drop was left on the plate. For my entrée, I chose the scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. I even skipped most of the accompanying beans to save room for dessert, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of the night. The blueberry olive cake with blueberry sorbet was phenomenal and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and refreshingly free of distractions, allowing the food and conversation to take center stage. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with incredible food, outstanding hospitality, and an environment where every detail matters, Foundation Eatery is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back. PS. I can't believe they have a burger on the menu. I'd try that based on everything else!
