Extremely disappointed- excited to eat after a long trip into Las Vegas. I came here for the first time today hoping for some authentic Salvadoran comfort food, but unfortunately, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. The pupusas were a major disappointment. They were incredibly dry and had barely any cheese inside. It felt like I was just eating plain masa. For the Caldo de Res the broth was practically water--no flavor, no seasoning, just incredibly bland. To make matters worse, the meat was so tough it was nearly impossible to cut, let alone chew. We found rotten vegetables in the caldo. When we pointed this out to the staff, they didn't apologize or offer a fresh bowl; instead, they tried to justify it by saying "that's just how we got it from our produce provider." That is not an excuse for serving spoiled food to customers. I ordered a medium horchata salvadoreña, but the cup they brought out was tiny. As you can see in my photo, it's actually smaller than the salsa bottle on the table. After paying for the meal, they charged extra just for asking for spicy salsa to go with the pupusas. Between the poor food quality, the lack of accountability regarding the rotten ingredients, and the strange portion sizes, I won't be coming back. The plantain (chef's kiss) but how could you mess that up. And the rice and beans. I forgot what that mixture is called. My only improvement is I would add a bit salt to the rice and beans but thats okay. It wasnt deterred to enjoy my meal. The pupusas: I got the mixed bean, rice and cheese pupusas. The Pupusas comes with the "curtido" like a pickled cabbage slaw and a mild red salsa. Pairs great with a "Mexican" Bottled Coke. Service is always great and food is brought out in a timely manner. The Pupusas are made to order in house, so just know they will always be fresh. They do charge a $0.99 fee if you use a card to pay so if you don't want that charge, have some cash handy. If you never had Pupusas this is definitely a great place to try it out. The best way for me to explain it is that it's like a quesdilla but instead of tortilla, they use masa which is similar to a tamale. We just got the plain cheese pupusas which is a really good dish for a cheese lover like myself. I believe they use Oaxaca cheese and it has a great pull and chewy texture. The Yuca and Chicharon is a good side dish to eat with this dish as it gives you a different flavor and texture to compliment the pupusas. The plantanos (plantains) is also a really great dish as it is a really interesting flavor that mixes sweet and savory in one bite. Other than the food, the only bad part about this place is that it can smell a little like sewer (which is unfortunately common in Las Vegas). The service was good, but it was also pretty slow. But that is because they're making the pupusas from scratch. So make sure you order an appetizer along with your pupusas so that you have something to eat while waiting for your pupusas. read more

However, they charge like $1 each for very small sauce containers of salsa and they don't tell you this before filling the containers. I think $1 per container is a little excessive especially when you had a big order of pupusas. Something to keep in mind before asking for hot sauce/salsa. I think we'll check out other pupusa spots and see how they compare and if they also charge for salsa. read more

Second, they never ever skimp out on the cheese, and third, they are always so so so tasty. We've been going to this restaurant since it opened years ago. Initially it was an amazing place as the food was delicious, my children loved the pupusas, and it was fairly inexpensive. We put up with the horrible service since we needed a non fast food place where the kids would eat. We dined in this Sunday to realize they added a "mesa grande" or "large table" fee on my check. I wasn't notified of these extra $6.92 and I had an average party of 4. I was okay with paying an extra .99 cents to use my debit card but adding an incorrect fee without my knowledge or authorization seems like a robbery and crime. Please check your receipts immediately after paying as they have these hidden fees that weren't only added to my check but the person that paid after me as well. We are so glad we did because this is probably some of the best pupusas we've ever had! They're moist, huge, and delicious! I usually order the mixed pupusa with sour cream on the side. Their spicy salsa that usually comes with the Carne asada burrito is really good too! The Carne asada burrito is huge and heavy!
