The lash technician was clearly sick with a cold the entire appointment -- constantly sniffling and stepping away. I'm also not confident that proper hygiene and safety precautions were followed. As a result, I got sick myself and was unwell for several days afterward. On top of that, the quality of the work was quite average. My lash extensions started falling out just a few days later. I would not recommend this salon. They allow employees to come to work while clearly sick, which is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

I got exactly what I wanted natural with a hint of whisp to it. I went here a couple of days ago for brow lamination. The girl who did the service was very nice and kind, but unfortunately, the materials they used were the worst I've ever experienced. I've had brow lamination done many times before, but I've never encountered such a strong, unpleasant smell during the process, and I've never had burns from it. This time, my face got burned (photo attached), and it's been 4 days with no improvement. When they asked for my feedback, I shared my experience politely, mentioning the smell, the burns, and my overall discomfort. They didn't offer any refund or discount--which I think would have been the right thing to do--just responded with "Got it! Thanks!" which came across as dismissive. I wish I could leave a better review because the technician was kind, but the products and customer service after the fact were very disappointing. I would not recommend coming here for eyebrow lamination--unless you want to risk getting your face burned. read more

1 Star I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I felt really let down by Lashes on 5th. The quality of the work wasn't necessarily bad, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. First, they didn't listen to what I asked for--even though they have a full book of specific lash styles and looks, they didn't match what I chose or discussed. Second, they advertise 30% off for new customers on their website, but they didn't honor it. I came in with a previous set that wasn't full, and they charged me $160--the full price of a brand-new set--then told me the discount "only applies to new sets," which is extremely misleading. For that price, I expected to walk out with the best lashes on the block, and that was not the case. I also brought a friend with me, which should have qualified us for another discount they advertise, but again, nothing was applied. My friend left just as disappointed as I was with her lashes. I've been getting my lashes done for 5+ years now. The place I normally go to closed down, so I decided to give lashes on 5th a chance. The technician I was assigned to is knowledgeable and ensured my happiness. I got lashes in size 11,12,13 and 110 lashes per eye for a full look. For reference, my normal lashes are a size 12 so the mixture allowed it to be natural enough, while also voluminous. The set done on me is beautiful! My only concern is that the lashes on one eye mostly fell off prior to the 2 week mark, while the other eye had barely shed. It looked uneven. It's also uncommon for there to be loss to this extent in just 2 weeks, as I hadn't done any strenuous activities or such. I'm not sure what caused that and it's disappointing. I had a totally 180 experience on the 2nd visit. I needed a new set and the lash tech didn't ask me what I wanted and just showed me a post-it with what I did last time. I asked for a different look, something more natural, and shorter. Instead of using the size I asked, the tech kept pushing using a larger size. I said no thanks, let's do a shorter size. After she was done, which took less than 1 hour when the previous tech took 2 hours, the lashes were even longer! When I made a comment about it, she admitted she used longer lashes... She didn't think I would notice. It looked ridiculous. I asked if she could fix it. Several lash techs and the receptionist came out of nowhere and tried to convince me it looked good. I had to tell them 3 times that I did not ask for this. When I finally was about to have a meltdown and start crying, they told me to lie back down. Instead of redoing some of the lashes, she just cut them... this is now the worst lash job I've ever had. Significant quality difference. Entire clumps and twisted lashes. At checkout, they also charged a higher price than stated on their online booking. I called them out on it and they finally reduced it, but still gave the wrong amount, about $5 more. At this point, I just wanted to leave and paid. Since then, I lost 10 lashes on day 1 (and I did not shower that night) and an additional 20 lashes on day 2. By 1 week, I have almost no lashes left. Another reason I wanted it to look more natural was so it didn't look so noticeable when they fell out. One was was too close to my eyeline and caused severe itching. I spent my vacation nights removing stuck, itchy lashes and filling in the bunches that fell out. read more

I came to get lashes before my wedding and I had such a great experience with Hye and the business in general. I started out with a consult with Hye. I knew what I wanted already so mostly she just asked a few questions and then noted it down. And then for the next 1.5 hrs or so I just laid in a semi-meditative state while she glued on my lashes. It was nice. There was a blanket. I actually didn't love the lashes at first, but I'm also someone who never wears fake lashes. I've worn a temporary set maybe one time in my life. But within a week I was really into them. It was also really nice to look out together without having to do anything. I'd just throw on a little blush and be good to go. I probably won't go again but only bc the upkeep is a little high maintenance for me. If I ever do get glue on lashes again though I'd certainly return here. The office is beautiful and the front desk staff is very friendly! The space is clean and beds are very comfortable. I booked a removal then natural set. The service started like all eyelash extension appointments do but during the treatment the technician poked my eyelids with something sharp that felt like scissors multiple times so it was uncomfortable to say the least. When the technician was applying the lashes it felt like the lash extensions were poking my waterline, multiple times. So after almost two and a half hours of that it was time for the big reveal, at this point I was just ready to be done but when she told me to open my eyes my right eyelashes were stuck half shut with glue. My eye immediately started watering up and she had to work to separate my upper and lower lashes so I could open my eye. Not only painful but surprising after all the time that was spent on my treatment. I asked for natural cat eye and the photos show what the end result looked like, not bad but not quite what we discussed. Then I noticed something poking my right eye after I left. When I got home I was able to figure out what it was, one of my lashes was glued to my eyelids waterline (picture). Unfortunately the treatment was very uncomfortable and a bit painful if I'm being honest. If the lashes came out great I might have chalked it up to an amazing set but my experience was overall bad. Never come here. The technician ripped the skin off my face and left me crying with a burning face. When I told the front desk lady she said ok, she'll wipe the rest of the wax off and would you like to pay cash or card. I now have raw wounds on my mouth from the wax. When I contacted them later about this they emailed me to tell me to "apply aquaphor". That was their solution. Disgusting service. Injuring someone and leaving them with open wounds on their face that can now get infected is grounds for their license from NYSDOS to be suspended. read more

I have gone here many times and been very satisfied with the lashes I have had done by Maria. Today, for the first time, someone other than Maria did my lashes and they are horrible. I know it sounds shallow but I felt like crying when I left. It isn't the length I asked for which I have gotten many times with Maria (so I know what it should look like) and I wasted over an hour and nearly $130 including the tip. I won't say don't go, but I will say only book Maria. The more I look at them the worse I feel about it. Noticeably uneven and extremely short. Really wanted to like this place but am very unhappy with the result unfortunately. The initial "consultation" I did with my tech was extremely short, and she didn't take the time to understand what I wanted. I think there was a bit of a communication barrier but she ended up giving me lashes that were way more dramatic than what I had asked for. Afterwards, I noticed that the lashes on my eyes were not symmetrical and even. The tech and receptionist told me that it was because of unevenness in my natural eye shape... even though clearly some lashes on one eye were much longer than the ones on the other eye. I went here on my birthday May 28th 2021, it was my first time getting my lashes done and I was extremely disappointed. My initial consultation with the lash tech was less than five minutes long and I felt like she did not really understand the look I was going for. After my lashes were done I did not like them at all because I asked for natural looking lashes and what I got was extremely long and a bit too dramatic for my eyes. I asked if they could be fixed which she proceeded to do but nothing changed. The lash technician then told me it is because my eyes are "too big" that's why they look dramatic. I left the shop but was so unhappy with it that I came right back and asked if they could remove them. I did so politely and didn't even ask for my money back or a credit. I also still tipped my lash technician even though I had them removed. Later that evening I received an email from lashes on fifth stating they were sorry and they would issue me a credit to come back and get my lashes done for free with them. I thanked them and said I would call when I'm ready to reschedule. Please note there was not a specific date in the email stating when I would have to use this credit by. Today I called the store to reschedule the appointment to use the credit and the receptionist told me you already came in and did them. So I corrected her politely and said no I came in once and they weren't to my liking so they were removed and I left with no lashes on and informed her about the email that was sent to me regarding the credit. Then the receptionist tells me you would have had to use that credit within 3 days of the email you can't rescheduled now it's over a month. So I told her the email never stated there was a time limit to use it by and it's fine I don't have to do it there anymore. She said she would speak with her manager and never got back to me. All in All, I would not go back because I feel like you should never allow your customers to leave your business establishment unhappy with their service. I did not make a fuss or argued with them but if you're going to spend your money and tip well (which I did) then the business should care about you as a customer and make sure your needs are met. I came here to get some mink eyelash extensions. The place is easy to find and very clean. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and they took all my information. The technician came to me shortly and and we went over what type, length and size of lashes I wanted. She help me pick the best for my face and eye size. Then we went inside, the room is very relaxing with a bunch of beds but with a small division for privacy. My technician Maria was amazing and did such an amazing job. I really wanted to like this place. I got a groupon for 100 lashes to try out this place. I did C curl 10 -13 mm cat eye look. The technician was very patient and she took her time doing it. That's why I don't want to give them a bad review. I've done lashes in other places and I've always liked it. However the technician made my lashes look very fake. The lashes are supposed to be shorter towards inner corner and longer outside but the technician used almost the same length lashes and it made it look so fake and ugly. Even though the technician was very nice, I felt compelled to give a review for the quality of her work. I paid $80 for groupon and they charge me additional $27 for taxes and tips. For almost $110, I would pay full price elsewhere and get it done the right way. Overall the music was relaxing, the place is clean and the staffs are nice. They took 4 hours to do a set- I've never had lashes take so long! They looked nothing like what I asked for and I left looking worse than I came in.
