When I arrived for my appointment, Francesca and Priscilla were very friendly and helped ease my nerves. They answered all my questions. My second time was great with Cecily. She was wonderful, so calm and professional. I hardly felt anything. Came here for my last laser session. Did a great job. Only downside was: my appointment was for 10am and I got there at 9:45, only to see they were closed. I was quite confused given yelp and google both say they open at 8am. Panicked slightly thinking they booked me on a day they were closed, and getting a new appointment within the same week is pretty much impossible. I waited around for 15mins and someone finally opened the door, but they should really either adjust the opening times online, or open slightly earlier so their clients aren't stuck waiting outside in the cold. read more

LaserAway as a whole is just wonderful. I have visited the South Beach, Tribeca, and Upper West Side locations. At each location the staff was extremely personable and attentive. I took advantage of their clear and brilliant treatment; I can not recommend it enough. My skin wasn't even that bad before hand (although an iPhone camera may say otherwise) but after the treatments there was nary a blemish on my face. They even allow you to see pictures from each session so that you can see that progress of the treatments. Francesca and Addontess at the Upper West Side location were simply darling and offered great skin care advice and encouragement. Before LaserAway, I didn't quite realize the difference a proper skincare routine can make. I'm glad I've seen the light! read more

NEVER. ON. TIME. If you are a busy professional, look elsewhere. My average wait time is 30 minutes and 3-4 people who arrive after me are taken in before me. I've also had appointments booked on the wrong day, only to show up for my "appointment" and be told I am actually booked for the next day. Other aspects of the business are okay, but the poor customer service, notably booking and wait times, are overwhelmingly bad. Keep in mind, this is coming from someone who bought multiple packages directly (far from a Grouponer), so I've had enough lived experience here to make an accurate assessment. I am looking forward to using up my packages and taking my business to another cosmetic/beauty provider that puts a premium on customer service. read more

I was excited to visit Laseraway since it was a new business that opened up in my neighborhood and would be convenient for me to visit to receive services. Making the appointment was easy since they offer online set up. My initial visit was for botox, so they set me up as a consultation appointment since it was my first time. The reason for my 2 stars is during my visit I felt pressured on purchasing the "clean and bright" facials which sound great but for almost $1,700 which included six facials. Which sounds great for someone that is interested in the service. I told the lady that was offering me these services that I have to think about it since my interest was the botox. She kept insisting for me to purchase after I kept saying no. But what really shocked me is when she said "we haven't had any sales today so you should buy this package". Lol, I automatically thought this was very unprofessional, and you should never pressure your potential customers to purchase services. I ended up canceling my future appointment and won't return or recommend this establishment. read more

Left and booked tat removal for following day and my experience was even better!! Was given numbing cream and again NO PAIN!! This is my second visit and again, the procedure is fine but you wait forever to be seen. When I was being sold the packages, I was told I'd be in and out in 15 mins. I've been in there for 45 mins each time. I waited 30 mins to go back. It's frustrating! Also, I was told last time when I wasn't thrilled that I'd be contacted and never was. I have a skin condition Lichen Planus. I am tan in colour but this skin disorder left dark pigmentation all over my body. I was always covered up and scared to show anyone my skin. I did Brazilian, happy trail and underarms today . The young lady helping me was "Liona" to get the procedure done. She made me feel absolutely comfortable. I struggled a lot with the whole process of laser hair removal. I bought a package deal many years ago after being told by multiple dermatologists that it was the only way I could prevent ingrown hairs. I found the laser hair removal process to be too painful and stopped going after two sessions. Six years later, I tried again because I felt like I wasted my money. I couldn't get a refund and that was incredibly frustrating. Rachel from LaserAway Upper West Side has the best customer service skills by far. She dug up my account info and looked into all the different ways I could use the package so my money wasn't wasted. She explained all my options to me. Though I'm not satisfied with my purchase and I do still wish I could have just gotten refunded, I am very satisfied with the staff and the results. I'm deciding to continue with my package for lower legs and underarms and I am just wasting the Brazilian. It's too painful and I love my pubic hair today. I don't want it removed. Turns out, I can prevent ingrown hair simply by rocking my bush! Ladies (and gents and anyone in between), much like with tattoos, please be sure this is what you want especially if you're spending the money on a package with multiple sessions. Maybe start off paying for one session at a time before making a big money decision. I have regret. read more

This place is completely unprofessional. I had a Groupon but wanted to see the place and staff before I used the Groupon. I told him this and they agreed to give me a tour of the facility. Then they asked to scan my Groupon just to show I was there. When I called Groupon to cancel it they told me that Laseraway indicated that I had used it. I recently had my first full leg, Brazilian and under arm combo that I purchased during the holidays. I am officially hooked! This location is all about efficiency. The consultation is very quick and they'll begin the process almost immediately if you'd like. The whole procedure took less than an hour. I can't wait to see the results. I'll be sure to buy more packages for their upcoming holiday sales. This location does have weekend appointments available and late week day evenings appointments. Terrible experience. Their stuff needs professional training when it comes to customer relationship. They aggressively try to up-sell more expensive products and services. Be aware, especially groupon users! They can come up with numerous reasons to not perform the service hoping you'll buy another, more expensive one: "Your skin is too red and it seems that you have an allergy and we cannot perform this particular service...But we can do this instead..." (My skin has natural rose undertones and I don't have any allergies) Or: "I know you are interested in this particular treatment, however we also offer..." They also switched me to different professional who tried to up-sell me: "I have to know the opinion of other nurse to make sure we can provide this service." Lastly, expect that their nurse suddenly has an emergency and the appointment must be rescheduled. I assume that their next attempt would result in their machines being broken. After experiencing all that, I asked the refund from Groupon.com... Can't trust them. At all. P.S: I went to another salon and they performed the service I was looking for immediately.
