Horrible service, the girls working there give you a nasty attitude! They seem to dislike talking to other women. I was in line and there was an older guy in front of me, who had already ordered, and the TWO cashiers were flirting with him, and laughing and having a full blown conversation while the line was getting bigger. I waited 20mins to order and that's bc I said something. I asked if they had tamales, she literally said idk you go check at the glass door. I'm like excuse me?! I don't work here girl! I then asked what kind were they and she said she didn't know!!!! Like, she should know! She works there! She casually said chicken so I ordered them and ended up being g sweet tamales! The whole process was horrible. I was asking about menu items and she seemed annoyed I was even asking ‍. If they don't want to work, they shouldn't. My dad loves this place and invited me to try it out. There was a ton of parking spaces surrounding the building. The inside was clean and nice. They had such a big menu! You can try a wide variety of things here. I went with a torta with yuca fries to go. The food is fairly priced, especially considering how much you get. For example, a torta can easily be split between 3 people. I think it was a bit too dense for a dinner but I was happy to have leftovers. Sadly no more Taco Thursday deal and there is an up charge on the tacos now. Besides that, these tacos were as authentic as they can get. Flavorful and delicious! Packed with plenty of proteins and cilantro, as well as limes and radishes for the toppings. Just 4 tacos got me full. Ask for the salsa verde! If I can give zero stars I would but since I can't I'll just say it. 0 stars!!! I've been here the past two days because I usually have gone to the different location and it was yummy and everyone was so sweet... this location? Where can I start ? The cashier was nice the first day but my boyfriend's food the first day came out with a weird shell and a leaf ... in chicken tacos .. but he didn't have it until the next day while I was at work and waited until I was home to tell me about it. So me thinking it came out good when I got off work I came again to try it myself and it was dry, nasty and lacked flavor. I threw the rest away. The cashier this day really was lucky I was exhausted from work because she and her other staff gave off the worst customer service. DONT come here if you want authentic food and genuine customer service. I hope they see this too and remember who I was :)! Só. Freaking. Good. I had been craving Mexican food and I decided to check this place out. It has a wide variety of food to choose from. They have a lot of meats but no seafood. No fish. No shrimp. I'm not big on that but my friend who was with me doesn't eat meat and that's how we learned of the no seafood. I ordered the Tijuana torta. My bf got a torta with bacon on it. It looked divine. My friend opted for sopas, elotes, and a side of fried plantain. She also got a back of burger flavored Takis. They tasted just like a burger. You can taste the layers of the burger which was awesome.,They forgot the plantain so we had to go back to pick it up. They made a new hot batch as well. The staff is super friendly as well. The food was nice and hot. The fries were delicious! The tortas are the size of my face. I gotta big head so it's huge. I'm currently fasting so I devoured the whole thing. Otherwise, I may have saved 1/2 for today. I highly recommend this place and I will be back for sure. They also have a bakery section and tons of drinks to choose from. You want Mangonadas? Great no-frills Mexican food. I had a good feeling once I walked in and saw a crowd in the dining area. The store has a large overhead menu right above the register. The temperature inside the store was a bit high for my liking, luckily the weather was great so we sat outside. We order the Jarocha torta, elote loco, and 3 tacos - lengua (tongue), rajas and carnitas. The torta, an overstuffed sandwich, was just that and could easily be shared between two. You can not go wrong with any of the tacos and the elote, Mexican corn, was amazing! I am looking forward to trying more of their menu from sopes, flautas, and their vast selection of desserts/pastries. So far best tacos I've had in Charlotte until right now. I always order steak tacos and each tacos are $1.99 no matter wether you want steak, chicken, spicy pork, or carnitas. This place don't look that good from outside tho but don't underestimate their food because it's so yummm. They serve authentic Mexican food here and u won't be disappointed if anyone want to try. I ordered La Mera Tijuana that is packed with chorizo, steak, cheese, jalapeños, lettuce and tomatoes. Let's not forget the side of fries and fresh Jamaica juice to round out the order. Best Mexican food we've had since we moved to Mecklenburg County 13 months ago. About as authentic as it gets. The restaurant interior is shabby and run down but that's what I expect from great Mexican restaurants, so no points deducted for that. They didn't have chips and salsa, or even Pico de Gallo. I thought that was a little strange but the quality and flavor of the food made up for any disappointment we felt not munching on chips. The only thing that kept this restaurant from getting 5 stars was their sanitation rating - as of today, it was C/77. I had the Cubano, Jamon and steak cemita, and tortas ahogada. They are all a form of sandwich. Overall average taste. The breads are soft. I like the tortas ahogada, which is dipped in salsa. They have a salsa bar with varieties of salsas and fixing for tacos. Personals are very nice. Place is clean. Lots of choices including burritos, tacos, ice cream, variety of Hispanic fruit cups, sope, huaraches, ice cream, and empanada desserts. They also have a few options that you can create your own meal with three types of meat and sides including beans rice and sweet plantain. Likely will come back to try other items. This is how you know you're eating authentic mexican food; we came here for lunch and had our typical meal, torta! I was impressed with the diversification of the place, the place is divided in areas, each presenting a specific specialty; the most visible at the entrance ia the snacks, there are typical Mexican snack such as mangoneadas, bionicos, prepared elotes, fresas con crema, raspados, tostilocos among other classics. The end space to the left is a an area on the side with only sweet bread and torta, telera and bolillo bread as well! Of course the signature mexican flan and chocoflan with flavored jello next to them. Last to the right side of the business is the restaurant side of the place, this simple and yet brilliant operation serves signature dishes such as menudo on the weekends, chicharrones con chile dish, tamales, taquitos, picadillo and the cherry on top, fried sweet plantain! Tortas, burritos, sopes, flautas, tacos and more, overall this place blew my mind! It is a humble locale and the employees are unassuming and efficient, when letting the waitress know I was taking pictures for yelp, she said she did not know what yelp was, lol! I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, and finally decided to eat here on 4/11/2018. The Cashier/Server(?) had a very bad attitude. I ordered a torta de asada.. and right off the batt i told her i did not want any onions, mayonnaise, and jalapeños. i asked her what else comes in the torta and she told me a side of fries.. i repeated my question "what else comes in the torta" she said carne asada.. which is OBVIOUS because that's the one i chose. then i ask her AGAIN what comes in it.. then she says avocado. i told her i don't want avocado either. like 10 minutes later i get my order... and my torta has jalapeños in it. I have been looking for a Real Authentic Mexican place in Charlotte and I have found it. The amazing staff does not speak any English so please come prepared with Google Translate if you need help ordering food. The menu descriptions are in English. This is a fast casual style restaurant. They offer papusas, flautas, tacos, burritos, Tortas, and more. The Tortas on the menu are named "las Chidas" but they are in fact the Mexican sandwiches. They offer a red and green sauce/salsa. They are spicy but so tasty. I recommend the orange rice! Yum! They also offer catering and with their very affordable prices, I would recommend them. I have used them for a work luncheon and they did a very well organized job. I come here often for lunch and sometime pick up dinner on the way home. My workmates and husband are also very big fans. They offer a variety of Mexican meats and the flavors are bold and delicious! Today they even had tacos on special for $1 today so I will keep a look out for that again. Normally they are $1.90.
