From all the hype I'd read, I expected more. There was nothing wrong with our meal; it was adequate. The service was adequate. The steaks were cooked properly but the plating was unexciting and the truffle mashed potatoes had far too much truffle oil added-a little dab will do you. Granted I have only been there one time so far, I will be back and if the food, service, and ambiance remain on par I will increase my rating to 5 stars. We have been to Las Brisas many times for date night and board meetings. The service and food has always been excellent. However, last night was different. Our server made mistakes with every part of our meal from serving the wrong wine to telling us he was going to do things he never did. He never apologized for his mistakes and he seemed very fidgety the entire time as if he had consumed too many energy drinks or something. We had the lobster bisque which as excellent as always. However, the Chilean Sea Bass I ordered tasted more like a frozen cod fillet warmed up and covered with their excellent sauce that usually is served with this dish. We also shared the pretzel brownie desert. The pretzel crust was practically not there and where there was a crust, it was soggy instead of crunchy as it usually is. I'm not sure what has happened but we are wishing it had been a better experience. read more

Great place for a special meal in Lubbock. For a high end steakhouse it is on the casual side, which was why I picked it. The steaks were the right temperature, they did not spare the flavor on the side dishes and the staff was attentive. Las Brisas will not go lite on your diet or light on your wallet, but it is worth the calories and cost. We hung out on the porch after the meal an enjoyed the waterfall. The tableside bananas foster worked for four of us. Vanilla ice cream and bananas with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, rum and banana liqueur. It is just fun to have fire at the table. read more

Thank you so much for making our wedding reception dinner special. Covid forced us to change our plans from eating in a private dining area to take-out. This is not exactly what you want for a wedding reception but Las Brisas, and Savannah in particular, made it happen. Our food arrived in separate bags for each of our guests cooked to perfection for everyone. That by itself is an accomplishment given we had prime rib, ribeyes and lobster. The prime rib was a fan favorite along with the truffle mashed potatoes and the creme brûlée. The food arrived exactly on time and was delivered by a courteous and helpful driver. BEST restaurant in Lubbock. No arguments. Everything is impressive. I cannot think of one thing that could have been more perfect. Great Service, Great Quality, Great Food, Great Lighting, Great Customer Service, Great Options, Great View, Great EVERYTHING! The view is of a man made lake with beautiful fountains. The decor inside is very fancy and elegant. Low lighting with white table clothes and comfortable chairs, it is worth mentioning when you will be sitting down for so long at the nice dinner. I didn't see one staff not smiling. The food, oh my goodness the food. I have lived in Lubbock off and on for 5 years now and the staff was shocked that I had never been. I know now why. It is the best restaurant within hours of Lubbock. We had the appetizer sampler, it has every appetizer on it and all were delicious. My favorite was the calamari. I also had a bowl of lobster bisque. DIVINE, very creamy. My main course is what really sold me on this place. I got the "Las Brisas Sea Bass". I ordered a New York strip medium rare , it came out med well. Big deal, you get a over cooked steak at a steakhouse. Well that's ok at Golden Corral, but a fifty dollar steak it is a problem. I ate it and felt bad I didn't send it back. Where is the quality control? They served me that stiff black steak. I guess they would rather loose a customer, than a steak. Well we wanted a good steak so we decided to try Las Brisas (not a very steakhouse worthy name but we thought we'd give it a chance). The atmosphere was nice. The ribeye was medium and not medium well so we had to send back. Well the flavor was good but the steak was tough for a ribeye ($37). Then the up charges were ridiculous $3.00 PER substitute ; the truffle mash to southern mash and $7.00 to split the plate (brought an extra plate ). I mean I get making money but come on (gouging more like it). Manager came out after we had already paid and told him that I was never told about the up charges. I mean if you're a steakhouse then your steaks should be tender and I should not get charged to get a different mash potatoes especially after I had to send it back once. So I would not recommend this place due to the tough steak and up charges. read more

This is the gold standard in Lubbock. I have never had a meal less then perfect there. In my opinion this as good of a steak as any in Texas. The service is always attentive and top notch professional. Nice wine list also. I've only had the rib-eye, however others in my party have had the salmon and were extremely pleased. The ribeye medium rare with garlic butter is phenomenal. It's why I go to this restaurant. You are doing yourself a disfavor if you've never been. Very nice patio as well. read more

I took my parents here for my last night in town (around 7pm on a Friday). I was looking for an upscale place to treat them. The place was packed and lively. The Good: The hostess, Jessica, the bartender, and the server, Mason, were all excellent. I was a bit afraid of the staff being pretentious, snobby, and having a tinge of racism (as I've been told 50 Yard Line does), but I felt absolutely welcome and impressed. The place was lively and everyone was chatty. You could possibly brush elbows with Lubbock elite - whatever that really means - in a relaxed atmosphere. The steak is cooked to perfection. My dad sent his back because he wasn't happy with the cooking, and when it came back it was sizzling to his liking. The plates were served HOT, so they kept the food warm throughout. The mashed potatoes were to die for - spiced with a cheese topping. I had two margaritas. They tasted great and had me a little saucy by the end of dinner. The Bad: It was very overpriced for Lubbock. Most Lubbock places wouldn't dare breaking the $30 mark for a steak, but this place blew right past it. My girlfriend ordered fish tacos that were definitely overpriced for what they were. We've had better fish tacos at taquerias. It wasn't exactly the quiet atmosphere I was expecting. There is definitely a typical clientele. The plating and presentation could definitely use a great deal of work. Each meal was served on the same size plate. It made my dad's 14 oz steak look huge, but my 8 oz steak look lonely on the plate. The mashed potatoes were also on a separate plate served minutes later. In sum, way too overpriced for what you got out of the meal. Overall: I'll go there again if I'm looking to feel like a big spender or impress someone. If I'm simply hankering for a steak, there are plenty other places that can give me just as much taste for a fraction of the price. It's a place worth trying at least once. read more

This place was pretty good, but if you're paying that sort of money it should be excellent. I got the beef Wellington, and I got it rare. Unfortunately it was a little less cooked than rare AND the puff pastry was raw in places. It was raw in places where the puff pastry was a bit more concentrated, so they definitely could have done less puff pastry there and cooked it a little more. But if you're paying $50 it should be perfect. I'd give this place 4 stars if the puff pastry wasn't raw, that was kinda unacceptable. I would take another star off because the girl who boxed our food was cold and a little rude. It was definitely just an awkward experience. I had food on my plate (raw puff pastry and mashed potatoes) and she asked if she could take my plate and I said that I wanted to box the potatoes with my bfs food. And just leaves without saying anything and comes back with a small box without considering the mounds of food on the other plates. She puts like 3/4 of my food in the small box, goes and gets another small box and puts the rest of my bfs steak in it. We had like half of the lobster mac and a thing of creamed spinach still not boxed so we just put it with the other small boxes. Once again, if you're paying $150-$200 for two people I would expect the service to be excellent. Finally, I thought the mashed potatoes were dry. read more

Beautiful restaurant and very attentive staff. It took 2 tries to get our steaks cooked well enough. My filet mignon was excellent. The rib eye had no flavor. The potatoes and asparagus was perfect. There was a guy wearing basketball shorts and a tshirt that was serving food. I would expect better from a fine restaurant. Great service! Food was good but in personal opinion think Double Nickel has slightly better steaks and sides. However, the shrimp cocktail was better here. Good wine selection too. Unfortunately the food selections have decreased and the prices increased. The food good but not exceptional. The waiter charged $13 for a wine taste. Then the full price when bought a glass of wine. Struggling to understand how this place is less than 4-5 stars. Starting with the drinks. Excellent choices and very extensive wine list. Something for any budget. Appetizers were very good. Crab cakes were extremely good. Stuffed mushrooms were very good, but had an unnecessary sauce. It was unneeded and actually masked the great mushroom taste. Salads,very good and nice size. Easy to share if desired. Entrees, this is were this restaurant earns their star rating. The steaks were cooked to order and had an excellent flavor. I had the 10 oz. filet medium rare. Absolutely perfect from the first bite to the last. Desserts, again no disappointment here. Cheesecake was large and very good. The apple tart with caramel sauce and ice cream smelled awesome. We took out of town guests to what I consider one of Lubbock's higher end restaurants. I was so disappointed in the food and the continued short pours of wine. I've always been a Las Brisas supporter but I've been there for the last time. Our server was kind, it was easy to get a table when we went. The drinks were yummy but the food wasn't worth the money though. The sea bass was yummy but the vegetables were over cooked. I had high hopes for the lobster Mac but we could only stomach about 3 bites before we called it quits. My husbands steak was well prepared, but it lacked flavor. Las Brisas is the perfect spot for a special evening or for a fun meal with friends. It's definitely not cheap, but everything I've ever eaten here was worth it. One of my favorite dishes is the stuffed avocado. Truly delicious. They have run out of them in the past, so I would make sure to order it as soon as the waiter approaches your table. This place is a nice choice for special dinners. Bar is great. Waiter was great. Food was great. It is very pricey. We came for a work dinner. We had a party of 8. Our bill before tip was close to $900. Granted, we ordered 4 bottles of wine and 4 desserts, but this is a place reserved for the most special of occasions. I thought the steaks were good, but mine was slightly over cooked (medium, not medium rare as ordered). The truffle potatoes were just okay. The asparagus was good. A friend ordered the lobster macaroni and cheese. It was the most amazing mac and cheese I've ever had. read more

This review is from an experience I had 9 years ago with my Dad. The 32oz bone in porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection. Great sear on the exterior from the salt but not overwhelming taste of salt or butter. This was the biggest steak of my life (even to this day) and then I had my first experience with the gloriousness of that which is a bacon wrapped jalapeños...an absolute treat from Dad being a college intern for the summer from the SE and an experience I will never forget. read more
