We've been here quite a few times and I love the vibe. It is nice and high end inside, but not stuffy. I love the outdoor patio and they often have events there that rally around the community. It is a great use of the space and the bar area is always happening. There is food for a mid price point and higher as well. We usually sit in the bar area as there are a few high tops and catch up with friends. You can order off the full menu here and a few of my favorites include the bang bang shrimp, steak tartare, and the steak frites as an entree. My husband and I visited this evening, for the first time, to celebrate our anniversary. We were welcomed by the hostess and led to our table. We asked our server, Skyla's, for appetizer recommendations. We ordered the tempura mushrooms per her suggestion and they were delish! I also ordered a half dozen oysters, they were good but not life changing. For our meal we split a 16oz ribeye wagyu style with truffle butter paired with butternut squash and bacon side. The steak was undercooked for our requested temperature but they quickly fixed it and the meal was absolutely delicious. The server also offered us complimentary champagne and dessert for our anniversary which was completely unexpected but so generous. For dessert we got the skillet cookie and my goodness, don't sleep on it!! The ambiance was romantic, warm and moody lighting. A lovely space to help us celebrate a special occasion. read more

Vice Steak Bar delivered an unforgettable night. From the moment we walked in, the energy was warm and welcoming, and every detail felt well thought out. Starting off on the patio with live jazz, drinks, and appetizers set the perfect vibe--relaxed, classy, and fun. Chef Nick personally shared his story, and it was impressive to hear how he raises his own cattle, handles the butchering, and brings a true farm-to-table experience right to the table. That passion really came through in the food. I would recommend the Steak and Frites. The shrimp and grits is also fantastic. Too hard to decide on a desert since they are all so good. Let's start with the obvious: it's Valentine's Day, and it's also a Saturday night. Easily one of the busiest restaurant nights of the year. Walking in, we had very reasonable expectations: it's going to be very crowded, loud, slower than normal.... all perfectly understandable and fine with us! We had reservations at 6:15, were seated immediately to find that there was a special (limited) menu for Valentine's Day, which we weren't told about when we booked. Okay, probably my husband's oversight since he didn't ask when booking the table. The special menu is 4 courses (2 appetizers, a main, and a dessert) with ~5 options to choose from each course. $110 per person. The waiter tells us that the wagyu option showing on the menu is already sold out, which seemed odd to me since it was only 6:15. We placed our orders and settled in for some relaxing conversation. The restaurant was packed wall-to-wall, with tables extremely close together, such that the hostess and patrons had a difficult time squeezing in between other diners to walk to their tables. Very uncomfortable but I guess expected for a busy night. What quickly became apparent, though, was that the restaurant was massively understaffed on one of the busiest nights of the year. I watched the waitstaff running nonstop, they were frazzled and working as hard as they could but they were massively outnumbered with no way to ever catch up. Our first two appetizer courses arrived after an embarrassingly long wait, and taste mediocre at best. The portions were understandably small as appetizers but we were already starving by the time they came out, making the bite-size portions pretty frustrating. After waiting 2 full hours we still did not have our main course. I overheard the couple seated next to us remarking that every table in the dining room was full of people but not a single table had any food sitting on it. I looked around and laughed- they were right. I excused myself to go to the ladies room, where i listened to two other female diners complaining that they had 8pm reservations, it was now 8:30 and they hadn't been seated yet. When our main course finally arrived we had been waiting for TWO AND A HALF HOURS to eat. My hangar steak was ordered well-done but came out charred (crispy) on the outside and still pink inside -- obviously the kitchen was rushing to catch up. Honestly I was so hungry by then I didn't even care. I ate every single crumb on my plate, though it tasted just mediocre, but i was starving. My husband had the ribeye and remarked his was very good. Our desserts arrived even later, which we similarly devoured out of hunger despite being pretty flavorless. From start to finish it took THREE HOURS to complete our meal. After the tip we spent $300+ on two meals and two glasses on wine, and unbelievably... I walked out of there still hungry! I am a petite female with a small appetite, but the portions were so tiny and spaced out over such a long evening that it never filled me up. As we waited in the parking lot for the valet to bring our car (they were awesome by the way!), we talked to another couple who had come out right behind us- they had only received their first course but were so appalled by the long wait they finally got up and walked out. They were heading to Waffle House! My husband and I came home and crushed a bag of Doritos so we didn't go to bed hungry after our $300 meal. Bottom line: this wasn't the fault of the servers or even the kitchen. This was a management and planning failure of epic proportions. Every diner was there by reservation, ordering from the same limited menu, and this level of delay was entirely preventable with proper staffing and preparation. Charging fine dining prices for a 3-hour meal that left us deeply disappointed and still hungry is simply shameful! We truly wish we had just given up and gone to Waffle House along with the others! read more

Vice Steak Bar recently opened and I was excited to try it out for my wife's Birthday dinner. We had reservations and I had indicated in the reservation that we were there celebrating her special day. When we got to the restaurant we were greeted promptly and immediate taken to a table. My first impressions walking in were good , with two thoughts: - it was loud as the place was nearly fully seated with customers, both in the bar and dining areas - It was brighter and more lively than the previous restaurant that was located in this same space previously. While the hostess was polite, she was very business focused on getting us to the table quickly and never acknowledged that we were here for a special occasion. The food quality was excellent for sure, but could have been hotter. My wife's potatoes came out cold and had to be reheated. I was served soup with no spoon. We had to ask for steak knives. The server never came back to ask how our meal was. We finished our drinks and waited for the server to come back to order another round, but he never came back. The server had no clue we were here for a birthday dinner. Minor points I hope that are attributed to them being recently opened for business. So overall good food and we look forward to coming back to see if they can work out the customer service side. read more

Serving a $80 Wagyu steak cut into 2 pieces does not a steakhouse make! "Overpriced and not that good" was my husband's review. But in my book, if you can't cook a steak to the correct temperature then take "Steakhouse" off your shingle! The service was excellent. Thank you, Ella. But the meal was just average, verging on disappointing. Too much nutmeg in the creamed spinach, total miss with the pimento in the mac&cheese, and every steak arrived pre-cut - the filet mignon, the prime rib - all precut because that's what you do when you're an amateur and can't cook steak correctly. All the juice was gone from the steak because it was cut before it rested and it was cut to stop it from overcooking. This kitchen is not ready for prime time! read more

Just OK - not worth a repeat visit We were really hoping to like Vice Steak Bar, but the experience was underwhelming. The food was just OK overall, and with the price point, we expected better execution. I ordered the $27 skirt steak, which was actually pretty good--solid flavor and cooked well. But that was about the highlight. Our sides were mixed up and given to the wrong person at the table, and the same thing happened to the table next to us. I had ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, which turned out to be deep fried and coated in a very spicy red hot sauce. That wasn't described on the menu and was way too hot for my taste. My wife ordered the filet mignon, one of the more expensive steaks on the menu, and it was disappointing. It came out charred on the outside but still undercooked inside (she ordered medium well). For the price, it should've been spot-on. The couple next to us also mentioned their oysters tasted fishy and seemed undercooked. All in all, with so many great spots around, this one didn't hit the mark for us--we won't be back. read more

This restaurant is an absolute No! We ordered the focaccia bread service. The bread was literally hard as a rock and had to send back. We also ordered the onion soup. It tasted like it went sour and had a distinct smell that was not good. The beet salad & Caesar salad were decent. My son ordered the steak and frittes. There were literally 5 slices of steak, tiny portion. The fries were good. The Mac and cheese was decent also. I would never recommend this restaurant and we will never return either. Do better Vice! Food was OK but not great. The restaurant was extremely loud. We had a hard time talking with our party. Further, despite having reservation, the hostess tried to seat us at a table near the kitchen and when we asked if we could take another empty table she said "no". Fortunately our soon to be server Daisy intervened and helped us choose a better table. Daisy made our experience better but again the food was mediocre at best. My wife's steak was overcooked and my salmon was on the dry side. We ordered creamed spinach for the table which was like spinach in a watery milk sauce. It was not good. But...Overall, I'd try Vice again and give them another chance. And there is no bread service (complimentary or paid). read more

Very disappointed. Really was hoping it would be great. Food was not good at all. Marrow appetizer was hollowed out had nothing in it. The people next to me ordered a steak and it was so foul smelling and so offensive we couldn't figure out why the meat was so foul smelling. But the worst part of it all is the GM's demeanor. Not someone who should be in the restaurant business. Barely said a word to the people when they had him smell the steak took it away never said can I get you anything else? My fiancée and I celebrated our engagement here on August 16th. Roman was our server and he, along with the rest of the staff, was phenomenal! Drinks, apps, main course, and desserts all flowed perfectly and without issue. Upon opening Vice Steak Bar is quite relaxed but as the evening progresses live music and events make Vice the place to be. The American wagyu was fork tender and the apple upside down cake decadent.
