I first tried this restaurant when my job had our Christmas party here. The staff is nice and most waiters are bilingual. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. The parking is decent. The restaurant is in a strip center that houses other small businesses. The restaurant is small and cozy. Perfect for local family lunch and dinners. The restaurant has great natural lighting. The food is really good to me. They bring chips and salsa to the table. I have only gotten the Tampiqueña Dinner which comes with beef, but I added chicken to the dish. The meal comes with your choice of flour or corn tortillas, one cheese enchilada, rice, refried beans, with pico de gallo and guacamole. The pico and guacamole are always fresh. The portion size is more than enough food and I left with leftovers. The meal mentioned during lunch hours is $13.47. I wouldn't recommend their queso. The cheese is too watery and lacks flavor. No onion or rotel tomatoes were put in the queso for added flavor. Their Coca Cola drink is so good to me and was crisp. The soft drinks are $2.86 with unlimited refills. This restaurant also has a great lunch menu offered 7 days a week. For a local restaurant that is the closest thing to eating out within the surrounding area, I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I have started to come here almost once a week. They have great lunch specials. I like the cheese enchiladas, and my husband usually gets one of the combination lunch plates. We usually go in the late afternoon, and it's always pretty quiet. The service is friendly enough, and efficient.

    Strawberry Margarita for lunch....awesome

There is great QC, AND management, here. Julio's wife, Elena, stopped by the table and checked in the food. She also told us of a wrestling event that was coming up on May 1. She was SO pleasant. Our server, Freddy, got the order in perfectly, even though there were 7 of us. The prices were reasonable. The food again was spot on. We WILL return! BTW, the watermelon margarita was wonderful! TLDR: Thar food, those ritas. This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!

The horchata stood out right away, perfectly sweet and easily one of the best I've found in the city. I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos, which were solid, and the huevos ahogados with frijoles charros, both full of flavor and well-prepared. The empanadas were also great, especially the chicken and cheese, that one was my favorite. To finish, I tried the pan de elote, and it was excellent. Overall, a really strong breakfast experience with authentic flavors across the board. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

All of our items were fresh and delicious! I was enchanted by the atmosphere and presence of the owner and her family. We have already been back for a different special on this week's menu! We especially love the creamy poblano corn empanadas. We fought over one last time, but this time we each got our own. The waitstaff we have had both times is very sweet, but does not speak or understand English very well and was unable to really help us decide this second time, so we just took her recommendation. One of the items she recommended, the Huarachon, was not my favorite, but the other items were very good. We would have especially enjoyed some interaction with the chef-owner or the gentleman who seems to be her husband, since it did not seem very busy at the time, but they simply said "hello". Hopefully next time! And there will be a next time!
