Cartel Tacos is easily one of the best Taquerias I've been too especially coming here from SoCal. The food was bomb, and I already know I'll be coming back here instead of going anywhere else for tacos. 10/10. The prices were also very affordable compared to other taco spots, so I really hope they keep their prices where they're at! The only crazy part was that the ceiling actually fell/ deteriorated on the people in line in front of us! From what I saw, the owner made things right with them, which I respect. Hopefully they get the ceiling issue fixed so it doesn't happen again. Other than that, great food and great customer service!definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone and everyone. 10000/10 this is my new taco spot.

Another taqueria serving grilled chicken in the middle of nowhere on Russell? Do "tel." Cartel Tacos is a taco spot situated behind another Mexican restaurant on the southwest corner of Russell and Pecos. I happened to see them on Yelp while scrolling through the list of Henderson-ish restaurants and figured they'd be worth a shot. The menu is largely based on tacos and adjacent items. There are loaded fries and a quesadilla option too, but no burritos. I'd been eyeing the Combo ($14.99) already, three tacos and one agua fresca, and the employee who greeted me explained that I can get any choice of proteins, up to 3 separate meats with that. She also let me sample the two available aguas frescas. While the Horchata was rich and sweet yet balanced enough that I could've easily picked it, I went with the Jamaica to get that refreshing, floral, less creamy aspect. It's also fairly sweet but not too bad, by the way. For the tacos, I did end up with the full variety. The Pollo Al Carbon has nice grilled but not burnt notes and is quite tender. The Chorizo is intense but not too salty and has plenty of the desired warming spices. The Asada is pretty tender albeit not spectacular in flavor on its own. The tortillas are all handmade, and in addition to cilantro and onions, you get a complimentary serving of guac and some sort of mild tomato paste-looking salsa. And you can get complimentary grilled onions and pepper when ordering at the register to level up your tacos. Even considering all of those toppings, you should definitely dive into the complimentary salsa and toppings bar. Fresh radish and cucumber slices can temper something like the chorizo, limes and pickled onions are always fun, and the three salsas range from mild to hot. Oddly enough, the orange salsa was my favorite due to the flavors even though it also kicked my palate's proverbial ass the most, while the brown-ish one was pretty decent and the tomatillo was the simplest. The tacos were pretty standard taqueria / street taco size, so I wouldn't have filled up for dinner without the Mini Torta ($6.99), which really is about half the size of the absent full-sized version and comes just as loaded. The square sandwich is the perfect size for a slice of cheese, and the guac and red paste are also present. Of course I chose the final of the four proteins for this, adobada. It's sadly not a nice Tijuana al pastor since pineapple is not included, but I really had a great sandwich experience with the moderate flavor and tenderness regardless. Even without a lot of the toppings, actually. The restaurant felt quite clean overall. Despite the heavily AI art, I thought the decor was pretty modern. The music was relatively approachable except for one song that have served as a Spanish language equivalent to a "Closing Time." Definitely check out Cartel Tacos if you live within 20 minutes of them. It is one of the best Tijuana-style taco spots around, and definitely better 9 times out of 10 than my last visit to that one overcrowded popular chain that's on and off the Strip and is priced even higher than these guys. You know which one I mean.

YUMMY! Coming from SoCal, Vegas did not impress me with their tacos ... but FINALLY I can say I found a spot I can easily choose to get tacos from. Please get on DoorDash! Haha We sort of stumbled upon this place while we were getting food for the office with my coworker. They were grilling outside and the smell just pulled us in. Couple days later we decided to get some food from Cartel tacos and it was as I imagined! They knew what they were doing. The tortillas, WOW so soft and delicious. The meat was seasoned thoroughly and the roasted salsa just sealed the deal! Not sure how the service is but my coworkers had no issues so I'm going guess it was fine. I can't wait to bring my husband to try this place. Currently they have a combo deal where you get 3 tacos and 1 drink, I got their HUGE AHH horchata and drank that for 2 days in the office haha

After seeing this place being hyped in Tik tok I had to come try this for myself and left disappointed. Upon arriving the cashier was taking a phone order so I was waiting about 8 minutes for her to finish only to realize there was 2 kiosk that I could've ordered from. I ordered a taco del Pastor and a Carne Asada quesadilla. The El Pastor meat was not chard and as for the quesadilla, there was more cheese than meat on it. The corn tortillas were so soggy that my food was falling apart with every bite. They have multiple options of aguas frescas on their menu but only had horchata and Jamaica while I was there.

As a self proclaimed taco king cartel tacos was absolutely fabulous. The level of expertise they bring to taco making is incredible. The tortillas are the possible best I've ever had. some of the outstanding Tacos was the one with Chili in it. The quesadilla was spectacular. The chorizo was unbelievable. This may be one of the top three taco shops in the whole state. I wish them continued success. Customer Service was on point. The place was very clean. Their Salsa's were perfectly blended with full flavor and spice. I have no idea why someone would post that they had no flavor. They obviously must not know about Salsa. Cartel Tacos is a wonderful addition in the taco infrastructure of Las Vegas Vegas. I wish them lots of success.

I'm only giving it 4 stars because it was pretty hot inside, but the food was AMAZING! Otherwise, this would definitely be a 5-star review. The tacos were absolutely delicious, and the salsa was a 10/10! I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place. Honestly, this might be my new taco spot! Service was great the cashiers are very friendly and we were served quickly.

This place serves some outstanding food, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. A manager even stopped by several tables throughout our visit to make sure everything was excellent, which was a nice touch. Cost: My biggest complaint is the pricing. It's a little on the expensive side, and they only offer one drink size--a massive 32-ounce cup--for $4.99. The tacos are around $3.99 each (plus tax), so the cost can add up quickly. Quality: Excellent. The quality of the ingredients, meats, and overall preparation really stood out. Everything tasted fresh and well-made. Taste: Very good overall. The tacos were delicious, especially the carne asada. The flame-grilled carne asada was perfectly seasoned and absolutely outstanding. The adobada tacos were also very good, although I've had slightly better versions elsewhere. Overall: In a incredibly expensive and competitive market this is one taco shop doing everything right & I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Prompted by the social media coverage, I decided to check out this new spot. While I miss the previous restaurant, I was excited to have Tijuana-style tacos in the area. The menu is somewhat limited in terms of protein choices, but I tried the carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo. The tacos themselves are quite good, though a wider variety of meats would be a great addition. Personally, I still prefer El Zarape for their broader menu selection, but this is a solid local option.

Came after seeing post on IG. Brand new Tijuana style taco spot a little way past the airport. Flame grilled carne asada is seasoned well and the adobada is also good! Freshly made tortillas, good selection of salsas and they have pickled onions. Got the 3 taco combo that came with a large agua fresa - they had horchata and jamaica. Overall a good new place to give a try!

They have a Loteria drinking game, with each card matching a drink on the menu. Fun idea, but when explained seemed confusing. The drink was ok, too sweet for me and a little small for the price. Menu highlights for me was The dirty corn, salsa flight, and my (2) taco plate. The dirty corn was a standout with elote-style corn in a bowl, topped with chicharron, chorizo, and spicy mayo. It delivers that street corn flavor, but with a good mix of textures and spice. My tacos were delicious. I tried one grilled shrimp taco and one carnitas taco, served with rice and beans. The blue corn tortillas were a nice touch and pillowy soft! The carnitas were amazing, great flavor and super tender. I shrimp tacos were just as good and when topped with their habanero, verde, and roja salsa, that heat and flavor depth gets elevated! Overall, it's a dependable neighborhood spot with a fun atmosphere, creative touches, and good food that makes it worth a visit if you are in the area!

It was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri added the best brightness that the dish needed! There are so many spots in Vegas so I'm not sure I'd come back but I definitely enjoyed it.

Every food item on the Happy Hour menu is $12, which makes it a great way to try a variety of dishes without spending a fortune in Vegas. We ordered the shrimp tacos, CHICA nachos, Firecracker Wings, quesa-birria empanadas, potato flautas, shrimp ceviche, and ahi tuna bites. Everything was absolutely delicious, and there honestly wasn't a bad dish in the bunch. One thing to keep in mind is that these truly are small plates. Don't expect a lot of food with each $12 dish. They're perfect for ordering several different things and sharing, but if you're really hungry, you'll definitely want to order multiple plates. The Firecracker Wings had a really nice kick to them. We loved the spice, but if you have a lower spice tolerance, be careful with those! Also, a heads-up about the shrimp ceviche: CHICA's version is more tomato-based rather than the bright, lime-forward ceviche you might be expecting. It was still really good, but if you don't like tomato-based ceviche, that's definitely something to know before ordering. For drinks, we tried the CHICA-Rita, Palomita, and Tommy's Margarita. They were running a 2-for-1 drink special for $21 total, which was such a great deal, especially for Vegas. Between the absolutely delicious food, fun atmosphere, and Happy Hour pricing, we really enjoyed CHICA. It's a great spot if you like ordering a bunch of small plates for the table and getting to try a little bit of everything.
