I used to frequent a Laser Away in the bay area and never had any issues, so I was excited when this one in Folsom opened and decided to give it a try! While the staff, facilities, and treatment itself (IPL so far) have been good, scheduling has been a frustrating experience at this location. I have been cancelled and rescheduled on at least 3 times now by staff, which is annoying to say the least because there is so little availability for appointments in the first place (appointments are scheduled several weeks out). The first time I was rescheduled on, I didn't think anything of it and considered it a one-off. However the second and third time I have been asked to reschedule have left me feeling frustrated. The most recent cancellation was today with just a couple hours notice from Laser Away, citing that their IPL machine was receiving maintenance. Unfortunately, I think the long periods between treatments have been impacting my results, as I don't get consistent enough treatments to see a difference in my skin. With all the scheduling issues, booking treatments in the recommended 4-6 week intervals for IPL just isn't happening. While I am glad I tried out the space, I have found the organization needed to keep clients on a regular treatment schedule is lacking here. I am hoping they improve as they become more established in this area. read more

This location is too busy and un-accommodating. Staff is really unhelpful and the consultations are uninformative and they forget to mention a lot a stuff. I started my treatments very uninformed about watch to expect and the effects/results of treatments. They even gave me the wrong laser facial once. I would greatly recommend looking into other locations if you're planning on spending a lot of money at Laseaway, because you deserve to get your money's worth (packages are really expensive) It's also really hard to get on-time appointments during treatment sessions. At the start I loved coming here this is where I started my self care journey for my face and even venturing in to getting lip filler and laser hair removal. When I would check in I was always greeted by the most beautiful and friendly of staff. Checking in, my appointment experience, and checking out...the whole process from beginning to end was easy and fun. Where the unfortunate down turn was when I paid off my account I was looking into cool sculpting. My consultation was fast and easy and I was ready to go. I set up a payment plan for the pricy service but I knew it was going to be worth it. I made my first appointment and drove all the way down to be told I needed to lose weight. I had to rework my financials into different services and I left feeling upset. So I reworked my financials to continue doing lip filler and now trying laser hair removal! I was excited for laser hair removal that's what Laser Away is known for. I read the "pre" appointment and "post" appointment rituals and I did the best I could to meet those standards. When I arrived for my appointment and allowed myself to get vulnerable the nurse was very inconsiderate and "ugh'd" in frustration that she would try her best. Mind you this was my first time. Again I left feeling upset and requested to not see that specific nurse again and made my next appointment for Botox. I came upon an emergency as a caregiver and had to "same day" cancel my Botox appointment. In the fine print Laser Away is allowed to charge $100 which was totally understandable and I had no issue paying. Once again I ran into the same problem as a caregiver but the receptionist I spoke to on the phone was kind enough to work with me, made my appointment, and I would take care of any unnecessary charges when I would come in for my appointment. I came in to my appointment and I learned it was canceled. I was not told this over the phone and drove all the way from home to learn this. I took care of my late fee charges. I paid off $3000 of an account balance. I expressed to the receptionist better communication was needed and I left. I left upset and just never came back. I hope one day that would be different. My review timing is pretty late from when I was there but sometimes it takes a while to process such an upsetting experience. read more

I found that they were very insightful and professional, the facility is beautiful and the Groupon they are running is a spectacular deal. Their prices are definitely on the higher side, so I would suggest looking for promotions online. My first treatment of tattoo removal I can already see a slight difference, I am actually going in for my second treatment today as it is two months later. Third treatment will be another three months out, I am sure I will need at least six treatments, not certain that their laser is as strong as some of these other lasers out there, but the upside of that is there will be no scarring left behind. I believe that they do various kinds of laser treatments as well, obviously skin care being the focus. Definitely interested in getting some prices on all of their treatments. read more

I went to the Folsom location yesterday for the first time for clear and brilliant treatment . I was initially a bit nervous as I have melasma and wanted to make sure this was right for me. Went here for cool sculpting & what a scam! Please don't waste your money at this place. They have no bedside manner & no patient care. The treatments that were suggested for me were 4 sessions for my size, which is about 145 lbs & I'm 5'6. I told them my budget & they said they definitely thought I could see results within my budget and with 4 sessions. I paid almost $2500 for this, took close to 5 hours, was extremely uncomfortable during the "massaging of the fat cells" and lost days of sleep due to being uncomfortable beyond belief after the treatment. Not once did I receive a post op call, text, email, anything from anyone. When I called to ask if the extreme needle pain I was experiencing 1 week post visit was normal & if I should be concerned, I was told by the receptionist to just take an Advil. 3 months later, there are zero, I mean zero results. Not an inch lost, not down even 1 lbs. nothing! The post op pictures look just as they did the day I came in. I workout 4-5 days a week & eat healthy. I'm a mother of small children & was hopeful that cool sculpting would help me reduce the stubborn belly fat that won't go away with diet & exercise & it did not. When I asked for some sort of compensation... refund, partial refund, or even complimentary services they did absolutely nothing. They told me to come in for more treatments & pay more money. There was no compassion or empathy for my situation, time wasted, money lost, or anything at all. Don't have a cool sculpting nightmare here! Run!! read more

Got a fire and ice facial here and it was great! I was initially scared to get a laser treatment but it ended up being way less of a shock from other treatments I've had like brow waxing. The team explained the process fully to help ease any anxieties I had prior regarding the laser and use a cool air fan during treatments to minimize the heat. I was pleased with the results of the facial which were a smoother, brighter finish to my complexion and the clarity of my skin after was great for about a week and a half post treatment as well. I also love both the Come Clean cleanser and Facial SPF lotion they sell. The cleanser has a very calming and smooth formula and works well with my skin. I took the 50 SPF facial lotion to Mexico for a vacation and my face remained well shielded from the intense sun. Thankful to their sales rep Lindsay for showing me this duo! I NEVER write reviews, but I absolutely had to after my experience here. It's going to be long, but trust me it's worth it. I've been getting filler for the last decade, I've been many places and had an array of experiences, both good and bad. I've been a regular at a very upscale plastic surgeon's office for my filler up until last year when the injector changed technique and my results were never the same. I like lip injections, and I like them to be both noticeable but natural. Anyone that has the same aesthetic knows this is no easy task. I also have noticeable asymmetry to my face, so balancing my lips is definitely a challenge. Bianca was my injector, and she NAILED IT. She studied a photo of my desired look (one I had at previous injectors before technique change), and she completely exceeded my expectations. I will admit, I was extremely nervous going here for injections. I read a ton of reviews, and there aren't many about the injection services. There should be! My injections were a little more uncomfortable than I'm used to - but I also didn't follow the golden rule of no caffeine prior and had my morning coffee. I had two tiny bruises show immediately, so I was very worried. I have never had less swelling or bruising - ever. I went to work a couple hours later and normally I'm a total duck for the first 24 hours. My lips look amazing, best reaction I've ever had post filler. Bianca is a talent, I highly recommend her. The front office and booking employees were all extremely nice and welcoming, everything was very easy and pleasant. Clean and well kept facilities. I recently tried the new LaserAway location in Folsom at the Palladio Mall I have had a few treatments at one of the San Francisco locations and was very happy with myresults, so I was happy to hear they were opening a location near to Sacramento. The staff all seemed very nice and professional, especially the RN's who do the treatments. I had a Thermage treatment done which uses heat versus lasers to stimulate collagen production & rejuvinate the skin. This is a 2 hour treatment which would normally be done by one RN but because it's early days for this location I had the pleasure of interacting with 3 RNs, Jacklyn Mariam and Emily. They were all very gentle and caring and their approach and made me feel very safe and secure during the procedure. It's still early days as it normally takes 2 months to see results from this but I think my skin is already looking better! read more

Laser hair removal (face, armpits, Brazilian and legs) & Botox review: Just had my 4th session of laser hair removal with Nataliya. Each session the intensity increases and I've learned I'm more of a baby than I thought so I appreciated Nataliyas quick, expert session today! All the nurses have been very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and I can tell a significant difference in my hair growth on the treated areas, and I still have 4 more to go! I've also gotten my first Botox injections here. I believe it was 26 Units between my forehead and crowsfeet. They did a great job! I was nervous because I tend to flinch when anything touches my face without me knowing it's coming. I told my nurse and she did a little count down for me each time, easing my fears. My only warning to pale sunless tanning lovers like myself is that I have to wait until after summer to continue leg sessions because I always have sunless tanner residue on my skin which will cause your skin to burn with the laser. You have to be sunless tanner free for about 2 weeks prior to each session. I'd suggest waiting until pants weather if you're in the same boat as me. Overall, I've had a great experience at LaserAway and highly suggest! read more

I want to preface this by saying this may be more a reflection of the company not essentially the workers. Short version of my review: If as a company you do NOT have the staff to serve ALL the customers in a timely manner and give them the quality of care they all deserve (given the investment this is financially), then maybe it's best to take things slow with how many people you serve at a time. I've been going to this place for months now. My first experiences were amazing. The nurses were great and I felt I could trust them. Everything was going great up until early February when they expressed being really busy with several clients and didn't have availability. I was understanding. They were kind enough to schedule me a couple of weeks after the recommended 6-8weeks. My next appointment day came (in March) and a few hours I received a call saying they needed to cancel my appointment because they were short staffed and will call me back to reschedule. I again was understanding; things happen specially given the pandemic. I waited for a call to get my rescheduled appointment and it never happened. I had to call back and rescheduled it myself and this pushed out my already extended date more. By this time this put me into May. Once again this next appointment I had it was also rescheduled literally minutes before my appointment (i was already on my way there). So my appointment was rescheduled for the next day. I went in for my appointment and I expressed my concern that the hair growth had reverted back to what it was in the beginning because it had been so long since my last treatment. The person who was treating me this time (someone new to me) said they have been super busy. That was the end of that for me at that point. Then the laser hair removal began. It was so much more painful this time around. At first I thought it was because it was so long since my last time, but something felt off. My bikini area was the worst. Mind you this isn't the first time I'd been there, but my goodness was it excruciatingly painful. I needed to scrunch my fists, and even expressed how much it hurt. I would tell the nurse this and she would just say that she understood and tried to maybe it better by using the cold air to help with the pain. I walked out of the appointment in a lot of pain from my bikini area and my arms were more red than other times. Now a week later I have some concerns with some of my moles on my arms, which I'm also treating, and I notice my bikini area does not look like ever before. This may be TMI but it seems I was burned by the laser because there is what seems to be some scabbing. Similarly two of my moles in my arms felt and looked like they were scabbed. I called in to express my concern. They took my concern and then said I would get a call back to check with a nurse... it did not happen. I am feeling that although I may lose my money... I don't think I'll be continuing these treatments. In my opinion if you are just starting your treatments it may be worth asking what their availability looks like before investing you money. read more

I was really disappointed by the policy of the company, and their pricing. My husband bought a $1000 certificate for my Birthday from them. When I called them to schedule treatments they wanted to charge me extra $700 for three Brazilians, underarms, and lower legs. When I asked the representative why it is so expensive, they said that since it's a money on my account no promotions and discounts are applicable. That was unexpected from such a reputable company. My husband put those money on my account and paid in cash, what is the difference? I will finish my treatment and never come back here, as well as never recommend this company to my friends.
