My wife caught wind of this spot from a SFV local, said this was where his family ate often when he was a kid growing up in Reseda. He said it was the best Mexican food in the Valley. Aye, he was right. The food is clean, the portions are generous, and the prices are fair. I mean for most of the menu options you're basically getting two meals. You enter through the door on the east side where there's a line leading up to a cashier area. The menu will be all over the wall to the right of the cashier. The ordering was pleasant, although I had asked for a tostada con machaca (shredded beef) which was on their menu. However she put "con carnitas" in the system, when I told her I wanted shredded beef not shredded pork, she looked at me blankly and said they didn't have that. I relented because I was hungry and had 4 guests with me, so I asked for carne asada instead. The burritos are massive. Grandma got 2 carne asada tacos; she ended up splitting the double tortilla shells and making 4 perfect tacos. That's how much meat they have! Our boy got the chicken soup, which was delicious! When I'm in need of comfort, I'll come back for this. My tostada was delicious, I ate the whole thing! My wife only ate half of hers though. There's a healthy portion of meat in there and the sour cream/guac toppers were heavy handed! The sodas you do yourself - they have two fountain machines. There's a salsa bar that I wish was bigger, the traffic is always heavy around it. The dining atmosphere is like being at your abuela's house - we had the kids snag a table and give us some time to order. My husband is a huge fan of this restaurant, which is why we come here so often. He loves the carnitas plate. The portion is very generous, and the taste is really good. In my case, I haven't had much luck. I tried the enchiladas but didn't like them, and the flauta taquitos as well. Something is missing in these two dishes--they're not tasty at all, and they overdo it with the sour cream. The prices are affordable, though. You order at the counter and then look for a table, which I think is part of the experience. We live in California, so Mexican food is a must here, but this restaurant still has some room for improvement to raise the quality a bit more. read more

But it's been a while since we think of it often but for some reason don't. Deciding on what to get is a challenge. I chose something I've never had before - pechuga. When it arrived home I was totally impressed. I like this place and melody both, they are the same owners. The staff is very nice and place is clean. I have been coming here for 10 years now... UNFORTUNATELY the last year or so and even after COVID they have kept on reducing their portions aggressively. They have been continuing to do that even currently. I still go there sometimes , very rarely mainly because of this reason. The food is good but NOT worth it anymore price wise. POQITO MAS is less pricier and more fair. I've been coming to Las Fuentes for 30 years.. or as long as I've been alive and I don't think I'll ever stop. This is the most consistently amazing Mexican food for super affordable prices. The staff is so friendly and welcoming as ever. The vibes are just as great with the same decor that I remember. You know it's good when every single table is full every time you come. They have "the best taquitos in the world", says my mom.. and I'd have to agree.. I don't think their recipes have ever changed and I may have dreams about the salsa. The Torta de Milanesa is my go-to, the meat is crispy perfection and tender in every bite along with crunchy jalapeños and creamy avocado. My husband has the wet bean and cheese burrito every time because that sauce on the burrito is unlike any other we've ever had, it's delicious! So let me say first the girl at the register was very nice and after 16 years of coming here this was our first bad experience. We come in most every weekend and usually the kids get the same thing bacon breakfast burrito with the added rice and beans combo plate. Today we ordered and when the food got there it was only the small breakfast burritos. So i went up to the counter to ask what happened and they said they took the order wrong and charged me for the rice and beans inside the burrito not the combination plates. So, Alejandro come out from the kitchen and said the same thing the order was taken wrong, and we added rice and beans inside the 2 burritos. I placed a DoorDash order and was not able to add notes so I called in to correct what I wanted instead. I asked for no beans and to add rice to my burrito. The way the woman reacted over the phone was so outlandish, I just simply didn't understand. She made a huge fuss and refused to simply take an ingredient out and add another instead...then canceled my order. Put someone with more patience and better customer service to handle your phone calls. Very disgusting behavior. It's just rice, don't be cheap. And if it's an "adding it to the system problem..." don't be lazy and walk 10 steps to the kitchen and ask them to do it. It's called customer service and any decent business cares about details like this. Because these details determine if someone will ever order from you again, and I certainly will not. read more

My hubby was here again few times because they have his favorite, Chili Colorado. I was not a fan of my food. I ordered a plate of 2 Taquitos with Rice and Beans. The taquitos were buried under a mound of guacamole. I had to scrap it off just to get to the taquito. The portion of refried beans was small. When I mixed them with the rice, it stuck together because I didn't have enough refried beans to compliment the large amount of rice. They need to watch their portion control. The taquitos were very dry. The chicken was very dry. I had to dunk it in salsa to eat it. The beef taquito was dry also, but it mushy, not like the shredded beef taquitos .I'm use to having. The decor of the restaurant is wonderful! And the staff work very hard to ensure your food is delivered timely. Craved Mexican food after work with my boyfriend. We were thinking of heading to another place our friend recommended for us but Yelp's review rating for the place deterred us from going there. Which led us to search up Mexcian food on Yelp and coming across Las Fuentes. The reviews were a good average of 4 stars, so we decided to try it out. Which I'm so glad we did!! First off, on Saturday afternoon the parking lots are crowded & we were lucky to find one spot open. Lots of cars were parked in the sidewalks along the streets too, so the area is very busy and bustling as the place is also along Reseda. Ambiance: Bustling, festive Mexican spirit. There were a lot of families here as well as people coming off of work too. It gave a lively feel to the place and it added excitement to my partner and I as we just knew that with all these people here, the food would be good! We peeked at other people's plates and they were very satisfying to the eye. Salsa bar: Caught our eyes and made us very happy to see the salsa bar was open for customers to freely grab whatever salsas, toppings, and spices they would like. Food: The food we ordered was so good and for a busy Saturday afternoon, we got our plates delivered to us quicker than we had estimated! The steak quesadilla combo was amazing to eat and dip in either the sour cream, guacamole, or the salsas I grabbed so it was an endless platter of taste and flavor combinations. The cheese tasted great, the steak was flavorful, and the tortillas were nice and warm. My partner got the burrito especial and he was full just from eating half of the burrito! He also couldn't help saying that the burrito with the wet sauce was so good! Felt like a burrito for once even tho I prefer hole in the wall taco places. I decided to go with the wet burrito. Burrito was a big size and plenty of sauce. Nice restaurant with plenty of seats. Parking is very limited, only 3 or 4 spaces and on a busy street and there's a blind spot trying to get out the parking lot. It's best to park on the street if you eat here.
