I am not one to do a review on a Restaurant or anything else for that matter. In fact this is the first time for me. But everything we experienced last night was worthy of taking the time to write about it. My wife and I and another couple had dinner here last night and enjoyed absolutely everything about this place. The food and cocktails were delicious, the ambience was great, but what made the night for me was the service. My wife and I try to go on a date night every weekend and have been to a lot of different eateries. Every once in a while you will come across a waiter or waitress that is exceptional at their job. Well our waiter last night whose name was Matt was the best we have had in years! He knew the menu inside and out. He suggested cocktails , appetizer, entree's etc... Constantly checked on our needs and made sure everything was to our liking. I can't say enough about how great this young man was. He really completed a fantastic date night for us. read more

The family and I took a trip to the Camarillo outlets to do some shopping. We were planning on dining at Wood Ranch, but remembered Larsen's had a restaurant in Oxnard. We decided to take the drive and we were not disappointed. This location is so cool, it's located in a really fun outdoor mall with tons of stores and things to do. We did not have a reservation and had to wait a short 15 minutes. The restaurant was packed with happy customers. The food was just as good as any, Larsen's, we have visited, this brand stays consistent with quality food and great service. I have read some interesting reviews that don't really make a lot of sense being such a loyal customer to this brand. I guess everybody has an off night once in a while. I have eaten at every Larsen's location and can't express how good their food really is. I'm a lifelong customer and thankful for this family owned business. Keep up the great work guys :) read more

Prices are high and if food and service were high quality then I would go back. However, food was very good but service was terrible... disappointing experience. We may try again but for the price we paid I would have expected that the manager actually paid attention to customers and actually walked around talking to customers to ensure they were happy... but no body seemed to care. read more

I'm not really a steak person so steak houses aren't really my thing but my boy just graduated law school and his wife set up a celebration here for all of his friends. Off first impression I thought the restaurant was very classy and sexy. They had a guy in the bar area playing live instruments while singing covers and he sounded great! My fiancé and I stood at the bar for a while to get a drink and we weren't really sure why it took so long but it was ok. Once the rest of our party arrived, they directed us to the back part of the restaurant for huge parties. It was a section behind a closed door next to the kitchen that had a separate TV and 3 tables in a "U" shape prepared to sit about 30 people. The room was decorated perfectly with gorgeous paintings, an electric fireplace like wall mount and a huge flat screen tv. The service was pretty good but the only problem was we had to hunt the waiter down to take our orders after a while. Once they came everything was fine. Now for the food & drinks: MOSCOW MULE - we ordered at the bar and it was hella strong to me lol. That's always a good thing. RASPBERRY MARTINI - delicious!!! It almost tasted like candy and was very flavorful. That drink was amazing. WEDGE SALAD - the salad was very good and the bacon was on point! FILET MIGNON - my fiancé ordered this and she gave me one tiny bite. She raves about how great it was and I really can't remember how good it was because she barely gave me any. She LOVED it though and she barely even eats meat. BACON WRAPPED PRAWNS - these might of been my favorite out of everything. The prawns were HUGE! They also came with some sort of dipping sauce that was very tasty but I'm not quite sure what it was. These are a must try if you like shrimp and bacon. CRAB STUFFED PETRALE SOLE - amazing!! This meal comes on top of a pile of mashed potatoes and a few asparagus (so make sure you don't get mashed potatoes or asparagus as your side) and it comes with your choice of 1 side. I chose French fries. The fish and crab were delicious and very soft and light. Overall we had a wonderful experience and the night was a success. This is my special celebration spot! I love it here. My favorite dish is rotisserie chicken. I am not a steak person so very happy that this place makes great chicken. I got a filet mignon my friend got the "Dry" aged fillet butterflied $61 that one had a really different flavor that I loved. mine the aged "wet" $51 was also savory. Came here just for wine and dessert to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance was nice- definitely date night vibes. Live music, plus the Dodger game was on. Like I said earlier came for a birthday celebration post dinner dessert kind of thing, the place was definitely very nice and casual but gave off a top dollar vibe. We walked in and was almost immediately seen by the hostess who greeted us and showed us to our table. We did say we just came for dessert and drinks so when the actual table host came they didn't expect too much from us I guess. On to the vibe and experience.... The place was lively and fun! Our server was less energetic, but it was late, so I would understand if she was tired. She smiled by the time we left, so it's all good. Anyways, our butter cake was amazing! Definitely a fan! I went to Larsen's for the first time for a friend's birthday celebration. I was very impressed with the food and service. I especially want to complement the host at the front desk, Marcus. He greeted us as we entered the restaurant with exceptional customer service. I was very impressed. I knew then that I was going to be treated well. I ordered a specialty drink that I get often at a restaurant in Santa Ynez and asked if it could be made. The waitress checked with the bartender Garrett if he could make it. After the waitress brought my drink. Garrett came over personally, introduced himself; asked how the drink was and if I liked it. I told him that it was perfect. As you enter the restaurant there's a piano player in the beautiful well stocked bar, lovely chandelier lighting through out, With nice booth and table seating! I've been wanting to try this place since they opened so I decided to try for our Christmas dinner with my husband. I made a reservation through OpenTable. It was really easy. We arrived there 15 minutes before but we had to wait until our reservation time although that was ok for us. The receptionist was very friendly and all waiters were friendly too. I ordered red glass wine, Flemmings House Salad, USDA PRIME DRY AGED STAKES(Filet Mignon) with Maple Glazed Carrots and Pecan Pie a la mode. The stake was not the best stake I have ever had but everything was good. I loved the Pecan Pie! My overall experience at Larsen's Grill was great. This place used to be our go to spot, not sure what has happened. This is our sexond time coming in the last month and again we were disappointed. The food takes almost an hour (both times there were only about 4-5 tables occupied) and when it comes half is cold. The last time we ordered the Cod and it along with its potatoes were cold....and we waited an hour for it. Todays food took 40 min for a cold sandwhich and fish and chips....again the fries were older and cold. Phenomenal Mother's Day Champagne Sunday Brunch! They really do it right. $59.99 per person. Yeah, not cheap, but good food is expensive. Doesn't Mom deserve it? There was so much I didn't get a chance to try. Went to Larsen's again last night for dinner with a friend. We ordered a Whiskey Sour which was delicious. The Tuna Tartare ( ask for extra wonton chips) . A Baratta Salad. Then a fully loaded baked potato, ask for the mushroom sauce to pour over! The Mac n Cheese is also great! The patio dining is nice but ask for a heater in the evening. You will spend about as much for dinner here as you would at that other place across the plaza, but you won't have to wait 45 min for a table. Last time we were there we had the Salmon and The tri Tip with Baby Back Ribs. Delicious but way too much food with all the sides and appetizers! Oh my gosh I have not been out in three months and we finally decided to try Larsens in Oxnard. I have to tell you this is the most professional establishment ever. These servers are doing a fabulous job. They change their gloves every time they touch a table. We're talking 30 changes in one shift. It's like they are serving us in a sleeping bag. So hard to breathe. I know they are hot, they're tired and they are working their tails off. But you would not know it they are professional and they are fierce. Larsen's was quite the surprise to find in Oxnard. Nestled next to lazy dog and Cheesecake Factory you'll find this upscale steak house. The downside of being a young couple when you go to these places is you just don't get the attention as an older couple would. The staff was nice but the vibe was definitely not there. We didn't let that stop us, we ordered up a couple martinis to start our evening. A wedge salad to start our meal and a couple of dry aged ribeyes with broccoli And garlic mashed potatoes to accompany the steaks. The greatest steak ever cut if you ask me! Unfortunately I know the reasoning of the steaks seasoning,or lack there of, was to accentuate the beefy flavor of the dry aging but unfortunately it was far from memorable. It was good, don't get me wrong, and cooked perfectly to each of our liking, it just didn't have that wow factor to have me craving another visit. The sides were delicious and the roasted garlic on the plate was awesome to go with the meal. The missing ingredients on the wedge salad worked out well since I wasn't fond of candied nuts anyhow. When I came here for the first time they were not that busy,but this is when they first opened. Man what a difference a few years make. We went on a Saturday night, we had reservations and the dinner was off the charts. We ordered the château Briand (spelling?) we really enjoyed it. I would order it again it's a little pricey at $160 but we shared the dish. They also offer for an additional $20.02 salads and butter cake. The most disappointing part of the meal was the butter cake. It was ice cold maybe just came out of the freezer and super hard. Had to use our steak knife to cut it. but we didn't go there for butter cake. We would definitely go back again but I would pass on the butter cake. This was our first time out since the quarantine restrictions, the occasion was my wife delayed birthday dinner celebration. First the good stuff: The steaks were some of the best we have ever had. The garlic mashed potato was great. Social distancing was observed and staff wore masks and gloves. Our waitress was delightful. The not so good stuff: The fries were reheated, ($9) awful. The peppercorn sauce we ordered with the meal (4$) never arrived and when it did it was not hot. There were no placemats or coasters on the table. So the plates spun when cutting food and the water glass dripped all over your clothes. It took three attempts before we could get lemon wedges. A few notes to the management : 1. Peppercorn sauce is served hot, not cold, and is served with the stake not after. 2. Please stop serving reheated fries, they're greasy and disgusting. At the price, you charge they should be straight out of the frier. 3. I made a big deal to Amber that it was my Wifes delayed birthday dinner and our first time out since the quarantine. I think a cupcake and candle wouldn't have killed "Larsens". Having to purchase a dessert requesting a candle was from your staff was pretty pathetic. read more

We had an overall great experience. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! With the help of our attentive waiter Pico, my fiancé ordered the ribeye and he was content with every single bite. The meat was super tender and flavorful. If you're debating about getting the peppercorn sauce for the steak, do it!!! Pairs very well with the steak. I ended up ordering the blackened chicken pesto pasta and it was some of the best pasta I've had thus far! Our dinner ended with a birthday butter cake that was so soft, warm and just delectable.
