Shocker -- they make EVERYTHING here, including the desserts we selected from their bakery section and thought were really good!!! Given all the shortcuts that so many restaurants take, this place deserves a "5" just for the fact that they do make everything themselves. And our meal was really excellent as well and a very fair price. We started with a Cheese quesadilla and our special request to have onions in there as well. It was good. For brunch we ordered the $12 Concha French Toast because Mr. Picky has a sweet tooth. That is Concha bread soaked in vanilla bean custard, topped with caramel, toasted coconut, cinnamon, whipped cream and berries. Mr. Picky didn't even need the side syrup. I like savory items and I so ordered the El Valle which was also $12. Two cheese enchiladas which I topped with sunny side up eggs, served with white rice and refried black beans. I added seasoned ground beef into the enchiladas and that was an extra $2. I requested white cheese enchiladas, don't know if that was standard or not. I am not a huge bean lover, but I have to tell you that the refried black beans on that plate were delicious. Very filling dish, tasted really good and it was a great value. Brunch is served Saturday & Sunday from 9am-3pm. I think this is the best breakfast/brunch I've had in the past two years. Generous amount of food and I couldn't finish it all. They have a bakery section and we walked over to look and see what we wanted to have for dessert. We couldn't decide between the interesting-looking carrot cake, the praline cheesecake or flan on top of chocolate cake. So we ordered and shared all three! LOL. The food was good and the prices were moderate. Service was done by multiple wait staff. Almost everyone was extremely friendly professional and seem to care. We were impressed by the manager who came to ask us about our meal and experience. My first time here, you can tell it's a popular place. The service left a lot to be desired. I think they just got done with a rush when we got there. The bartender was our waiter and you could tell he was stressed. It took him awhile to come and take our order multiple times. He was really nice though. The mimosa flight was such a great deal... only $13 for 3 full mimosas, $5 for one by itself. The queso was ehh... kind of grainy and maybe a little burnt. I ordered the Chicken Biscuit with hashbrowns. The hasbrowns were dry and not seasoned. It was like no butter or grease was used either. Just raw potatoes on a grill. The chicken biscuit was decent. But it was supposed to come with bacon jam and it was left off. I had to ask and wait for them to bring it out. Then the biscuit was supposed to be a Cheddar biscuit, but it was just a plain biscuit. The restaurant itself was super clean. When I went to the restroom. One employee was cleaning the sinks and doing like a deep clean, it was good to see that they were cleaning so well. I ordered a sparkling guava drink & my DIL ordered a drink with blackberries. They were both delicious. We also ordered a couple of mix fajitas for one, chicken enchiladas and tacos al carbon mixed. The food and service are always exceptional. Today was our first visit later in the day and everything was just as good. Brunch is served until 3PM, so half of our party had breakfast items and the other half had lunch items. All of it was great except the Queso Flameado. It was so stretchy that it was almost inedible. I've had this dish at other restaurants and the cheese is somewhere between melted mozzarella consistency and a queso consistency. This was more like melted mozzarella--we struggled to get it out of the bowl and into our tortillas because it was so stretchy. We needed scissors to cut it. Lol. I'm not sure why this restaurant got 4+ stars. Maybe it's mostly for dinner. We went here for brunch today and will not go again for brunch. The hostess was very "bitchy" as my husband put it. No smile and seated us with an attitude. First tried to seat us by the door when 80% of the restaurant was empty. When we insisted on sitting somewhere else, we were seated with an attitude. The server was nice and took our orders promptly. I ordered a decaf coffee and quite honestly it was the worst coffee I have ever had. We then ordered chicken and waffles, chicken biscuit, and the Mexican omelette. Everything came out looking beautiful, but the taste was bland. There were no salsa sauce or ketchup with anything. Had no idea this gem of a Tex Mex restaurant was just over the 290 bridge from where we live. Found out about them in a facebook promotional ad. Boy ole boy we are so glad we did. The restaurant is family owned who also owns Dario's Steakhouse and Alicia's Mexican Restaurant. As you can see in the photos the food is as good as it looks! The taco salad with fajitas meat was so delicious as the meat was tender and very flavorful. I could have used one more piece of meat. We didn't get to try anything from the bar but plan to another time. From what we could see the drinks looked very inviting. The service was so on point. The staff were very attentive and nice. We love the atmosphere hospitality and ambiance as it offers a little of everything bringing something different to the Cypress area. We need this in our life. Food is excellent. Great local haunt; quality is on par with Alicia's (another great local restaurant worth checking out!), but I feel like Galiana's has an edge due to their fantastic service. For a first time I'd recommend the Ribeye guacamole and the fish tacos or the fajitas. Their agave bar is comprehensive, and they regular have tequila and/or mezcal flights that are always fun if you are in the mood to try something new. Ask for Carlos! I said they could just bring a side of beans. Overall, it was a bit bland. But I also only ordered nachos, so the next time, I will try something different. The food tasted ok but was served cold. I was with 6 co-workers and it took a while for our food to come out even though there were only 4 other tables sat. I ordered the Carne Tampequeña. The cheese enchilada had grated cheddar inside a corn tortilla that was coagulated and hardening. The guacamole and pico that was supposed to be on the plate was not there. The waitress said she'd be right back with it but it never came. The fajita meat seemed to have a good flavor but seeing as it, too, was cold, I only ate 2 bites. Likewise, the charro black beans were cold. I didn't send it back to the kitchen because I did not want to be THAT person complaining. I took my whole plate--minus the gross enchilada--in a to-go box and made sure that I asked the waitress to make sure my to-go container finally had the guacamole and pico. Your mouth alone will have more spasms than two virgin couples on a honeymoon. We order the Sopa de Pollo, and the chili relleno with beef, which the wait staff was not very informed about addons, so he have to come back a few time to mention that the addons are extra, which he could have stated that when we were ordering, but that is O.K. maybe he is new. Now comes the food, the soup was O.K. don't come with rice or lime. Just very plan looking soup, they did put a lots of shredded chicken in the soup that was the good, but the soup was very salty, I eat very salty and for me to say they are very salty. believe me they are. My friends chili relleno was also very salty and the beans they used was black bean so the plate looks a bit different. Also nothing else comes with the meal, no tortilla and no other sides as a normal Mexican restaurant normal have. Just a bit different, like the tortillas they have to make when order? which is good in a way, but not so good in way. You have to wait a while and the meal is getting cold. When the tortilla arrived it is a black tortilla? I don't ever recalled any tortilla that I had is black, but it is O.K. nothing strange about the taste. The meat was marinated, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I could not stop talking about it to friends, family, and coworkers. I can do nothing but give this place 5 stars!! From the moment you walk in the door until you leave. We were greeted upon walking in the door with the friendliest smile and greeting. The restaurant is not very big but it has a nice welcoming ambiance. The waitress was very nice and had great customer service. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and thick and the salsa was homemade and spicy. The salsa did not lack seasoning!! We ordered the chicken flautas. The meal came with 2 chicken flautas with a tomatillo sauce on top with tomatoes and lettuce. The dish also came with refried black beans and rice. These were the best chicken flautas I ever had. The chicken was so moist and seasoned well, it was not chunky dry shredded chicken. I just couldn't get over how moist and delicious it was.
