Really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars... the customer service was great, the drinks were good and the food would have been amazing had my "Duck Fajita" not been so thin there was practically NO meat on the bone when it came out. Food is ok, not fresh most of the time, tastes old. Ambiance is very dated, nothing exciting. The service is questionable, it's hit or miss. I used to go there all the time, but this one server seems to show favortism to certain customers he likes, and never greets you, walks right by you like he's never seen you before. I got tired of that and decided to take my business elsewhere where the service., food, and attitude is better, where they are glad to have your business and show it. I called in an order of beef fajitas for 2. My wife picked up the order and brought it home. Upon unpacking the food, we realized we received fajitas for 2. So, $75.00(left a $10 tip)later, we received fajitas for 2. I called and spoke to the manager. He was very apologetic and asked me if I'd like to come back and pick up the other half, or if I wanted a credit. I advised him that we eat there 2-4 times per week, and we'd just take the credit. He then asked me to hold. He came back and asked me to take a picture of the container my fajitas were packaged in. I told him we had thrown it out and cleaned already, and I wasn't going to dig it out of the trash. He told me he'd have to have a picture in order to submit a credit. My assumption is, he suspects I'm lying. I have no need to lie. As I told him, we eat there 2-4 times per week. Overall, the food and service is excellent. However, customer service is not handled in the way that it should be. He lost a very good customer over a $25 meal credit. We easily spend over $100 per week there. We will no longer be doing that. I was not rude or acting like "Karen" in any way, shape or form. I understand accidents happen, and I just wanted to make them aware of the situation, and see what they could do to make it right. We started our meal with the delicious chile con queso. Loved the fried flour tortilla chips it came with. The botana platter has nachos, quesadillas, and flautas, both beef and chicken. Served with quacamole, sour cream, and pico. The fajita meat was very flavorful. We finished our meal with the tres leches cake which was perfect, so moist. Been regulars for years but recent management changes and continued staff changes make me wonder what is going on with this once wonderful spot in my neighborhood. During recent changes food suffered but is improving. My main complaint are the chips - once light and crispy now tough as shoe leather. Great little local Tex-Mex restaurant. Perfect for family dining. The Fajitas a la Diabla are the spiciest item we have found on the menu. Delicious! The owner and managers are so sweet and a joy to work with when making arrangements for Spirit Nights for your charity. Waited over an hour for our food after ordering, two of the dishes arrived cold, and one of our tickets had an extra charge the waiter forgot to tell us about. We kindly asked to speak to a manager when it had been an hour after ordering and the tables seated after us had already received food, and the manager did not believe us and asked to see our tickets because "they are time stamped" and refused to believe that the service had been so poor. Husband and I went to lunch here after doing some shopping at the outlet store and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The restaurant is part of a shopping center, which I'm always iffy about, but the food was really good and the flour tortillas are homemade which is a huge plus! When the bill came there were lots of additional charges. 1.00 for a tiny cup Of six jalapeños to go along with the queso... another 1.00 for diced onion to sprinkle on top of enchiladas ( onions on enchiladas is usually how they are served. ). These are all things that typically accompany these dishes. There were a few other charges as well when we asked the waitress she said she didn't know it was in the new system. She offered no help or other explanation. I am fine with up charging for special requests but would like to be notified when ordering. These were not anything out of the ordinary. The absolute BEST Mexican food that I've had north of the beltway. I am VERY picky when it comes to eating restaurant style Mexican food because it's usually not flavorful and the cooks always manage to mess up my order. I was extremely surprised by the flavor packed into each of their menu items. From the enchiladas to the fish tacos everything was amazing. The food even tasted perfectly after being delivered! I just don't understand how every mediocre Tex mex place has 3-4 stars, it's like if they bring you chips and salsa you automatically have a bunch of people that will give you 5 stars. Quick tips: When you couldn't resist the urge for discount Burberry and Yurman and your trek around the Cypress outlet mall has made you so hungry that you can't get back to the city, then try Las Mananitas! Great fajitas and good queso. Food: The fajitas for two give you a good portions of meat and accompaniments including guacamole (always a treat to get guac without paying extra). I think the chicken was better than the beef, but my husband liked the beef a lot. The queso was a bit light but still had good flavor and came with those thick tortillas chips - not a fan, but I know people love them. They have a great green creamy salsa and a smoky red salsa that is hot (temperature and spice). Service: Surprisingly fast service. The kind of service that makes you wonder if they have everything just waiting to be brought out. Was literally 8 minutes between ordering, queso appetizer and fajitas.
