Las Maracas, located on Gallatin Pike in Madison, is your standard Tex-Mex restaurant that servers all your favorites and even a few specialties, all for a decent price. As with any spot of this nature, their margarita and beer specials are always on point. In addition they do have a pretty stocked bar, so if one of those isn't what you want to wash down your enchiladas, then I am sure they got you. Parking for most places in this area of Gallatin Pike is pretty limited, so having a dedicated lot with a solid amount of spaces is nice here. There is a few overflow spots next door when it gets too full. Condition wise, Las Maracas has seen better days. Many of the booths are ripped, several ceiling tiles are damaged and stained, flooring is caked with worn in dirt and a bit of tables are wobbly. Food wise we have sampled a variety of things from the combinations, chilaquiles, burritos, quesadillas and of course the cheese dip. Food is standard, which is not a bad thing. It is exactly what we are after and what we expect each time we come here. Service is always hit and miss here, more so miss. We have been here three times now and not one time could be described as having "good" service. Overall, Las Maracas is a decent spot. Not the worst, and far from the best. read more

I never give a one star review but they broke a golden rule. I asked if I could have chorizo tacos and not chicken. Chorizo was offered on the menu but was not included as a taco option and being a lover and frequent buyer of chorizo I know it is not an expensive meat product. This location never fails to satisfy. My waiter listened throughly to what I wanted as I made very specific requests. Fresh Chips and Salsa arrived on the table as I sat down. I got the frozen house margarita that was perfectly mixed and Chimichangas with Chicken. The food was exactly what I wanted. I had a birthday lunch here at this location of Las Maracas. My party had multiple problems with the food orders, margaritas and drink orders. I had to ask the server multiple times for a refill and to just simply bring water. No silverware , I had to request this. I have no complaints for my food. But this post is to specifically address my guests concerns and the actual service. My friend was told to get up from her seat and go talk to the manager at the checkout counter after she was unsatisfied with her strawberry mango margarita on the rocks . She was ignored many times by our server when she complained that the drink was watered down and nasty. Another guest at my table got served the wrong drink and the server could not understand her wants to change the flavor. Her food also came out wrong and manager told her "it comes how it comes off of the menu". My friend specifically told the server "chicken and cheese quesadilla". She did not explain that peppers come automatically in the chicken. This is something that should be explained when ordering. I won't be back and I'm really sad that my birthday lunch could not have been better. read more

As far as bulk, affordable Mexican goes, Las Maracas is among the best in Middle Tennessee. This location has seen its share of businesses but I'm glad to see the Las Maracas chain land here. Parking is a bear during busy times. Make sure you don't park next door at the bookstore. They tow often there. The food is consistent and the prices are great. Two of my favorites are: 1) Quesadilla Gigante with either chicken or with shrimp and bacon 2) Chicken Fajitas - I always ask for added mushrooms in that one as it makes the flavor even greater (if you like mushrooms). To me, pretty much all Mexican restaurants are the same. Similar decor, similar staff, similar food, etc. This place was pretty much what I expected but loses a star or 2 for a few reasons. 1) a weird smell in there, kind of mothball/old lady-ish 2) our waiter was literally trying to get our drink orders before we were all seated 3) we needed a minute to look over the menu and he was lurking in the corner and kept looking at us like he was in a hurry and we were taking too long 4) the first couple bites of my taco tasted weird....right as I was about to give up and send it back the next bite tasted normal so I continued to eat it. I liked the chips. They were hot, thin, and crispy. Salsa was good, too. We had a lot of extra queso left over and he offered to bring us a to-go container and extra chips to take home and that was nice. I also liked the fact that I felt completely comfortable in there in no make up and not very cute clothes that I had been cleaning in all day. But really, is that a good thing?? The drinks specials are sa-weet! They also have dinner specials. Overall I liked my food because the portion size wasn't overwhelming but the beans were uber salty. The service was on the ball and the price easy on my wallet. I will say I like the Madison Las Maracas better than the Inglewood location. The inside is divided into two separate rooms and they have a parking lot behind the restaurant. You can't really see it from the road so keep driving until you get behind the building. read more

I love the staff. They are funny and friendly. The food is quick and good.

I found the food quite average. I had chile relllanos, normally meatless, but this was stuffed with ground beef. The guacamole appeared to be processed : Mushy and lacked flavor. The shrimp Cocktail was very good with lots of fresh avocado and cilantro. Not sure why that same effort does not go into the guacamole. Service was swift and friendly. Yikes. Ordered lunch takeout today, just a shredded chicken quesadilla and cheese dip. I waited for my order and went straight home, one mile away. I get home to find that my quesadilla showed zero evidence of being on a grill. It was soggy to boot. I have to stick it in a pan myself for it to be edible.
