Was about to settle with a dent in my bumper and just say frick it.. but then I came across "Mascot auto parts" on FB marketplace. At first i was little sketchy because their profile wasn't really comforting.. 17 friends.. minimal followers.. ahh .. I'll give it a shot. I messaged them.. after chatting and doing some parts research, they found my front bumper in stock and what made me feel more relieved.. this wasn't a junk yard or someone selling a used part.. they actually have a shop!! When I got there, everything was legit.. kinda reminded me of a shop where auto body and fender shops come to purchase parts from. A warehouse full of bumpers and grills.. all bubble wrapped and boxed. Went inside the office, paid for my bumper, they had me witness the unboxing for any defects and then re-wrapped my bumper back up. Done deal!!! 9:30am we started chatting on messenger.. by 11am I was driving away with a brand new chrome bumper.. Side NOTE: this is Napa or auto zone..don't expect that from them. Go to Napa and auto zone for those items. When we first met Marie, she was very thorough in explaining all the different product lines available for my vehicle, along with each pro and con of each line. She did not come across biased or attempting to up-sell me but what was honest and clear. She was able to showcase each product and their features and abilities. She told us we were able to complete the installation whenever we were ready. She said all we needed to do was have a clean-ish truck bed for a smoother installation. All the way leading up to the install, Marie kept a clear line of communication. On the day off, we dropped off the truck, finalized our decision on which product line to go with, as well as signed the last of the paperwork. She said it would take about 4 hours, however, she also advised we could leave the truck all the way up until 5pm for pickup. By the time we came back, the truck was ready and looking good. Marie shared all the details of the installation, as well as a thorough walk-through on the changes. She also went into detail about how to properly use the new cover and how to prevent misuse or abuse. I'll definitely be coming back here for future work.

When I calmly asked if she was moving her car or if I could park there briefly, she refused to answer and instead told me to "f*** off and get off the property." Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. A simple answer to my question would have resolved everything, but instead, she chose to be dismissive, rude, and outright hostile. To top it off, she even flipped me off through my car when I told her I'd call the store to clarify parking. It's unfortunate because I would have liked to support this business, but if they allow employees to behave like this toward potential customers, it's clear they don't care about how they're perceived. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere--somewhere that values professionalism and common courtesy. Giving this review of five star because I don't want to hurt a local business, but I want them to learn a lesson out of this.

The moment I got my truck back from paint, I booked it to MJ in Waipahu to check out their rim selection. And look -- I already knew what I was getting myself into. I've seen their website. My wallet was crying before I even parked, but this needed to happen. At this point it wasn't a want; it was self-care. Jordan greeted me and helped me out, taking all my questions and concerns like an AK‑47 on full auto -- clearly not his first rodeo. After about an hour of standing in place, I finally settled on a set of rims... of course choosing the one that wasn't readily available. It's fine. I was just happy I left with a purchase. Installation time was two or three weeks out. I think it was their tactic. They knew what they were doing. They were cooking. In actuality, I was cooking -- cooking up new damn ideas of what else to add to my truck. "Since I'm getting new rims, I should switch up the headlights." "Shoot, I also need to upgrade my dashcam, and their Wolfbox is on sale." Pulled the trigger. Gaddamn it. Installation day finally comes around, and honestly, I kind of had it coming. I originally wanted to reuse my old tires, but they were eight years old. The tread was barely used (I drive maybe 5k miles a year), but Hawaii UV does not play -- my tires were cracking and became a hazard. They couldn't install them. Had to buy tires. BFG KO3. Sounds badass. I'll take it. TPMS sensor change? Okay, fine. Wolfbox hardwire kit? Sure, go ahead. Lunch at Zippy's? Fck it, why not (jk). Wait one more week. But it was a trap. THEY. WERE. COOKING. They knew exactly what I was thinking, I swear. "Why you only get the headlights? Stock tail lights? You shame or what? Third brake light look more like broke light. GTFOH." BRUH. I have issues. But you know what? They did good. Jordan helped me through the whole process, answered my texts, and made everything painless and efficient. This ended up being the most expensive birthday present I've ever given myself. Just to be clear: I'm not a car guy. I just wanted to change the way my truck looked -- and MJ Motorsports made it happen.
