We have been unpleasantly surprised at the price of the Mexican restaurants in this area so we decided to try something new. The reviews were decent so we stopped in & we're glad we did. Low-key hole in the wall in a strip mall surrounded by Asian spots. But the vibe was chill, the food came out hot & was really good. Salsa was on point. Not too spicy but flavorful. The chips are really good & sprinkled with some sort of yummy powder. The only complaint was that the only beer they had on tap was Dos Equis Amber and it was FLAT & tasted watered down, so I took a star away for it...it was 22oz for $8.50, I was wanting a Modelo and surprised they didn't have it. The margs seem pricey so I skipped one this time. $11-13 for a small, larges were $20!!! Also, the sign coming in said the first basket of Chips n salsa was free but 3.99 each after that. Which was kinda funny to me. Also I read that refills aren't free. We didn't get one so I'm unsure of this. I ordered off the Ala Carte menu & got a beef enchilada & hard taco for $9. Can't beat it. Very flavorful. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. For 2 people with a beer and soda came to $37. We'll definitely be back.

    Guacamole

I Ordered Guacamole and chips as a pick up item. For $13.00 I received about 2 Tablespoons of Guacamole on top of about 6 inches of lettuce, served with cold chips( have ALWAYS received warm chips with EVERY order).

Carne Asada rib eye steak...really thin slice for a steak but quite tasty

Solid Mexican food restaurant. Service is quick. I was surprised that I enjoyed the green chili cheese fries my son ordered. Our table ordered the Carna Asada, menu accurately describes it as a thin sliced rib eye steak which was quite tasty. Chicken flautas, veggie burrito and burrito/enchilada combo dinner. Reasonable prices, good serving sizes.

When you first walk in you get a good feeling it's a good tasting restaurant. Small mexico feel. Nice atmosphere. That's about it when it comes to the good stuff. Besides the homemade beans. OmGosh. The beans are to die for. Was seated right away with no one in the restaurant. We sat for about 5 minutes before giving the menu. A good 20 minutes after that was asked if we were ready. No water or drinks to start. The menudo was one of the worst. It was extremely salty and mushy. Enchilada and tamale were subpar.

Mexican is my go-to comfort food after a rough day, and I've been on a quest to find just the right place. I happened upon this restaurant on my way home from running errands and recognized the name from previous Yelp searches. Let me just preface this by saying that I'm a bit picky when it comes to Mexican food. First and foremost, the restaurant must offer free chips & salsa, and they must be good. If the food is only so-so but they have stellar chips & salsa, I'll ALWAYS go back. The food is not nearly as important as the quality of the salsa. I fill up on that anyway, so the rest is just an encore. This place made my day by including their chips & salsa with my to-go order (bonus!). However, the chips seemed stale so it was difficult to tell if the salsa was any good (sad!). It ruined my salsa experience. Based on appearance alone, I'd guess the salsa is good, though I prefered the look of the salsa that came with my tacos instead of the one offered with the chips. It seemed like they should have been switched around. Next up: Queso dip. I can't remember what this is called on the menu so I'll just call is queso. I've been searching for a great queso and had high hopes for this one. But again, the chips sullied my queso experience. It tasted pretty good, I think, but something was a bit off. It might have been the bad chips or the fact that it was a little runny for my tastes. I'd like to try it again one day with fresher, thinner chips. Main course: Chicken street tacos with rice and beans. The rice & beans were yummy and tacos decent. I didn't get that ohmygoshthisissooooogood! feeling but also wasn't complaining. They weren't the best I've ever had but were good enough that I'd possibly order them again. All in all, I'd probably rate this a 7 out of 10, but since I can't choose 3.5 out of 5, I'm rating them a 4. A 3 just isn't high enough.

Left: ground beef taco salad. Right: shredded beef chimichanga with green chili on side (separate container further right)

The chips & salsa but, specifically the cabbage salsa, are enjoyable staples. The tortilla soup is also a must have. Sometimes, I just grab the soup plus chips & salsa. I like the soup because it's hearty and full of fresh ingredients. This time we enjoyed tostadas, street tacos, & green chile stew along with the standard refried beans & Spanish rice. And we didn't forget the alcoholic libations, rounding it out with margaritas and Corona. There are no complaints here. The food is always on point. The restaurant itself is always clean, welcoming, & prepared for a good time. The staff are always friendly & attentive. I also enjoy the entertainment playing in the screens & the nights with the mariachi. They are available on the food delivery app, too.

The staff is quick and very friendly, and the menu has plenty of great options to choose from.

A lot of places popped up, but this Mexican restaurant really stood out -- great reviews and the food pictures looked amazing. It's about 13 minutes from the airport, which made it super convenient. From the outside, it looks small, but once you walk in, it's surprisingly spacious. We were seated immediately, and our server was absolutely phenomenal -- so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. For an appetizer, we ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (you can choose corn or flour tortillas). This is one of my favorite dishes to get at any Mexican restaurant if they offer it, and this one did not disappoint. The cheese was perfectly melty and stretchy, and the chorizo had great flavor that paired so well with it. Wrapping that cheesy, savory goodness in a warm tortilla? So good. For my main dish, I ordered the quesabirria -- corn tortillas filled with birria and cheese, fried crispy, and served with consommé for dipping. It was decent, but I will say it didn't have quite as much flavor as I'm used to with quesabirria. Still enjoyable, just could've used a bit more seasoning. The beans were actually delicious and full of flavor, but the rice was a little bland and could've used some salt. Overall, the service was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and even though it was busy, everything came out in a timely manner. The prices were also very reasonable -- definitely not expensive for the quality and portions. I would absolutely come back to try other dishes. With just a little more seasoning in some areas, it would easily be a five-star spot for me!

Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. We were told our total was $32, but when I paid with a card, the final charge came to $34.93. When I asked why the amount was different, I was told it was because I paid with a card. I understand that taxes and fees may apply, but customers should be told the full amount before being charged. What bothered me the most was the attitude. When I politely asked for clarification, the person cooking responded in a rude and arrogant way, saying, "You know that in the United States you have to pay sales tax." I wasn't questioning whether sales tax exists, I was simply asking why the amount I was quoted was different from the amount I was charged. I also noticed that my receipt showed a Denver sales tax rate of 9.15%, even though the food truck was located in Aurora on Hampden, which added to the confusion. The food is excellent, but the customer service and lack of clear communication left a negative impression. I would return for the food, but I hope they work on treating customers with more respect and explaining charges more clearly.
