It's cinco de Mayo and I was in Parker for an appointment nearby. The appointment was late so stopped in for some quick take out. I got the tacos de carne adobada- a traditional, Mexican favorite with diced marinated pork cooked in their unique bread chili sauce, served with fried onions and cilantro. It's a pretty extensive menu with lots of house specialties, different appetizers, tons of seafood options, a variety of combination plates, breakfast, and of course, breakfast burritos to go all day long. They have been in business since 1993 and it looks like it's a local park favorite. While waiting for my takeout it's always really busy with customers coming in and out for takeout and Cinco de Mayo lunch specials. There is seating at the bar near the front door. Met up some friends in the area to try out los volcanes. Was craving some no frills comfort Mexican food. This restaurant offers fast service, food came out in no time, and the service is what expected; they get to you when they get to you. The food is promptly served, and they have an extensive menu. Something for everyone! They also have a wide variety of specialty drinks, and their classic margaritas hits the spot after a long day of work. When one of my sons took us there, I was surprised that, hidden among other small places, there was this small restaurant, unpretentious but with excellent food. Run by a ma-pa family for many years. It used to be a fave. Then the service really slipped and then the food quality took a dive. They cheapened the tortillas so much the tostadas are always falling apart as well as the tacos and the chips are not as good. The tacos have half the filling and the beans went tasteless. The margs were a nice pour and now they are a very light pour. However all the prices went way up. Sad to see the changes. read more

We stopped in for dinner Friday night as this was the only Mexican food restaurant left in Parker we had not tried. I'm summary, we have no need to return. We were greeted and sat right away and served chips and salsa. The salsa was unoriginal and tasted store bought. I looked around and noticed it to be quite empty, which in Parker, on a Friday night at 4:45pm is wild! Places are usually lines out the door. We got our food orders very quickly. Nothing on my plate was good, enchiladas, taco, tamale all were bland and boiling. Due to the taste of the food and the speed in which it all came out it felt very premade and bulk/cafeteria. It also took FOREVER for our server to come back with our check and even longer to get payment. It was uncomfortable and we started looking around to see if we had to go somewhere to pay. I saw multiple servers and only 4 other tables so I am unsure what was the holdup. Again, everyone was polite as we walked out but that food and slow service were both deal breakers. read more

Wow! A rather unpretentious storefront in a strip mall in Parker ended up being a very pleasant surprise! We were craving Mexican, but didn't feel like driving into Denver. This place is much bigger than it looks from the outside. There's a cute little bar tucked to the right when you enter, and then three rooms of seating. The vibe is family-friendly. We ordered the queso fundido to start, and it was GREAT. There was a lot of chorizo on the bottom of the dish, but no puddle of grease. A thick, bubbly, browned layer of cheese covered the top, baked to gooey, chewy perfection. This is our new standard for queso fundido! I had the tacos al carbon. Three generous tacos, accompanied by avocado. The steak wasn't particularly seasoned, but the sauce that came with the tacos took care of that. Yum! I poured it over the little salad garnishing the plate, too. BF had three burritos (beef, chicken, and bean) smothered in cheese. He said they were delicious. Service was friendly, efficient, and competent. Drinks and water were refilled, our food arrived hot, and the restaurant was very clean. We'll be back! read more

Meh. We were hankering for some cheesy Mexican dishes, and ordered a couple of combo plates. I had a taco, avocado tostado, relleno and enchilada plate. The enchilada was bland, and I don't know how you can mess up a ground beef taco, but it was awful. The shell was soggy and fell apart. The relleno was okay, but was cold by the time we got it. The best item was The avocado tostada. We ordered takeout, and I waited five minutes before someone came to help me with my order. The place wasn't busy, so I'm not sure what they were doing. My first visit to this establishment for Dinner. I'm of the belief that we all have different experiences based on our interpretation of the food and service when eating at restaurants. First, the staff....I'm tellin' ya, we moved to Colorado 5yrs ago from Texas. To date, this place was the friendliest of all! Not kidding, there's an older gentleman who walks the floor assisting the waitstaff, he walks by asking if he can get anything, but being a conversational type of patron, I took the opportunity to kid with him a bit. To my surprise, he returned the favor with some witty reply and caught me by surprise. While it's certainly not a necessary part of a good meal, he immediately made us feel welcome and he kept us smiling the entire visit. The waiter was fantastic too. In all, 3 members of the staff kept checking on us without interrupting us. Super kind and attentive! Really enjoyed the witty conversation with the kind gentleman. The food...excellent! The menu....full of variety! Again, that's our interpretation. My family enjoyed every bit of it and left none to take home. It was all very good and a large party of 8-10 next to us seemed completely satisfied too. As new patrons, we listened to them as they ordered a variety of dishes, looking for ideas, but in the end, we chose combination plates and look forward to returning for a second visit! read more

My husband has talked about their breakfast burritos forever so I was glad we were finally able to get takeout last weekend. We ordered the small breakfast burrito (even told them we didn't want the grande burrito when we ordered ) BUT still ended up with the Grande Burrito. We ordered one with bacon and one with chorizo. Both were delicious and stuffed with tons of ingredients. They were so big I was able to get more than one meal out of mine. Our boys had the French Toast - one with bacon & sausage. They enjoyed it but wish it had come with syrup - but that was because we had a breakfast picnic. We will definitely be back both for breakfast and to try their lunch/dinner menu. read more

Oh hell no! My son told me not to go there (after 3 visits!) but I had to try it for myself! I was craving a breakfast burrito. Very inexpensive. 3.89 + $2 for steak + .50 for onions. First it took foreeeever! The guy who came in after me (2burritos/horchata) received his order first. And I kept waiting and waiting. As the price indicates, it was very small, very. I saw her put the steak on to cook and viewed many chunks of white...fat. Biting into it, most of the meat had either fat or grizzle. I had to spit a lot of it out. The potatoes might as well have been listed as "mashed"! The whole thing was just, mush! My son tried a variety of food, giving them 3 chances. Unfortunately, each time was very disappointing ("Don't go there" he said). I should have listened! read more

An excellent Mexican food restaurant. Food was reasonably priced flavorful and I might add they had the very best fried ice cream that I've ever had. If you're ever in Parker a Denver reccomended Place plus the restaurants big enough to handle large parties. I also must add I left my debit card on the way out. Check this out they have such a great service a waitress who wasn't even attending to me noticed it grab it and chased me all the way down outside to hand it to me. I cannot recommend Los Volcanes highly enough. I wish I could give them 10 stars. I visited about a month and a half ago for my dad's birthday. Their menu is huge, at least 7 pages, and they serve breakfast as well. Their prices were extremely reasonable - I saw barely any items that were over $12. I think our group of 5 had dinner and nonalcoholic drinks for roughly $60 before tip, which is pretty rare these days. The restaurant is large and it wasn't overly crowded when my family and I walked in. We were seated right away. I don't remember our server's name, but she had a big smile, dark hair worn in a bun, and pretty earrings. She was very sweet and helpful throughout the meal. That brings me to the food! My meal was phenomenal. Absolutely delicious. I had a combination plate with a beef taco, bean burrito, and cheese enchilada. I am a huge fan of red sauce, so I asked for my burrito and enchilada to be smothered in only red sauce. The sauce was delicious. It had a definite chile flavor, as well as a kick while not being too spicy. It was a generous amount of food. I was definitely full, but not overly stuffed. I like that the meal had a big garnish consisting of lettuce, tomato, and onions. You hardly ever see onions as a garnish at Mexican restaurants, and often you just get a tiny amount of lettuce and tomato on the very edge of the plate. Not at Los Volcanes! My family enjoyed their food as well. Three of us hadn't been to Los Volcanes before that night, and we honestly all had our socks knocked off by the friendly service and amazing food. This is the only place I'm going for Mexican food in Parker from now on! read more
